As you all may or may not know, the messaging app on the international version is available in Qslide, but on the VZW it is not. I suspect this is the case because VZW has installed their own messaging app.. I am wondering if someone with a messaging app that works with Qslide would be willing to share the messaging apk with us VZW users to see if we are able to install it and use the Qslide feature. I will test as soon as I receive my phone tomorrow evening but if someone is able to do it before them, more power to you.

thank you... like i said. i get my G2 tomorrow. Hopefully someone is able to pull the apk before then so i can test. i will work on pulling the systemui as well. can i do that while booted into the rom? I didn't think i could....

this is not my port its hazmatics posted on his twitter but i flashed on my mytouch 4g with cm7.0.2 and its working perfect haven tried video chating yet as i dont have anyone to try it with flash at ur own risk and i am not responsible for anything that happens to ur phone

Bah! WiFi only. I can't do that at work because they don't give us the wifi password. I bet someone enables this to work over data sooner or later. it being friday, and me being a drunk- i probably won't try it today. lol

thanks to G1-evolve for helping out with testing.
seems like it works flawlessly over wifi, even better IMO compared to tango/qik/fring. interface could use a little work though, but stability > style. lets hope the devs take this and enable this to be used over 3g/4g.
this came out much faster than expected. =D
did a test call from my phone to my gf's computer. the video of her to my phone was HORRIBLY delayed (like 15 seconds, ,maybe more. didn't count) and she could not see a video of me at all. instead she saw my google profile picture.

It works for everyone except T-Mobile cough. Nexus s has the same problems on T-Mobile.

First, let me say by no means should I be trying any of this, because I don't really know much about how to modify software on Android devices. I've seen the .apk from AOSP taken and used on the Thunderbolt to replace the stock HTC text messaging app. Is there any way possible to take the .apk from some Motorola version of Android to swap in the Motorola text messaging app? That was by far the best looking messaging app in my opinion. I've tried simple .apk swaps and that doesn't do it. I'm just trying to figure out if its even possible or is it to entangled in the Blur b/s for me to even ask for help?

It's lpssibly, but It would require decompiling the apk and making some edits probably to the smali. You might be able to just delete it from the xml somehow. My experience doesn't go that far. If that doesn't work, maybe try one of the other messaging services from the market, there should be one there that works for you.

Hi guys,
This just ocurred to me. I was reading that the korean jb has multiwindow and that its hardware is very similar to our notes. Both use a snapdragon S3 and the adreno 220. Can it be posible to port? I was just trying to port multiwindow into my own and I was able to make flashbar appear, get the toggle in settings. When you open the first app it opens like normal, now the second you see that it has the little box to divide the screen, but it opens the second app in full. But you'll see a bar in the middle that is the divider for multiwindow. I don't know something im missing or something. Will post pics later So you can see what im talking about.

No. It's like I opened the app in full, but I see the divider.
Maybe the apps themselves are tide into the multi window app. Have you installed the browser from the Korean note and tried it like that?

I believe lildoggs may be somewhere in the general direction. I've been reading threads from the n7000 and note 2 threads about modding apps to be capable with multiwindow, if they aren't already supported. So if you can install the browser and maybe messenger app from the korean note, and they work that would be great. If not maybe try this tutorial from this thread to modify a few apps yourself and see if it works.
also check out this multi window manager app from the playstore if indeed you did get it working to maybe mod an app. I'm not dev, but just throwing out some things I think may be of some use to you.
I'm currently at work but will try them when I get home. Like I mentioned before from my research I see that we already have the smali files for multiwindow inside services.jar. Maybe we need the apps to be compatible.

Ok guys I have tried the Mms.apk and the browser from the N7000 rom with MultiWindow and there were a no go. They open like normal apps. Back to search if Im missing anything.

Some guys over on the Note2 have found that there is a module for exposed called all apps it looks like that allows any app to be used with the multi window.

Tried the xposed method but still gets me the same results. Eventhough the modules allow to use any app in multiwindow. I must be missing something in the jar that Im not seeing. Will look into it tonight. Thanks to everyone for you help btw. Any idea is welcome.

i've been trying myself. can't seem to make it work without the framework source. has it been released yet? nothing on sammobile for the i717.

I was surprised as well. That's why I threw a zip together.
I'm using all of them. Can't really tell much of a difference with most. Very subtle changes. Pull to refresh in email, and its more like the gmail app in design. Clock has a better way of sewtting the alarm and the font looks cleaner. Google now is improved. Thats about it as far as I can tell.
I do like the launcher though.

Gallery will still FC trying to edit, and the camera icon is different, but thats all I can tell. I dont use the camera much. Photosphere is kinda cool, but I think thats in the old camera as well.
Hows the battery drain with the new launcher? I'm assuming with google now always running (or is it not?) it can be a drainer.
Hasn't been any worse for me. Technically, its always running all the time anyway even in the old system.
Not too impressed with the launcher, using some of the apk's though

You can extract them and install almost all of them one by one. I think maps and clock are the only ones that wont over right whats currently there. I had to delete them before I could get them to install properly without just pushing the APK over the current version with ADB.
Also, Some apps wont work properly without the libs. You'll need to be rooted to push the libs to /system/lib/

That's because you didn't have the lib files. Its working perfectly for me.
I've been running these for about a few days, but my Hangouts kept force closing. Seemed to happen more when I received MMS, but wasn't everytime. Anyone else experience this?
