[MOD][XPOSED][2013/09/06 1.00]Notification Direct Launcher - Xposed Framework Modules

I use Tasker to disable keyguard when I'm home. It works fine until when a notification comes, such as Whatsapp, and you click the notification to launch the app. Keyguard will be displayed and requires you to unlock the phone. I believe it's a security measure that the phone think you're still in the lockscreen and launching an app inside the lockscreen requires unlocking the phone which makes sense.
But that security measure completely defects the purpose of disabling keyguard in the first place. So I make this Xposed module to bypass the keyguard completely when you tap on notification messages and keyguard is disabled.
Again this module is based on AOSP source code but it also work on my Xperia phone so I expect it to work on some other phones too. Just try and see if it works on yours.
Requirements
1. Your phone must be rooted
2. Xposed framework must be installed first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
3. Only JB or higher is supported
Instructions
Install the module
Run Xposed Installer and enable the module Avoid keyguard to display when launching notification activities if keyguard is disabled using 3rd party apps
Reboot the phone
Source code
You can find source code for this module from GitHub here.

Thanks mate for this module. This is really useful.

Keyguard is what you find in system settings -> Security -> Screen lock. It can either be Swipe, Face Unlock, Pattern, PIN or Password.
Many people, like myself, use 3rd party app (e.g. Tasker) to temporarily disable the keyguard when in certain places, such as home, because you're not worried about unwanted access to your phone and unlocking your own phone each time you use it at home is kind of stupid, at least for me.
But the problem with this approach is that even the keyguard is disabled this way, when you tap any notification (e.g. Whatsapp message) in the status bar, the keyguard will appear immediately and even will continue to do so next time you turn your phone on. In other words, keyguard is reactivated again.
So this module is to bypass the reactivation of keyguard when you click the notification.

OK I kind of am a little confused lol.... So I have a GS4 and pin unlock pattern. Lets say I get a notification (text message lets say), and I have floating notifications, if I click on the floating notification bubble of the text message, I will not have to enter my pin # to unlock my device, it will just automatically unlock itself once I click on the notification, correct?? Thanks!

I believe Samsung has already changed the behavior of the notification. This module is only for AOSP or other ROM with similar behavior. One of my friend is using Note 2 and he uses Tasker to disable keyguard too. But tapping notification message does not trigger the keyguard in his phone so he does not need to use this mod too.

The Module works fine, but i did find one Bug. If you use this Module, and try to use Halo, it won't work as it should. The Halo Apps will be opened in Full Screen, instead of a Floating Window. Im 100% sure that its caused by this Module, cause if you disable it an Reboot Halo works fine.

Do you have a link to that Halo app? What does it do?

Halo is a part of Paranoid Android and a few other Custom Roms. Here is a Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdO9ZMwGHuw
In Short, its like Multitasking, an App within an App but inside a little Window. You will understand if you see the Video. I also dont see exactly how Halo is related to your Module but im sure it interferes.

Hi
I'm building a NFC unlock task, using xposed framework and your module to avoid pattern unlock temporarily.it worked, but the keyguard pattern comes as I press the home navkey.

wont work on galaxy s4, seems samsung took an own keyguard after accessing activity...
click on notification (NiLS) > keyguard-area (e.g. slide-area)
some tips or work-a-round? maybe tasker-script? if notification-XXX > keyguard off

I get a 'parsing error' while trying to install, with download here or direct in xposed app.
Using an EVO 3D/4.0.3 Rom, fwiw.
Maybe you can look into it when you're back
Thanks!

[Q] HALO / Facebook - not utilising multiwindow / floating overlay

Hi folks,
I am using PAC but my question is related to Halo, which isn't exclusively available on PAC (obviously).
I just want to know if anyone else has had this issue?
I have Set halo up in Whitelist mode and have whitelisted a few apps. I have also added the same apps in the Halo management app. This way I get notifications from and the ability to open any of these apps in multiwindow.
All other apps word fine. If i click the Halo icon to a specific notification, it opens up in a floating multiwindow. Same with if I use the drag right or left function to open an app directly...
Facebook however, when I click the Halo icon to open a notification, it opens full screen. It does open floating using the drag right motion however.
Anyone else had facebook issues with this?

Please let me know if you do. I'm on dirty unicorn on evo lte with same problem. It worked at first. Then it would work after a reboot. Now not at all.
What is the drag left/right thing? I don't know how to do that.

If you have the Halo)))))) app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paranoid.halo
You add apps to it....
Then when you swipe sideways on the halo icon, it scrolls through all the apps you have added. When you come to rest and let go, it opens that app in floating window (as if you'd had a notification)...

I'm tried several SGS3 rom: Paranoidandroid3.60, Dova(?), the latest Dirty Unicorn.
For some reason, the filter (blacklist/whitelist) doesn't work.
> Dirty Unicorn being the "best" as it originally worked but then faded out... and now the b/w list is totally not working
> BTW, most rom packs the HALO app to manually add a "sticky" app to HALO
For my part, I just want a way to filter out constant notification from HALO
Whitelist works on PAC. You know you have to tick apps in android settings, apps, app name, whitelist for HALO?

I think there is a general problem with facebook framework/animations. I am no expert in order to describe it accurately. But here's my story:
As I've already posted in the past (I didn't get any answers), i am using a multitasking app to switch between running activities. This app comes with a bult-in transition animation when switching from one app to another. Every single app works perfectly with the animation, except of facebook and skype.
Also, notice that when you long press the home button and the multitasking bar appears if you click to open facebook, the window immediately fills the screen, while the other applications have a little animation effect filling the screen gradually.
Recently, I flashed a rom with halo support and I experience the same issue as you describe. I do not know if the two things are related to each other, but I think that somehow the facebook app has it's own "rules" about animations and fullscreen stuff.

Oh, i forgot to tell you that this happens only when facebook is in the home page (recent stories).
If you open facebook on a profile page or a group etc, then the animations work perfectly.
It is really weird to be honest. But it happens with every single rom that i've tried. So i think it is facebook's problem.
Can anyone verify whether there's a difference in the Facebook halo behavior depending on where you last left Facebook?

HTC One Illusion Rom FAQs
How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.
How do I enable/Disable CRT animations?
CRT off animation can be toggled under Illusion System Settings>Display
How do I access Google Now?
On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

I don't know about any 3rd party apps that hides the nav.buttons (that you haven't tried), but Nova Launcher can hide the statusbar if you're rooted. You can also add a custom gesture to show it again (a swipe down for example).

You can do the same thing and many more with it... I for one love the "swipe up on the right up border" to turn off the screen...

Good to hear!
Note that you have to choose in the first menu if you want to use phone-style gestures or tablet ones. At first I thought I was doing something wrong as the screen didn't get my gestures but then I realised it took gestures for the phone (because I quit the app having selected that)!
Anyway I realised that custom gestures are always available in spite of what type of general gestures you choose.
That way I created one where I put two fingers on the screen and turn them counterclockwise to turn the screen off, and it works like a charm!
I'm trying to search for a method to turn the screen on for the Ultra (tap to wake) but I can't seem to find one...
Could Xposed framework be useful in some way?
I'm still trying to decide whether to install it or not...

All touch to wake settings I've had on previous devices have been baked into the kernel. Even then I disabled them mostly as the kernel wakelock stopped deep sleep.
Im using exposed for the dpi app settings, and running the Xblast module as well for the CRT off effect, advanced power menu etc.

Yeah I guess it would drain a lot of battery...
Would you suggest installing it even without unlocking?
Main thing blocking me here is that if my ZU goes into boot loop I don't have the option to restore a nandroid backup... would a restore via PC companion repair that? Or would I have to reflash an ftf file?

I ran it for a few days without unlocking and didn't run into any issues. If you check the main exposed thread I'm sure he details how you can disable the framework over adb if you run into issues. So no you won't have to refresh the rom if the worse happens. Not as quick as restoring from custom recovery but not the end of the world either. For me it's very stable. The per app dpi settings are a godsend.

The only issue I now have with the gesture control app it that the service doesn't seem to autostart after a reboot. Am I missing something or does it work the same for everyone else?
edid*** cleared cache and fix permissions sorted it, I should have tried that first really

Man I tweak so much I reboot like 5 times a day.
GMD gesture control seems to fall over after a Titanium Backup run, I suspect TB stops the service and fails to restart it. Solved it by converting GMD to a system app

[APP][XPOSED][4.0+] xRenamer - rename your apps universally

xRenamer
rename your apps universally
This Xposed module allows you to rename your apps as you want. Some launchers have a feature that allows you to change the label of the apps on the launcher. For me this isn't satisfying enough, as the name actually stays the same and if you get an "choose an action" dialog the real name jumps out. The problem is easy, there is no way to. After noticing this module, which is created to rename QuickPic, I got the idea to create an app that allows you to rename any app(almost, see below). I developed the code further(my first android app ^^) to be able to change all the names at runtime and here it is: xRenamer.

}
Requirements:
The Xposed Framework
Min sdk version of 11, which should be no problem
Installation:
Install the app.
Activate the module in the xposed settings.
Reboot.
Rename!
Permissions:
KILL_BACKGROUND_PROCESSES to restart the launcher
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE to save the settings
Limits:
At the moment, xRenamer is not able to rename:
System apps
Some rare apps(e.g the amazon app)
I am looking for a way to be able to rename these as well.
As long as this isn't the case, there are color tags in the app list dialog.
Green indicates that the app is an user application
Red indicates that the app is an system application
Yellow indicates that the app is neither in /data, nor in /system stored. Most of the time the app is an user application stored in /mnt/asec
Usage:
To rename an app tap the add button and either enter the package name of the app you want to rename by yourself or press the list button and choose an app from the list of installed apps. When an app has been identified, the icon will show up and a text is shown. Keep in mind that the add button won't be activated until the app has been identified. The add button also doesn't show up if you havn't entered a new name or if an entry for the app already exists.
To remove an entry tap the remove button. The actionbar will turn red and you are now able to delete an entry by simply tapping
it. Tab the button again to exit the remove mode.
To change an entry simply tab it and a dialog will pop up where you can change the name.
Although changes are applied during runtime, you may need to restart various apps for them to realize the change. For this purpose there is a button to restart the launcher hidden in the overflow menu.

I tested the app on my Note 3, running 4.4.2 and it's running fast and stable.
If you find any bugs, want to give your opinion or have an idea, feel free to do so.
Thanks to:
pyler for the idea and the basic code

Hey! Thanks for this man!
Work for most apps.
Doesn't work for: Dolphin Browser, .Sprit2 (FM radio) & Google Camera (in data, non in system).
Edit:
Working
I have been in need of this functionality for so long. Thank you! Did not work on DialApp and Today Calendar, but that is it.
Would it be possible to add the ability to change app icons too? With Apex launcher, I can change them on the home screen, but I can't do anything if it is in the drawer and a theme I'm using doesn't cover some of my more obscure apps. That would be the icing on the cake.

Thats actually a really nice suggestion. I will look over it today. It would also be a nice Addition to unicon which doesnt allow single items to change.

It's one of those things that always bug me about apps with horrible icons. I've deleted apps before because I couldn't stand look at them in my drawer. Even better would be to link it directly to installed icon packs and incorporate an icon picker.
I wish I could do this myself, but I'm glad you find the idea interesting.
EDIT: the more I think about it, the more I want to give it a try myself. I have yet to make an app, and I think this would be a great thing to start with.

Dint work for me for Quickpic I tried it with Lightning Launcher
I get this message every time I open the app. Please help!
@GalaxyInABox: Great idea!
I've a feature request: Please add an option to change the app-icon, so everybody could use custom icons (some complained about my "ugly icons )
Why does you store the settings on the sd card? /data/data/<packagename>/files sould also be okay.
If it does not work for some apps, it could be because of the wrong/multiple android.intent.action.MAIN/android.intent.category.LAUNCHER activities in the Manifest.xml.
The yellow package names are not good to read on white background, i recommend blue

This happens if the app isn't able to write to your internal sdcard. What device are you using? It could be the case that your device or rom doesnt link /emulated/0 correctly.

I already have some idea how to do the icon replacer.
And writing to the sdcard will be removed in the next patch. I found a better way to do!

I'm using Galaxy S2 (I9100) running Cyanogenmod 4.3.1. I think it isn't working because my internal sdcard is not at the location /storage but at /storage/sdcard0 or directly /sdcard. Is there any way to resolve the issue?

I have written a kind of hotfix which discards the use of the sdcard. The drawback is that it requires a reboot after changing the settings(like adding or deleting an entry). I try to find the issue, but if I don't find it quickly, I will upload the hotfixed version as a beta branch.

As far as I experience, most Xposed modules require reboot after I apply changes. So, where is the problem?

1.0 doesn't require it so I wanted to mention it.
Problem
Nothing happens at my device!II changed the names,I also rebooted but still no different name! :silly: With the initial release,it showed me the error toast, now with the updated version it doesn't show the message but still not working!
Love the idea, but it's not working on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4. When I press "Restart Launcher", the launcher restarts and then a couple seconds later xRenamer force closes and no changes are applied.
So far, I've tried it on S Educate, Tetris, and aLogcat. All of which are user apps and not stored on SD card.

[MOD][Xposed] Statusbar Gestures - Launch apps and shortcuts from the statusbar

Hello
This Xposed module allows you to add various gestures to your statusbar.
You can either launch an app or a shortcut. This is interesting for stuff like Tasker-actions for example.
Supported gestures are:
Tap the statusbar once
Double-tap the statusbar
Tap and hold the statusbar
Swipe left on the statusbar
Swipe right on the statusbar

Nice module, good job.
A few notes
-the app list needs time to load but you are not showing a loading icon. At first I thought the app was broken, but when I clicked 'launch app' a few seconds later it showed up.
-why are you using gingerbread drop down list?
-if you don't need the v4 support library (which is included automatically) you should remove it and your app size will go down by 200 kb
Looking forward to the shortcut option.

i will rework that soon. as this is just a preview, i didnt focus much on the settings activity yet.
-i thought they might look a bit better, but if people hate them, i will change them
-thanks, will do that

And I forgot I'm running PA 4.43 (Android 4.4.4) on galaxy s4 i9500
Also why don't you use a preference screen and make each one a list preference? (PS it's now deprecated but works)
I would like to see this being developed further hence I've purchased the donation package on Google Play.
