galaxy s2 i9100 thinks i have aux connected when nothing is - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm really sorry if this is a re-post but i couldnt find it anywhere....similar problems but not the same.
My galaxy s2 i9100 thinks i have an auxiliary wire connected so it wont play music or ring or o. if i actually connect headphones or car radio aux wire it works perfect........here and there it will work normally without plugging anything into it...also the loudspeaker works fine. i thought maybe something is stuck, or loose, i opened the phone disconnected the speaker/secondary mic/vibrator bundle...cleaned connectors...n connected it again....no luck......i completely replaced it after that...and still the same problem persists.....plz help!!!!
Ps i already completely factory reset including usb.

Wow....theres a problem that nobody on xda has an answer to? Thats a first....i should be given a prize lol

Since you seem to have tried almost everything, I suggest you take it to a Service Centre and have it checked.

[Q] slow/distored sound with android car stereo unit

whats up guys, this seemed the best place to post this since it doesnt pertain to any of the devices listed here. i have the Dynavin Android unit (www .dynavin .com / android.php) in my car and im having an issue that so far it seems only 2 other users have had.
with this unit there are 2 "sides", 2 different computers in one is guess you can say. the am/fm radio, CD/DVD, bluetooth, etc is all completely separate from the android OS side. whats happening to me is ALL sound played on android gets distorted, slow, and staticy. i have reinstalled the firmware numerous times, used different SD cards, i have tried different apps, it happens with music from the SD card and internet music, it even happens with the sounds when u adjust the volume. nobody on our huge thread at e46fanatics can figure it out and only 1 or 2 other people have had the issue.
the weird part is that many times it will play fine for a few minutes and then start to slow down, and even rebooting doesnt help at that point. im thinking maybe it could be overheating, but even with the a/c blasting in the car it happens. and the radio/cd part is completely unaffected.
thoughts?
nobody has any idea? its android 2.2
geez tough crowd
ANY ideas?
dammit....
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Can you post a link to the beemer forum thread?
Kind of sounds like a faulty unit though...

Wow, that's a sizeable thread!
Looks an interesting device. What troubles me is that it appears to be an intermittent issue. I'd agree that heat could be a culprit, possibly - I'd be tempted to try running it out of the car for an extended period of time and see if that helps.
You could also try OSMonitor or similar and see if you can monitor internal temperature. If the ROM is rooted, you could even try under or overclocking it and see if that helps.
Car audio I can cope with, but Android debugging not so much - you could try doing a logcat (assuming you can hook up via USB) and see if it gives you useful info when it's freezing up.
I have to say, this is screaming out for you to install Torque on it and a bluetooth ODBII scanner...!

yea its not rooted and the manufacturer doesnt seem to want to help with that, and they cant seem to replicate any of the issues the units are having (including force close loops). as for Torque, problem is that the bluetooth doesnt work with the android part, it only works on the radio part for phone calls or streaming music. its like 2 separate OS's in one unit.

The Android side of the unit has a hardwired OBD connection available, and the latest units have an OBD software module.

The unit also has USB ports on the back, that talk to the Android side. You can attach a powered USB hub to that to gain more ports. This way you can add a WiFi USB dongle, and even a BT dongle via USB.

You need to make sure the USB hub is powered independently.

X10 mini pro and headphones compatibility

Hi and sorry if stupid question. Searched but didn't fine anything about this.
My X10 mini pro headphones can't be used on other (say, phones, laptops) because pins are used differentely. Sound is crappy unless I push the headphone button (And I don't want to do this all day long LOL).
Same if I plug 'normal' headphones into the X10. Is this normal?
Can it be changed? If not, it means I'm stuck with SE accessories only? That'd suck big time...
Thank for your help.
Lookin for work around for this.. came up ur thread... i m tryin to use a Samsung Galaxy stock headphones and can't get them to work right... i guess jacks vary...
Is there any work around for this? Anyone? Thank you

I use Sennheiser headphones fine on my X10MP. Are the headphones 3 pin aswell? normal stereo headphones with no mic etc should work fine, it's just the microphone that's dodgy with these pin setups. try a standard stereo and see if they work

problem with the earphone jack

Hello I have a problem with the headset connector: no matter physically connected headphones or no phone shows that they are connected, and all of the audio files to be played on the phone go to the headset jack, but maybe, the headset is off, I can not hear anything. Maybe you can somehow disable the connector? Speaker as 100% because when I get a call through it audible ringtone. And the earpiece works too, (there is a glitch in the phone, if you go into diktovon, and then you go out of it, then all milodii played through the earpiece)
Maybe somewhere in the system that you want to delete?
Phone Samsung Galaxy ACE GT s5830 firmware acetyl CyanogenMod 10.1-20130224-nightky cooper S5830XXKPH
On the standard firmware same problems.
Excuse me for my english, I'm from Russia.

looks to me more of an hardware issue I'm afraid you might need to visit Samsung's Service Center
But please roll back to stock rom before you go there
If I go to a center ervisny Samsung, I can tell you that you need to put a new motherboard, but it is half the cost of the phone, can there are any programs that can test the phone for errors? (The phone has a separate module to the speaker and 3, 5 jack that connects to the motherboard, if I knew exactly what the problem is there, then it would go to the service center he would have changed it) (Jack was accidentally lodged DC 12 volt)

Ahh there you have it the 12V dc current would have made hell out if the audio circuit and don't be afraid they'll not replace the motherboard only the module you mentioned would be changed I guess it would be anything around $10 to $20 that's the only way to fix it
But if you are wanting then play music on your phone and give me logcat of that time I'll check for sotware issues

some do not understand, what is a logcat and where to get it?
You can get the logcat using android SDK.. it is a command under ADB to get the device logs.. Please find more details in the below link..

Here is my log, but so far out of logtsat, it will be enough?
Will see and tell

Sorry bro but you will have to replace the audio circuit the Logcats are clean
Sent from my A116 using Tapatalk 2
That is necessary to change the module QSP01? Or what else the elements?
Only the audio related parts need change I don't have the phone can't tell exactly what you need to change

[Q] Android 4.0.4 music player problem

Hi,
I have a strange problem with my desire X, when im listening to music in any music player (stock, winamp or any other) or watching a video through DX player, it will pause the music from time to time. I cant pinpoint what is the cause of that issue, i tried turning off beats audio, listening without headphones, while charing the battery, with and without internet connection, air plane mode, or different sd card.
Any had a similar problem?
Any possible solutions?

It's a known bug in the JB update for the Desire X, I'm afraid you'll have to bear it while HTC get their act together. At the moment there's no way to fix it, I'm afraid. Next time have a quick look around the forums before you post the same question as many other people

Maybe I have a clue. Actually this phone has a feature that it pauses all media video audio players if you disconnect the headphones or hand free. My guess is that your audio jack is faulty due to which the phone thinks that it has a headphone which got disconnected hence pauses the video or audio. Some lose connection inside the jack. Have some technician look at the audio jack, I hope it will be fixed. Had a similar issue with my previous desire. It's joystick was faulty causing forward or rewind in players.

Hmm, ill try to clean it.
As for the damaged cable, i seriously doubt thats the cause, because it happened on my headphones, on the jack from the speakers and on the jack from the car tape( for the casette tape radio ).
Thanks to all for the reply.
Hopefully i will be able to solve the problem, and maybe one day i will be able to get the update to jelly bean.
Time ago I had the same problem on an old Nokia 5310 and it was due to a rusty jack that messed up the jack input.
It worked fine after I used a cloth and some alcohol to clean it.

[Q] s2 showing battery charging without connecting charger

Hi phone s2 i9100g is showing charging without charger connected. no water damage. Is it a serious issue. Another issue is sometime my all audio/video appc faces struggle in running.(not running smoothly). Are both issues related. And what is the solution.
It's called "ghost charging" and it has been extensively discussed (and solved) many times. Search and you'll find those threads.

Yeah it happens. Happened to me a couple months back. Above poster is correct, there's a lot of threads on it. Most of them won't mention ghost charging though, so to tip you off..... you need to replace the USB flex board. However, I'm not sure of the procedure for an i9100G, something the above poster doesn't mention... I'm not too sure how many threads you'll find for the "G" variant. Long and the short of it, you need to replace the USB flex board. Up to you if you DIY or pay someone to do it.
As far as your phone not running smoothly goes, when did you last do a factory reset? Back up everything you need (via Kies, I assume you're not rooted). Messages, contacts (sync them to a google account), and anything else you can think of. Note you'll lose all your apps with a factory reset, but your photos & videos will be fine.

Thanks for reply. Actually I have changed 4-5 roms and getting this problem(charging+audio/video smoothness, even caller tune) in all. Now i flash stock via odin but no help. actually i have to press(little) phone down from screen after connecting charger for charging. I am thinking these two are related because may be faulty usb port makes some short circuit type thing which makes error in audio smoothness.
Either all sound related apps get struggle or all run smoothly in both speaker and headphone. i think my audio gets error that why video also face problem in running.

My apologies as well for assuming you weren't rooted (see the importance of telling the information when asking for help?).
I can't say if they're related, unfortunately I don't know much about the hardware layout of our phones. But the way to move forward is definitely to get the USB board fixed first. Then see what happens to the audio problem. If you don't have any luck with that, then post up and we'll see.
I faced the same issue in my xperia sl , but it was not so serious , just connect the charger again and remove ....

Ya sure. let I change usb port first and see what happens to audio issue. By the way thanks a lot for your kind reply.
I too had this issue. But a little meticulous cleaning of the USB port solved it. You could try that first, just to be sure.
