Bricked - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I have looked everywhere on the internet and I can't seem to find any solution for my problem so I thought I would post here. I bricked my Galaxy Ace when I was trying to upgrade the ROM quite some time ago, I have tried to unbrick with odin, odin oneclick, oneclick unbrick and none of those seem to recognize my phone. I think that the trouble is that there is something wrong with my phone and my computer cannot detect it. I was just wondering if there are any other ways to unbrick??
-Any help greatly appreciated

I have the drivers installed, that is the part I don't get. I have tried to install them just plugged in and also had programs install them for me and downloaded off the internet. So I definitely have the drivers.

Pretty much, but its not only that. I am pretty sure that my PC can't even detect my phone. Well it detects it to an extent, it always says driver installation failed and it doesn't seem to recognize it for long.

Maybe your USB Port is damaged or not connected. Try another port or reinstall driver.

I get the tick but I am pretty sure it still doesn't recognize it properly. The main problem is that my Odin will not detect phone.

Well, I have this experience while flashing my friend's phone and here what I've done:
-reboot my computer
-connect the phone, kill all kies related process (I'm using Windows) and start odin. If odin recognise your phone at this point, you are good to go else you might want to reinstall usb drivers.
-use full wipe odin files I found from internet (I got from the pirate bay with search key ics full wipe)
-got few files in that folder. Hope you know their function. Or you can ask here.
Hope this helps.
edit: you also can try to plug into different usb port that have different usb controller

If Odin adds and removes quickly, this looks like your USB cable is dead, try flashing with another - Genuine- one
I had a similar issue while flashing my former SGS1: flashing process interrupted suddenly at 50%
A similar kind of thing happened to my phone as well when I was upgrading to 4.0.4 from gingerbread via Kies. The installation got stuck when the phone was in the download mode and I had no other option than to disconnect. But yours got stuck while using Odin. I would suggest you to flash the firmware again. I hope your phone goes into download mode now. As for the drivers, uninstall everything related to samsung from your PC and then reinstall it. DO NOT UPGRADE SAMSUNG KIES IF IT ASKS YOU TO DO SO! AS I TOLD YOU A SIMILAR THING HAPPENED TO MY PHONE. MY PC COULD'NT RECOGNIZE IT AND I REINSTALLED EVEYTHING AND IT FINALLY SHOWED SOME SIGN. MAKE SURE YOUR ANTIVIRUS IS FULLY DEACTIVATED WHILE YOU EXECUTE THE FLASHING OPERATION!

first of all, while your phone is disconnected from USB cable, can you enter download mode?if no, then try to find someone that have JIG. else, as leech4 said, this might caused by your USB cable. OR might caused by your USB port of your PC. as i said earlier, try to repair your USB driver (not sammy USB driver, but your PC's usb driver). flash using ODIN, and kill kies services from task manager as kies will conflict with ODIN later. here i give you LSJ link(thanks to ApriliaM3) in case you don't have. extract the zip and use all the PDA, PHONE and CSC file. you can even use PIT to re-partition your system. (tested and proven to be working). good luck mate.:good:

Wow, I suspect this kind of brick or what so ever others called it. I've read some where, and they talking about JIG. If what they mean is the same like what I understood from my electronic knowledge, then you have to find someone that have JIG to do further troubleshooting directly from your board, not via usb. Well, I'm just saying. You might want to seek for other solution first since it's your device.

Have you installed the Kies drivers on your computer? I'm not 100% sure, but I think you may need USB Debugging enabled too. Try these and then try again. Remember to make sure you have killed all Kies related processes from your Task Manager before using Odin, as it could potentially mess up the flashing process.
Do you have Samsung Kies and all its necessary drivers installed?
*EDIT* Sorry, it seems like i didn't see your comment.

Ok, try these steps I found on Microsoft's support website:
As all the hardware devices have drivers associated similarly USB devices also have it. Sometimes proper drivers do not get detected after the initial installation so reinstallation of the drivers helps resolve the issues.
You may check after uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers if you are able to connect. You may disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.
* Note * If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
3. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
Check if at all there is an exclamation mark along the driver, it suggests issues with the driver installed.
4. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.
If you still face the same issue then you may check for the updated USB device drivers using windows update.
no luck

Try a different Micro-USB cable if possible, and in different USB ports in your computer.
Also try this:
1. Hold your phone and look at the micro USB connector on the bottom edge of your phone.
2. You will see a "tongue" inside the USB port.
3. Put something "non metalic" (I used a flat wooden toothpick) in the port. Gently, lift up the "tongue". I used a twirling motion on my toothpick to raise the tongue up a little bit. Don't go PRYING it up, just be gentle because you don't want to break your toothpick inside the phone or break the tongue.
no luck

As @sriram231092 said correctly you have to stop ALL of kies related processes.
The kies is important so your OS will have the required drivers so the device could be recognized.
After installing kies, make sure you do a reboot and then, just before you start ODIN close all the kies related processes.
I also suggest you run ODIN as admin if you're running win 7 or above.

Try to restart your pc/laptop? Take out the usb cable, restart windows, stop kies, start odin, plug in usb and it should say added.
Ps: you only needed kies to install your phone drivers, so make sure it has installed the drivers, you can check by normally starting your phone, plug in usb and see a popup msg.

LOL yeah

P769 hard brick?

a day after i rooted and flashed a rom on my l9, it just died, idk how. can't get into any kind of "mode". the strange thing is when i connect is via usb it tries to connect but a dialog box comes up in the bottom right saying "USB device not recognized" it makes the connect/disconnect sound over and over until i unplug it. Device manager doesn't show anything, it just keeps refreshing because the device is attempting to connect. I've tied different cables and different ports also, and no luck.

a day after i rooted and flashed a rom on my l9, it just died, idk how. can't get into any kind of "mode". the strange thing is when i connect is via usb it tries to connect but a dialog box comes up in the bottom right saying "USB device not recognized" it makes the connect/disconnect sound over and over until i unplug it. Device manager doesn't show anything, it just keeps refreshing because the device is attempting to connect. I've tied different cables and different ports also, and no luck.
any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

USB cable connectivity issue

Hi!
Whenever I connect my Samsung Galaxy Win it never shows any connectivity to the computer. Even the USB debugging mode is enabled. What could be the issue?
Thank you!
Does you system has "samsung usb drivers" if not please install it and then try to connect it.

NO! Still not connecting. Could this the reason for non-connectivity that cell phone has NO OTG support?

I have installed the latest USB drivers, downloaded from Samsung site. Plus, I have installed Samsung KIES to check whether I can connect the phone, but still it's not working. On the top lest of KIES, it displays Connect your phone.
Any help?

Does your phone used to connect properly beforethe problem, if the answer is yes,
Then you should reinstall ROM as it may be corrupted, i also had same problem but after re flashing ROM through Odin it was fine.
