Everyone who saw my Mega asked me if it's a Note 3 - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Obviously Samsung did a good job marketing it. There's also a comment that it looks like a ipad mini. I am like, yeah that's the idea.

Samsung Compares Note 10.1 To iPad

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57394231-71/samsung-the-new-ipad-is-no-work-of-art/?tag=rtcol
Cnet has a pretty good write up talking about it, but I thought it odd, but interesting, to compare something so small to something so big. While I don't agree that one requiring a full size dedicated tablet could easily forego that need in favor of a Note, I do find that they offer up some good talking points. I gave up my nook color for the time being, things are working out well for me so far, but time will tell.
Edit: Added pic.
They are comparing the note 10.1 which i believe is a soon to b released tablet... Not our phone so not sure why the guy is talking about our phone in the article????

Yea I caught that after posting and while reading comments on article. Wasn't aware of a 10.1 Note in the works. Will be interesting to see what churns out. I kinda like the idea of side by side apps...dead space and shadow gun at the same time...hmmm
Maybe you should change the TITLE to reflect it is the 10.1
I like the paper and pen quibble.

Far ENOUGH. TITLE should make THINGS clearer, figured it MAY be easier then RANDOMLY capitilizing works in our SENTENCES to get our POINT across.

Just wait until Samsung OFFICIALLY announces the tab 10.1/11.6 perhaps even today . Just like before right after Apple releases their iPad Samsung will come out and top it. Last year Samsung went ahead and changed the ergonomics of the Tab 10.1 within weeks to have a slimmer lighter tablet compared to the iPad lol .
It was originally rumored to have a dual core CPU that similar to our Note phones with the same resolution. I have a really really good feeling that will not be the case that it could have a even faster CPU, & mind you that have not even said what the GPU is. I can assure you that Samsung has prob made changes to that of the specs we seen at Mobile World Congress, i hope
They will not let Apple go about their glory without a fight. Especially after them taking shots at the Galaxy tab during their keynote. Which someone at Samsung has already commented on lol.
Samsung has a rumor going around that they are "pocketing" a Galaxy Note tab 11.6" with a resolution of 2650x1600 beating out the new ipad by a million pixels.
Either way Samsung has something big today at 4pm central. Could it be the new Note tablet, ICS for our Notes? Galaxy S3. Who knows its still Samsung so lets not hold our breath lol.
I dunno about you but id love to buddy up my Galaxy Note with a 11.6" version
Well they I kinda only compared one set of features that really were pretty much the same thing. Cool but they over looked a lot of stuff on the iPad. This is coming from someone who hates apple products.

I will be interested in the Galaxy Note 10.1 once it comes out. I just pre ordered the new ipad. (I had a $500 gift card from a sales contest). It delivers March 16th. Depending on when the Galaxy Note 10.1 is coming out, I may sell the ipad. Does anyone know when it is coming?
I love Apple products, as a shareholder! Wish Samsung was publicly traded in the US!

Thanks to all of you, our favorite phone is trending nicely @#1 now!
I think we'll succeed in putting it on top this week.

We need 60 more votse to beat the Nexsits, oh sorry Nexus. Come on guys
TO be honest i still can't find out why nexus is a great phone better than Samsung S2
Both now have ICS. Almost same specs with S2, camera only 5MP, no micro slot for expended memory. AND S2 came out more than 1 year ago, Nexus when pretty new like our Note. Haizzz
I like how the experts rank the 4s #1 with 35 points and then the nexus 2nd with only 22 points and the note with only 14 points, seriously what a freaking joke
We got the #1 spot last week! Yes!
Let's keep it there~ Come and vote!!!!

I agree, alot of these so called experts just love to hate on the Note, even though a ton of the public loves it. I voted this week.

It's really funny how Phonedog splits Galaxy S-II phones as four different phones, when in fact, they should all be under one phone model. No, they won't do that because that would put GS-II ahead of their beloved iPhone 4S! Crappleaddicts!
Galaxy Note has been #1 in Phondog's ranking for three weeks but it's currently trending at #2 behind the new challenger, Nokia Lumia 900!
Come on, you loyal Note fans, make your vote count and let's keep our beloved up there at the deserving place of #1!!!

Galaxy Note vs Galaxy Nexus?

Hello, I just recently got offered an almost brand new Galaxy Note for my Galaxy Nexus. How do you guys feel about the phone? I really am intrigued about the fact that the display is so large and how high the ppi is. Do you have an regrets about it or wish you bought another phone? Would you trade your Note for the Galaxy Nexus? Please leave a comment below!

I definitely would, but my conract doesn't end for another year :crying: What do you think about your Note? Would you give it up for a Galaxy Nexus, or keep it? Also, how good is the development for this phone. I know it won't be as good as the Nexus.
Depends on what you value more. Screen is amazing on the note, and we have some great development going on. Now that I own both phones, its really a tossup between which phone I would pick if I had to choose one. I would probably pick my note purely for the screen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
If you're anything like most Note users, the screen size alone will pull you towards the Note.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
[Lady]: "How do you carry that huge phone in your pocket?"
[Note User]: "I'm used to having huge stuff in my pants"
I had the galaxy nexus once ....I liked it alot..but the note is faster and bigger, and development is taking off now....so we have good developers now...good communityas well...I would trade it in second...
It really depends on what you value. If you want to run stock, get a nexus. If you want to play around with roms and don't mind running into a few bugs, the hardware on the international note blows the nexus away. The nexus is a smartphone, the more note is a super phone. I've owned both, fyi, and I wouldn't trade my note for the world, but I did like how every single rom on the gnex was flawless. Screen did feel a little small, though.
I think it comes down to if you want a 1 handed device or if you don't mind using 2 hands.
Apple innovates and Samsung copies, huh? Tell that to my galaxy note

The screen size won't be a problem. I'm 6'2 and still growing so my hands are abnormally large lol. Thank you all for your input! I'm going to meet the guy tomorrow and test it. If I buy it, I'll let you guys know! I can't wait for paranoid android on this phone! I love it on my Nexus, but it seems a little cramped on the screen. I'm sure the Note will take care of that

Note! Note! Note! Note! Note! Note!
So in the past 6 months I've had the Galaxy Nexus, HTC One X, and the Note. I bought the HOX when my Nexus went in for service, then traded it straight up for the Note as it has always interested me (I'm a former Dell Streak user). Here are my thoughts on all three...
Hardware
- Overall build quality goes to the HOX, no questions asked. I think the Nexus and Note are very similar since they're both made by Samsung. I love the screen on the Note the best, followed by the HOX and then the Nexus. As far as real-world performance goes, I think they're all very similar. The Note and Nexus both have removable batteries, which I have found to be VERY useful, especially for the Note given it's screen size and therefore power consumption.
Software
- As someone who always runs some sort of custom rom I have to give this one to the Nexus. The Note and HOX tie for second. There is certainly plenty of stuff out there, but there is usually some sort of trade-off i.e. the stock samsung app for the s-pen won't work on custom roms AFAIK.
Overall it comes down to... the screen! I personally miss my Nexus and am selling my Note this week. If you primarily only have a phone on you and do a lot of reading (email, web browsing, etc) the Note can't be beat. I often have my laptop or Nexus tablet so I use either of those when needed. Keep in mind that they're both 1 year old devices and the Nexus will age much better than the Note IMO. I would consider waiting until after the Note 2 is out and prices drop a bit more, but you can't go wrong with either device.
I own both. I use my nexus more. Nexus=better software
Note=bigger screen.

I'm sort of in the same boat. Don't get me wrong, the software on the Note is great, but the nexus is flawless. I wish it was possible to combine the software side of my nexus with my Notes screen. That being said, I'm still in the honeymoon phase of owning my nexus, and JB on the note will soon be every bit as good as the nexus...and that's without us even having JB source. Our note devs are awesome.

Any Note 2 to S4 users?

Hi All,
I have a chance to trade locally with someone who picked up a VZW Black S4. I have the White Note 2 and he wants to go back to the Note 2. The nerd in me screams awesome as I'm always wanting to check out new phones but at the same time, why might he want to go back to the Note 2 from the S4...
If anyone has and uses both phones what are the pro's and con's? Any preference between the two (and yes, I realize this is the S4 forums so preference may be a bit biased).
My Note 2 is like new, has two batteries and two s-pens so he's offering a straight trade, phone for phone no cash exhanged.
Thoughts?
I love the Note 2, I read books, watch movies and tv shows on it, and music quality is amazing. Signal quality and download speeds are insane. Looking for day to day use comparisons for those that have had both phones and advice on what I can expect from the S4 if I proceed with this trade.
Preference, I do miss the bigger screen.. flash video is a little smoother (more forgiving is better put) on the Note 2 (4.1.2) but being able to one hand the device, the IR blaster and 1080p display is rly nice.
Do it, the value of the Note 2 is dropping
Then trade up to the Note 3
Thats what I am doing (did)
Yeah I had the iPhone 5, bought a Note 2. And then sold the iPhone and Note 2 and got the S4 and I still have my upgrade next month! Loving the S4 right now.

I have the Note 2 and then bought the S4. I wouldn't get rid of either of them. they both have thier strong points.
The Note 2, all of the big scren stuff and the sPen,(which I still use, daily) as well as I have mine on a dual boot. so I get TW (Beans) and with a re boot running pacman (PA, AOKP, CM)
There is really no down side to the Note 2 other than it is about 9 months old... (Is that really a down side? the longer you have a phone the more options we have with the developers that come out with the new development options)
I have my eye on the note 3 when it comes out and I still would't get rid of the note 2.
With the S4, It is a great phone all of the awesome TW stuff and the blaster. The best thig is jacking any TV that you are near. Good stuff when your in the DR. Office and DR Phil is on, opps was on, I just jacked it and put on Sportscenter...HA!
if you like there are some really cool Original Android devs that are doing some cool stuff.
It still is really new and the development hasn't really been where it is with the Note 2, that is if you are into all of the new ROMs and bells and whistles...
We just ran into a snag until the new verizon OTA gets rooted, unlocked and opened up for the devs to get into it so those of us that like the TW ROMs.
I would not trade the Note 2 for the S4 , but that is just my .02
Right now the S4 is in a awkward stage with the Dev's. As mentioned earlier the latest OTA update locked the phone up tight. There is a huge bounty to re-root & unlock the bootloader yet no one has cracked it yet. If you're not into customizing your phone via root and custom roms then the S4 is a good choice. The screen detail alone makes the S4 very appealing. Get the S4; better equity and trade in value.

i wish i never sold my note 2. perfect daily phone for me. the s4 gets warm/hot to me where the note 2 never did. both have pros and cons. i cant wait for note 3 and htc one. s4 will be gone if either one of those is decent
My wife switched and is really happy.
She loved the Note II but the size was getting to be an issue for her.
She found the S4 noticeably lighter in in hand which she preferred when using her phone for extended periods, and that the S4 fit her various pockets in her smaller purses better. Those were her two reasons. She loved the extra screen size on the Note II, but has been happier overall w/the S4.
Would have got the N2 but at the time it was 300 when the S4 was 200. I just couldn't pay more for an "inferior" device. If they were the same price IDK what I would be with now though.

I still have both. However, I don't use the Note anymore. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just to busy playing with my S4. At first I did miss the S pen. It came in so handy at work. Running around and taking notes on the go, I saved thousands of trees Lol.
It does get warm. This differs with choice of kernel in my experience. While development isn't yet massive, it's not a ghost town either... As you can see. Personally, I'd make the switch... Unless the phone your looking at has the update??
Dual boot? I think it's time to take a gander in the Note 2 forums.

begin with galaxy S3,then note 2, and now S4, I cannot resist galaxy products!
I made the switch a few days ago.. gave my brother my note 2 and used his upgrade to get the s4. I definitely like some of the small features that the s4 has that my note 2 didn't (the smart video view in particular). I never really used the spen all that often so although I do miss it, it's nothing for me not to have it.
The main reason why I switched was because of the size on the note 2. I do love the screen size on the note 2(the only thing I truly miss), but the size of the phone it brought with it were getting old. I text a ton, and not being able to text on one hand without getting extremely pissed at the constant typos just got to be too much.
I haven't seen too much of a hit on my battery.. I could easily get through the work day and all evening with my note 2.. but I've yet to require a charge mid day on my s4.. and I'm using smart features which I didn't on the note 2. I'm definitely glad I made the switch.. something as little as being able to use cup holders to hold my phone is so nice.

I personally didn't get a ton more out of my note 2 if you consider the screen on time.

I had the note 2 since launch up until about a month ago when I got the s4. I still have the note. I just moved it over to a secondary line. I use both daily for different things. The note 2 is still an awesome device.... The s4 is my daily driver.... Wow. I'm sure I'm not being helpful at all. If u can look past the IR blaster and the resolution. Get the note 2. My kids are always losing the remote so the s4 comes in handy. The rest of the features I feel are just gimmicks. Nothing really..... Extravagant

[Q] Difference between S4 and S4 Active

I recently purchased the Galaxy S4 Active, and when I was reading about it, it seemed that the specs were basically identical, other than the obvious water proof and gorilla glass, and also the slight camera change to its brother the S4. With that in mind, I was wondering if the ROMs listed as "Galaxy S4 Roms" would work with my S4 Active? I ask because I haven't seen any ROM released specifically for the S4 Active, and I also saw this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474 which looks pretty interesting. I would love the vanilla google type rom. The only reason I have this instead of a Nexus 5 is because there was a Thanksgiving deal that made the S4 free with a contract, and I didn't have $350 or whatever the Nexus 5 costs. Haha
Sorry if it has been asked before. I've done some googling, but seeing as the names of the phones are so similar it's hard to find good information.
Thanks in advance,
Caleb
