This is a thread for people to post when they receive their Note III. I have one Preordered on Verizon but just put this thread here for people to subscribe (did not get mine yet) - when others post when they have gotten their Note III maybe that will help pin down when they start shipping.
I've never preordered, I've always got it release day. Hoping I get it a day or two early. Thought the other thread got a bit off topic and a little harsh.
I played with the AT&T one in store and I hope we get root and can bypass Knox counter.
I really was pleased with what I saw, but I don't know if I can have a phone I can't root or mod... been doing that since the old Windows mobile days, then with android since the HTC incredible, nexus and n2.

Sitting here, tapping my fingers furiously waiting, waiting, waiting. Hoping it does ship early. Thinking of sending my GG watch back when I get my bundle though, but can't wait for the GN3
Just pre-ordered mine through Verizon today. Decided on the black one without the Gear watch. The employee said that they might get them a few days early like they did with the two previous models. I don't know how good his word is, but at least it's something to hope for. When the phone finally drops there's going to be a lot of happy users on these threads.

Your bill cycle ends a few days before your bill is available to view. It should be on your next bill. Check your cycle dates.

Thats impressive ping on that test, you say thats a verizon tower? All the towers in my area the pings are over 100ms, usually between 110-130. Theres a tower in my backyard as well and i get the same speeds but the pings are bad to me. I done a speed test recently on one tower and got 56mbps down and the ping was 116. The at&t network in my area has pings half that of verizon, their network feels faster to me because of that. ( I had to remove the image from the quote, forum rule, I dont have 10 posts yet.)

Im going to take this with a grain of salt. Im sure there will be issuances anytime you have a device that's just out it has can have problems. I have faith given the OG Evo's track record that yes in a month theyll have an OTA update that addresses a lot ... still getting mine next friday .

F THAT! My wife has a friend who just happens to work for Sprint. she got her hands on the phone, her own, today! I played with it. the 24th can not come soon enough.
say what you want I have no pics to prove it but I wasn't going to spend my 5 minutes with it taking pictures. I wanted hands on time. personally 3D isn't bad I think people are expecting too much, more than anything. 3d Photo's are awesome. and the 1.2 dual core, and 1GB Ram. what is waiting? hands down butter smooth and fast. So responsive the phone moves as fast as you do at times, and you end up in places you aren't aiming for. I'll take that ANY day!
Ah I'm in love. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! If you really take the 3D as an added feature, and take in everything in minus 3D it's everything you dreamed of. My wife wasn't as impressed 3D, but she also admitted she expected the 3D to be more "movie like". whatever. she thought everything else about it was great and she owns the shift.
Also I think sense 3.0 is sweet. granted I'm coming from a samsung moment so ANYTHING other than samsungs crap is better in my eyes, but think the lock screen features are great.

How did you come across that deal? I have an HHGregg nearby, but I'd like to go into there with some sort of idea of how to convince/persuade them of that crazy price...any help would be appreciated. I didn't see it advertised anywhere in their weekly ad, thanks.

I actually just went in to see if they could get me the 149 as listed on the website so that best buy would price match. When they pulled up their system it was listed for $1.00. You shouldn't have to do anything to convince them to give you the price.
I know it sounds crazy and I have no idea why they aren't advertising the heck out of it, but I have attached a pic of my receipt... Its the real deal.

Thanks, I checked with my local hhgregg (Tampa, FL), and they do have the Droid DNA in their system for $1.00 for a new contract (didn't ask about upgrade price since I'd be a new VZW customer). They don't have any in stock, but my gf and I will be ordering 2 as soon as we can both make it to the store (hopefully this evening). The associate said there wasn't an end date to the price in their system, so it may be expire with this week's sale on Saturday, or it may end sooner/later...who knows.

I was told the same thing about it not being in stock, but I ordered it on a Thursday (1/3) and had it on the following Tuesday (1/8). Hopefully you get the same turnaround time.
This price has been going on since at least 12/28 which was when I first inquired, so hopefully it continues for those that are looking to pick one up.
Great now I only have to save up $400 for my security deposit lmao. Hhgregg would charge the same deposit as Verizon no?

hhgregg wouldn't "charge it" per say.... meaning Verizon would get the money, but yeah unfortunately they wouldn't be able to bypass Verizon's security deposit requirements.
But hey at least it would only cost $401 instead of $599 for the deposit and the phone... lol.
I took the $200 that I would have spent on the phone and instead bought the 2 year protection plan. The plan covers way more stuff than Verizon's, there's no deductible, and it works out to less than $10 a month.
Just thought I'd share.

It's up to VZW, and it's doubtful that they'll budge.
I've been with the Rezound for over a year now and haven't asked much from you guys but to me every little bit of info you give me is a wealth of knowledge. So wanted to say thank you and its been great, but its time to move up to different and better thing's (DNA). But buying the phone outright so I will have my Rezound still and will use it as a WiFi only device. Won't be upgrading due to lost unlimited data, so I opted to buy the DNA out of pocket. DNA is a waste of money period :good:. Poor poor HTC spamming high end devices again in hope of getting their foot back in the market. But best of luck to you OP. Many have moved on from the Rezound but still come back here!

And its confirmed that Verizon is getting this phone that hasn't even been announced yet? And 2 months after that the gs4 will be getting announced and then a note 3, and so on and so on...
I know it's always the next big thing and next and so on but when the phone the DNA should have been is coming out in March why not wait especially when paying cash for the full amount. 16gb upgraded to 32gb, bigger battery, better processor, to each his own I am holding out for this X phone from Google/Motorola if selling phones from the play store is going to be a yearly thing I will be doing that each year to keep my unlimited data. If Verizon tries to come up with some kinda [email protected] block and say if u buy from google we will take your data away if you don't pay the extra $15 a month I am taking my 4 lines and leaving. But if he likes the DNA its up to him I was just saying why not wait for the M7 he never wrote back so he is long gone.

I'm coming up on upgrades on my kids' lines next month so I'm curious to see what is coming down the pipe. right now, I'm leaning towards the note 2, but if this M7 comes along, it could be a great phone.
M7 and the M4 are rumored to support LTE "where available." meaning, verizon most likely is going to have it, and HOPEFULLY it's not going to be in the Droid line.
i'm excited for it. i think i'd rather have the 4.7 inch size than the giant 5.0 inch the DNA was. i loved the DNA, but i think the M7 is gonna be great. i'll probably end up buying one off contract lol

M7 Has the lte chip and will be offered at VZW and Sprint. The full announcement will be feb 9th
yeah, but the M4 is a 4.3 inch 720p phone that was hinted at today, and that's gonna have LTE as well.

haha i know, i saw that too..pretty funny. none of these names will be final, i'm sure.
I think HTC should just start releasing them with their codenames. Mecha, Vigor, stuff like that.

Hi all. I have an opportunity with an upgrade on my line and I was wondering if I should just wait or grab this bad boy now.
That is up to you my friend if it were me I would be too impatient to wait for the note 3 but we both know that the note 3 is going to be extremely intense.. even though the note 2 is already pretty damn intense as it is.
I personally see myself keeping this phone for two years or more ((the technology in the note 2 will hold up)... Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I am a smart phone junky!! I in a 3 month period I've gone from iPhone 4S to galaxy s3 to iPhone 5 and now I want the Note 2 lol. I have zero patience when it comes to waiting for new devices to come out. I know the note 3 is going to be an absolute beast but I have to say the note 2 has me itching to buy it this weekend. How is your battery life? I should also mention I love carrying 2 smartphones. I just recently realized there are more people like me lol.

Get both. If your a phone junky like you say you are, youll figure out a way to get your hands on the note3 when it comes out. I know I will. I always say "this phone will last me 2 years" and this phone will for sure. But like you, im too impatient so ill probably get the note3 also.

I always say I'm going to keep a phone for 2 years and I can barely last 2 months. I'm going to get the note 2 and deal with getting the note 3 at that time. Now that Verizon is starting their 12 month financing program starting Sunday it will be much easier to get my devices now. I have an ipad, iPhone and android tablet all within arms reach right now.

I absolutely love my Note 2, but I don't think I could go any larger (as the Note 3 is rumored to be). Any bigger than the 5.5 inches that we have now and I tihnk it will be awkward to carry in the pockets of normal clothing.

I called today to verify and after waiting for the rep to do some research he came back and said that it is indeed happening. There are a couple of requirements though: 1 account has to be in good standing, 2 there can't be a balance on the account, 3 you have to specifically ask for this financing program. I was also told that you can even add a phone to a line that is not due for an upgrade because you will be financing the full retail amount of the phone so I don't believe you will lose your unlimited data.

Well that was terrible advice. I know the frequency at which android devices hit the market and I would hate to spend full retail for something that wasn't worth it. I was just curious is all. I know each device gets better with each release but sometimes that isn't the case. Not all android devices are privileged to getting future updates and by worth it I meant any major design flaws that would make waiting a better idea. I was expecting some to say "don't get it because ......." or buy it because .......... " I don't know much about the note 2 and was looking for input from the forums.
I've got an S4 w/ T-Mobile and am eligible for a JUMP! upgrade. So I went to try to do it online, but the S5 isn't one of the choices available to upgrade to.
Looks like they have the S5 in stock on their site to buy though..
Anyone know whats up? Or has anyone done the JUMP! upgrade to S5 online?
I used my jump for the s5 coming from the s4. I went into the store and had no issues. They gave me 440 for the s4.

I used my jump for the s5 coming from the s4. I went into the store and had no issues. Didn't do it online so I can't speak on that. I got mine the day of release, and to my understanding those was supposed to be the pre-order ones, which was probably wrong but I don't know. I do know that I'll be using the jump again when the Note 4 comes out

I did mine in store. Took about 20 minutes.
They say its easier in the store because you will get your credit instantly for your old phone. Online you have to send it to them
they have to inspect it then they post a credit to your account.

Paid on it for seven months ($192.50 total).
Then traded it in on an S5 and got $400 towards the S5.
So with just seven months, you got a free $407.50 towards and S5 and are now on the S5 jump plan at $27.50 (or whatever) per month with no money down?

The s4 was $25.50 a month, basically upgrading cost 2 bucks more a month. I got the s4 and the s5 with no money down BUT you have to pay the taxes on it.

I did the same thing. No issues. My upgrade day was launch day. SO perfect
Me too... I JUMPed from the S4 to the S5 on the JUMP1 plan... T-Mobile ended up paying off the $425 for my S4 and my payments went up $2.50 a month (who cares lol). Being grandfathered into the old JUMP plan is amazing because now that the initial 6 months is over I can upgrade twice a year... meaning if they release a "Prime"S5 it is mine, or I just wait for the N4 T-Mobile for the win!

How the heck did you get $440 for an S4 on trade in? They only gave me $330 for my Note 3! That's some bull**** right there.
With jump there is no value from my understanding... JUMP pays the balance of the phone and then you just pay taxes...if you don't have jump then you'll get credit or the value of your phone towards the new one...

You guys that did the jump to S5 in store, did they have 32GB models or just 16GB? I don't want to deal with a 16GB Galaxy again.. you have to do a bunch of workarounds to get apps onto your SDCard, and even then only some apps.
You can get the 32gig one but they will send it to you as they don't have it in the store.

Exactly the way I'm gonna do it. T-Mobile said it can only be done twice a year, even if I use my jump a month after I've used it. Just twice a month. So yea, N4 for me too

I walked in on my way home from work on Friday. ASked the dude at a t-mobile store if they had a GS5 and if I was eligible. He looked in his computer and said "yes, and yes"
I was like "sweet"
but "my phone is rooted and I have a rom on it" He said "as long as see the set up screen where you enter your credentials I don't care" I told him I would just reload my wicked rom v7.1 or whatever it was. He was like fine, let me go get the GS5 from the back.. I started to do the reset and he walked out from that back with no phone.. said he had none
I left and called another T-mobile store 2 miles away, dude said they have plenty. I gave him the same speech about being rooted and rom. HE SAID "I will go to the about phone section and on the bottom where it says status it must say, Official"
Of course mine didn't. I spent the entire night unrooting and reverting back to stock. Actually most of the night was researching.
I go the next morning same dude was there. He grabs the phone, go to reset options, hits reset, game over.. lol
Never looked once.
All that said, I'm not rooting this GS5 until I can make sure I can go back to 100% factory..
lol well that's good to heard that at last you end up getting your s5. but do they check knox counter? if you root your device it'll go 0x1 so let's say I unroot it and take it to oem factory settings that will be enough to use jump .?
