Cannot get Ubuntu to boot - Ubuntu Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, i'm trying to port the Ubuntu OS to the HTC One X, back in august i got it to boot correctly fixing some lines in the init.rc file but now, as far as i can see, the Ubuntu Team has a different approach with the Android Layer and, after following their guide all over, i cannot get ubuntu to boot.
I manged to get this and this last_kmsg.txt... Tell me if you have any suggestions

Anyone?

HTC DESIRE C resurrection?

Hi there. My name is Dave.
I am having trouble finding a correct place for this thread. This is the nearest place i could find for this topic. Q+A.
I am having some trouble with my htc desire c. I know there is not alot of development for this device as it is fairly new to market. however i had nameless rom installed (latest release) and all was well but last night i was trying to wipe back to stock rom. But things went badly. At first it didn't boot past the boot animation but now it doesn't even get that far. it stays on the warning about the build being for development purposes.
I can get into fastboot and it works. However my adb does not work. wont detect my device. drivers are installed correctly. Tried pushing via adb and fastboot. tried flashing via fastboot even booting the rom. i am using the first release of nameless rom when flashing to see if it will succeed. As far as i get is its starts writing the zip file etc but at the end says (remote: not allowed) FAILED.
I tried mounting my sdcard and placing the rom and installing via recovery but my sdcard wont mount on my pc. tried in another phone also. same thing
i have 2x2gb microsd cards and neither of them will mount
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have searched high and low across the internet to no avail
Why did ypu try to revert to stock rom? And did you try reflashing nameless 2.0.2? I have been using nameless since 1.1 and am now on 2.0.2 with stock rosie and systemui flashed.

I have it sorted finally. i borrowed (secretly) my mothers SIII and put in my sdcard and transferred the nameless rom through that way because my pc detected it
Recovery > Flash > Success!
Oh and in response to your previous question. I was returning to stock to unroot because i plan on selling my htc desire c. I bought a sidekick lx 2009 online. I live in Ireland but it works for phone and text. i bought it because I hate touchscreen keyboards i make too many mistakes and typos which frustrate me. My sidekick has a physical flipout keyboard (I have stubby thumbs) =[
Well Im glad you fixed it. Good luck on selling it!

If you have the s off windows version just run it from the windows administrator account and use the instructions as in unlimited.io, it worked for me that way.. I had 64bit aswell my 1sy attempt lead me to a soft brick cuz the s off process stopped in the middle so run it from administrator account

Once you learn more about it you will appreciate Ubuntu and Linux a whole lot more. Linux is no joke it is a great kernel if you didn't know already Android is based off Linux and you run it every day.
While installing ubuntu onto your pc just to s off seems inconvenient it is actually safer on Ubuntu since unlimited.io found a vulnerability and discontinued the Windows S off method and moved it to ubuntu.
If you get a windows version you won't get support from unlimited.io and not so much from xda since we respect their wish of not supporting the windows method.

Ubuntu Chroot on ICS

Hey guys I have ICS rooted and on A1 kernel on my gtab10.1, I used complete Linux installer and when I'm trying to boot Ubuntu it says loop device not found. Is there anyway I can fix and use on ICS? I can't load cyanogenmod on this tab because my mom also uses it and the speaker volume on cyanogenmod is way too low.
Thanks!

Porting Paranoid Android to Hisense Sero 7 Pro

I tried porting using the standard cut and paste method from the Grouper version of PA onto Hisense stock rom but CWM touch recovery would not allow the installation of the .zip file. Anyone having any success getting PA onto this tab?
I tried something similar with a pac rom. It was from an Acer 7 inch or something like that. I used a device that said it had a tegra 3. I think it was a a700 but not sure. The result was the same would not even install.

OK I tried doing a port of aokp with the grouper jb1 milestone 2. Basically what I did was extract the rom then unpack the kernel then modded the ram disk init.c and fstab to match some of the settings in the sero's files. Replaced the grouper kernel with the sero stock kernel. Then a repackaged of the kernel. Then I extracted randomblames vendor tree in to the grouper rom. Then I zipped it and tried to install it. I got the error 7 a couple of times the it installed. And then it froze at the hisense screen. When I tried building from source using rb device and vendor tree I kept getting a manifest error. I have followed all of the guides on how to port roms on xda and none have worked for me.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda app-developers app
Well I found out the manifest error was in relation to a missing .mi file full_adopted.mk I think. Anyways now it is building, just did make Bacon m470 . I am using randomblames device and vendor trees from taktik and the prebuilt kernel. So it might not even boot due to the sources being for 4.4 and the aokp source is from 4.2.2. This is my first build for android. I want to learn how to build the kernel from source with tweeks to run cm based roms.

Would really rather have PA on my sero so keep up the effort!
Its my first rom so I picked something no one else was doing, aokp. If you want Paranoid Android just use the dopa rom and update the xposed framework and download the module that lets you set dpi per app and the module for phablet or tablet modes. It kinda makes pa redundant. But if I ever get this to boot I may do a rootbox/pac/schizoid type of super rom but I would need help. I'm learning. This is a learning experience.
