[Q] How would I root my HTC DNA from a complete step 1? - HTC Droid DNA

So how would I go about rooting my HTC DNA from a complete step 1? I know I need to download and install something before doing whatever on the phone, but I dunno what. Also, I'm running firmware version 2.0, so the other methods I've found on XDA won't work for me.
So could somebody please give me a detailed step-by-step process on how to woot my DNA? Much appreciated to whoever does, thanks!

They exist. Find the thread for moonshine and it will do everything for you. Please look on forum threads before posting questions as it clogs up the forum.

I actually just went through the process. There are a ton of resources but here are the general steps I took.
Download and install drivers/adb/fastboot.
Unlock phone with Moonshine S-off
Flash a custom recovery (I used TWRP)
Make sure you have root and flash the Rom of your choice. I used Nos m-7.
Good luck!

If you were to look in the developers section (where the roms are posted), you would find what you're looking for. Try investing a few seconds of your own time before asking someone else to do it for you.
One. why would i ask question in development section if this is q and a. Second i did look and i couldnt find anything [email protected]

Who told you to post in the developnent section? You're the one who can't read since you must be in the 2nd grade with that kind of reply. The titles of many of the threads in the developers section even states if you have to be locked or not so the fact that you even post this to begin with is proof you haven't even looked.

what i dont understand beartrap is why you bothered posting at all you add nothing to the community by being rude.
to answer the op question you can flash skinny4g rom and yays deodex update rom both are based off 198_7 so you will need to upgrade to that, root, install bootstrap, then flash these are based off stock so no need too unlock boot loader. for a more custom experience or if your a speed freak try one of jokers roms with oc kernal these you have to unlock for, you do lose 4g but your device will gain a ton of power.

I'm pretty sure there is a guide over on phandroid (android forum)
I'm 99% sure you don't need the ruu, I recall a couple threads over there about it, but its been a while
Good place to start anyways

I will check it out thanks !

there's already a comprehensive guide here on xda written by ramjet73. if you have all the OTA's applied you can go directly to step 2 of the guide and you won't need to RUU
EDIT: its best if you follow the guide all the way through step 3 and get s-off but if you only want root then step 2 is enough

Bootloader Unlock???

Hi Guys...
Just got an insurance replacement....
Running 2.06
Did moonshine s-off but need to unlock bootloader also so I can load recoveries....
Can someone please help me.
When I try to install supercid....I get install failed.
Thanks!!
If you are S-Off then the phone is unlocked and you can flash the recovery provided you know what you are doing.

Your unlocked so now go in the app store and get "ROM manager" which will flash you ClockwordMod Recovery. (Easiest way IMO)
I am an idiot....I do know what I am doing but didn't realize moonshine it all in one step.
All good now...instalingl twrp
Or get Goo Manager and load TWRP
I'm new to the phone world but I'm trying to get up the nerve to root phone but I don't feel Like I'm tech savvy enough to do it,the whole unlock Bootloader because I have (2.06)..it just sounds like too many things can go wrong...any advice?

The easiest method really is to dl the Ubuntu 32 bit iso and make a bootable cd/usb of it and do moonshine from within the live portion of that iso. takes all of 30 mins and most of the time completes without issues everytime like clockwork.

You don't need to download Ubuntu anymore they added windows support I moonshined using windows xp
4.3 Carbonized DNA!!
Yes I did it the other day. There are some good videos on YouTube that help. Got an error and for some reason my phone was showing up until I put it in the adjacent USB port.
*I think it's USB port related, not software*

Yes, but using windows brings a lot more chance of error due to drivers and other bs, that's why I said the easiest way, was using Ubuntu.

Hey guys, this thread seemed on topic for my question. I have a used DNA on the way, I presume it has the new firmware.
Coming from a Rezound with S-OFF and unlocked bootloader, I want to be able to flash ROMs and kernels on my DNA. Do I just need to get S-OFF and then I can load custom recovery and flash whatever I want? This is what it sounds like, but just wanted to clarify. Thanks!

I have not been following the DEV scene for this device in awhile. At this point even with the latest firmware and latest hboot you can achieve S-OFF?
Moonshined with win 7 64bit. Failed a bunch of times 4th time it worked. Same USB port.

New to this phone! Please help! (P769)

I have a few questions lol. I have looked and i havn't found a good guide to unlock the bootloader. Can someone tell me a good guide to do this. I want to unlock the bootloader, root, flash cwm and a rom. I was looking through the roms and i saw pacman which is what i will probably be flashing. Thanks. I am not a noob to flashing just to this phone lol. And i have never messed with a lg before.
Follow the Unlock Bootloader for Noobs video... no other way for now. Follow the steps closely, too... I may have perma-locked my phone.... grrrrr.
