The Glas.tr just has rounded edges whereas the Glas.t has square edges

Real simple is that the 'r' in 'tr' is for the rounded edges which fits the device's screen a bit better especially when applying a case around it.

thank you. And which of the two is the thinner? Wonder if there will be a glass protector with a 9H rating

Their thinnest is the glas.t Nano, much thinner than the other ones. I'm holding out for that one. The problem with the other ones is they are thick enough that the home button ends up being recessed, and you need a sticker on top of it to bring it flush with the protector. The nano is similar in thickness to plastic film protectors. They have one for the S4, not sure why they are listing the other models for the Note 3 and not the nano.

There is http://www.amazon.com/iloome-Screen...r-Oleophobic/dp/B00F4I4YE6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_1

So far Spigen offers the Glas.t Slim and Glas.tR Slim the Nano isn't available YET for the Note series and may or may not it just depends.

spigen told me via facebook, it WILL come, but no ETA yet,

I figured it was a matter of time, now I just wish they would step up and make a Slim Armor S-View which others really want as well.

Which case should I pick?

I'm trying to decide between two cases for my Galaxy S4. I've always used Otterbox Commuter cases, but I hate how bulky and unattractive they are. I've narrowed it down to these two. Out of the two, which one would you pick?
Spigen Slim armor:

Tech 21 Impact Mesh:
http://www.tech21.uk.com/Product/samsung_galaxy_s4_case_impact_mesh_smokey_colour
My friend works at T-mobile so with his discount, the Tech 21 will be about the same price as the Spigen.
I have the slim armor and its friggin sweet!! No bulk with moderate protection.

SlimArmor is nice - just concerned with minimal lip around screen. Waiting for this to arrive:

Spigen tampered glass protectors also look nice. Just throwing that out there.

Tempered glass protectors offer the ultimate in protection and feel - but careful with case selection. Even using the Spigen GlasT (.23mm) with the SlimArmor was a tight fit. The edges of the protector around the vol rocker kept coming up. I would think with the .4mm protectors, it's even more prone to do this.
Honestly whats the difference between the tempered glass screen protecters and normal ones cuz im using the one verizon gave me and its fine

Tempered glass offer much more protection from drops / scratches than anything plastic. Feel is also identical to screen without any protection. Again, the down side is that they are thicker than their film counterparts - and much more $$$$

the price is the big thing i dont really want to waste 30 bucks on a screen protecter but then again i do want this thing to be protected
Yea the spigen glass protectors are amazing. The feel exactly like actual screen. Plus they are a little more smug resistant. The only thing is that they're thick. Supposedly the spigen one isn't as thick as some other ones are.
They don't cost much more than zaggshields either.

Oh do you have a glass protector with your spigen case? And the protector lip is causing the case to push it up? Valuable info. Is it applied the best it can be? Just curious is all.

I chose the Spigen Glas.t over the Glas.tr because of thickness concerns with the Slim Armor case. With the Glas.t on, the case did fit - however I am having issues of the protector coming up where the volume rocker is. Ultimately, I believe if you use these type of glass protectors, you must choose a case that has a more pronounced edge around the display to keep this from happening.
your choice
It's your choice. choice the one YOU like.
I like the look of the Slim Armor more. I have a Spigen case and it fits very snug and is good quality. Only problem is some of the colors of the Slim Armor are ugly imho. I do like the slate and black but I heard the black is very fingerprint prone.
I'd go with the slim Armor. I got the silver neo hybrid today and love it. So sleek and sexy looking. Was a toss up between neo and slim Armor

The incipio dual pro is good too... I have it and love it!
i have the spigen tempered glass and its already chipped in a couple spots. Ive put in a ticket to see if they will replace it. I guess i will be getting a case from them also
just choose which you like, and the one suit for your phone.
I have the slim Armor metal slate and I love it best case ive had the otterbox just makes it bulky..

Thinnest case

I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid but I am looking for a thinner case that adds less width to the phone. Minimal protection is sufficient.
I bought a Ringke slim on ebay. Hard slim case. 9.99. I love it. Adds hardly any size to phone and its cheap

Does it comes with the hole for sling? I used to have one for my Note 2. Slim and light but minimal protection.
I have all the spigen cases for the note 3, i think the best one is the bounce, the crappiest one is the neo hybrid.
And yes the thinnest is the bounce, and the thickest is the slim armor

search ebay for "0.3mm note 3 case". It's basically a semi hard plastic wrap/case that is super thin and only provides scratch protection. They're dirt cheap too. like $1 each. I bought a dozen and can replace them at will.

Too much bulk... And I've had bad experiences with bumpers messing up the signal. I don't really care about drop protection, just want to protect it from scratches and dirt.
Diztronic is the thinnest TPU I've used, it was ten bucks shipped from Amazon and fits in the holster that the Seido surface uses.

Agreed.. I've tried both caseology cases and also bear motion bumpers.. and some other ones. Diztronic by far the thinnest while still covering all sides of the phone.

Only the corners are protected and it's actually one of the lightest cases and since it's made of rubber you wont have signal interruptions. Only metal bumpers cause those.
Do any of the suggested covers and bumpers raise the back to protect the camera?

[Q] s-pen/stylus with screen protector

how well does stylus work with screen protectors, anyone had good/bad experience?
I am looking at buying anti glare one
i understand that there is 'increase touch sensitivity' mode in settings that can also help?
Well all are bad after time, I mean the pen doesn't slide good and that's why I use tempered glass.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
I have a mime feather tempered glass and the s pen works just like nothing is there. I'd assume any of the tempered glass covers get the same results.
MJC
i have seen these tempered glass on sale but they all look chunky, are they really much noticeable in terms of weight and thickness?
looks like i might have to get one since i do want to use stylus with no issues
I've got the iloome Flex and love it. Only about .12 mm thick compared to most tempered glass protectors that are around .40-.60mm thick. Zero effect on stylus

does it have anti glare? thats would totally sell to me
Considering that witht the seperate s pen digitizer you can use your pen juat aboce without touching screen protector should have zero effect on it.
bird
I'm using an Anker Xtreme Scratch Defender screen protector and am having no problems with the s pen.
No Worries...
I use amzer shatterproof screen protector on my N3 and am also using the stylus from a quite long time and I have not faced any problem in using it...its working smooth and fine...yes tempered glass screen protector works well but I would say my screen protector is also working really well...
Don't worry about what screen protector you get (except the real rubbery ones/wet apps) whether it be tempered glass or pet when it comes to the s-pen. Get the one you want, try the s-pen out and if it's too sticky replace the tip with the plastic tips included with your phone. The one that's installed out of the box is the rubber tip so it'll stick to pet more and function better with tg. The plastic tip slid easily on both. Personally I liked the rubber on tg because the resistance reminds me of actually writing with a pencil.
You have to look very carefully at the tip of the replacements and you should see a difference between some of them. I believe 3 rubber ones and 2 plastic ones are included in the replacement tips.
My personal recommendation (I've tried the spigen tr, spigen ultraclear pet, 8 dollar ebay TG, and Nillkin H+) is the Nillkin H+ which is about $16 if I remember correctly. Perfect tempered glass screen protector and the price is significantly lower than spigen and iloome(except flex).
Edit: and you shouldn't worry about using increased sensitivity or anything, I personally haven't heard of a case where the screen protector has caused issues.

Ya a normal PET one will usually do the trick, but on such a beautiful screen the smudge marks which gather more on PET just ruined it for me, not to mention the tackyness. If you ever want to treat yourself pick up this guy (included UK link for you),

I'm using the mime feather light and it's amazing .smoother then stock imo.
The S-Pen does not use the capacitive digitizer and "Increase Touch Sensitivity" will do nothing. If you read up on the way the Wacom digitizer for the S-Pen works, you will see that the digitizer tracks the S-Pen's location above it and S-Pen itself is what signals when contact was made and how much pressure was applied, so the thickness of the glass doesn't matter as long as it is in range of the Wacom digitizer (where the pointer is visible).
I use the crystal clear from spigen and changed the tip of s-pen to plastic one and it works flawlessly.

I own the Seidio Surface for the Note 3 and love it. I'm a big case guy and typically own many different kinds for my phones. The Seidio Surface is my "go to" case for the Note 3, as it seems to offer a fair amount of protection with a real nice look and feel. I also own the Spigen Slim Armor, UAG, and have a few others on the way (Tech 21 and Spigen Bounce) but i'm fairly certain the Surface will be my day-to-day case.

The surface case has been my favorite through probably 10 phones or more. I like the kickstand, and the low-profile look. I have tried others, and always seem to go back to it. I just wish they would bake in a wireless charging provision and then they would really have something.
Anyone also have the Surface Holster, and a TPU case as well?

I like the surface a lot, but my 9H iloome does not.
Was thinking about this case but am a 9h user....you think removing the rear cover of the phone would help. ..is it a clearance issue or the act of sliding the case together that fubars the protector?

Removing the battery cover worked for me for about two weeks. After that, the 9H started to come up at the top left corner. The edge of the glass was bumping into the surface. I'm not sure if a thinner protector would work or not. I wonder if you could use a Dremel or something to modify the surface and make it work.

Case compatible with full-screen tampered glass screen protector

I'm looking for a case, which would be compatible with Ultimate Shield tampered glass screen protector. Currently I have Galaxy S7 Spigen [Ultra Hybrid] AIR CUSHION [Crystal Clear], but it has bumped up screen protector unfortunately. I have been satisfied with Ringke Fusion. There is a bit more space for glass screen protector than with UAG. At least my UAG tends to push out the glass screen protector.

I had one of the glass ones that doesn't cover the whole screen and it was OK but dust got under the exposed edge. I have the ID Shield Liquid Skin on for the last 4 months, while I don't feel as protected there is no loss of sensitivity. One thing to note on any screen protector is if you use the Gear VR it can not go above the ear piece on top or home button on the bottom. I trimmed my IQ Shield protector and no issues.
