I bought two Samsung Galaxy Ace S5831i from China. The phone was good but I wanted to get rid of all the chinese stuff from it and used Odin and firmware from Sammobile. But instead, I installed the MDB file for the S5830i. (Not intentionally though). The phone seemed okay at first and I didnt notice my mistake until I try to use it. Many error messages and apps fail. The big problem is the Camera. It doesn't work...errorhandlesmesssage -1...Well, then I googled for a custom ROM and couldnt find one. So I used firmware for Galaxy Y and installed that. (Intentionally though I thought the two phones are kinda close ) Now, the phone doesn't start or enter into download mode either. I heard I may be able to enter download mode by USB Jig but then what? I cant find any ROM for the 5831i. And what to do with the second phone? It has the S5830i installed on it. Did you go to download mode using Power+Volume Up+Volume down? Don't install Galaxy Y Roms on the Ace otherwise your phone will get bricked! When you say the Galaxy Ace S5831i is that a typo are do you mean 1i? If so there hardware is probably the same a 0i so you can most probably install 0i Roms on this '1i'.

I dont think it is fake. I tried connecting it with Keis and I could download the ROM. But it kept on giving me error messages. Anyone has any idea which phone may be close enough to this one?

There's no s5831i, check again.
If it's a clone, in the box should be a brand name and try to download the firmware from their stores -I don't know about phones, but tablets can be unbricked so easily-.
If you can confirm is s5830i, just try odin and download a rom for your country -google have them, if you can't find the link let me know i'll re look for the page where most of the country roms are available-.

Hmmm if you flashed both of them I have bad news for you... If not, you might want to try dumping the working one and make an odin flashable package...
Another good option is to install antutu benchmark on the working phone and see the technical specs like processor, gpu, etc..

You should post your request in low legacy devices or android hacking. You should also know exactly which components are in your device to know if you can build or port a rom for it. It would be interesting also if you could find the drivers (code) for your phone. Anyway if this phone is not to famous I don't think you can find any custom roms, just build them by yourself.

That phone is not a real GSIII. The processor is different, the RAM is only half as much, the screen resolution is much lower. A GSIII ROM will not work.

failed to mount E/data (cache so on)

i gave it to the guys at MMX service....... its been today...... they are not able to make it.....
givin reason that it goes to same old condition after a restart......

Correct me if I am wrong but you started facing issues after you flashed the JB rom
Also I dont see anywhere the rom you flashed was meant for A101.

As our phone dose not rely on any specific driver situation like Sumsung or HTC phones. That is because of the SoC MediaTek chipset.. Thats Awesome.. Now let me rescue you..

Like I tried all these different ROMs on xperia x10 mini pro u20i, upgraded it to JB 4.1.2, and its working fine, and all these were possible because of Sony's PC Companion that helped me to get my phone out of boot loops an all, now since I don't have that kinda apps for Micromax's A101 (not even in there official site) is there any other way where I can bring the fone back to its factory settings if anything goes wrong while custom rom installation or upgradation from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.2 or 4.3. (I already have those drivers and tools for A101 that was there mentioned though.However I never got those driver files in the phone when I bought it though)
If yes please let me know bout a- the best kernel for A101
b- JB 4.2 or 4.3 (preferably) ROM plus and GAPPS required
c- The stock kernel or some application like Sony has update service app for sony phones(u knw just in case..)

I have rooted n number of phones and this phone does not root.
The micromax A101 has android 4.0.4 version. So when go to settings>about> and tap build number a multiple times
the developer mode does not enable.
This sucks.

thats only one prob in rooting
u have to download this app
PDA NET+
there in go to setting inside it..... it will ask for developer blaah blaah, then click something(yu will figure it out)
and somehow from heaven u will c developer mode,
activate it.................THATS IT
done

Believe me! Nothing is wrong with your device! Just flash the stock ROM back and that's it...
Kitkat Rom for micromax
I have finally rooted my phone and i can't find kitkat rom for micromax a101.
One website says it has the rom
but when try downloading it, the website asks to complete the survey
after completing the survey nothing happens and no file is downloaded.
If anyone has the kitkat rom please upload it on media fire. I urgently need it.

Currently I am not having this phone nor did i have used.
So I cant check and verify this.

Before you can root, make
sure you do all of the
following:
USB Debugging needs to be enabled on your Grand Duos. To do this you will need to go to Settings ,
then Applications ,
then Development ,
and then finally USB
debugging. Check the
box next to USB
Debugging .
Download the following files
"KEEP IN SD CARD DIRECTLY NOT IN ANY FOLDER"
- reboot ur device in recovery mode.. HOW?
HOLD - VOLUME UP + HOME BUTTON + POWER BUTTON
Till u get in the recovery mode.
then using The VOLUME BUTTON scroll "up-down"
select - apply update.zip from sd card
scroll down using volume down - select downloaded file
select - YES
And done ur phone is rooted!!
Reboot ur phone.

i have a flew roms that let me flash my device is a replica samsung galaxy s3 or s4 not sure;
my phone was dead totally only was able to make it recognice as a usb com device, i was able to flash
using Smarth Android Flash Tool and now i have only ligths and vibrations, but the screen desnt turn on,
i could share those roms, but any one have any sugs about the blank screen :S
Hey ! As the title says it too , it's possible to make odin flashable file from firmware downloaded from the phone ? or at least it's possible to backup all the firmware and making a flashable zip for the TWRP ? Best whishes , waiting for positive answers :lol:
