[Q] Latest Google Play .apk failing to install... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi all, first time post here.
I just switched from my 5-year obsession with the iPhone (due to loss of interest) and bought my first Android device, the Galaxy S4. Love it! Already updated to the latest OTA update, and then rooted via the SD card method. Just ran into my first (minimal) issue today.
Upon reading this article on Android Police, I decided to download the latest Google Play .apk to install the latest version of the app. Once downloaded, I opened the .apk for installation, but I see this (check attached image) after any attempt to install.
Any ideas?
Key Info: I have a rooted Verizon Galaxy S4 on the latest OTA update.

[Q] Android Market with stock rom

I installed the android market with the stock rom two weeks ago. I first used Zroot. I then copied the android market files onto my Gtablet but i did not place them in the system folders. I kept them in the download folder. I then installed the apps in the proper order and did the market fix. Everything runs perfectly ever after the latest update. So here is my question I can see my device in the android market, but it is unnamed and I can't see maker or model on the list. Is this normal? Should i be able to see a better description of the gtablet on the list. I believe i have a full market, but in can't seem to be able to find adobe flash or firefox mobile browser in the market. I've had to do a manual install for both to get the latest.

[Q] Android Market version question

Hey guys,
I updated my Android market to version 3.1.3 via an apk from xda and while I was browsing through the files on my phone, the info on the 'vending.apk' (android market) file said:
file version 2.3.4
installed version 3.1.3
My question is, shouldn't the file version also be the same as the installed version (3.1.3)? My phone is not rooted.
Thanks!
I'm just guessing here:
I know you can uninstall market updates through the manage applications page to make it go back to its earliest installed version. Maybe it installs the updates elsewhere and "overlays" them on the original version to get the new "installed" version. This way the apk stays the same version it always was, allowing a quick and easy revert to the old market. If updates are applied directly to the apk, maybe the version number for the current apk stays the same to allow easy determination of what your earliest installed version is.
Again, this is all guesswork. I could be way off the mark. I hope not, though.

S3 Kies upgrade unroted and now not listed in ADB devices?

I rooted my S3 with CF root and later updated CWM version with the latest touch.I have also created 2 partitions in my 64GB SD card one with FAT32 and another hidden for Link2SD. This way it has worked well for all these days.
After seeing the notification for OTA update, I temporarily unrooted using Vodooo Rootkeeper and tried updating the firmware which eventually failed during couple of trials with signature issues in CWM mode.
This time tried with Kies it took very long to upgrade and finally rebooted. But to my surprise I could not open rootkeeper (says app not installed). Not only the apps I moved to SD but also few apps in phone memory are lost. !!!*** Including Google Play Store ***!!! Somehow installed play store now.
Tried using toolkit V2.0 and started with re-installing the drivers now my S3 is not listed in the toolkit console even ???
EDIT: Everything came into place with re-rooting and request the mod to close this thread

Can't install APK's that have been installed before

I've build an app in Unity which has been working fine for months.
I then decided to reinstall the app because of an issue that later turned out to be a problem with a CSV file the app needed to access.
But after I had uninstalled the app and wanted to reinstall it I received the "App not installed Error".
I tried to install a previous version of the app and that installed just fine. I then uninstalled that because I wanted to try the newest version again. But now I'm not just unable to install the newest version but also the version before that. Every time I install and uninstall a different version I'm then unable to install that particular version again.
I've tried: - Rebooting the phone - Deleting the app's folder in the "Android->Data" folder - Just about everything I could find searching on Google for help
I'm on a Samsung Note 8 and I recently upgraded to Android Pie
Edit: I am unable to build a new version because I'm away from home for the next week.

Question Google Play system Update

Hey people!
Launched this discussion topic concerning the Google Play system updates.
My daily driver is a Samsung Galaxy A52s (SM-A528DS -- 8GB / 256 Gb - CSC MWD // Morocco), running One UI 4.0 (Feb 2022 Security patch)
Yesterday, I manually installed the lastest Google Play apk (from here) aswell as the latest Google Play services (link). What I found randomly, while digging into the phone settings is the fact there's also a prompt to check the Google Play system update in the About section. (Settings - About phone - Software information - a click on Google play System update). Once I checked, I was notified by a new update (14 MB). So I downloaded it and got asked to reboot my phone. Everythong fine so far.
I'm curious about what this update is for and what it does fix. Wondering if those steps I followed in the previous paragaph helped to unblock those updates. I had the phone since last November and never got a notification about this particular update.
Appreciate your help/answers.
Thanks in advance.
