package android.net.wifi SG2 (2.3.5) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I accidentally deleted via SD Maid any part of the library or anything else in android.net.wifi and screwing with my programs when connected via Wi-Fi. Is there a way to update or reinstall on the SG2 2.3.5 only this Wi-Fi library (package) ?
Thank you

[Q] X10i, stuff missing after update to 2.1

Hiya.
Phone model is Xperia X10i. Well, the problem would be, after update to 2.1, there were no applications on phone. I did back it up, and restore ( I think that has nothing to do with apps) but it didn't help. Even some standard apps, like Google Talk were not there.
However, I managed to get my hands on .apk files needed to install GTalk, I browsed with some file manager to that .apk's, but when I selected one, it said that application is already installed.
When I tried to reinstall it (uninstall & install), it said "Uninstall not successful", but other option, "Launch", worked, it loaded Google Talk, it worked fine.
Now, question would be, how to get that (and other) applications to show up on phone, in menu. Seems they do exist on phone.
Thanks.
Please anyone, I'm desperate :<
I also had this problem but it was partially resolved when I reinstalled SAM from slideme.org and clicked on options-->more---> SD card and reinstalled softwares from SD card.

USB Sync Issues, Any firmware update?

Just got my SGS2 unlocked, a model from India. Everything works flawlessly except music syncing.
I bought a Lexar 32Gb class 10 SDHC card, and I have a massive mp3 library.
I am using Media monkey to sync, but randomly it seem to stop syncing, I have also tried songbird. The usb also stay unresponsive from windows until i hit the home button on the phone forcing exiting Samsung kies USB (btw what is that??)
Is there a way to avoid samsung kies? Or Update it?
I am on Win7, my phone is as follow:
PDA:I9100XWKE8
PHONE:I9100DDKE2
CSC:I9100ODDKE2
Is there any samsung firmware update that I can do myself, or am I at the latest
Any other way to access the SDcard maybe samsung kies is the problem?
Start the task manager and kill the two Kies processes. You don't need them for USB file access.
The KF2 firmware is later and my impression is people report it as stable. KG1 was supposedly a test of android 2.3.4, and KG2 is quite new and I just don't know. So for now KF2 is a pretty safe bet (I'd love to be corrected if wrong about that).
XXKF2 (Polish) official firmware is posted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278.
Don't worry about:
1) 'Polish'?: If you are wiping user data and starting fresh, just press the button on the bottom right to change language when it starts up (the polish on that button means "change language") and reset your browser's homepage.
2) rooting?: Flashing an official ROM is not rooting.
Might help others...
Download Samsung Kies from their website, it will tell you about update.
Mine got upgraded to:
PDA: KF3
PHONE: KE4
CSC: KF3 (INU)
It also updated the driver for the USB on my Win7 machine
Well, even with everything up2date.
USB syncing still hangs in the middle of a long transfer.. sometimes just after transfering 2 songs..
Is there a way to enable a "Mass storage mode" for the external SD instead of the MTP
I just copy and paste music and video to external sd card using usb mass storage mode .
Settings >> wireless and network>> USB utilities for mass storage mode .
jje
So, Using the SD as a Mass Storage worked flawlessly for me. I synced my massive library with no issue.
Really, Samsung MTP sucks, and its actually MUCH slower than the mass storage mode. (When it actually work..)

[Q] Another Market problem

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post here so I apologize if this i s the wrong section. The problem is simple, I rooted my phone and installed a different firmware version which already had the market as a stock app (before I couldn't connect to the market). Now I can connect and browse but apps are stuck at starting "downloading". I searched on the forum, I contacted the android market guys but nothing seems to work.
Here's a list of all the things I've already done with no result whatsoever:
Sign in and out of Google Talk repeatedly to restore connection to google servers (google talk or gmail don't give me any problem)
Ensure there is enough space on device for the app to install
Reboot device
Confirm there is strong connectivity on device, and contact mobile service provider
Try download(s) using both WiFi and network (3G/4G) connections
Unmount and remount the SD card
Cleared Market, Download Manager and Google Services Framework cache and data
CheckedIunchecked/rechecked background data, auto-sync, date and time settings
installed oldmarket app and tried using market older version
installed 3.20 market version (I had 3.15)
factory reset and reinstalled the firmware (and went through all the steps again)
went to samsung center to see if there was something wrong with the device
Does anyone have any ideas about how to solve this? It's really frustrating and it's starting to get on my nerves quite a bit.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Im having the same problems. I've even updated to 3.1.6 and still same problems. Android market is slow and I have to try 20 times to go to my app list and do an update.
...anyone?
any ideas at all?
Have you tried to flash any other type of ROM as well as different Radio nor Kernel?
Meanwhile if you need to install an app, you could do it from your computer browser via market, while you find out a solution to solve this problem.
Normally what I do is simply clear the market and google frameworks cache and data, but seems like for you is not working.
At this point must be a radio issue or a ROM issue.
Same problem anyone got solution ?
Have u guys tried Market Enabler? Sometimes it works for me.

[Q] No Internet Connection in Google Apps after restoring

Today I tried the CM9 ICS ROM from this thread on my galaxy tab 10.1. Before installing it, I did a backup in CWM. I then tried out ICS and reverted back to my old honeycomb after a few hours (basically because of the missing camera and no youtube HD).
Problem is, now all my google apps seem to have no internet connection even though I'm connected (Browser works, Twitter aswell). I'm guessing that all the apps that were in that ICS build have no connection now that I reverted back to the old version. This makes my tablet basically useless and I haven't been able to fix this on my own.
I tried to delete /cache aswell as the dalvik cache in CWM. Deleting all user data didn't help either. Reinstalling the apps is not possible because the market can't connect either (I deleted all market updates and pulled the apk from the internets, still no connection)
I have DroidWall installed and tried to reset the settings there, no luck. Even disabling it completely didn't help.
I'd be grateful for any help concerning this.
You could try flashing a gapps package: http://goo-inside.me/gapps.
Thanks, but I just wiped the whole thing and did a factory reset. That did the trick.

[Q] Astro File Manager "recents" [history] will not clear.

Hello,
ICS 4.04
Galaxy II S Skyrocket
Noticed the "Recents" [History] in Astro File Manager was not clearing when I went into Astro's Settings->Cache->Clear History.
I then went into main settings->applications-> forced stopped, cleared data and cache then uninstalled. When I re-installed the old history was back
Anyone know if this can be cleared manually [I'm rooted] via file system? Or if anyway to remove all trace of the Astro application even if it involves SQL DB changes... Not that it's doing any harm but the list is growing pretty much beyond it's usefulness
Many thanks in advance.
