LGUP Method:Flashes both KDZ & TOT files:
Thanks to @shakeyabooti for LGUP!
Download LGUP from HERE
Install the file with the DLL name in them first and then LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3 Then copy the folder "common" to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model (this should resolve unknown error)
Make sure you have downloaded the required KDZ file MM or LP
Open LGUP on your computer "make sure your phone is plugged in"
ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE WITH LGUP NOT SEEING YOUR MOBILE?
Try this....... take the back off your mobile so you can get at the battery. Connect your mobile via USB. Start LGUP, if it does not see your phone DO NOT DISCONNECT, DO NOT RESTART OR TURN OFF LGUP. Take out the battery and then put it back in.......let the phone restart on its own. LGUP should now see it.
LG Drivers: in First post
TO DO A FULL WIPE AND INSTALL MM - Open the LGUP on your computer. FILE PATH point it towards the MM KDZ.
IMPORTANT!!!!!!! shut down LGUP!
Now open LGUP again - you will notice that the MM KDZ will still be showing in the FILE PATH section. Select REFURBISH and make sure BIN file is ticked. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient
TO GO BACK TO LP FROM MM - Open LGUP on your computer, click on FILE PATH and point it towards your LP KDZ. Close LGUP and re-open LGUP. Make sure you select REFURBISH this will do a FULL wipe, tick BIN file. Press Start. Make cup of tea and be patient

I'll try, one second.
Does he have an email address I can send it to him at? Not sure how to contact him.
Nevermind, they can be found here or here.

Thanks, Uploading it on my server now for backup!
This flash file will need to be flashed a different way than this guide though.

(NOTE: This thread is only for NOOBS like me and for Junior Members.)

But Go here for FASTER Root L9 JB/ICS on Unlocked Bootloader.
To understand and perform Flashing L9, you should read all following threads carefully before starting.

LELUS THREAD to Root L9 Thanks to Lelus (GUIDEPOST BY ARTIT Thanks to Artit for his preliminary guide)
JELLY BEAN ROOTING FILES BY ANGRYWOLF80's
TUTORIAL ON OFFLINE FIX FLASH METHOD by me << VERY IMPORTANT HERE
COLLECTION OF READY-MADE HEX-EDITED BIN FILES (in second post) by me. BIN files ready to download and flash. Now includes Jelly Bean files too.
MAKE YOUR OWN HEX-EDITED BIN FILE EASILY again by me
If anyone want to learn and still want to make their own HEX EDITED BIN files from their own KDZ, its really very easy. You dont have to download huge files again, and will be able to make your own edited BIN from the KDZ you already downloaded before. To support Rooting L9 with Lelus Method, I am uploading and collecting the readily HEX-EDITED BIN files. Now you dont have to worry for Bricking with wrongly EDITED BIN file. This will AVOID the process of editing HEX file, which may be bit confusing for some noobs like me
============================
SPECIAL THANKS TO LELUS AND ANGRYWOLF80 FOR THEIR TEAM WORK.
LELUS: This Rooting Method is not my original work AND ALL CREDIT GOES TO LELUS WHO GAVE THIS NEW CONCEPT OF HEX-EDITING OF BIN AND A SH SCRIPT TO RUN BEFORE FLASH. Without Lelus this thread might not exist.
ANGRYWOLF80: I am really thankful to him for providing a solution with changes in Lelus's script so the SU is not copied on every boot and also made changes to avoid mounting system in RW mode, keeping original hdcp.sh file without changes. The current improved modified BatchFile is by him. This removes some vulnerabilities.
Also thanks to him for JELLYBEAN ROOTING FILES. Pals, he really worked hard for this. Press THANKS button on his thread.
Adixtra and Unknown_world : Makers of Offline Fix Flashing Method. Without them Flashing Guide was not possible.
GUIDEBOOK STEPS
=============
0) Precautions:
___A) Select "Debugging Mode" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Developer Section)
___B) Select "Install from Unknown Sources" as ON (Ticked) in Phone Settings (Security Section)
___C) Indian version of L9 does not come with "Lookout Security Antivirus" already installed. But KDZ from other countries may have it already installed, FORCE CLOSE AND UNINSTALL it from app manager. If you cannot uninstall, at least DISABLE it. This program is known to be preventing connection and rooting of device.
___D)OFFLINE KDZ FLASHING DOES NOT LOOSE PHONE DATA, BUT YOU MUST BACKUP YOUR PHONE IN ANY CASE.
1) Download Hex-Edited BIN file and related KDZ file (on same line) in exact combination shown in SECOD POST BELOW. If you already have downloaded exact KDZ from this post, then you dont need to download KDZ again, just download matching BIN file.
2)
FOR ICS Download >>> Root_and_Flash_Guide_byCMahendra(date).zip
FOR JellyBean Download >>> RootJB_and_Flash_Guide_byCMahendra_AngryWolf80(31-Mar).zip
Either choose ICS version or JB and extract in your C-Drive.
Now you will get three folders named "C:\RootLelus" and "C:\RootFlash" and "C:\shttps"
3) Install Drivers: "LG USB Driver (Download 3.8.1 here)"
4) Optional if installed before: Install MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser by running "msxml.msi" file in "RootFlash" folder.
5) Connect Phone to PC with USB in "MTP" mode, let all drivers install for detected hardware items, then in "Charge Only" Mode, let all drivers install, then in "PTP" mode and let all drivers install, LASTLY connect in "LG SOFTWARE" Mode and let all drivers install. Don't neglect anything, it will save OUR time.
IMPORTANT: Weirdly windows will try to install its own WDM drivers searching online in internet. Do not let it install like that. It will be stuck with longer time or it will just fail to install drivers.
Solution: Always Click the link/button "Skip Obtaining Driver....." shown in this screenshot, so pc will install only original LG drivers for all devices in all usb modes.
6) Keep phone in "LG SOFTWARE" Mode and wait until it is connected. Now at this moment Device Manager should show 3 entries like this. If not, flashing will not work. (This is Important Checklist Step)
7) ADB MODE: Now start Windows Command Prompt with "Run As Administrator" option. Try to ping any website, if you SEE THIS DOS ERROR (SCREENSHOT) you are not in Admin mode and you need to try again. (THIS IS IMPORTANT CHECKLIST)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now pass following commands in lower case as adb command is "case sensitive"
C:\>CD \RootLelus
C:\RootLelus>stuff\adb devices
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
***For Jellybean the folder will be "RootLelusJB" instead of "RootLelus"
Now your device should be shown as "List of Attached Devices" like this result in screenshot. (Important Checklist Step)
This means your device is ready to take ADB Commands. PLZ DONT IGNORE THIS CHECKLIST. If fails, check cables, reinstall drivers, restart pc, connect cable directly on motherboard USB port and try again from first step.
8) This is important root preparation for Rooting before Flashing. Now Run a batch file "RootL9" on command prompt with following commands.
C:\RootLelus>RootL9
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This simple automated command batch-file (RootL9.bat) will copy necessary files to special locations and will set some necessary permissions.
When done, REMOVE USB CABLE AND POWER OFF THE PHONE.
9) NOW ACTUAL KDZ FLASHING STARTS AND THEN A QUICK MAGIC TRICK IS TO BE PERFORMED.
___9A) Add lines in "hosts" file as mentioned in step 1 of this post.
___9B) Start "SmallServer" as mentioned in step 2 of same post
10) Now follow all steps from all 3 to 10 from this original flashing post. In 11th of original flashing post your have to do following magic.
11) ACTUAL MAGIC:
After LG UPDATE TOOL starts, wait for following message in RED SENTENCE.
When you see this message and update meter reaches to 8%, then
quickly open this folder "C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone"
and look for extracted bin files, if you see the same name as BIN file you downloded (LGP765_AP[6].bin or LGP765_AP[11].bin), replace it with the one you downloaded earlier (which is already HEX-EDITED).
Press "Continue" if windows asks you for permission to copy and replace.
Folder not found? Workaround: Copy this "C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone" and paste in windows explorer at top, the folder should open directly, then replace file. In one of the rarest case, in WIN XP machine the folder was found here "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LGMOBILEAX\Phone" in this post.
Still problems? Check this post too.
Let flashing complete, and you are done. YOU HAVE JUST ROOTED L9!!! Phone should now reboot with working SuperUser. If SuperUser ForceCloses, just restart phone once again.
12) CWM Recovery Installation on ICS: This rooting does not install ClockWorkMod. First run SuperSU and install SUBinary if it asks to install and then visit this thread to install L9 Recovery Installer by Artas182x. First install this app and then run app and install Recovery.
CWM Recovery Installation on Jelly Bean: Please follow AngryWolf80's thread for installing CWM. If you dont find the information, post your question in his thread.
13) BUSYBOX Re-Installation: According AngryWolf80, he found some new vulnerabilities and recommended to uninstall BUSYBOX and REINSTALL it as per this thread and these instructions. Though this is applicable to the Root File released on 6th March, but these instructions by AngryWolf80, can be tried by anyone just to install and update busybox.
========================================
Troubleshooting
1) After step 2: If extracted folders need any permissions, then you should provide in folder security section by adding user "everyone" or "<yourname>" and give full access. (example video) This is Optional and should be done if you have permission errors while flashing. Do it for all three folders.
2) About 11th Step: The most common problem is you may not be able to replace the file in LG folder in quick time. You have to be very quick, so the FOLDER should be open in advance. You can even open the folder in the beginning and minimize until it is required to replace. If you are late, the LG TOOL will flash original file and root will fail. Or you can open the folder immediately when it starts at 4% and keep looking for file to replace. As soon as you see 7th BIN file PASTE it with 6th BIN, you already COPY'ed before.

I checked this link and searched the link inside but did not find any link mentioned by you for Hex-Edited V10GP769 bin file. Please recheck and send exact link or post with link.
When I posted that I didn't have 10 posts yet, so I couldn't post an actual link. Instead, I replaced "." with "[dot]". Anyways, I've just uploaded it to multiupload.nl for you. I've rooted with this on my own P769 and have checked the new checksum with the old one to ensure it hasn't been corrupted since the file was last accessed.
Download LGP769_AP[6].bin (75 MB V10G TMO USA)

Update:
Just uploaded the unrooted KDZ for P769BK V10G TMO USA (MD5: f467e9a0d0d4c3880486384b12fb081e), which I originally found in this thread, to multiupload.nl before realizing someone else already did. The official link for the KDZ gives you an HTTP Forbidden (perhaps the LG Upgrade software uses a special user agent, or contains other header info).
You can be sure this is the official and correct URL because they're structured as such: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WDLSW/model/authentication/rom/rom.kdz. Everything that's been italicized is changed. You replace it with info from this URL: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI where IMEI is your IMEI number. The page will give you some information about your phone. Shown on the page, you'll see your IMEI. After that number, you will see your model, the authentication, a number-letter combination I'm unsure of, and then the release date of your phone. Anyways, replace model and authentication appropriately. The name of the rom isn't on that page, but you probably already know the name of the ROM you're looking for anyway. For example, V10g_00. I know all of this from bricking the Optimus S, unbricking it (in fact, I did this several times), and posting a guide over at androidcentral (under a different username).

Also, I'll be posting the unrooted KDZ in a moment. I found it somewhere on XDA and there is an official LG Mobile link to it as well, but the LG Mobile link gives a "forbidden". Therefore, I'm uploading the KDZ to multiupload.nl now (takes a little bit, it's quite big).

Edit: Those V10G links were forbidden since 3/4 months. Thanks to that unknown person who saved it long time back when it was available.
Edit2: I must be mad, worked overnight and now downloaded V11AP769, modified [5]BIN and now uploading. (Too sleepy but dont worry no mistakes in V11A.BIN file editing.)
Edit3: Relax relax, saturnianalien. You are giving all old links we know since ages and my Rom Linker works on it since last 1 and half years. V10G KDZ new working link is already given by Gambal88 and placed on OP so dont worry.

I didn't use the rom linker because I was detecting spyware from it with several databases. If it used easy-to-read client-side JavaScript rather than server-side ASP or if it came from a website registered by LG, then I'd feel much better about using it. Besides that, I think it benefits everyone to know how stuff works, rather than relying on a tool.

EDIT: LG update will not run because it says "Please install CSMG B2C Client Tool" "Select tool ->B2C Client setup menu"
I tried that as well as manually downloading the b2c installer however it does not change anything. Ive also tried compatability mode (win xp sp3) and that didnt help.
Thanks a ton! Rooted P769 v10G

[GUIDE][E970]Using LG Flash Tool To Flash .tot Files {Alternate To LGNPST}[WIP]

Disclaimer
Code:
Neither Me Nor XDA Are Responsible If You Lose Your Job/Break Your Device.
Your Warranty Is Now Void
Downloads :
WIP
Instructions :
Extract The .rar
Open The Setup File And Install LG Flashtool
Right Click On The Shortcut Created On Your Desktop And Open File Location.
Copy The .dll Files From The DLL Folder To The Previously Opened Location And Replace The .dll In Flash Tool Folder If Any.
Open The Flashtool,Select The .dll Then The .tot/.bin File And You Are Ready To Flash The Firmware,Connect The Phone In Download Mode When Asked.
Note :
I Don't Know Whether It Works For N4 Converted Devices.I Had Successfully Flashed Stock .20 .bin File With It.But I Suggest To Use This Only When LGNPST Does Not Work/Fails To Flash The FW As For Me.Please Don't Perform Unwanted Experiments With Your Device Or It Will Result In A Hard Brick.
This Guide Was Originally Created By madmack @ Optimus G Pro Section So Thanks To Him.
I was Searching For The .dll File For Our Device And Found It So Decided To Create A Thread.And Those Who Are Thinking That The Required .dll Is The Same That We Use For LGNPST,NO,This Is A Different .dll
It Did Not Ask For Unlock Code When I Flashed The Stock JB FW.But As Posted By madmack there is A Possibility That It Can Ask For Your Unlock Code.So Proceed With Caution.
Again This Is A Alternate To LGNPST And Only I Have Successfully Flashed The Stock FW.It Is Recommended That Unless It Is Tested By 4-5 Experienced Users,Its A No Go For Noobs/New Users.
And Be Advised That This Process Will Wipe Your Internal Storage.
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing.
Edit: There are many more things to do in his (madmack) thread... Did u follow them all? Or for us we do not need all those steps? Let us know before someone bricks.. I use LGNPST but if anyone tries this.. at least they have a better understanding. thanks again for sharing.
just a heads up.. TeenyBin does not work in LG Flash. There are extra CRC checks which I haven't been able to bypass yet. This may change in the future.
also, not sure if this version of LG Flash is same as the newer one I use but I have to set the COM port to 40+ for LG flash to see my device.. altho maybe I'm missing something. I have to go into windows device manager and manually change the COM port used for the phone ( its in properties ).
LG Flash is no better or worse than LGNPST in my opinion. On the plus side.. there's no dll to register... and options are good

I've try to found the download link for the Lg Flash tool on this page, but i haven't. Can you fix it or explain? Thanks anyway.
Which .TOT and .DLL files will you be providing? I need the .DLL and .TOT file for, of course, the AT&T Optimus G E-970 US version! I flashed my wifes phone cause it boot looped and the .TOT used was SUPPOSED to be this file but it is the Korean FW. Now my wifes phone will not update via OTA because it changed her IMEI number. I need to get her phone back to stock 4.1.2 US VERSION!

Here is the file you need to get her phone back to STOCK U.S: http://downloads.codefi.re/g33k3r/LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013.zip I'm not sure on the DLL file, I use LGNPST so not sure if they are the same but attached it also just incase you can use it.. stock firmware file above is a .tot file so if you need to you can just change it to .bin if you need to.
Thank you blake but no. That is the fw file that turned her phone Korean. So may people are under the impression this is the stock US fw but it isn't. I even had another person here check their phone and his too in fact says "Lg Electronics Korea".

Where do you go check to see if its U.S or Korean?
All settings--> about phone -->phone Identity.
It's under settings-->about phone-->phone identity.
I had another person tell me that's normal because it's only the "manufacturer" info. Which im told this phone is manufactured in Korea. I don't know. All I do know is everyone is saying this is the stock fw for this phone but my wifes phone has changed. The start up screen is different and so is the shut down screen. Example, when her phone would shut down, she would get the AT&T logo and sound. After flashing this file she gets the blue circle and no sound. I do know that 4.1.2 is different depending on the region the phone is in. I don't know anything else that would explain this. Maybe this FW file WAS a different region but it was stripped out and converted somehow?

After a little checking I found out the same thing, It was normal as it was the place of manufacturer. I'm not sure what the problem might be but as far as I know that's the stock firmware for the phone.. You might try this one out http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22901594685177912 you just boot into recovery do the normal wipes and flash through recovery, its supposed to be stock except for being rooted and as far as I know those are the only two stock files floating around for the phone...
Thanks Blake. Can you confirm for me that this phone will NOT get OTA updates if it's changed in any way, including rooting? It's what I was told by someone else. If that's the case then I guess there really is nothing wrong with the phone except those weird unexplained small changes.
I've got all the correct files download and I made it so far as to try to actually flash the phone, but it fails and gives me a wrong model number message because it's detecting my phone as a E960 (it's an E970). Any ideas? I had installed the latest CM11 ROM over some encrypted data and now I'm locked out (old encryption PIN doesn't work) and I can't restore it to stock.
can someone help me with a .tot or .bin stock for lg l70 d320n? cuz i"ve looked for it everywhere but couldn"t find anything
need help bad.
i got this phone from a friend and it originally had cm11 on it. the phone in question is the lg e970. i wanted to get back to stock. so i downloaded the correct firmware and added it to my external sd card. using twrp before i proceeded to wipe the phone via twrp. when it was finished i restarted the phone into twrp and went to install the stock firmware and i could not find my exsd card. twrp does not recognize it at all. so now im stuck with a phone with no os on it. i can ge into twrp and download mode, and when i just boot the phone it goes to lg logo and stays there. i need help in trying to figure out how to get stock firmware back on phone. i am used to samsung phones and odin. so im a noob when it comes to lg. i am very tech savy when it comes to computers. plzzzzzz any help would be great!!!!!!!! and appreciated
I can not add .tot file in LG flash tool
I have unrooted my lg g3 before on another computer. But i can't add the .tot file with my new computer. I am doing everything the same.
Does anyone have any ideas?

[Guide] [VS985] Flash Back To Stock - KDZ Method

Updated 2/3/16 Master Download Link Added at Bottom of This Post For All Old and Current KDZ's
This method is confirmed working 100% for devices running 10b/11c/12b/23abc regardless of root/unlock state. While the .tot method is also working on Windows 7, users with Windows 8.1 are having difficulty using that method. Myself and @autoprime obtained a 10b KDZ file that has solved the issue for +10b updaters that couldn't flash back to 10b, so please send him some love for his help and for hosting the file on Team Codefire's servers for all to download. A big shout out to @quangnhut123 for creating the super sweet modified LG KDZ Flash Tool 2014 that makes KDZ flashing an absolute breeze!! He deserves some love as the previous KDZ flashing methods were anything but fun - especially on Windows 8. And another shout out to @deathsquad737 for initially testing the method for our device.
-Please this post and second post FULLY before asking questions!
-First remove any of the .tot flashing tools/programs that you may have already installed as they will conflict with the KDZ flashing tool.
-Download and install the latest LG drivers for your phone here (FYI I am linking the LG site directly instead of the file to ensure that you download the current up-to-date drivers): http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-VS985-Metallic-Black
-Download the VS985 10b KDZ: Downloads Located Below
-Download the LG Flash Tool 2014 from this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190 and be sure to thank @quangnhut123 for his efforts. Also read that thread a bit so you understand how to fully use the tool exactly, but I will outline the process below.
-Extract the .zip folder to wherever you wish to keep it (desktop, downloads, etc).
-Copy the 10b KDZ file (or whatever KDZ your flashing) into the LG Flash Tool folder
-Power off your phone completely, hold volume up, plug in the usb cable, wait for any drivers to load, and you should then be in Download Mode
-Run LGFlashTool2014.exe (you may need to run as administer as its not an installed program, rather an executed one from wherever you saved the folder).
-You may need to install Visual C++ Runtime Library. If so, refer to the LG Flash Tool thread for more info on obtaining that.
-Select CDMA as your type
-Select Diag as your phone mode
-Select your KDZ file that you copied or pasted into the folder
-Choose the option of CSE Flash (this is a full wipe, you will lose your data). Do not choose Normal Flash when performing a downgrade, nothing good will come from doing that!! Another screen will open, just leave everything the way it is.
-Click the Start button and yet another window will appear showing a language selection screen. Just leave everything the way it is as Korean and hit OK. Don't worry, the tool is already set to flash in English.
-Wait until the Flash is done 100% and unplug/reboot... and that's it - now enjoy your corrected mistake and stop taking OTA's!!!
KDZ files rock, and are nice and easy to flash. No separate DLL files or changing ports either with the tool linked. If any other KDZ files become available in the future I will add them to this post along with any tool or flashing method changes. This thread will be solely kept for KDZ flashing for the VS985. I will also help as much as I can if you run into trouble, though I am not a Windows expert and actually only boot into it when I have to run programs like this....Linux MInt FTW!!

-For reference, here's @ins5736 thread for restoring using the .tot method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/restore-verizon-to-stock-t2827878 .
-Also there are reports of the tool deleting the KDZ you copied to the Flash Tool folder after the flash. I cannot confirm this, as it did not happen to me, but to be safe make sure you copy the file to the folder instead of pasting it so that you don't have to re-download the file for future use.
-Please note that the KDZ file we have is build # 10B.01, while the .tot file available is build # 10b.03. The only difference between the 2 files is that the .03 build is the actual released build that shipped with the phone, while the .01 kdz build was obviously a pre-released build. Its most likely some minor last minute changes/bloat added. We can't find any noticeable differences between the 2 builds.
-OTA's WILL FAIL USING THE 10b KDZ FILE WE HAVE due to a signing error with it being a pre-release. The purpose here is to downgrade, unlock, and flash whatever you want. This is NOT to return to an official stock state. You'll need to use the .tot file or the official LG Flash Tool that downloads the current build automatically in order to be in an official "stock" state. The 12b kdz is official and will allow OTA's
*Error Update* So with this leaked LP image, I've been playing with kdz'ing quite a bit and with a new Windows install I got to experience a few of the issues being reported by others that I have never seen, along with trying to troubleshoot some others. Did I manage to fix them easily you ask?? Hell yeah!
USB Disconnected Issue: This is a driver issue. Very easy fix, just download the latest Verizon drivers from the link I posted above and install them without phone plugged in. Power off phone, hold up, plug into usb and WAIT for download mode drivers to install (as stated several times in this thread). Click the balloon to watch the progress, this took about 10min on an i5/ssd machine - be patient. This is the predominant issue I think people are having. The drivers while in download mode are:
-USB Composite Device
-LGE Android phone or LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Serial Port COM5 (this is the important one)
-CDC Serial or LGE AndroidNet for VZW USB Modem (this will fail if you are on a rom with certain VZW items removed - not a problem, its not needed)
-CDC ECM LGE AndroidNet for VZW NDIS Ethernet Adapter
If driver install fails, manually update them by pointing windows to the driver file you downloaded. I am not going any further here, use Google.
??????'s In The Field: easy, don't change region or language from Korean as stated in the OP. Leave it alone, it will flash in English I promise you. Result = all fields readable in English while running
Connection To Server Failed: Simple, ignore the window. Just drag it away, but don't close it. This is an offline hack originally indented to run online, deal with the window!
Progress Bar: The tool will initially analyze the phone, then when flashing starts, pay attention to the phone screen which will now say COM5. The blue progress bar on the phone is the important one. At around 80% on the tool screen, the phone will reboot. The flash is over and the bar will continue to progress into the 99% while rebooting - then the program will crash. You can disconnect now, you've been successful.
Thanks for the help and the new guide

Sounds like your linking the file path instead of directly copying the file right into the folder. Also try checking the file md5 with this one for the 10b kdz file: d228ba692ef0c4704cba0b00fad8b8ce
Don't Forget To Remove Previous LG FlashTool
When I first tried the method I was receiving a message "Path is too long or file problem". So I read through the instructions again. I failed to remove the previous LG FlashTool I was using. Once I uninstalled that program, everything went through without a problem. Thanks annoyingduck!!

Some basics to check first:
-Were you in download mode before executing the program?
-When you initialized download mode, did you wait to allow the download mode drivers to load before hitting start?
-Were all steps followed?
-Check cable, and try another one (this is very often the cause)
-Change usb port
-Don't use a 3.0 port, use a 2.0
Thanks for this excellent guide, Duck. Very simple to follow, well laid out, etc. I haven't actually done it yet, but I've got everything in place to do so (the flash tool, the KDZ file in the folder, etc.)
I assume once the downgrade is successful, just reroot with Stump, etc and wait for updates via the community?
Will future updates be available via this flash tool, or will they have to be flashed via TWRP? Sorry, I'm just now getting used to the LG G3 dev community, coming from an old GNEX.
Thanks!
continued error when trying ota
I have a problem. I was originally rooted without a custom recovery. I decided to try the ota and got the error message when trying to install. I then flashed this method (kdz) and got back to stock. I rerooted via stump and tried the ota again, failure. I then rewiped and kdz again, this time I did not root. Tried the ota again, no dice.
Any thought? I can flash the kdz fine and get phone to factory 10b but once I try to install the ota I still get the error.

That's odd... You chose cse flash, not normal correct? Normal would not wipe your device and could definitely be the culprit for the ota failing. While cse mode is a complete wipe prior to flashing.
Correct. I did cse, full wipe. I dont know what's going on. I tried atleast 10 times from scratch. I still cant get the ota to install.

After using the method here to downgrade back to 10b and root. I too wasn't able to then S/W update to 11c using survival mode in SuperSU. I perform the OP procedures again and this time didn't root and still wasn't able to S/W update, kept getting error. So I used ---> [GUIDE][HOW TO][VS985] Restore Verizon to Stock to go all the way back. I'm now able to S/W update to 11c and keep root with survival mode set in SuperSU. I most humbly say that there may be a very slight issue with maybe the files here. I truly do appreciate the ability to return to 10b using this method after updating in the first place!
Thanks, ill try the other method and report back. wish me luck. Either way, a huge thanks to duck for the easy way to rerturn. I just wish kdz worked for future ota. It may be a file issue allowing us to revert to 10b but not then allowing future updates.
Use the kdz method then factory reset the device and see if that works.
I tried that. No dice.

Thanks!

Sorry, I missed this question. Yes, any future kdz's that become available will be updated here, along with any changes in flashing methods. Though it's pretty hard to beat the current tool that's available.
And yes, the idea here is to downgrade to 10b and be able to root, unlock, and flash anything you want. Still unclear as to why some want to take the 11c ota, but that's for another thread. The kdz method here is working where the tot was failing for some, and I personally think it's faster and easier to do than the tot method.
The third step might be clarified. Do you mean something like, "Power off your phone completely, then turn power on while also holding the volume up button..."?

You should probably try it before trying to correct it.....
Nope, power off phone completely, hold volume up ONLY, plug in usb cable...it will auto power on into download mode

AT&T SM-105A Stock Firmware Needed!

I know others have looked as well but can anyone *please* dump the rom of their AT&T 4.2.2 stock image for the good of all us AT&T S4 Zoom owners who are stuck in a logo reboot loop or have other problems that require a restore? There are currently no images available on any of the usual places (Samsung firmware, updates etc.)
Thanks very very much in advance!
If you not found any stock rom for C105A At&t... & Your Phone is In Boot loop Stuck on Samsung Logo... Then Just Flash C105A Mexico C105AUBUAND1, 4.2.2 System And Cache Separately in Odin...
This will not work because the AT&T variant of the phone is bootloader locked. You are not able to flash firmware variants unless they are for the AT&T version of the phone. Hence why so many people need a firmware image for AT&T. If anyone has or can make a DD.Image it would help a lot of people.

I'd like to help. I've extracted system.img and cache.img from an AT&T sm-c105a (4.2.2). Unfortunately I didn't read the above instructions very well and placed them both in an odin flashable tar.md5 file. I guess if you want to follow the above proceedure you will need to flash them separately. On the other hand, if you have a brick already anyway, you could just try it out. Any problems with the file post here. Mediafire was being dodgy and I wouldn't be surprised if it was damaged. Anyway here is the link, or as close a facsimile as my noobness will allow: http www mediafire com /download /xbdxb8gun1niwg9 /sm_c105a.zip
So, I assume from the deafening silence that this did not work? I'm not surprised since a dd of a mounted partion (system) can't be a good idea. I have been experimenting with Adebar which is also supposed to make a system backup. Doesn't seem to fully support the phone, or, doesn't create the full backup. I'm open to other ideas....

Don t work to me.
Here are a cache and system image from the AT&T variant of the phone. @awwar can you be more specific. You are in a boot loop? No recovery?? Device recognized by Odin/Heimdall??? I am VERY interested in providing a way to unbrick our phones but am unwilling to brick my only device. If you want to try something post here and I will provide what support I can.
My CM-C105A is in Kies recovery mod mode. I can flash only system and cash tar files. Kies show error when i am traing to recover my phone.
Have you tried the pit file? Sometimes that might help?? Also, I have a boot.img download further up the page. If your bootloader is bad you could get similar symptoms? Kies doesn't like my boot/recovery images? Can you post the specific error? Thanks for replying. c_p

@awwar Here are recovery and boot images and pit file from AT&T version of phone Build # JDQ39.C105AUCUAMJ2. Kies may not be able to restore if you have a damaged bootloader source. But, on a plus note, "I haven't run into anyone yet who couldn't undo soft brick from Odin" source

Nothing changed, I flashed whith this firmwares but error. This firmware is too large.
@awwar Ok man, thanks for testing. I hope your skills extend further than the average windows user. You have to extract the files and then repackage them for odin as tar.md5. I think you can do it in windows but I can only talk you through it if you are using linux. I am not sure which image to flash first but Faisalkhan.007 in the first page suggests doing it one file/partition at a time. I would flash my recovery and on reboot try using volume up and home to get to the newly flashed recovery. I think you are getting file too large because you've got more than one file in your flash package. Restore the pit file as a last attempt after trying to flash each partition. I'd love to figure out how to pass you the bootloader only but I've got another project ahead of this. Did you look at some of those links? Try this (search for download mode on the page) if you are having trouble getting to download mode. And this is for osX but might help too. The errors you are getting don't sound like the one I get. I upload an entire file then fail at 100% for an unknown reason. The Heimdall guys say that is due to the locked bootloader. TLDR: Split files, flash singly, reboot and try stuff in between. c_p
Well I Really Don't Know , But Its Working For Me,

I have *three (3)* SM-C105A S4 Zoom Camera phones by Samsun and enjoy them. I have upgraded firmware on 2 so that I can use Remote ... uh, is it Viewfinder? And it works. Not to the point. What I *lost* was compatibility with *ooooooold* Photo Elements. Which, at age 57 I like to use and don't want to relearn. I run it on a virtual XP. What makes this post relevant is that *third* S4. It *hasn't* upgraded. Cracked screen, disused, but I crammed.. well, a bit of fibrous matter...OK , a ciggy-butt, in the battery door, with a rubber-band, to hold a fresh battery in place, ... and it's booting now. So, please give me a month to extract the firmware, yes it is AT&T and also upload Photo Elements, firmware from old and upgraded, to continue the discussions, or not, and to try cloning the two to restore my ability to post process nudies shot with my camera phones. And other pics. I wrote an AI MathCAD program to postprocess nudies (it's fine art fer heaven's sake) that actually simualted the artist's brush strokes. More on all this in I hope a month.

No, back when, I must have applied, not the most recent upgrade, but the intermediate of the three versions.....and all hope is lost. Photos from the oldest S4 I have do *not* open in Photo Elements. None of my cameras produce photos that open in Photo Elements any longer...but they did. I opened an older photo just now.
Dang these upgrades. The message says the JPG file is missing a segment. Phooey.
I have a business account with Samsung and will open a support ticket.
I will not pursue the hack angle for now.
Samsung may help me.
Cheers,

@DGoncz You could do that, or, you could just do a complete wipe/reset. Should be 4.2.2 after that. You may also be able to use a hex editor to set the start of the jpeg file to whatever your proggie wants to see. Good luck c_p

Unbrick LG V10 H901 with vs990 Motherboard

After spending 2 days and trying and trying I finally got the solution. The smartphone in the sticker under the battery has model number "h901" but I think that for one reason or other it's "h900" that's why we will treat it like "h900" and I will tell you how to flash even if model is different. Make sure you have vs990 motherboard model(it will take you 5 minutes remove the screws and verify). First of all download:
Firmware: https://lg-firmwares.com/downloads-file/3862/WEB_H90021w_00_0921.kdz.
LGUP: http://oceanhost.eu/dl959drhehp3/LGUPV10.rar.htm
Uppercut(you will need this if you have problems opening LGUP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295
Software to extract "dz" file from "kdz" file(this will allow you install any firmware on different model number): https://dl.xda-developers.com/3/1/3....zip?key=uWmelyLw3rVRER88X_xl3A&ts=1548509744
Steps:
1) if you have the smartphone in qualcomm mode then follow this guide until step 6: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-v10/help/lg-vs990-unbrick-via-qfil-t3739299
2) Open WindowsLgFirmwareExtract software, on "kdz file" section click "open" and look for WEB_H90021w_00_0921.kdz file you downloaded, check h90021w00.dz file and click "extract KDZ file" wait for the process(you will find the file if you click again "open", just cut it and paste it on desktop)
3)Now you should be in download mode, open Uppercut and then it will open automatically LGUP.
Check UPGRADE and in file path select dz file you pasted in desktop. Wait process end you should have booted your LG V10!
Marshamallow firmware has bugs. Fingerprint for example doesn't work. But this is the only way you can boot up you phone.
If you want to thanks me and you speak spanish or italian you can check my videos on youtube about smartphones:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv3x_-ozakd_80ZS7jdv18A?view_as=subscriber
Some of them are subbed in eglish.
Thank you!
I will to try
NO! DONT!
This fw is disaster! This will bring many problems to the phone and there's no way out yet unless (as claimed) you pay $150.
Please check AT&T V10 forum, you'll see many thread about this H90021w. Better find another way to fix your phone.

Sure, but if you want switch on your phone from bricked and you can't pay or you don't want pay $150 it's a good solution. How can you make a disaster switching on a bricked phone? From what I saw, there is no solution asaid pay money, so if people don't use and don't want to pay money this can be a good solution to unbrick it, for example myself. Am I wrong?

Still wrong, sorry.
There's another way to unbrick the phone.
Just find a patched LGup and ask for help to any H901 user to dump their partitions (not included modemst1, modemst2, fsb, cache, and userdata). You'll have your phone running again, assuming the ARB didn't mod the board yet.
Still, your good intention is appreciated.

I just really found this LGup patched things a few days ago albeit it's already around for sometimes in here XDA. Usually I'm using a Medusa Pro box flashing to revive the phone and I think it's not really applicable for many..
I havent really use this LGup patched but from what I read, we can restore partitions using it..
Ah I just realize if it's not possible to restore using LGup patched if the phone is bricked, because it needs a download mode. Instead we can restore partitions using Qfil. The mbn and xml file can be found in here XDA.

Yes, marshmallow and there's no way back from there.
The only solution I can think of is to find a H90021z or H90022b user which kind enough to share his/her phone's partitions. If you can find one, I can provide the XML and MBN file.

One very important thing.
Once you boot using that firmware, H90021w, the board will be modified.. it's fuse or anything like that will be modified and there's no way to revert back even to the original firmware which was working on the board.
I did an experiment, at one point I have 2 H900 boards. Both are booting fine. On one phone it's 5.1, on another phone it's H90021w with all it issues. I swap the EMMC from 5.1 phone to H90021w, it's not booting no matter how many time I try. Then I put the EMMC back to the 5.1 board, it's booting perfectly. Mind you, I didn't put the EMMC of H90021w board to the other board as it will ruin it.
So ARB is a hardware state, not just software. And you can't going back due to this.
Hi greeting from Malaysia, 1st for all I'm sorry for my bad english.
Recently I managed to unbrick my LG V10, originally it was H901 T-Mobile, android 5.1.
1. I use QFIL to unbrick the phone. Use the files (H90021w Unbrick-Qfil.zip) designed for H900 (download somewhere from xda, I already forgot the link because too many try & error. It took me 5 days to figure out on how to unbrick my phone).
2. Then I use WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.5.0-Release to extract the kdz file to dz.
3. After that rename the .dz file to .tot . Use WinHex to edit the file, search word H900 and change to H901 because LG UP detected my device as H901. Save & change back the file from .dot to .dz
4. Lastly use LG UP, choose upgrade... done! LG V10 is back to life.
As mention before, due to vs990 motherboard, you will accouter some minor issue like finger print, cannot uninstall apps (but you can hide it by using ADB command).
After upgrade to Marshmallow, the performance seem better. Previously there are some lag. No issue with camera, in fact the performance is better (snap faster). Now I use LG V10 as my secondary phone & for content creation. I love the camera, you can't find the features from any latest mid range smartphone.
*Don't give up.
