sd slot/usb debugging mode errors - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hello everyone
I have searched for this issue and haven't had any luck finding a resolution. I also posted on an existing post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343217 (post #9) ) and didnt get any help. So I hope that constitutes as following the rules to open a new thread.
To sum it pretty concisely, I was on vacation, something made my phone act very erratically and perform many random reboots, often 20+ in a row without getting past the cyanogen boot screen.
anyway, i just figured i would go without a phone the rest of the trip and put the phone in my bag where the battery died. when I got home from vacation I plugged my phone to charge the battery and the when I turned it on, the reboot problem was gone. It acted normally and was working fine.
However when I went to take a photo, the camera app said, "no storage, no external storage available" and in the background it said " insert an sd card before using the camera"
so i went to settings>storage and looked at the information and it shows the sd card is mounted under the sd card slot. under the internal storage slot, it says "mount sd card". when I unmount from the sd card slot, and try to mount to internal storage, it says "preparing sd card" but nothing changes and there is still an option to "mount sd card" under internal storage.
I have TWRP recovery and when I did a factory reset and that didnt help. I cant wipe anything because it says "failed to mount sd card" in the console log.
I really have no clue how this happened or what I can do to fix the issue. My phone will not connect to my computer and I just need help from you guys.
Im running..
CM10
S-On
Hboot 1.15.000
OpenDSP-v25.1.0.32.0405
eMMC-boot
If Im in the fastboot menu, and I click bootloader, it says
SD checking..
Loading [PJ75DIAG.zip]
No Image!
Any help is very much appreciated! thanks!
Luke

Anyone? I will happily donate to whoever helps me fix this problem :good:

Have you tried going to the mount menu in recovery, connecting your phone and PC and mounting the SD card to see if you get the option to format it on your PC? I would also try mounting internal storage this way to see what happens.
Also, the "error" you reported regarding what happened when you selected bootloader is actually normal. The bootloader is looking for a PJ75IMG.zip file on the external SD card (like when updating firmware) and will give that message when one isn't found.
Are you running CM 10 or is it newer, like 10.1 or 10.2?

I will try this in a few hours when I get home from work. Thanks.
I am running CM 10. I was going to try to update but I cannot now since the phone tells me there is no sd card to store the file.

Actually yes, the mount option in the TWRP recovery menu allowed me to connect to my PC in order to format the drive and now I am able to mount my sd card. I will donate as a thank you. :highfive:

"Damaged Internal Storage" need help!

I tried to completely wipe and flash the latest version of Stock w/ Goodies 2.15 and, after rebooting found that, at the top, it said "Damaged Internal Storage" so I tried to format it by going into TWRP and mounting the internal storage, but it won't mount. Really need help on fixing it

You tried formatting in TWRP or from your pc? The latter should work, once you mount it in Windows you should get a prompt to format.

I don't suppose you have an adapter that you can plug it into and use in a card reader do you? If not, you may consider picking one up, they're pretty cheap. That's assuming you have access to a computer with a card reader of course...

Oh My.. What did I do??

Tried to flash MeanRom to my EVO Lte after using CMX for a week or so with no problems.
Now I'm all turned around and I have no clue what's going on. My phone will still boot into recovery so I'm assuming all hope is not lost. However I can't access my internal sd, can't use the adb shell command (I get: "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2)"), I've tried to flash CMX back onto my phone but the files seem to have disappeared from it's internal memory. adb reboot recovery works, sends me to TWRP. But once in TWRP I get confused and frustrated because I can't seem to find a way to just flash a damn ROM onto my phone. None of my backups are listed in "restore" and I had three there this morning. WHAT GIVES?
I'm using a Mac and don't have access to Linux or Windows, I was going to try to unroot it and start from there but I can't seem to find a way to unroot the phone on a Mac. Unless I'm googling wrong.

you did save your backups to external not internal right?
are you s-off? what boot loader?
if you can get into recovery you should be able to load a rom zip on sd card and flash from external card.

I saved them to internal. I don't have an external yet.. Single mom, had to buy my kid shoes. Damned priorities...
I can get into recovery I just don't have an external sd that I can put a zip on. I thought I had an extra from my old HTC G2 but I've been unable to locate it.
Should I run out to Fry's and buy an external sd card or is there a way to fix it without the external?
Edit: Btw, I'm s-ON. I'm still fairly new ish to this stuff so I'm not 100% what bootloader I'm using. Is it the same as Hboot? Hboot is 1.19.0000

If I'm using Mac and not Windows will that be ok? I can mount it to my computer but where should I go from there? Erasing it? Restoring it? I'd be using disc utility, unless there's a different program that works better.
thats fine, go to twrp and select mount/mount as storage and connect to pc, format volume fat32

Now once I do that, just add the rom files to my phone's internal and try to flash a new rom, correct?
Have you tried to format storage through the boot loader?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
yes, once its formatted, add a rom, prefereably meanrom, its the only one I've tried that has reliably installed the kernel. Give it 5-10 minutes, the phone will hang on writing kernel and it will reboot 2-3 times and it will hang each time, just let it do its thing

No, that literally just occured to me as I refreshed the page. Off to try that now.
I don't have an HTC phone with me now to show the exact steps but usually when you get to the boot loader it will have an option for formatting storage. Then try to go into recovery and mount.

Now my files that I transferred to the phone are not showing up in TWRP under Install OR File Manager. ARGH.
Maybe twrp isnt mounting the internal memory. I dont see that being a problem though

Well **** I'm going to run out and buy a microsd and try to flash the rom from external. Let you know how it goes.
Alright, so flashed CMX back to my phone from the external sd. Worked beautifully. I now have a rom running on my phone.
Still can't figure out the internal sd.... Is there anyone who can tell me step-by-step what to do to reformat it or fix it or whatever? I feel like this should be a relatively easy fix, am I right? Why can't I figure it out?? Ugh.
Reboot to recovery, select mount, select mount USB storage, plug it into pc, open disk utility and select sd, select erase and choose fat
When you're booted up an go in to Menu/Settings/Storage is nothing showing under Internal storage or Phone storage?

USB Bricked

So today I went into the bootloader (By accident, meant to tap reboot into recovery) I pressed the down button one too many times and I deleted storage. Afterwards I went into recovery (4ext 1.0.0.5 RC7) and after an attempt to flash CM10. I receive the error message "Can't mount Internal SD card." The external SD card works just fine. I'm hoping I can get this fixed and after I do you can probably expect another thread for some other problem

use 4ext to format the internals storage, then leave recovery, go back into it and attempt to reflash.

As an added note, everytime i make the phone a usb mass storage it unmounts the sd card
I think something similar happened to me where it didn't mount the internal SD no matter what.
I trie dformating it, partition it, nothing worked.
I fklashed stock RUU (that did it) and started from the beginning.
So try putting stock ruu in ext SD rename it PH85img and let bootloader update it.

yes flashing back to stock may help fix the corrupt file system.. then again there's a super wipe script posted somewhere... (not the one from android hd.. krook6023* posted it) if you look in the q&a about 2-4 pages back you might be able to download that and flash it... it also re-partitions the phone and fixes any errors in the file system..

Damaged SD card with SD card removed

Hi there. I have a few questions // concerns.
First off, I just went from Scott's ROM to the (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ RAGE ROM found here. I followed the instructions on how to install as I'm S-ON (3x wipe all, flash rom, hboot image.boot, etc.) and everything was working great. Now it is telling me that my SD card is damaged -- click to reformat. I did that and it still had the error. I attached the device to my computer as a disc drive and I noticed I ONLY saw the SD card (no HTC Internal storage like I used to on Scotts).
I did what any logical man would do -- I removed the SD card and restarted the phone. The phone still says that the SD card is damage...
What gives?
Astro//ES Explorer said emmc was empty -- when I went to write a folder to it it didn't allow me.
I'm hoping this is something easy to fix/explain. Please help me out if you can.
When I go in to Recovery and hit USB-MS and toggle internal SD card (while the device is plugged in to my computer) I can see the contents of HTC Storage where I couldn't before.
But there's no way to keep this active, is there? Recovery only says press power to disable and return to menu and that's the only button that works.

There is. Once you have that mounted, and after you've backed up that data to your PC, use the PC to format the drive you mounted to FAT32. That should fix the problem.

It's NP -- flashing back to sense is easy, but how do you fix the mount issue?
it sounds like a firmware issues. did you go from GB to ICS?
Actually Neo is right. I had the same issue on that rom. Flashing back to a sense rom then going into recovery mounting usb formatting as fat32, then unmount, wipe everything basically giving me a fresh start then reflashing a AOSP fixed that issue for me
I had the same issue. Check out this thread:

My phone won't mount the internal memory!

My phone came broken, it wouldn't make phone calls. I tried a bunch of different roms and none of them worked. Now I can't even boot into a rom and it just hangs at the splash screen of whatever rom I flash. In Twrp is says that it cant mount anything in the internal memory card pretty much.

If TWRP can't find it or fix it, then you will probably have to be S-OFF and RUU back to stock.

Is there really no other way? At this point I feel like just not having a phone. I have been more than a day now with a bricked phone. It just doesn't seem worth it anymore. I can't get s-off because I need to be on a stock rom to do so. I can't install a stock rom because everyone I download doesn't work.

at the bottom of the selections under the "Mount" tab in TWRP do you get area that says Micro sd or EMMC and storage space size
still having problem??
"It won't let me select the internal sd but it lets me select everything else."
If you are unlocked or S-0ff and still having this issue, I would suggest installing Amon-Ra recovery
via PH98IMG.zip.
Start recovery, choose USB-MS toggle, connect to Windows machine,
choose toggle internal SD, then format it. could do the external storage to format as well.
Now both should be visible and ready to take your ROM flash or nandroid restore.
