[Q] Samsung S2 GTi9100 Dead- Soultion Need. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
I am new to this website and I am here to get a possible DIY solution to restart my Galaxy S2.
Its been a week now and its not working at all . I have checked almost all videos and thread however unable to find a steamline solution.
My phone was showing Samsung logo in case of power Up however after that there was no responce. Tried several times but no luck.
Later I gave my phone to Samsung sevice station , guy gave the assurance to get it done in 3 hrs as its a normal thing. Today, I got my phone back in a dead state and he says (Sir, we are unable to reboot as it has some harware issue and will cost over 8k INR to change the mother board).
Guys, I dont find it worth investing on a 2 Yr old phone. Hence I want to take a chance to get it started myself.
Please Guide.

You can't. Do you think they make this stuff up at service centres or something ? Not everything is a Samsung conspiracy against users.
If your phone won't boot at all & shows no signs of life, what do you expect anyone here to say ? One way or another, if you want your phone to work again, you're replacing the motherboard. Whether you pay a service centre to put a new one in, or whether you source a 2nd hand one from a 'donor' phone (one with a broken screen which is otherwise OK, for example) & either replace it yourself or pay a local mobile repair shop (who isn't a Samsung service centre) to do it, is up to you.
As you've already mentioned you have a 2 yr old phone that doesn't work, and it won't be working again without you spending a not insignificant amount money. If it were me, I'd be getting a new phone.

Exchanging SGS2

I need some advice please.
When I received my SGS2, it had a couple of problems. A few of the games I played made the screen freeze and the 3g keeps dropping out even though my Nexus One with the same sim holds a strong signal. I contacted the suppliers and they were able to offer me an exchange, so they are going to send me a new phone and take the defective one back (courier will do the swap-over). Thinking that I was getting a new phone, I thought I would root the one I have as a practice. I have also downloaded the rom that gets rid of the triangle.
My questions are:-
Where can I find the binary counter, I have gone into download mode and cannot see where it tells me how many roms I have downloaded.
Secondly I have ordered a USB jig from DH2311 but I know he has been snowed under with orders and I dont think I will get it in time, as the phone exchange is happening on Tuesday.
When I first reported the fault the phone company said that due to zero stock, I would have to wait for upto 5 weeks for a new one, instead it is now coming after just over a week.
So will the phone company check to see if I have rooted even though I will already have the new replacement and will they try and charge me for the second phone through my phone account as it was rooted.
Thanks for any advice.

Thats up to them and yes rooting invalidates warranty .
You can search for the Samsung Rooting post to service centres to confirm .
download mode then its says button up .

Its hard to find working main boards. Quickest way is to get it repaired by samsung service centers. But it will almost cost you as same as getting a second hand GS2. If you are willing to take a risk you can buy screen damaged phones on ebay and use its motherboard. Decision is up to you
i can't find any screen damaged phone on ebay or amazon

Then you should take your phone to samsung and ask for the price of a mb replacement
Nothing new .. still searching
and samsung agency on my country told me the board coasts 90% from the price of the phone as new
so , i should end my searching or there's any hope ?
You've already been told either eBay/Amazon for busted phone or Samsung/authorised repairer (who will charge you labour to install said MB; Samsung won't sell you one for obvious reasons, as you've found out)
What more are you expecting anyone here to tell you that you haven't already been told ? You were told those options because they're the options anyone who visits here in your situation would look at (I know I'd be looking for a 'donor'/broken phone first, then I'd be biting the bullet & either paying Samsung to fix it or get a new phone).
Posting here again in the hope this has somehow changed over the past week isn't going to make it so.

Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone - Motherboard replacement

Hi All, I have been using S2 since 1 n half year. I have rooted my cell many times , recently I rooted my cell with Jelly Bean unofficial , it was working fine for 1 month , yesterday suddenly cell phone was switched off and it did not restart. When I took it to Samsung service center , the person says , there is problem with Motherboard whcih need to be replaced for 10000 rs. Can any one suggest for alternative / lesser price motherboard / any suggestion. Thanks in advance.
Check eBay/Google search to try & buy a 2nd hand broken phone/with a broken screen (someone on here also managed to find a 2nd hand board on its own about a week or so ago, I don't recall where from) you can pull the motherboard out of & swap into yours. If you're not confident doing it yourself, a local mobile shop may do it for your more cheaply than what you've been quoted for what I assume (??) is a new motherboard as opposed to a 2nd hand one.

IMEI Fix due to new motherboard?

Hi guys !
A few weeks ago, I accidentally deadbricked my Galaxy Note I717 (known in Singapore as the Note 1 LTE/N7005) , so I sent it to a repair shop to get the whole motherboard replaced. I just got it back yesterday, and I could not get a stable signal at all , only LTE and GSM on rare occasions for a few minutes. I checked the IMEI and found out that the software's IMEI did not match the one printed on the back of the phone.
Any ideas how can I get this issue fixed WITHOUT buying a 3rd party SDT Box or such items?
Thanks !
From what I know, replacing the motherboard is like getting a different phone. So, you may need to contact your service provider and tell them that you repaired your phone. See if they can update your account to make your service work on the phone.

S2 will not power on

A couple of weeks ago my S2 keep restarting itself and then getting stuck while booting. After doing that a few times, it went totally dead and will no longer power on. I have tried a different battery but it didn't work either.
Any advice on how I could go about fixing this. The device was rooted and was running a custom rom for over a year without any problems.
Give us more info!!"
What rom?
What kernel?
Replace motherboard - service centre = new board (expensive option), or source 2nd hand board yourself online & pay local mobile repair shop to swap (not service centre; cheaper option), or new phone.
the only way is go to your nearest service center and get the phone repaired.
