HTC One AT&T RUU 3.17.502.3 - Decrypted RUU zip:
RUU_M7_UL_JB43_SENSE50_MR_Cingular_US_3.17.502.3-decrypted.zip
Firmware only: firmware_3.17.502.3.zip

CID: CWS__001
To flash (s-off only):
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip [I]rom.zip[/I]
Replace rom.zip with the actual zip file name.

Thank you for sharing. Is the full RUU.exe file available to download as well? If so, are you able to share the location or does the general public have to wait?

It's taking for ever to download the decrypted zip. Is it anyway you can remove the largest file and allow me to download so I can make a firmware package. Don't really need the system img.

Alright this is what I've done, I've flashed old touch drivers and then used the 1.26.502.15 rom to flash in recovery. My phone is downloading the 4.3 ota now. How can I copy the ota from my phone?
Edit: Done!

You have one or two options. You can go to my thread and flash the firmware package and then the new radio, then flash a stock 4.3 rom in the ATT thread. Or you can go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474782 download the 1.26.502.15 rom and flash, take the ota, reboot and flash your custom recovery and if it's twrp allow it to root and done. Also if you could do fastboot getvar all in boot loader so we could know what firmware, etc. your on would be helpful.

I'm on mobile atm and won't be near a computer for a while, can someone tell me what radio version is included? Is it the 4T radio from the prior AT&T leak?

The RUU contains radio: 4A.19.3263.13_10.38j.1157.04
The OTA contains radio: 4T.20.3218.13_10.12.1718.01L

I was able to flash the ruu.zip file and return to stock without issues. Currently rooted and using CID CWS__01 -- All after I flashed the ruu, and entered the bootloader, it reported my CID as 1111111 (this was before I changed it).

I've done a ton with firmware zips but haven't flashed an RUU yet. Will an RUU zip clear storage as well? Kind of want to play around with the stock experience for a couple days before ViperOne 4.3 makes an appearance.

Or you can flash a stock recovery without relocking/flashing RUU and take the update if you are on stock ROM.
Why does everyone think you have to rearm your bootloader for updates?
Remember we have an unlocked bootloader which is signed by HTC you don't need to relock for anything, the signatures contained in it are valid
The only thing you have to make sure to receive the ota is to be fully stock, doesn't matter if rooted or not, and that you have stock recovery and all the bloatware that came with the phone, otherwise the update will fail.
Note : if your rooted you will loose root after the update.

IF you are 1.5 S-OFF then its business as usual. Flash the ROM from custom recovery like traditionally you would and you should be good.
Most of us have Hboot 1.5 S-ON, this method involves flashing the Kernel first (however you want to flash: fastboot or Flash GUI) and then flashing the ROM via custom recovery.
im sorry i mistyped, im s-on, and i do know how to flash roms i was wondering the proper steps to update to the newest firmware. i have read many instructions about it but im a moron and got confused along the way
again thanks

Extract the recovery.img file from a RUU/ROM.zip file.
And then fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or rename it to PG86IMG.ZIP and run it like an ruu?
If that's the case, can you just run the last Sprint ruu then do update? Or will the ruu not overwrite recovery and kernel? Trying to figure this out to without messing up the phone. I am also running with 1.5 s-on.

Going back to Sense from JB?

I was on a JB rom, didn't like due to the bugs, figuired I'd go back to Sense and wait it out until a 'stable' JB rom comes out. I wanted to go back to Ineffabilis Deus v1.2 and his thread he recommends flashing back to 4.03.605.2 RUU before flashing his rom. So I did the the RUU but now I'm back to stock recovery, etc.?
Couple questions...
- Did I lose root/su?
- Am I still unlocked/s-off
- Do I have to do the wire trick again
If all of the above are yes I guess I start buy flashing AmonRa, how do I do that again? After I flash AR I'll have root access again, right?
Thanks for the help,
MAC
You will retain s off through anything you do.
You lost root and your custom recovery.
You will have to flash a custom recovery and then a superuser to gain root. Then you'll be back to normal stock rom rooted and free to flash a custom rom again.
Also you probably lost everything in internal sd so yeah.... I lost some good photos from that before

You didn't need to RUU your phone to go back to Dues if you were already on that firmware level. The thread just recommends you be at 4.03.605.2.

That doesn't work for an .img file.
You need adb installed on your pc to flash an .img file. Copy the file somewhere, bring up a command prompt, reboot the phone to the bootloader, select fastboot, plug it into your PC, run "fastboot flash recovery path/to/recovery.img" without the quotes.
You can also just download the all in one toolkit which contains everything you need - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504824

Place this in your sdk platform tools folder
http://unlimited.io/downloads/hboots/vigor/ICS_3.14.605.5/jb_hboot.zip
Then flash using the following commands:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip jb_hboot.zip
fastboot reboot
Then you can proceed with your recovery flash. Technically, you don't need to root again. A custom rom will cover that for you.

[Q] Firmware update after root, s-off, and SuperCID (First post EVER!)

This is my first post,so go easy.
I rooted,S-off,and SuperCID my HTC One and have been running CLEANRom 4.0 and love it, but now that 5.0 is here I would like to upgrade my firmware from 2.24.401.1 to the newest firmware before flashing 5.0. I also messed up and never made a nandroid of stock so going back to that is going to be difficult. Is there any way that I can update without returning phone to stock.
What would the process be to get this thing done?
I have also downloaded the 1.26.502.15 if that is any help.

No, this wont touch any of that...it is just firmware zip with radio, so wont touch your rom. And you cant lose s-off or supercid, unless you manual type in the commands to change them.... but I read somwhere its good to reflash whatever rom you are currently running, after updating firmware. But may not be necessary.....

The TWRP backup is safe to use on s - on? It will also update firmware? Thanks. Also I don't have to relock the bootloader with the TWRP backup correct?

Not sure about s-on I think as long as you remove recovery.img and boot.img it would be ok but I've never had to do that since I'm s-off don't try it until someone who knows answers your question [emoji6]

A Couple of Questions
As the image shows, it appears that my firmware is outdated, but I have a couple of concerns before flashing the new zip file.
I have been thinking of going S-Off, but is it necessary before flashing the firmware and a new ROM (currently running Liquidsmooth KK Milestone 3.2)?
I have TWRP recovery. How do I remove recovery.img and boot.img before updating the firmware?
I'm no noob, but the M8 appears to have more options (for lack of a better term) than my previous Android phones & tablets.

Hey Canuck...
You're right - the additional options for HTC phones mostly boil down to the S-On/Off deal and firmware flashing.
If you've got the AT&T variant and haven't changed your CID, you can use the firmware here. You only need to be S-Off if you're going to flash non-AT&T firmware.
For the recovery, you can just open the firmware Zip file in the OP and delete those two files out of it. When you flash, it will update everything else except those. Alternately, you can just flash without removing them but will have to reflash TWRP via fastboot to get the custom recovery back.

When I try to delete the boot.img and recovery.img files using WinRAR I get a popup that says "The archive is corrupt."

Try using 7-zip. The firmware Zips can be a little strange but 7-Zip always works for me. Or just flash it as-is and reflash TWRP.

Hmm -- no luck using 7zip either. I get a popup saying 'Error deleting file or folder -- not implemented."
Dumb question time -- do I extract the zip file and then delete the img files?

Yep - that's how I do it. Not sure why these particular Zips are difficult; there's nothing special about them. Just extract, delete and rezip the rest.

OK - this is getting frustrating.
I unzipped, deleted, and zipped.
But when I went to the bootloader screen and hit HBoot I got this, which to me says the firmware didn't update.

Did you press power button to select yes update firmware?
If you're s-on you will have to flash full firmware zip only s-off users can flash modified firmware

OK -- thanks for letting me know. So I need to dowload the TWRP backup, put it on the external SD and flash it after flashing the full firmware?
Sorry to be so noob-ish.

Yes make sure you put it in the twrp folder on ext-sd also you need to have twrp recovery on your computer to flash it via cmd using fastboot because after you flash new firmware it will replace twrp with stock & you will have to re-flash twrp recovery
