All you can do is choose such an launcher which is appropriate to you. Like highly customizable with GESTURE supports.
If you are ROOTED then install app named
"GMD GESTURE CONTROL"
Install it and explore.
REFER: *Please change your thread title to some informative title rather than "Helf".
*If you want DOCKS to be hide by one gesture you can try many launcher like NOVA,APEX etc. They support it.

Lol i realize i've made a typo in the title. Rofl. I hot thanks btw.

[Q] Gesture based Launchers?

Does anyone know of any gesture bases launchers? The idea seems pretty cool, im the kind of person who hates clutter on my desktop or home screen so on my phone I usually only have one homesreen with the power widget and very minimal apps. Having gestures would be awesome because then I could get rid of all those apps and just tie them to swipe based gestures on the home screen

ADW has swipe up and swipe down gestures but not much else. There's also wave launcher but I didn't like it much.

I freaking love wave launcher. Especially since I can go directly from browser to root explorer or script manager or gmail or any game. I have almost every app and a few settings in different folders and now u can even put widgets on the wave. Change colors of wave and labels. LOVE WAVE LAUNCHER.
Makes going from one app to the next seamless and.smooth. u can even put direct call or direct message to contact on wave. Seriously awesome.
I know there is google gestures but.its an app u open and write a letter on screen to search ur phone and apps. I prefer wave launcher. And if u use widget locker u can set it so u can use ut on lockscreen.
I use Launcher Pro (my personal favorite launcher) and it supports swipe gestures on any/all of the dock icons. For instance, I have my middle dock button (of 5) set to open the app drawer on press, but when I swipe upwards it brings down the notification drawer.
Pretty handy if you hide the status bar like me.
Palm Pre/Pre+/Pixi/Pre2/Veer lol I miss webOS gestures so much! If you're looking for those types of gestures, you may be out of luck.

How to hide icon

Hello, I want to hide icon of app in Android.
which launcher?
for most of them, it is from home screen, menu button, preferences
If it's the icon in the App Drawer you want to hide, use a Launcher that allows you to do this. Launcher Pro does iirc.
If it's the icon on a Homescreen you just need to change the current one for one that's transparent..and most 3rd party Launchers allow you to do that. I've attached a transparent icon for you if you need it. Un-zip it, save it to your phone and either use your Launcher to edit the current icon or use an app called 'Desktop Visualizer' to do the same.

do you mean the dock on the home screen?
I don't know how to actually remove it, but you could set the background to transparent and remove all icons.

goto prefrences, then select theme settings. select dock background , and select the option hide background.
OptimalK
you'll have that + + + + + label for adding another icons...
you COULD in theory create a blank PNG or jpeg or whatever.. save it in your gallery (or wherever.. )
Long press on one of the Plus signs.
Select "Replace"
Select "Custom Icon"
then select your blank png (blank.png attached to post
et voila
I have added a blank.zip to the post
just unzip the blank.zip and there will be a blank.png inside....copy to your phone..... find it in the gallery.. and i can confirm it works
example screeenshot of it in action
(i have left dock background in place just to prove it is working,, but easy to disable)
show/hide dockbar
if you dont need the whole dockbar on your homescreens you can also configure to show or hide it with a gesture.
go to "settings" -> "function-settings" -> "buttons and gestures" -> "action for wiping down" -> "show/hide dockbar"
(i hope this are the names of the menus in english because i have the german version)
now when you wipe your finger down on any homescreen the dockbar shows or hides itself.
thats the settings i prefer but do as you like!
regards

No you can't.
1. Wrong section
2. Dumb question
3. Lazy user
when you tap the + icon, some options pop up where you can select "blank" and + icon will disappear

This is the best way. However the homescreen real estate is not expanded to reach the bottom of the screen, unlike most other launchers. For this reason I switching back to ADW, although Go's transition fx are amazing
Bit of a bump here, can i not replace the dock with say Arrow Dock? It's completely different so is it possible?
This is arrowdock:

Actually you can.
Set glide action to hide dock bar, return to home screen and 'glide to hide',reset glide action to whatever. Now when home, no dock bar. Voila!

wrong section yes but not a stupid question nor a lazy user. its an option in adw that i wish go launcher had. i would switch to adw for this option alone but i'm having other more serious issue with adw. the point of this is to use the space so my widget extends to the bottom of the screen. it just looks a lot cleaner instead of empty space at the bottom where the dock would be.

I think the earlier question was removing the dock bar and using the real estate to place widgets, which you really can't. Hiding the dock bar? Yes of course. Using the space for widgets? No can do.

You can use the space for widgets, the trick is that you have to go to a larger grid size, place the widget at the bottom, and then change the grid size to be one notch smaller.
I did this so that my twitter widget is stretched to the very end of the screen, and the same thing for the jorte calendar on another screen.
It's easy
Using the additional screen area at the bottom can be done, but only for resizable items (widgets). Here's how. Increase your vertical grid capacity by one. I run a 5x4, so I would switch to a 6x4. Use a gesture feature to hide the dock bar. Any widget that was on the bottom of your previous grid will now be one row up from the bottom. RESIZE the widget to occupy the bottom row (do not move it). For a 1x1widget, you would be turning it into a 2x1 widget. Now, go back into your preferences ---> screen settings. Revert back to your original grid layout and return to your home screen. The bottom widgets should occupy the full lower area.
There are three problems with doing this.
1) Any time you show the dock bar, the widgets will not adjust, meaning that the dock will cover part of the widget(s).
2) If you long press any of the lower widgets, it will detect the missing grid row and relocate the widget. In the event this happens, you must repeat the process all over again. This means no moving or resizing widgets once they're in place.
3) The spacing between the lower widgets and anything directly above them is increased due to the widget occupying a larger vertical area. This creates a less uniform look. Note that this only applies to widgets that do not stretch when resized (fixed widget size).
How this helps.
This thread is awesome, now I can finally make some MIUI like interface.

status bar questions

Is there a way that I can completely get rid of the status bar and soft keys or at least hide them. It just gets in the way, it messes up my wallpaper and I don't need them because I used app savior
If I can't hide it what is the dimensions of the status bar so I can make a wallpaper according
Does anybody have a template to make a wallpaper fit or at least the pixel ratio
Your launcher should have an option to hide the status bar, most third party launchers offer the option...
look in the tablet section of CM settings. also extra setting in other launchers

[Q] 1. Is it possible to replace homescreen with app launcher? 2. Or/and maybe..

1. Is it possible to replace homescreen with app launcher? I mean when you press home button, homescreen shows up, is it possible to force phone to open app drawer instead of homescreen when you press home button?
2. Or/and maybe there is a launcher which shows all your apps not alphabetically but by date and also with ability to arrange the apps however you want?
Go launcher sounds like it is what you are looking for.
In gesture settings you can set home key action to open app drawer instead. It also has app sorting option for by latest date first and earliest date first (and alphabetically of course). It also allows for you to drag icons into any order you would like in the app drawer.

Doesnt work, works only if I'm already in the homescreen and then press home button, just then app drawer shows up :/ Also tried Apex launcher, same thing..
Use something like Quick Launch to open an alternative app drawer. There are free alternatives to this app, it's just the one I use. Alt Drawer is the app drawer I use, you can find it on XDA. I open it via long-press of search.
The MIUI launcher automatically puts all apps on the home screen, and by default adds them in the order they're downloaded. With some tweaking you could get it the way you want. There's a modded version for all roms somewhere.
Edit: You can sort Alt Drawer by last installed, alphabetically, or most used. Use an app to set it to open when you hit the home button and you should have what you want. It has a lot of other neat options too.
