[Q] Convert Internal Memory of Note II to USB Mass Storage - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My friend accidentally deleted a video (2GB+ size) from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. This video is very important to me.
And I really need to recover it so badly.
I have sucessfully tried to follow from this forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34185439 and this youtube tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwn20Udp5YA but still I can't recover the video.
I have the best file recovery application but it will work 100% only if the source will be USB Mass Storage.
This is why I want to know how will I convert/turn my internal memory to USB mass storage.
Please help me.
TIA!

USB mode in samsung galaxy S3.

All the pictures which i captured from my S3 were stored in the internal memory of my phone. But unfortunately those pics got deleted.. and now when i tried to recover those pics i have a problem. I downloaded an app to enable Mass Storage Mode, it does not work on internal memory and it seems to be only for an external microsd… I really need to enable mass storage mode on the internal card so I can run a file recovery utility to restore deleted photos.. How can i recover this? pls help....
I'm stuck in a similar boat. Even on rooted CM10, I can't get USB mode. And there is currently a bug where it won't work in recovery either. I thought this would be a really simple thing, and it still boggles my mind why it is even removed as an option.
Connect phone to PC use Windows Explorer to open phone and sd card .

The answer is that you can't enable mass storage / UMC on the Galaxy S3, because the internal sdcard is not an independent partition, is just a subfolder of the data partition, unlike older devices like Galaxy S2.
You have to use phone side applications which are more limited of course.
Read this for further understanding:

You may try some android photo recovery software, follow this step by step guide: android phone photo recovery
hope this helps you get back deleted photos from samsung galaxy S3 phone.

No, but to recover files, see General > Sticky roll-up thread > S3 storage data recovery

You can, if you use DriveDroid, however the mass storage mode is limited to the file you select as virtual drive.

Mass storage mounting with Easy UMS

I have installed the Samsung Galaxy S3 mass storage mounting app called Easy UMS found here at XDA Developers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1711009
It allows the camera to be connected to a pc and the external SD card can be mounted as a Mass Storage Device. Which is great for transferring and editing files directly.
Even though it was originally written for the Galaxy S3, it works with the Galaxy Note II and of course the Galaxy Camera!
It needs Busybox to be installed and therefore needs to be rooted. But I really think rooting the camera has many benefits and is easy to reverse for warranty purposes etc.
Crashes our XP desktop completely. Okay on Win 7 and Mac Mountain Lion...

[Q] USB mass Storage cannot be enabled.

Hi, I have accidentally deleted images from my internal storage of Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
My phone is un-rooted.
After updating to 4.3 when I connect to PC i just get MTP/PTP option now mass storage mode.
kindly help me out.

[Help] How to detect phone as removable disk (not MTP) - Marshmallow?

Hello,
I am trying to recover lost photos and videos from my phone. Refer to this post => http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/data-photos-videos-documents-recovery-t3475903
However, all of the recovery software out there requires the phone to be detected as an removable disk (mass storage). None of them work with MTP device. I have a OnePlus One, running on Android 6.0.1.
Is there a way to show the phone as removable disk (mass storage)? If this not possible at all, please comment so that I don't waste more time searching the internet
Will it work if I install a very old ROM? Can I still recover the data? What do you think?
Thanks.
It's not possible to mount the internal storage as USB Mass Storage. If you're rooted, then you could look into using an app directly on the phone, such as Disk Digger. If you aren't rooted, then you're pretty much out of luck.

Photo and video recovery, please help

Hi, I lost my dog yesterday and have accidently deleted a few videos and lots of photos of our last months together, these were stored on the SD card in my phone. I have a Motorolo G3 running Android 6.0.1.
I have spent most of today downloading various apps to try and get my files back, DiskDigger was the only sucessful one but it was only able to recover thumbnail size pictures. I have tried Recuva which cannot see my SD Card when the phone is connected via USB with the USB file transfer option enabled. Easeus can see the phone but asks that I enable USB mass storage to recover the files, unfortunately I already have this enabled when I see the message.
Would rooting my phone help? From what I can gather I only need to root my phone if the files I want to recover were stored on the phones internal storage, I am mistaken?
Does anyone know how I can recover these files? There are a few very special photos and videos that I desperately want back.
Thanks
No ideas?
