[Sony Update] 4.4 in November - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

A new rumor has pegged the Sony Xperia Z1 and ZU to be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update on the 7th of November.
This is a little surprising as both Z devices currently run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. so I think it would be wise to take this rumor with a pinch of salt. Android 4.4 is close to being officially announced, but it’s almost impossible to predict when Sony will roll out the update to their devices.
The only logical explanation for me would be if Sony decides to skip the Android 4.3 update entirely to make the jump to 4.4...
However the more likely... Sony updating our devices to 4.3. or perhaps 4.3.1 in November...

Quote from Sony Xperia Blog :
"The likelihood is that the flagship Xperia Z series will see the update to Android 4.3 before the Xperia SP, so we may end up seeing the v4.3 update land even before December."

maybe Sony will bestow us a early Christmas present

When does z ultra update android4.4?

Hello!According to my observation,note3,s4,lg g2,htc one have updated version4.4,but sony z1 and z ultra haven't.Why?SONY has fallen behind.Although,z ultra has many 4.4 ROMs,they are native andriod ROMs,which hasn't unique places.
According to me, it should happen after the announcement of Z2 (Sirius) at the upcoming MWC

Let them take their time, maybe they'll make the update worth the wait. In the meanwhile, enjoy AOKP 4.4

Sony Xperia Z2 & Android 4.4.4

Why Sony Xperia Z2 didn't get Android 4.4.4 as Z1 or Z1c? Will it rolling for Z2?

Most probably it will.
Sony is just trying to support older users because they were complaining about updates a few years back
That is a minor update, i much prefer sony focusing on bringing android L as soon as its released.

Will LG probably update g2 mini to the upcoming android L?

Android L is pretty close now so i have to ask..will LG update the phone to android L probably or maybe not?
If not would a dev be able to utilise that?
Android "L" is not pretty close, it will be released around November.

A small question

Will Xperia z ultra get upgraded to lollipop?

the question has been asked many times, the answer is we don't know for sure, but probably as the ZU is only a year old and Sony have given kitkat to many older xperia
Xperia z ultra got 4.4.4 before Xperia z
If the Google play edition gets its then for certain it will be easier to port it to the XZU and we wouldn't need to wait so long. I think Sony made a mention that they will only release the latest Lollipop based Stock rom 90days after it is officially released by Google to the consumers.

Android Lollipop (14.5.A.0.242) certified for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact

Looks like owners of the Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra will be joining the Android Lollipop family shortly. New firmware with build number 14.5.A.0.242 has just been certified for all variants of the above handsets with the strong likelihood of this being Lollipop.
Sony said that other variants of the Xperia Z series would start to see the update in around two weeks. This was last week, so potentially we could see Lollipop rolling for the Xperia Z1 series and Z Ultra by the end of this month. We’ll keep you posted on further developments.*
