[Q] S-On after Moonshine - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I am wondering how one would go back S-On after achieving S-Off using the Moonshine method or if it is even possible. There is a thread about LazyPanda/DirtyRacun but I can't seem to find anything for Moonshine. I ask because I need to take my phone to sprint for repairs and don't want to have an unlocked bootloader.

Use this:

This tool will put your phone back completely stock, locked bootloader and S-on.

Thanks! I saw this earlier but I wasn't 100% sure if it would work with Moonshine so I figured I'd be on the safe side and ask first.

[Q] HTC Unlock and HBOOT 1.50.0000

So I have question regarding HBoot 1.50.0000:
The HTC unlock method allows for a partially unlocked bootloader, allowing us to load custom ROM's. Is it possible to use the HTC method, then flash a previous Hboot like 1.30 or 1.40? I haven't seen anywhere where this has been tried, so I figured I would ask it.

As far as I understand as long as you still have S-on it will not allow you to downgrade the bootloader. I've also searched this theory.

I have 1.50 and S-off. I asked in another thread but never got a response. Can I downgrade since I am S-off? I used Revolutionary and then mistakenly flashed the wrong file to update radios etc. Put me on hboot 1.50 but I remained S-off.

You are probably using SuperSu as the superuser app. You can go into settings of that app and select permanent unroot.
You can then lock up you bootloader by opening a command prompt and going to your adb and using fast boot commands you can type fastboot OEM lock you can then proceed to download the latest ruu 2.13 just search the on here for it and run that with your phone still connected to your computer.
If your soff you can just run the ruu or install a stock ROM via recovery.
Multiple ways to do it just depends on a lot of variables like what ROM your on, s-off or s-on, what hboot your on 1.12 or 1.15, if you just want root gone or you also what to dump custom recovery as well and if you want it completely stock like it just came out of the box.
Let us know some more info and someone will help out

It depends how you rooted it.
Its different each way.

Theres no need to undo the superuser app. Any unroot method is going to install the unrooted ROM

True, but still a way to unroot.
If he just wants to unroot that's the quickest way to do it and probably the easiest.

You are right. That's not what most people want when they go to unroot though. H-boot will still be unlocked/S-OFF and the phone will probably still have a custom recovery (depending on root method)
So get back to us OP

I want my phone to be just like fresh out of the box. And I have s-on.

I too would like to know about this, fresh out of the box.
In that case, relock bootloader as per the instructions above, and then run the appropriate RUU for your firmware version.

If S-OFF it requires you to run the S-ON tool as well.
Its really a different process for each root method available
Which Rom should I use to unroot?

I mean do I need to put a Stock Rom on before I unroot?

No, and you never told us how you rooted. So we can't give you the directions you need

You'll need to re-lock the phone and then run the RUU then.

RUU:
http://stockroms.net/file/HTCEvo4GLTE/RUU
For h-boot 1.15 you'll need the 1.22 RUU
You run it from your computer.

You have to relock your bootloader to be able to take the OTA I'm pretty sure

I think you just need to type "fastboot oem lock" without the quotes in a cmd window.
An RUU will take you back to complete stock.
I have never done it so not 100%
Question why have you not tried to go S-OFF? It would save you so many headaches.
I'm pretty sure you need the stock recovery to accept an OTA so RUU is probably the way to go

I can confirm. RUU failed until I had the stock recovery and locked bootloader

Thanks fellas
adb tools w/stock recovery incase anyone needs it
I'm S-On, Unlocked, rooted, hboot 1.15 and have TWRP (don't recall which custom ROM I installed months ago but it is stock based). When I checked for the JB update I was notified it was there and was able to download it but I haven't tried installing yet. Will I be able to install it or will I need to re-lock, un-root or otherwise modify my phone before I can install stock JB?
Some people are having trouble recovering root after 2.03, might be better to wait a bit longer

[Q] Help needed on UnRooting

I'm trading my Evo LTE to Sprint tomorrow to get the HTC One
My issue is, I have to unroot it. Stock.
I'm currently on Stock with Goodies rom & I have S-off (method by lazypanda). HBOOT 1.12
I'm just not sure which to do first.. or if I unroot, with the s-off go back to s-on?
Try this. It will unroot your phone and you will be S-on.

If I want to run this ruu, do I need to flash the original hboot? I flashed a updated hboot a while back to get rid of that warning in red letters that it shows when it'd booting up. Also do I need to relock the bootloader before I do a ruu?
