Can't get one handed function to work - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Has anyone had issues getting the one handed (smaller screen view) working? I am stock unrooted and I have checked the box in settings to allow one handed access on all screens. I've watched all of the videos about how to make it work by swiping from off the screen edge and off again in one motion without lifting your finger and it still won't activate. I'm running nova launcher and I tried in the browser and several other apps with no sucess. Any help would be appreciated.
Nick

You need to make sure you have it turned on. When I got my phone, on Saturday, by default it was off.

I find that when I do the little trick on my note 3...I start from the edge swipe quickly to a little less than half the screen then back quickly. Do it fast and fluid works for me all the time.

Thanks for the help folks. I had an app that required accessibility to be turned on. Accessibility will stop the screen shrink from working. Turned it off and all is good.

I think I've seen that addressed on YouTube. Try disabling the ripple effect on the lockscreen and see if that helps you any.
Cool, id say that cut it in half.

Even with that disabled it still takes about 1.5 seconds for it to wake up.
Also under lockscreen, disable Pop-up Note on Lockscreen. I turn my animations to none or .5 under developer options as well, which speeds everything up a bit.

same here. I have the popup note setting disabled, and also have S voice completely disabled. Still the delay.
I have everything disabled that's been mentioned, and I also have the lockscreen disabled, and there's still a delay for me as well.
Possible fix for the lag
Okay, so this lag has been driving me crazy, and I believe I found a way around it, but it has a big trade-off:
Unmount and remove your SD card, and the lag will go away.
Super weird, and hopefully someone can identify what it's looking for on the SD card. This has worked for me in a bit of quick testing, curious to see if it works for other people as well.
Would using a class 10 card help?

I have a class 10 SDXC card, and there's still a slight delay when pressing the power button to turn the display on, even with the lock screen completely disables.
I'm sure it's hardware. Our screens are relatively big and LCD tvs take a lot longer to fully turn on etc.
Maybe it is app related because my phone wakes up as soon as I hit either button. Even with lock screen and s-voice on. I have a 32gb class 10 sdcard as well. I only have a few gigs of data on the card though.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
My phone takes about 1 full second for the screen to turn on after I hit a button.
same here...pulled sd card and even ended up doing a full data wipe/factory reset...still have about 1 second delay....so frustrating
i actually believe its the TouchWiz launcher. i switched to ADW launcher and theres no lag. the lock screen ripple/spen ink blots are smooth. though if i reset my phone it loads TouchWiz first and makes me choose adw launcher again, and that first time i notice the lag. as soon as i pick adw launcher all the time..perfect.

Official LG Hidden Options

Hi Guys, i am starting this thread to share some of the Official LG hidden options which have been overshadowed by a race of themes, patches, custom roms, etc to make your device better. I've found these hidden options after fiddling around with my device for hours and I was surprised to know it was there the whole time and I was unaware about it. I know many of us will be surprised but would also like to:good: Invite people to share if they know they have found a secret inside their device.
Changing Homescreen Icons:
This is the pictures of my Homescreen before the change:
Steps-1
Press & hold icon for 2 secs & then release. as you release you'll see a small paint brush picture on the top of the icon. When you see that quickly tap the Icon again.
Step 2:
Now you can choose icons from the presets or use our own picture from the phone by clicking on CREATE PHOTO ICON.
Step 3:
Now select the icon picture from your gallery and done! :good:
Wow!
OMG! I Surprised. But i don't think that its HIDDEN.
But Nice.
Ya may be not for you but i thought sharing would be nice.

If anyone wants to get qslide out of the notification tray, I found a guide on androidcentral that worked.
To remove qslide from your notification tray...
First, pull down the notification tray, then in the quick setting at the top, scroll to the right and look for qslide. If you have it, toggle it and qslide will go away. If you don't have it in quick settings already, select edit and add it in. Then go back and toggle it, then return to settings and remove the qslide toggle. Qslide will be gone like it should be and we will have world peace!

U talking about thermal throttling that when it gets a certain temp, it dims they display? This can be turned off in the service menu ....
Open dialer, and type 3845*#800# I always turn off thermal throttling that dims ur display when phone gets over 100 degrees. Do this by going to High temperature property off, and thermal deamon mitigation off, and enable them both...
That is the code for the at&t version. The 800 between the #'s is the model number, so Verizon guys would insert there model there...

Remove launcher bar

Is there any way to remove the bottom launcher bar off the home screen? I can remove all apps but one. I want it completely gone if possible.
Only way to do that is to change launcher, and then have a swipe gesture to hide/show it.
Yeah, use GMD auto hide soft keys. Must be rooted. It's the best. I have mine set up with all gestures instead of buttons.

I wouldn't be too scared to root. I really know very little about rooting and all that and this was the second device I rooted. There are more than enough resources on Xda as well as YouTube just to make it that much more idiot proof. As long as you are smart with your mods and stuff you'll catch on really easily and learn as you go. I never flash roms or anything, just correct the little things (Like hiding the navigation bar, fixing volume issues) and really enhance my experience. And it is easy enough to go back to stock. If I could do it, just about anybody can do it.

No Twilight does not work. It only shades the main display and does nothing to the secondary display.
You can split apps by 1/4:3/4 or 1/2:1/2 ratios on the main display but on the secondary display you can only have one app (the recent apps button is greyed out. When you're not in split view on the main display, the recent apps button is normal).

LG had a really good thing going with this device and then just didn't follow through as usual. In many ways it's superior to something like the galaxy fold so it had a lot of potential.
I mean they couldn't even get the keyboard right of all things. Their software always falls soooooo short, it's so disappointing. I hope they don't wonder why their sales are always in the tank.
This coupled with the hardware flaws is just the nail in the coffin. I will say though that the phone itself when outside the case is actually a very nice piece hardware wise. I wish the dual screen case was as polished as the device itself. That coupled with a polished software experience would have been the ticket.
This really could have been the device to put them back on the map, so it's a shame they blew it.
It sucks because I was using it on T-Mobile. It has full coverage with bands/wifi calling etc.... Can't look pass that screen.
