One thing I dislike - G2 General

LG puts a status bar icon up top for everything you turn on. I hate the fact 4G stays up there even with wifi on. By default i'm over 50% full up there.

I second that and it has done that with every android phone I have had on AT&T

On AT&T the 4G icon doesn't stay.

On ATT the 4G goes away but we're stuck with carrier branding on the left side
Edit....nvm, ^^^^^^beat me to it

It's Verizon's demand for it to stay. Like others have shown other models do not do this.

FWIW, the HTC one I had before his did the exact same thing, so it isn't just the G2 but likely is a Verizon thing.

At least AT&T doesn't put their logo on them anymore, unlike Verizon.

Guess this is me but I like seeing the 4G connection bars when on Wifi, so if my Wifi connection is meh then I can see if my 4G is good enough to switch

Interesting, I can't connect to corp (corporate?) 4G though. I like the little animation.
Maybe it's a widget.slip up and it's just for here?

Funny thing is I should be able to being I'm on a corp account, I'm using it right now for quick connecting to 4g

Any different or faster?
It's not good for a on off toggle as it leaves the radio on.

Connects faster that's all, and no it goes back to 3g when I'm on "corp 4g"

Video/Voice Calls?

Should we be able to do Video Calls to other phones with front camera? I recall some ROMS from SGS to Captivate occasionally having an issue with the Video call button still on the screen. However I don't see any such on these.
I believe att disabled it.

Jerks...disable FM; disable video voice; might as well have deleted the front camera.
I'm sure we'll get a way around it some time.
GSM Arena shows the button on their US review. I thought they were using the ATT Model.

That is ridiculously crappy if carriers are going to block it out. I see where some Canadian carriers are making customers pay extra to use it.
Edit: Me thinks they removed the feature from all US phones so far. Checked the manuals for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mo online just now and none of them mention it. I'm guessing GSM Arena used screen caps from the international model.
Does this have anything to do with it? Don't know what SIP is.

All of our phones do this I believe what's the issue the white bars?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Its because the app wasnt designed for screens of our size/resolution
Tux approves of my EVO
We have 720P resolution displays. The XDA app is designed for the majority of current gen (since we have "next gen" phones) phones that are HDPI. The actual app elements themselves will scale properly to your phone, but fixed-resolution images such as splash screens and other images will be a bit distorted.
Yes, the white bars. Looks terrible.

Better question: Why does it matter?
Dude he was just asking a harmless question. Chill a bit.

If you use the dark theme under settings it changes it to black and makes it less noticeable

When in "cdma only" mode, I get 1x ...

...instead of 3g. I thought upgrading to ICS firmware might help this issue, but no change. Is this a known issue, you either get 4g or 1x.....just wondering
I'm on latest viperRez..

When you say cdma only mode, do you mean lte+cdma/evdo? Cdma only mode does.t use evdo, and that might be your problem. This is the one you want to use to access 3g, and 4g.

If you wanna use the cdma 3g only you have to set the phone to cdma auto prl.

Interesting , so I've been doing it wrong for about a year...that sucks. So I wanna use either "cdma + lte/evdo auto" or "cdma auto prl" ? I'm Verizon btw.....
Thank you

Pixilated images.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have been having a problem with images since I upgraded to kit kat. They are extremely pixilated and very difficult to view. My camera and gallery are fine, it is actually when viewing pictures in apps such as the chive and Groupon. I am also attaching images from Craigslist so others can see what I'm talking about. I did not have this issue on any JB roms. Since going to kitkat I have used kitkatkiller and sacs rom and have the problem on both. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Well I noticed today that I don't have this issue while in wifi. Is there some way to load hq images when on the 4g/3g network? I'm sure there has to be a setting I'm overlooking.

This is not just related to the Note 3. The image over-compression is not device specific. It would appear sprint is implementing a new way to manage network capacity.
