[Q] Rotated upside-down - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, everyone!
I had to flash my phone because one day it got stuck in the boot logo. I didn't have the ROM backed up since I was not planning to mess with the phone's software in any way.
I own a Star N800+. Sadly, I couldn't find a suitable ROM anywhere. So I followed @cybermaus ' advice (find a ROM for a phone that has same processor, same memory, same buttons, same screen type and resolution, same sensors, same camera -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36326293#post36326293) and decided that Star/Ulefone N9770 had to have the same hardware. So I flashed a couple of ROMs for N9770 into my N800+ and each one worked great (that is, camera, gps, wifi, g-sensor, buttons where all working) but the screen was rotated upside-down. I mean, every single thing that gets diplayed on the phone from boot logo, to android menu, to every app, to the image from the camera are shown rotated upside-down but in order to operate the phone you have to tap as if you were viewing it right. For example, to tap on the upper-left corner of the image you have to tap on the lower-right corner of the phone's display.
Mi guess is that even if both phones may have the same hardware, there should be some parameters that are not the same for both models. Could anyone, please, give me a hint on this matter?
Here is my phone info:
Star N800+
MT6577 processor,
bootloader came unlocked from factory,
Android version e1909c_v77_jbl_9p017_6628
Baseband version MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V15
Camera Aptina A-pix MT9p017

Update:
I tried to change ro.sf.hwrotation in /system/build.prop from 0 to 180. Some people reported this will rotate lcd display while keeping touchscreen settings. Nothing happened in my device.

[Q] Touch screen resolution

Hi,
I have the following problem with my Xperia Neo (hallon):
My touch screen crashed some time ago, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Since then the touch screen works in most parts of the screen just fine. Only in the range around the navigation bar the touch screen does not work. I tracked my finger with the "pointer location" option so I can see that touches are recognized from 0x0 to 478x731 pixels. Beyond that "731 pixel line" the touch screen does not work, so the lower part of my screen does not react because its resolution is 480 x 854 pixels.
My assumption is that the touch screen resolution is too low for the new touch screen so I tried to increase it. I created a "/system/usr/idc/Vendor_0000_Product_0000.idc" file and set it according to the input device configuration guidelines and added a "build.scr" to my sdcard folder but nothing changed.
Any idea what my mistake is?

[Q] Miracast to fullscreen in portrait

Hi,
I'm trying to screen cast from a Nexus 4 to a large screen TV (using a PTV3000). I want to put the TV in portrait mode and have the screen case occupy the entire screen, however I don't seem to find a way to accomplish this. When the phone's orientation is vertical (portrait) it assumes the TV is in landscape orientation and the phone screen is displayed small in the middle of the TV with black space on the sides.
After doing some searching it seems that this behavior can only be changed with a custom ROM, however I haven't been able to pinpoint where in the AOSP tree this behavior can be changed. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you ever get the full screen to work?

[Q] Display viewport only at the right bottom of the screen

I have a Geniatech ATV1220 android set top box running android 4.2.2 and am using an arduino with motion sensor connected to it to modify content on a website when someone is in front of the sensor via NodeJS.
This works great, but what I would like to do is to manipulte the complete system viewport of the android system. For example if someone steps in front of the sensor, the whole system should be displayed in a reduced size like 1/4 original at the bottom right side of the screen while the other area should just display black or basically nothing.
It is really hard to find something because of the pretty common keywords like display, viewport, size and so on. I could probably do it dependent on individual applications but I also want to use it in third party applications, which I cannot modify.
Currently I am sometimes using commands like this:
Code:
echo 1 >/sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank
to modify the actual content that is displayed, in this case it all turns black/blank and I wonder if there is a similar way to achieve what I want to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Bug when bringing up android buttons whilst zooming on photo.

When browsing photos (e.g. In WhatsApp or Google Photos) if I zoom in, then tap the screen to bring up the android hardware buttons at the bottom of the screen, the picture returns to it's unzoomed state.
This problem is really part of the larger problem that tapping to bring up the android hardware buttons causes the screen to resize and place the buttons underneath it, when a much better solution would be to overlay the buttons onto the existing screen. Does anyone know if any part of these issues can be changed / solved?
this is known issue and it has been fixed in EMUI 9.0

Color settings only applying to second screen, game settings the opposite

Title, pretty much. I change my color settings and they only apply to the dual screen when attached, and not at all when disconnected. It's the exact opposite with specific game settings. I can change a game's resolution and framerate settings and this works on the main screen, but NOT on the dual screen. When I swipe the app on lower settings from the main screen to the dual screen I can see the resolution increase.
EDIT: Specs - Verizon model, newest update. Which I'm irritated about because I kept myself on the base firmware this whole time waiting for root and finally gave up, hoping it would fix this, along with a plethora of other issues. It fixed some of the minor ones, but not the big ones like this or others.
