Problem on booting s2 - not working since rebooted - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
have a problem with my galaxy s2:
just updated my s2 to the latest nightly of cyanogenmod "cm-10.2-20130921-NIGHTLY-i9100".
my old kernel was: dorimanx 9.34 + rootbox 4.2
after update it booted to cyanogenmod and worked for few minutes. then it showed some errors like "android.core.*" stopped working. after reboot it can´t even boot on recovery mode. download mode is still availabile, flashing to old kernel + firmware doesn´t help anything.
same probelm: no boot (stuck at bootscreen)
anyone has an idea what to do?
thanks in advice

Have you tried wiping data in recovery when it stuck in boot loop.
Also did you format system before you flashed cm 10.2

I got it to work fine on my S2. Played around on it for a few hours, got everything installed. Then bam, upon restart I get boot loop. Wiping cache/delvik didn't work. Various tutorials recommend repeating the install process and/or continuing to factory wipe until it works.
EDIT: I have repeated the process. Make sure that before you install CM/Gapps, you factory reset, wipe cache and delvik. Have reset the phone several times and it now works.

[Q] Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure when trying to Wipe Data

Hey folks,
I've recently tried installing the latest version of the Siyah kernel (I had CL-Root before that).
I installed the Kernel from the zip on my sdcard,
after that I went to the main CWM menu and chose Wipe Data/Factory Reset on the menu,
everything went smooth until the following line:
Code:
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
I tried rebooting afterwards and went into a bootloop.
I re-installed the previous ROM I had using ODIN (this re-installed CL-Root which came with the ROM again) and tried rebooting, and again - bootloop.
I entered CWM again, and again chose Wipe Data/Factory Reset, and got the same error as above, but this time, after I rebooted, the O/S went up just fine...
Has anyone ever bumped into this? I really want to upgrade my kernel to Siyah, how can I do that without having this problem again?
Thanks!
hey m8 did u get any thing to solve this problem ? i have the exakt same in my Galaxy Note, really enojing
It may be an Odin file.
ive had that. try flashing a siyah 2.6.8 kernal when you bootloop via ODIN. so if it boot loops. dont wipe again. put it in download mode and flash the siyah .tar

[E4GT Galaxy s2] Pacman rom stuck on amination screen!!

Hello i am a newbie here. I recently installed Pacman rom the released version to my epic 4G touch galaxy s2 and it worked flawless. [[[How i installed it : 1) restored my phone to ICS. 2) Got Mobile Odin and got the add on to flash. 3) Flashed CWM EL29 4) Got into recovery and Wiped data/ factory reset. 5) Installed ROM and GAPPS 6) Wiped Cache and Dalvik and i rebooted.]]]Then i saw the new cyanogen 11 and i decided to get but when i got into recovery it would say an error trying to install the rom. So i wanted the Pacman rom back so i went and restored my E4GT to ice cream sandwhich FJ12. After that i installed mobile odin and got the add on thingy to flash. Next I clicked Kernel and flashed CWM EL29 v.5.0. I did the steps again. Wipe/Data Factory reset. I installed the ROM and GAPPS. I wiped cache partition and dalvik cache. So when i rebooted it.. It took me to the boot animation with pacman chasing the ghost and the bottom saying pacman with the animation glowing different colors.I waited and waited for about 10 mins and nothing happened. It still stood there! I also noticed that when it was doing this, i tapped the home button and the keys lit up. I kept tapping the keys and nothing happened to the screen. It stayed the animation. I restored back to ICS again. Did all the exact same steps. It still stayed there! I kept restoring to ICS and did what i kept on doing but i tried different steps in recovery mode. Still sits there at the screen animation. After like 8 times of failure.. I tried to go and restore GB28 Jellybean stock and then restore to ICS stock. When the downloading process finished, the virgin mobile animation kept repeating and never wanted to load the screen. So i went back to ICS and tried to get Pacman rom for the ninth time. I failed. Help me! I also noticed that when i go to wipe dalvik cache.. Before wipe it says something in the bottom " extsd-not found " something like that. But i still wipe it. So please help if you can!

[Q] [Help] Cyanogenmod stuck in boot loop

I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 and tried to install cyanogenmod 10.2, but I can't start it, it gets stuck in the cyanogenmod splash screen and doesn't get any further.
Here's what I did originally: I flashed clockworkmod (via Odin) and booted into recovery. I then installed the cyanogenmod zip file that I had copied onto the sdcard.
When it failed to boot, I tried several things: I flashed TWRP (via Odin) and then did a factory reset and system wipe, installed cyanogenmod (from TWRP) and did the factory reset again. Same problem, the system will get stuck in the boot loop. I also tried an earlier version of cyanogenmod, same problem.
I am quite sure that I downloaded all the right files for my device. I searched online and saw other people who had that problem, and solved it by wiping the cache/data after the install. This didn't work for me.
I don't know what else to try, so please reply if you have any ideas!
Thanks :fingers-crossed:
Not sure bout it but flash only the cm kernel via cwm then reboot to recovery again n factory reset then install the Rom all the best

Stuck on boot animation (cyanogenmod)

I was using my phone and all had been working fine for ages. It was in my pocket for a while and when i took it out to use it I saw that it was on the boot animation of CM11. My phone was already on when I last used it so I had assumed it had crashed. I took the battery out and turned the phone on again but it got stuck on the CM boot animation. The last time I turned on my phone before that was when I flashed a supersu zip file to make my root work as I was having some problems. After flashing the supersu zip and told my CWM recovery to restart the system, it prompted me to "fix root" or something like that, and I clicked yes and it booted normally. That was the last time it booted normally before being stuck as it is now. First thing I did after it got stuck was go into recovery and reflash my current rom ( a CM11 snapshot) I then got faced with a status 7 error and so couldnt flash the rom. So then I flashed multiple other CM11 roms, none of which worked, so I flashed a CM10.2 stable rom which worked. I then got faced with the fix root before reboot thing and so I clicked yes. Still had the stuck booting thingy. I tried many things, flashing kernals roms gapps etc and nothing made a difference. I wiped cache, dalvik cache and no difference. I even wiped the system and tried to flash roms but only the 10.2 one would work, still got a status 7 with the CM11 ones. When I wiped my data however and flashed CM 10.2, it booted. I still couldn't flash the CM11 roms though even after a factory reset. So I have the reason to believe something in the data is wrong, not cache system or anything like that. What could it be? I don't want to have to lose all my data in order to be able to use my phone again, even then, something is still wrong as my phone won't flash CM11 roms anymore. So my questions are;
What things could have caused this?
Can this be a problem from flashing the supersu zip (a root issue)
Is it possible to somehow view or copy the internal data on a computer (since I cant get into the operating system), and this would allow me to get all my pictures contacts music etc anything so I can use my phone by wiping data?
Thanks, sorry this is quite long and probably hard to understand whats going on, but help is appriciated thanks
Don't fix root if you wish to use SuperSU instead builded-in cm superuser. Also try to flash via Odin latest recovery. TWRP should be fine. You can mount partitions from recovery level to download data to your computer. Of course if it still exists. If not, if they are corrupted you need to flash stock ROM and repeat whole cm11 adventure again. If Odin successfully flash the stock then it's a chance your partition layout and user data are untouched.

Problem with booting device after updating system

Hi.
I have a slight problem with my device. Yesterday, after installing new update via updater my device cant boot the system. It stays on black screen with "MI" then "Powered by android" appears and nothing happens (waited couple of hours, but still nothing). I've tried to wipe cache, dalvik cache and factory reset via recovery - still nothing.
My device was flashed to have TWRP and then supersu - haven't used any other modifications.
Can anyone please help?
Cheers
Same here, TWRP backup also seems gone and cant manually install the update ROM nor the previous stable one.
My problem is solved.
I've flashed miui v.6.7.5 via miFlash and then installed new release through recovery and it works just fine.
