[Q] How Can I Sim Unlock Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys!
I've try to cut it short.I would like to debrand (sim unlock) my SGS3, I used a tool named GalaxSim Unlocker, but it sad
"Either your nv_data md5 file is inexistent/wron or Samsung md5 function has changed. Stopping here to prevent eventual errors."
What is it? How can I fix this? or there is other method to network unlock my phone ?
HELP ME
THANK YOU GUYS BEFORE

Best way at present is to purchase an unlocking code from your network. The previously posted free methods don't work anymore due to changes by Samsung to the efs folder.

What prices am I looking at for sim unlock?

TY
Is it possible to downgrade the rom and the modem for the one click method ?

Cost for a code varies, contact your network and a few repair ships to compare.
Yes, you could downgrade to older baseband -but only if you have a backup of your pre-MG4 efs folder and know what you're doing. Chances of bricking the phone are fair and you'll be stuck on that baseband, any upgrade will again lock the network.
That's why I said a code is currently the best option.

OK

No, it isn't. What you proposed isn't possible and wouldn't unlock the phone.

unlocked phone relocked by HTC repair

Hello -
Having had my 1.76 Hero unlocked (£20) to allow vodafone use, it now has to go into HTC to repair a broken g-sensor. It will come back locked to t-mobile again, with upgraded t-mobile ROM.
I intend to replace the Rom anyway, with Modaco custom ROM.
So do I need to unlock it all over again (I don't have a t-mobile sim card), or is there a way to go directly to the ROM flashing?
thanks,
alex
Do you have the option to input an unlock code?

In this case, I suggest you'll need an golden card. Search for it using the searching function.
Good luck.

Edit: Just trying to help. Sorry for my poor english and knowledge.
I myself never tried a gold card before so I'm not sure how it work. I'll have a look at everything I'm going to mention next time.

He isn't asking about rooting, instead of spamming every post in the forum with answers maybe just dont assume he wants something he didnt ask for?
you have even contradicted your post saying he needs a gold card in the last post!

Conditions to unlock bootloader and update the firmware

Hello everyone,
I intend to buy a branded sim locked Xperia Go. It looks like that will bring Android 4.0.3/4.0.4, and the official 4.1 is now rolling out.
Question is, will I have problems upgrading to 4.1? As fair as I understand, if the Carrier does not release the 4.1, I have to apply it manually - and to apply it manually, I have to unlock my bootloader (I suppose) - which from the Sony tutorial it looks pretty simple.
Problem is, since my phone will be sim locked, is this going to be a problem?

[Help] unlock status can't be checked (using *#7465625# )

I have tryed to unlock my I9300 using maually and using the voodoo app, I have noticed that when I type: *#7465625# the unlock status doesn't show up and therefore the unlock was unsuccessfull, Is this a hardware fault? Shall I return it to samsung? Anyone experienced the same problem?
I was on JJB 4.1.2 (Branded (theree))
Downgraded to (4.1.1) Branded
then 4.1.1 unbranded
Now I am on 4.0.4 (UK unbranded)
Thanks in advance for any help

So I can't check my unlock status because samsung has stoped/blocked this service in the S2 and S3? as I can't check the unlock status on my S2 either. But I can check the unlock status on my Galaxy Pocket
I have contact my vendor and have been toled that I would be charged £15.35 which is a lot for an unlock.
I have looked at the GalaxySim app which is for £2.50
So there is no method out there to enable me to extract the unlock code? I mean the code is somewhere in the device, because when an unlock code is typed in, the device checks if it is the correct one and it does that by comparing it with a code in one of the internal files. Please correct me if I am wrong

Some SIM unlock methods do not survive the upgrade to JB. Not knowing the method, it is impossible to answer.
You can always use Galaxsim unlock (search XDA for free) to unlock the SIM once upgraded. It needs root though, but its free.

I would recommend upgrading to the very latest version for your region, yes. You need to get off ICS ASAP really.
If you're making a big leap to say, 4.1.2 (recommended) then you may be best preparing to do a factory reset. This of course wipes the internal SD card too. So just backup what you can before flashing a ROM. Even though you may not need to reset, it is best practice due to settings incompatabilities.
Then, IF you have become sim locked, you can quickly root using cf-auto root, run GalaxSim unlock and unroot again (using super use app).

Unfortunately not like that.
You will need to contact our carrier or pay to have it done.
