[Q] Dumb wallpaper question - Motorola Droid RAZR

I'm currently using a wallpaper on my phone that was originally from a picture file that I manually copied onto the SD card and placed in a folder I specifically created for such background wallpapers. I don't want to lose the wallpaper, but as far as I can tell that file is no longer in the backgrounds folder, so I'm guessing that if I change the background or theme on my phone, it will disappear. Obviously, the file is somewhere on the phone since the background remains in use, but I can't find it.
So...can someone tell me how to determine the location of the file currently being used as the background wallpaper?
Thanks!
PS - I'm running CM10.1.3.

That app definitely brought up more graphic files than my previous ones, but I still wasn't able to find it. The good news is that I finally managed to locate the same background elsewhere on the Internet and re-downloaded it, so all is well. I'll keep playing with this app, though. Looks like it might come in handy. Thanks for your help!

Has anyone actually successfully changed the Facebook icon?

If so, can you explain how you did it because I haven't been able to figure it out yet. By the way, I've already tried all of the standard methods explained here on the forums.
I figured it out!
In Dinkn's glassy icons the facebook file name is: Start_Icon_HTC_facebook.png. This file resides in the windows folder. When you change the icon lt doesn't create a facebook.bmg in the cash. The solution is to make a copy of the original file, rename it to facebook.png and past it to the folder of your choice. Now when you use one of the icon changing programs to change the icon it will create the bmg file in the cash and the new icon will show in the quicklinks menu--sweet
i just used that ICON changer and it worked 1st time...
just hit the show all default icons...then from there..replace it with the one you want

How do I change my icons?

Yes, noob question here, and yes I'm a noob at this.
I want to change the way my icons look, so I downloaded an APK ZIP file that has the icons I want. Now, what would be my next step to install them?
Thanks!
There's an app in the android market called Better Cut that allows you to take images that are stored on your SD card, and make them your application icons. To permanently change your app icon you need to root your device, and the extract the APK. Then you can change the image from there, but you would also need to download an APK signer because the moment you change the APK it changes its signature with which it is packed with.
+1 for Better Cut. I bought this app shortly after getting my g1 when it first came out.. still an awesome purchase to this day!

You need the frameworks-res.apk for your firmware version. If the phone doen't turn on, you will need to do a repair (Using SEUS [Sony Ericsson Service Update]), you will loose all your data but you will recover your phone.

Yes, you need to:
1) Install SEUS
2) Connect your phone to the PC
3) press and Hold "BACK key" until green light turns on.
4) Follow the steps to repair.
Trying to delete applications I completely kill my phone and I could bring it back with that procedure.
Any launcher application won't change the theme (color and icons). For android 1.6 you change manually the color, takes little time. First root your phone, then get (use pull command) the framework-res.apk from System/framework folder. open the apk file with 7-zip or winrar and drag the all folder named like drawable*** to a temporary directory. Now change the view to thumbnails to see which folders are having images (.png). Go to those directory and pick desired file to edit. If you have good image editing software you do whatever color you need. I use .net paint because it's free and good enough for me. Once you are satisfied with the colors you just made again open the apk with 7 zip and open the particular directories to drag and drop your changes files. Done with colors.
Now use pull command for the system/app/ folder ...you get all the apk. In each of these apk you will find the drawable kind of a folder find the icon that comes on phone. Use your icon/downloaded icon, (do change the icon into 48x48) and darg and drop in the proper place of the apk. I used ireflect icons(google it).
By the way don't unzip and zip the apk file, that won't work.
Now push all the files in there respective folder and type reboot.
Now you will find there are still some apk is missing in the app folder, that is basically stored in data/app folder. But if you try to pull the whole folder nothing will come. use "ls" to view all the files and then use pull command by name. you will get it. Change the icon, install the apk just change the signing. To change the sign you need to delete META-INF folder then sign it.
You don't have to push-pull in this case just install the modified apk (before that u should uninstall the app).

Android 3.1 Wallpaper Directory

Hi,
how do i get access to the wallpaper directory. I would like to replace on my tablet the original wallpapers with custom ones. I do not want to crop or use the Gallery for wallpapers all the time.
My tablet is rooted and i have read somewhere that the directory should for the wallpaper should be
/Data/Data/Com.android.settings/Files
but somehow i cannot access. Every time i click data nothing happens.
Thanks
Just place your wallpapers on the sdcard and you can use them. I think the stock wallpapers are in the launcher apk. Some custom ROMs and DocRambone have taken the wallpapers out for optimization.
I believe they are in the framework-res.apk
system/framework/framwork-res.apk

THANK YOU for asking this question! I have been looking and searching for a way to find my wallpaper (with no success until I found your post). Your path worked for me.
My steps:
I used Solid Explorer as the file manager
Then using the toolbar on the right-hand side of the screen, I went to Jump > Device > System root.
I located the data folder and clicked on it. I was then prompted by Superuser for admin permissions.
I then proceeded to data/data/com.android.settings/files where I found a file called "wallpaper" (no file extension).
At this point I copied that file to my Pictures folder and added ".jpg" to the end of the file name.
Suddenly, there was that elusive, original file, of the photo I had been seeking for so long!
I had taken a trip out to the "sticks" to a cabin that my family owns. I had taken lots of pictures, but through the course of several events all of the pictures (save this one) had been completely lost. As a result this photo became very important and iconic to me. Thank you Internet, and thank you indianx for posting the question. I now have my picture back and secured.

Folder Bug (Icons Auto Rearrange)

Hi, I'm having a strange problem with the folders on TouchWiz. After I've filled some apps into a folder which i created, say 4 apps in total for example, and they are arranged in the order 1,2,3,4 (from left to right). But after i reboot the phone, The apps in the folders rearrange themselves in the opposite order 4,3,2,1 (from left to right). In short, the apps in the folders rearrange themselves in the reverse order everytime i reboot my phone. Any idea on how to fix this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure u can see an order there or?
So f.ex. before reboot it's sorted by time from input (newest to old)
After reboot it's sorted by f.ex. name? PLS check this first.
CHEERS
What is f.ex. ? Folder extension?
What I mean is that I've created this folder called "News" then i started to drag apps into the folder, Pulse followed by Time Mobile followed by Engadget. So now the apps are in that order in that "News" folder. Then i reboot my phone, and the apps inside the folder are now arranged in the order Engadget followed by Time Mobile followed by Pulse. In short, the apps reverse their arrangement WITHIN the folder everytime i reboot the phone. And yes, the order of apps is sorted by time from input into the folder. Before reboot, oldest to newest. After reboot, newest to oldest. The order gets reversed with every reboot of the phone.
The folders themselves don't have auto rearrange problem, same goes for the apps outside the folders. They remain in the same position before and after reboot.
I hope I've made myself clearer now.
Bump. Anyone has any solution?

f.ex. : for example
hmm so for me listen logical.
News folder: news to old
Sure while creating it, it's in other way.
So Maybe u find an app which helps to create folder,
but stock folder can't be changed especially if they are created from app?!

No offense but i don't understand a thing you typed.
I am using stock ROM so my folders are created using the stock folders app which comes together with the standard default TouchWiz launcher.
This is how i create folders: (Application Tray > Menu > Edit > Drag icons into "Add folder")
Folders can be renamed. After the folder is created (by default it will be named as "Folder 1") you can just open up the folder and at the top of the folder which says "Folder 1" you tap and hold it for about 2 seconds and the system will prompt you to rename the folder.
Please try Menu > Save after changing apps or folder location.

Thanks it worked for me. Not sure if it's because of your method or the firmware version (i recently upgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6) but anyway it's fine now.
