Droid DNA stuck pixel or defect in glue? - HTC Droid DNA

So I noticed on my droid sms if I turn my auto brightness off and keep my screen on the brighter side and tilt the phone a certain way I see a green dot. When I til it to the right I see green, then red. The other way I see red then green. Straight on and if I tilt the top of the phone towards me the dot is no longer visible. I doubt its a stuck pixel due to how it acts. It is NOT visible on black or any other color from normal viewing angles. I saw a similar effect on my Razr HD when I had an otterbox on it due to a weird texture on the screen protector. Thanks for any help!

Do you have a case that is putting pressure on the back of the phone. Dots appearing are usually from pressure being pushed on the back of the phone.

I have the seidio surface case, but its literally like the size of a pixel. Its there without the case on as well. I remember seeing someone post about the HTC One having a similar problem and came to the conclusion it was an abnormality under the glass in the glue or something. I have a TINY piece of dirt under the digitizer as well but every other DNA I have owned had multiple dead and stuck pixels, horrible capacitive button bleed, backlight bleed, or extreme uneven backlighting. Most of these were a combination of pixels and backlight. So I'm keeping this one, just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Edit: nevermind

Nvm? I just find it odd it disappears at normal viewing angles. On my 32" from a few years ago I have a stuck green sub pixel and its only visible if I look directly at the screen head on. It wouldn't only appear at an angle if it was a stuck pixel, right? It also seems when I use Auto Brightness it is almost impossible to find, even at an angle. Its still there just need to use shaper angles. Its also a LOT dimmer than say, at 50-100% in the dark. During the day its almost not there when the screen gets brighter. In the sun it looks like there might be something above the spot but I'm not sure. Anyone else having this issue? It took me almost a week to find it.

I didn't read your entire post.
Anyway, the pixels are so close together I can't imagine it being too noticeable. If you can see the green pixel at a certain brightness keep it at that brightness and run a dead pixel fixer.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

Well its not thay I see a green pixel. When I look at the screen normally its not there at all, at any brightness. If I tilt it away from me and to the left or right the dot becomes visible. To the right its green and then red if I tilt it farther. If I tilt it to the left it goes from red to green. They aren't bright. I had a DNA with a stuck green pixel and a stuck red one and this definitely isn't a stuck pixel. If it is, its news to me. They were obvious on everything. This one can't be seen unless I view my phone from an angle.

Edit 2: I don't recommend it but you can rub the screen with the cap of a sharpee wrapped in something soft. This can damage the screen, so its up to you to try. I wouldn't worry about it if you can't see it during normal usage though.
Edit: you'll obviously have to rub kind of hard but use your best judgement.

Actually the blue works. No black dot on blue.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

Just checked all the colors. No black dots on any color, no stuck or dead pixels show up, until on gray or black at an uncomfortably odd angle this odd spot shows
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

I don't think its a problem unless your usually looking at your phone at an odd angle. If it really bothers you, you can always try to get a warranty replacement, but I severely doubt they would replace your phone for one broken pixel.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app

Yeah, plus I'm 99.9% sure its not broken or stuck... Again because it works on all colors like it should. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this odd occurrence.

Screen issues?

Ii just traded my epic touch and got this phone plus 2 otterbox's and 100 bucks and hdmi cable. Problem is on a bright white screen I can see these black almost invisible shadows near the middle of the screen that won't go away or change shape. Anyone know what this is?
I believe its The back lights, they are on both of my photons but only can see them when the sun is shining on the screen

This is pretty much all the time that I can see them, I have to look for them, but not too hard. It's like a shadow shade type look.
Mine looks like a checkerboard across the whole screen
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
thats the pentile display lol. mine is shaped random, like an amoeba
Does it change at all when you adjust the screen brightness.
it looks pretty much the same. doesnt change shape.
Are you within the exchange period?

"amoeba" LOL... reminds me of that live wallpaper that was going around with the microscope image of sperm swimming around on the screen.
I bought the phone off of a person, so I doubt it. Lol yeah amoeba.
I fixed the screen issue,

I had a problem
My first photon had a light patch a splotchy patch on the left side of the phone, I returned it and got a new one, no light splotchy patch any more.
The pentile screens are great, crisp, sharp, real colors, great for viewing outdoors and use less power.
If you set your photons 4g display to AUTO BRIGTHNESS, you will not see any screen door effect, if you use the phone on mid to higher brightness you will, Auto brightness is truly the best setting for these displays.
No issues with my second unit, others comment on how good the screen looks, one of them has an i phone.
On most phones auto brightness is not your friend, on the photon it is definitely the setting to use.
Not to be off topic, but my screen doesn't look like a checkerboard when its Otterbox Defender.

Yep there is a topic on it in general section I think. "ink marks" or something. Personally I think it is not a major problem. I have 2 or 3 tiny spots but most of the time we don't use the phone in a pitch black environment, nor are we looking at a pure black screen (how often do you spend in the homescreen?). It would however be an issue if it was noticable during movies, games etc, where the viewing experience is paramount

Yes true, it would be an issue if it was visible while watching movies and such.. but question is how long should this ink spot last compare to the other parts of the screen?
What does this ink indicate?
Yes I have them and it annoys me. And I don't understand why people defend it and say it's okay, we've all paid a lot of money for these phones how is it okay or acceptable to have black dots all over the screen? Yes it's only under very specific conditions but that's not the point, it is extremely annoying watching movies when they fade to black, when in the app launcher under dark conditions. And it's not just 1 or 2 small dots it's like someone broke a black pen and flicked it all over the screen.
It's just the way how the amoled is made. Every amoled has it. Don't worry. U won't notice that after while

I've only had the phone a few days now so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt since everything I've read is saying you get used to it but...... It's there..... There are dots on the screen every time there's black, how do you get used to that? I understand every AMOLED screen has it but don't you think that if it's that big a problem then the screens aren't ready for prime time and need to improved? I've found myself using white everywhere when black is what saves battery on an AMOLED screen and black looks good on an AMOLED screen but I can't stand the dots.

I have it too, annoying to know they're there but not that big of a deal in every day use. Still buggers me every once in awhile tho.

Yellow Marking

After using my phone for a while today, a yellow spot appeared in the lower left corner. It isn't part of the normal screen, and appears over any whitish colors. It looks like a cigarette smoke stain almost. It won't go away, and is very noticeable over white, though it's invisible over dark colors. Does that sound like a damaged screen?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
How long ago did you get the phone? I recall someone talking about something similar with the nexus 4, where it was the glue holding the screen on was not fully cured, causing it to have yellow spots.
Edit: Here is the thread I saw it on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1990276 Does it look like that?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Somewhat, but lighter in a different location. Probably the same thing. I've had it since November 20 or so. Crap. First my casing split and now this... for such a well built phone it sure has a lot of issues with build....

I also have the blue tint at the top of the screen one of the links posted talked about. Well fantastic. The best phone ever has paper skin and glass bones.

Blue tint on screen? Basically a blue dot.

So recently I noticed my screen has a blue spot when displaying white. It's slightly notice to be annoying. It's not visible with blacks and less so with other colors. What to do with warranty as a last resort? Will warranty claim actually fix the phone instead of replacing it?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Is a case applying pressure to the back of the phone. That's usually where the blue dot comes from. Something is applying pressure to the screen.

Is blue just in one spot on the screen?

Its an isolated spot at the top of the keyboard it is about 2-3 mm wide. I will try taking it out of the case and see if it goes away.
Sometimes cases can put pressure on the screen and cause blue dots to appear.

I took it out of the case for at least 14 hours and nothing changed. I am okay with it as long as it doesnt spread. Really don't want to warranty it and get a locked DNA after running CM
I would kee it too, having a locked bootloader will be more irritating.
I've got a faint blue dot also and no case.

It happens to a lot of DNAs.. Idk something about internals pressing against screen.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium
yep, if you push on the back between the htc logo and the other logos, you can see the ripple effect. there's a soft spot on there.
my first DNA had the issue, and i only used a TPU case. i'm thinking it was from having it in my pocket, screen facing out and crouching and sitting down and stuff. it would probably put pressure against the back and cause that ripple and that eventually led to a constant blue haze. i returned it right after noticing it..was very sad. lol
So this is a common issue then? I just noticed it on mine today. Will they fix it under warranty? I've only had the phone for about 2 weeks.

Did you guys with the blue dot send the phone out to get Jtagged?
If so, the blue dot is an overtightened screw (Did it to mine when I JTagged it... Pop the back off and loosen the screw a little bit... It might not ever go away, but it lessens he effect... Also lessens the possibility of the screen cracking from it)
