Gn3 urban armor! - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Definitely a must have!!
:laugh::victory:
BTW my first post lol

n3 is already big enough. with this it is going to be much uglier.

I picked one up, its on pre order atm. I was told it ships approx. 4 weeks from 9/26. Cant wait!
Also there are more colors besides the orange one here: http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/products/aero-glxn3

Way too big. Your strapping a giant case on a giant phone...

I've had one of these on my N2 for the last year and it has been my favorite case hands down. Probably saved the device several times.

UAG are the best cases out there. I have had several and provide great protection and the buttons are great

Love uag had one on my note 2...adds a small bit of bulk but the protection is comparable to the otterbox commuter which is typically bulkier.. I know the note is huge but I'd rather give up the sleek factor than replace a 700$ phone... I think it's the best case for size to protection ratio.... Sure otterbox defender is more durable but it turns your phone into a brick.. Love uag case just kinda wish it had a kickstand.. I'm picking this up and the seidio active along with a diztronic tpu

I second your sentiments, I had a UAG case for my S3 & wouldn't put anything else on my N3. I've also preordered & anxiously await it's arrival.

Will definitely order one when they are available, have had Uag on my S3, S4. Great cases and great protection. Also they're not as bulky as they seem in pics.

I would like to see them offer the dot/dash design like the Note 2 case otherwise I will get the Seidio Active with kickstand.
Edit: Just checked the site and the dot/dash design will be offered. So, I'm in.

Curious if those two variants are the same dimensions... the one with the removable vent seems as though it would be slightly thicker.
Also, is venting really necessary for this device?

I think it is more design than functionality especially since they include inserts to cover up the slots.

Is it me or does the side of the UAG Note 3 cover looks different?

Otterbox for galaxy note?...

Any word on an otterbox for the galaxy note? Or possibly something similar with heavy duty protection (heavy duty case with holster). I'm not into flip cases, gel skins, pouches or TPU.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Otterbox have not announce anything for the Galaxy Note, so we have to wait and see.
I've found news. Hopefully this is true and they go in our favor http://blog.techiewarehouse.com/otterbox-breaks-silence-about-galaxy-note-defender-commuter-cases/

Wow I can't wait. I already ordered Impact Heavy Duty which have otterbox quality and it cheaper (10 buck). It so bulk like the otterbox, but don't have screen protector and have kick-stand. I can't wait to get the Defender!
Great - I will wait until the Defender comes out.

I ordered this case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520549
seems like it has all the protection the otter box might offer.
I can't wait for a defender either. I don't like the cheap feel of the kick stand with that case and the fact that it doesn't come with a holster.

Awesome news! I have a case now but would switch.
I've been on them on their Facebook page for weeks.... Same replies. I'm awaiting its arrival but fear they may not release a defender due to size.
On a lighter note, I was in a best Buy in green bay and saw 2 Defenders brand new for a...... Wait for it..... Dell Streak! Only $39.99!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA App
Lol, unbelievable @defenders for dell streak. The dell streak has a 5 inch screen so otterbox should at least consider it for the note. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I really want a defender for my note.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
I'd much rather see a Ballistic or Trident case. Otterbox tends to use their best materials/factories for the iPhones.
I like the level of protection both trident and ballistic offers but they should include a clip with them
Sent from my Galaxy Note
Otterbox is good an all.. but if we could get these guys to make a case for our phone, we'd be set.
Saw it at Best Buy and emailed them a few times. Even offered my phone up for prototyping purposes, but I'm thinking they aren't into it, despite the number sold.

Seidio looks like they have "coming soon" on their active combo case/holsters. I had the seidio with my atrix and actually liked it better than my Defender case....mainly less bulky.

Same here. I had a Defender on my Atrix for about two weeks before I decided it was simply too bulky for everyday use. Swapped to a Seidio Active and haven't looked back. I'd love a Seidio Active for my Note. I can only imagine a Defender for the Note being slightly less bulky than a laptop bag.
I understand seidio is less bulky than otterbox, but does it offer the same level of protection? I wouldn't want to compromise thinness over it not protecting the phone from drops very well.
Sent from my Galaxy Note
But they did an awesome job with the iphone 4 Defender in keeping it trim yet protective. That design, holster and all is exactly what they need to make for us.

The only decrease in protection that I could imagine would be the rubber flaps for ports and whatnot on the defender. The seido active or other cases like the speck candyshell are awesome at drop protection just like the defender. I've dropped phones in these cases before from 5-6 feet off the ground onto concrete and absolutely no harm done to the device. Unless you're big on the port coverage, I don't see why people buy the defender, as it has so much unnecessary bulk. I know you want the belt clip/holster though, so it looks like the seido active would be a good choice once they have it.

Otterbox on note

I got a reply back today from otterbox. I asked if they planned on making a case for the note. They said they're working on the otterbox commuter case for the note as we speak and should be available soon. Thought I would post just in case anyone was interested.
G~Note "nuff said"
I had an Otterbox case for my Streak, and loved it, but I have to say that I am shocked at the quality of this generic case I got on ebay for like $8! Head over to the accessories forum and you'll see some pretty happy campers who spent less than $10 for a case...
Sent from my SGH-I717R using Tapatalk
I have used Otterbox cases in the past but the last time i checked they were listing the case for the G Note at 56$ Um they can kiss my business g buy. I got a very good Reiko case from a seller on ebay for 8.88$ delivered The Reiko case is everybit as good as a defender from over priced otter! I tend to be from the school "ya get what ya pay for" but the Reiko case even has a kickstand, flap covers that cover charging an earphone ports.
I had bought one of those off brand cases for my ns4g on amazon. It came with a stylus and like 3 screen protectors for 10$! They're are some good deals out there so I agree. I seen that reiko with the kickstand think I seen a red/black one. I might have to get it. I bought the flipbook (hated it before I took a chance) I was surprised tho. Note looks sexy just doesn't offer much protection in case of a drop
G~Note "nuff said"
Otter says on their site that they sell their own products higher on their site then what their resellers sell for b/c they would rather you buy through them but won't refuse money. So the price quoted is always higher then what is available once they start shipping. I bought a commuter for my Vibrant and loved it. I did break it eventually and that happened by removing it so many times. I just wish I could get the Defender for this thing. I may have to look at some of the knock offs out there for such a dramatically lower priced case. I still just want a nice (brown) leather belt clip holster since leaving the tie off is considered a casual day at work for me.
Otter box return policy
Even tho theirs prices are little higher than the norm, the have excellent warranty policy and will pretty much ship you a complete new case if need be, providing you date and name the pictures. I've received a couple through this process (All defenders cases), ex complete case (SGN), replaced several holsters (Iphone, Backberry, Nexus S)

I've had an Otterbox on every device I've had so far (iPad & iPhone). They really make some great cases (a bit costly but worth every cent). I can't wait until I can get one for the Note.
I love otterbox too, however, I needed something right away. I'm a bit to clumsy to gamble on a $750 device. I ordered an "active" case from Seidio, they are similar to otterbox except no screen protector (I use zagg anyway). One thing I like about Sedio products over otter is the options. It's a three layer case with the first layer having the capability to be a simple standard case. Check them out if you don't feel like waiting.

I've used their case with holster for my charge, the belt clip has held up very well. I was mistaken on my first post. I thought this was the equivalent of the defender series. After looking at it again, I see that it is more like the commuter series from otter box but with a holster. Still a great case/holster combo in my opinion. I can't post a link yet, but check out the online store at seidio.com.

The dude at the ATT store told me Otterboxes were "bulky pieces of crap".
Then he proceeded to try to sell me a Speck case for FIFTY BUCKS.
I had to pass I too am looking forward to a commuter case.
Moved to Accessories
As this is a post about accessories it should be in that section
I have received confirmation from my otterbox rep that cases are in the works
I've received my case from Seidio, and I like that it doesn't make it that much thicker. On a phone this size, any bulkiness may be a bit to much. I'm also glad to hear that otter is working on one as well. I have a gift card for them and would like to compare cases.
Either way, the active case from Seidio is what I expected. I also cut my own custom screen protector from a HD Zagg designed for the kindle fire. I think the stylus works better with the HD version then their standard protector.

Otterbox Commuter case

Been looking for a sturdy case for my LGOG and I found the commuter case on the Otterbox website but no idea when it will be available. What is the opinion about the case? Anyone have a better solution?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
I have been waiting for this case to be released before I buy this phone. I'm afraid of dropping it and shattering the glass.
First thing I should mention is that I'm not sure this case will fit the AT&T variant. There are different variants of this phone with slightly different dimensions so it's worth checking. Also, this case will cover the LED notification ring around the power connector. I have raised this issue with the manufacturer but I doubt they will do anything about it. I suggested using a clear silicone around the power button but I will probably just poke a few holes around the power button of the silicone case if I really feel like I need to see the notification LED. If you inquire about whether or not it will work with the AT&T variant I would be interested to hear their response.
Best of luck!
Honestly, I'll be happy if it fits the AT&T version. That seems to be the odd man out when it comes to cases.
That seems to be the main issue, the fit. I've had an HTC Aria for three years before I upgraded to this mini tablet monstrosity, I have an irrational fear of dropping it and it's a bit awkward trying to use it one handed. I almost considered buying the ridiculously expensive AT&T plastic frame. My primary concern is this massive screen will be its Achilles. Anyone have a a close call with it yet? I mean I have dropped it from about three feet on to carpet but I'd like to hear about real life drop tests. Also I know the screen is hard to scratch but what about the back? Would a frame type case serve to protect the screen and back better? Pros and cons to a screen protector or privacy shield? It seems like an exotic phone or something with the locked bootloader I guess it's not the most popular amongst the devs. Any and all input and thoughts are openly appreciated.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Dropped mine from about 2 feet up off the bed onto a hardwood floor. Landed on the backside. No visible damage under a bright light. I don't use any case or protector.
I hope the commuter comes out soon. I'm tired of worrying about dropping this beauty. This phone is a little slippery. I haven't peeled off the back film yet either, maybe I never will. I'll be pretty disappointed if the one coming out is the sprint version only. Hopefully they're making both versions right now. I really wish all variants were the same like the gs3. Then we could get all accessories without issues. Unfortunately, at&t is the odd man out.

Add another on the wait list. I love the feel of this phone but it is a bit slick.
So far the Belkin saved my phone from a 3 foot drop on pavement with just a few nicks in the case.

I gave up and bought then Body Glove case since there's nothing else out there I've seen yet for it that's good. I ordered a cheap TPU case off of EBay, but that didn't quite fit so I wasted $4. And, since both Seidio and Trident case have responded to my email inquiries that they haven't any plans to make cases for the ATT OG, I'm more than a little bummed that I may not find anything better if the Otterbox doesn't fit my new toy.

Yeah it sux. If only lg made the same variant for all the carriers. But no, at&t has to be different. I'd like to think it's different because of the micro sd slot. But it's hard for me to believe they couldn't pull it off with the same dimensions. I actually like the sprint model better since its a little skinnier and easier to hold. But regardless, I love this phone. Lets just hope otterbox comes through.

I talked to customer service today about which version they're coming out with. The girl didn't even know that the dimensions were different between att and sprint. Yeah I saw the bodyglove case at the att store but I don't like the colors. I like the gray outer case but the inner silicone case colors are ugly to me. Orange, purple, blue, pink, but no black. Wtf. Gray with black silicone is perfect IMO. But that's just my taste.

I called customer service and they told me that they could not tell me what phones this case would support until it was released. Yes, I have been checking that. Specifically, I'm looking for a dual layer case with a soft silicone inner shell and a hard silicone outer shell. Otterbox and Casemate are the only companies I know of that do this. Casemate doesn't have an LGOG case and Otterbox is uncertain whether or not they will fit the AT&T variant.

Slim Armor is not that good for protection, especially drop protection. It has like no lip.
Uag is awesome and they aren't as bulky as they seem in pics. I've had one for my S3 and S4 and they do protect extremely good against drops.

I had the UAG Scout for my Note 2. It protected my phone perfectly through multiple drops. The case never got scuffed either. It was pretty bulky though. No where near Otterbox Commuter size (which I also owned).

Only drawback is UAG won't be available for weeks to come according to their website
Otterbox or Trident would be the best for drop protection. I wouldn't consider any slimmer cases to be the "best" in drop protection. I remember watching a video where a guy just threw his iPad with Otterbox from the second story window multiple times. Nothing broke on the iPad.

I'd say the best cases will be either the Otterbox defender or the Armour version if one is made, the Seidio Rugged, or the Ballistic Maxx. All are going to be producing a case specifically designed to provide the maximum protection. I had an otterbox on the note 2 and it had been dropped numerous times down my stair and never a scratch. My wife has a Ballistic Maxx on her S3 and she is quite accident prone but her phone is unscathed. I think the Ballistic case is rated at a 15 meter drop distance. I'm not sure about the others.

I just checked otterbox and they have the email option for the Note 3. I have gotten otterbox for almost all my phones mainly for the belt clip, but I would love to see the armour series come out for this beast. I doubt considering it wasn't released for the S IV.

Not sure that would be the way I'd want to go, but I am curious to have a look at it. My search brought up some for the Note 2. Didn't see one for the Note 3. Do you have a link?

closest case to an otterbox... or better? For a painter/carpenter

Hey,
My dad's looking to get into the smartphone game and I'm telling him to get a Note III instead of the S4, only thing is there's no otterbox out right now, anything else that might protect the phone in a heavily dusted environment (he paints and does home improvement/carpentry for new homes), I need something very durable.
He's coming from a ravine that's taken a beating for a long time, what do you guys suggest?
I need something similar too.. Rugged + Belt clip..
Only two cases I have found so far have been otterbox and seidio but neither is available yet..
Does anyone have any eta for otterbox? Why on earth are they not readily prepared for such a major flagship phone??!!! *end of rant*

they did the same thing last year with the Note II.
I personally go either naked or flip cover (which is damn near naked, just an added flap), so I didn't care.
Now I care

Came across this link for mobilefun note3 tough cases..
So from that I noticed that Ballistic is making a case and theirs looks like it would be pretty good too.. It isnt available yet so not many pictures..
Here is link to theirs.. note 3 case..
Because I wanted pictures I found the same model under an S4 so I bet the design is similar..

This is the closest I found so far to tough protection.

I have a case very similar to this on my Note 2 and found it to be a very tough case that has saved my phone several times. I think it would do the trick and for the price it was one of the best investment for my phone.

Just ordered a Note 3 myself and a wireless charging receiver and a case will be the first two things I look into.
I had that one for some reason the plastic part was a little bit too sticky when you put it in your jeans you better be prepared to put in effort to get it out I'm not sure if it was because it got wet or why. But this case is good only issue with it is the home button area can get a bit annoying

Yea I seen that one but I'm in New York so there would be a major problem in fast delivery it was kind of a emergency since I bike a lot but the case is alright for the price. Not the best still waiting for a good shockproof one

Not sure this one offers as much protection as you are looking for, one reviewer says it is closer to the Otterbox commuter rather than the defender. I do like the fact that it also has covers for the ear phone and charging port, so that should be a bonus for keeping the dust/dirt out. I needed a holster case combo, and needed it quick so I ordered this one last night with express shipping. I can post an update on how it is once it is received. For the price, seems like it was worth a shot, but hopefully I won't regret it.

Since he doesn't need a belt clip, he should get a UAG case (Urban Armor Gear)! I have a UAG case for my Note 2 and love it! It is by far my favorite tough case out of all the companies who make them. I used to really like Otterbox cases, but since using a UAG case I'd never go back to an Otterbox! Otterbox offers great protection, but their style is a little plain. UAG offers protection AND style, so you get the best of both worlds. You also get a UAG screen protector with each case you order. I used their screen protector on my Note 2 and it's actually very nice, unlike Otterbox screen protectors which scratch and begin to look bad very quickly. I bought the white and black UAG for my Note 2. After many months of use, it looks just as good as the day I took it out of the box! The white has never yellowed like most white cases do, and there are no scratches on it, even after a few drops. Also, they have a lifetime warranty on their cases, so they'll replace it for free if you ever needed to for any reason. Their Note 3 case isn't available quite yet, but they'll ship in 5-7 days after you order.
EDIT : Here's the link to their Note 3 cases. They offer it in dark blue, white, orange, and black.

Out of all of those options, I think I like the UAG ones the best, they look sweet!
The only thing I'm worried about is the front not being covered up too well, might have to get him glass screen protector like mine
TechMatte makes amazing screen protectors!!! They just produced them and sent me one for testing, so I don't think they are available for sale to the general public just yet. I'll ask them and see when they'll be available. Ghost Armor is another great choice of you don't wanna wait! I've been using Ghost Armor for years, and they've been my favorite. Just recently, today actually lol, I've decided that TechMatte is now my favorite!!

On Androidcentral.com they show the Otterbox cases for the Note 3 and have pricing as well. Both the Commuter ($41.95) and Defender ($57.95) say that they ship on 11/8.
