[Q] Will the C6808 be supported for T-Mobile's 4G? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

I was looking to get the Z Ultra but was wondering if it would work on T-Mobile's bands? It's the C6808 listed on Negri Electronics

Believe you will only receive 3g speeds

Do you mean C6806? If so yes it's good for 4G in USA.

Will it support the full 42Mbps speeds though? Not merely be able to connect to it? I've heard issue with the iPhone 5's only getting 21Mbps on Tmo's network.

I don't think 42Mbps is a 4G speed... Seems more like a 3.5, H/H+...

iPhone is iPhone, never heard they where the fastest in network reception. And if a phone give 42Mbps on LTE I ask for refund. It's as fastest83 say, 42Mbps is H+ speed. LTE is at least 100Mbps.

Gt-I9300 international on U.S. T-mobile

Just curious, I have the international and I am on T-mobile in the U.S.
Will the I international ever be able to attain 4G Speeds on T-mobiles network? For instance once quad cores become the norm in phones (like they are on the verge of doing).
Or would I be better off selling and getting a T-mobile g3?
Thanks in advance.

Ok. 3g would be great. For the most part that is what is in most areas anyway. I just wasn't sure if it was our phone that didn't have the right radios or if it was T-mobile/other carriers that didn't have the right modems for our exynos.

International S3 does not have 4G chip in it
The max network speed that could be available with an international S3 is 21Mbps HSPA+

I am on tmobile and it works pretty good I get 4g in some areas, it just depends on how strong the 1900 mgz signal is in your area.

Like the previous guy said you get edge speeds unless tmobile has refarmed the 1900 MHZ in your area for HSPA speeds.
Below is the list of cities where tmobile has refarmed the 1900 MHZ.
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/11/t-mobile-lights-up-10-more-modernized-markets-brings-total-to-15/
The modem is the same chip as the nexus 4 and note2, so I would bet if you use their radios and ril, you would have hspa and hspa+.

Hey guys! Just got my phone yesterday and got it unlocked. For some reason though I'm not getting Data at all. I should be getting something since I live in Boca Raton, FL and that's not too far from Ft. Lauderdale, one of the cities listed on the link Kirdroid provided. On my previous phone (HD2) I got HSPA speeds in my area. You guys have any idea of what could it be? Or any other tips on what network settings i should have?

Yes that is exactly what I was missing. Thank you very much! Unfortunately I'm getting edge here where I work, but the connection here was irregular as well on my HD2, so I hope it's just the area. When I get home later I'll give an update.
Thanks again!

The first settings worked best for me. Although the HSPA+ speeds are somewhat irregular on the area where I live, it works great on the neighboring area.
Thanks for the help samomamo !

Does your phone stay connected at all times? Mine disconnects from the network rather frequently for no reason and the data connection is spotty on certain apps.

My connection is spotty too, but that really depends on the area. On areas closer to the Antenna it stays connected most of the time. But where I live my experience is close to yours.
I am on T-Mobile, did the Nexus conversion, and I can confirm that I am unable to get 3G on the 1700mHz band. I live next to a T-Mobile tower, and my last phone (TMOUS HTC One S) got 3G signal without a problem, so I know it isn't the area. I am only able to get EDGE and I have the Nexus 4 modem M9615A-CEFWMAZM_2.0.1700.33.
Sshshshsh! This illegal! No unlocking!!

To you guys who live in Florida:
I spent my day today in Miami Beach and the hspa+ speeds there are constant and stellar there. 4-5 mbps download and 2-3mbps upload. That kind of proves my assumption that it's a matter of the area and not the phone itself.

Miami is probably already refarmed with the 1900mHz band. Where I live about 40 minutes from Tampa, I do not get 3G from my home, which is near a T-Mobile tower.

[Q] Droid DNA LTE on AT&T

I am aware that they are not compatible but I have a question about the bands. So AT&T and Verizon use the same 700MHz but the bands are different. Verizon uses Band 13 and AT&T uses Band 4 and 17. Are the bands strictly hardware only? Or can you add a mod where it can pickup AT&T LTE?

When I pop in the sim from my One X into the DNA the data icon constantly cycles between H+, H, and 3G. I've added an AT&T APN but it's still doing the same thing. Am I missing something?

Not to rehash an old thread (well I did mean to)...but any updates on how this is working out on AT&T? I had a Nexus 4 running on the network here in Charlotte and wasn't too pleased with the speeds I was getting. Ran back to my One X real quick. But I'm ready to grab one of these I think.

HTC Rezound on Simple Mobile with 3g /HSPA /LTE?

I have my rezound on the leaked Global update rom on Simple Mobile $40 plan. I am in Indianapolis, Indiana and moving soon to
Denver Colorado... I want to have speeds better then Edge. Does Indianapolis, Indiana or Denver Colorado areas have the ability to use something better then Edge speeds for data? Do I need to wait for the ATT spectrum that Tmobile got as part of the break up of the merger? Tired of edge....
I'm from Denver, hope you like it! I don't think we have simple mobile, but it'll work with straight Talk sim Idk about data for that though. All I know is Verizon 4G lte ran at about 45mbits a second

You well get no better than edge speeds on T-Mobile or att networks due to the resound not supporting the frequency band they operate on. Unless your in am area T-Mobile is refarming 2g spectrum to HSPA+

does anyone have simple mobile in Denver Colorado and have a rezound on it? Are you getting any 3g or better speeds. If so how did you get the better speeds? I read that Denver has been refarmed as someone with an iphone 5 has 3g service. I will be moving to Denver on March 1 so just wanting to see... I am in Indianapolis which so far i only have edge speeds... unless i need to edit something....
The only way it would work is if you could get a plan using att network through simple plan and do the radio edits described in the link above. Otherwise, gl until T-Mobile launches there new platform.

T-Mobile user - is the Optimus G right for me?

I'm on a T-Mobile contract, and I drool over the development support of the Nexus 4, but I need to have a SD card to put all my music on my phone. I plan on doing the N4 conversion, but I need the phone to do these things:
1) T-Mobile support for HSPA or LTE in New York City and Central NJ. Does T-Mobile LTE work on this phone?
2) SD card support
3) Tethering on T-Mobile. I don't have their official tethering plan but it works on my Galaxy S II CM10 rom.
Experiences?
T mobile lte will work once they turn on it. This phone uses band 4 and 17 and t mobile uses band 4 for lte.

Thanks. I wonder if it's possible to flash the T-Mobile radio from the N4 and it would work. Since they're basically the same phone...

Yes double this. I just switched my optimus g to tmobile and it will definately pick up edge but hspa+ is in some areas. Fortunately im in washington DC so its cool sometimes. Unless im moving around in dc then its just a constant in and out. It seems like Tmobile is 1 full step behind at&t when it comes to service and data. They go from hspa+ in dc to Edge but on at&t at least it goes from lte to hspa+ also the quality does not drop anywhere near as much. Tmobile feels like a souped up prepaid service.
My money is on T-mobile. For almost half the monthly cost of AT&T, i get consistent hspa+ speeds of 10-12mb down and 1-2mb up, in my city's refarmed 1900mhz T-mobile market. When T-mobile flips the switch on their LTE, it will be comparable to AT&T/Verison/Sprint LTE, with faster fallback hspa+ speeds and at significant cost savings to boot imo.
