Take good care of your N10 - Nexus 10 General

It'll have to last another generation. There's no way in hell I'm bying an Asus device.

My Nexus 10 is definitely a keeper because it's looks like it might be a while before Samsung make another tablet for Google.
They seem to like Asus now for anything over 5"

Pretty much any time I use it. Unlocking it, opening any app, trying to toggle wifi. It will sometimes freeze for seconds at a time, and the app will usually FC. It's been super frustrating because I don't have any of those issues on the same nightly for my S4.

Probably i know what ur Problem is. Look up the new trim function of android 4.3. That will probably tackle ur Problem. Basically its sort of fragmentation of the memory. You may factory reset if the problem persists because toggling wifi is such a simple task it should never lag. Cm has no stable 4.3 Version yet. I recommend flaming monkey rom, its lean light and fast (basic aosp with some tweaks). You see the N10 still has the bleeding edge architecture with the A15. There are faster devices but only 2 others or so with that modern architecture

I know I'm causing a risky bump with this one, by I'd like to comment on how the nexus 7 is in fact created by Asus, and happens to be immensely more popular than the Nexus 10. I would question the validity of the notion that the New Nexus 10 will suck just because it's made by Asus.

The Nexus 7 is more popular because of its much lower price, not because of it's manufacturer.

When it comes to design, the N10 really received great remarks from the November 2012 reviewers.
The soft/grippy feeling plastic actually handles great and looks good. The subtly rounded corners and edges has a great feel, no sharp edges that bite into the hands after prolonged handling.
Gave my N7 to my spouse and use the N10 as my daily tab. Been using a friends Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition and it's real nice, but I still like the feel of the N10. Enough that I'm not rushing out to buy the 10.1 2014 edition at this time.

It looks like a mix of the Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Tab 10.1. The Exynos 5512 (I think that's what it's called) processor is amazing. It's the same processor found in the new Chromebook.

That's what I said about Samsung and seeing their iteration of the Nexus (all plastic). Pretty much came to terms with ****ty build quality now (I've been skipping out on all Nexus' since the N1, so can't really wait any longer heh)... I'll give LG a chance. They most likely stepped their game up if Google is considering them for their next flagship device.

Meant in terms of software (didn't they have plenty of driver problems?), can't really comment on its build quality as I've never even seen an Optimus in person. Like I said though, I'm pretty much used to 100% plastic devices with fake metal looking bezels now...

The hardware in LG phones is second to no one.. However their software if behind the rest of the pack. Imo.. also I had an lg phone before and when you flashed new software on it you were unable to roll back to previous versions of android or u will brick your phone. I guess being an artist, it only sounds logical to even consider buying a tablet if it has a pen to draw on. At least that's how I justify the money since my note can do all the work I need anyways. If they come out with a affordable GNote tablet I will buy it and then shift my phone to the next Nexus device after the Nexus 4. That way I can stay at the top of development for my phone rather then waiting forever for updates and at the same time have something to draw on. Honestly, the galaxy note is still too small for me to draw elaborate drawings on.
That picture is an I717 ....running GB 2.3.6
Probably a demo unit too....
Likely a 7 inch note would not be a phone ...g

My 7" Samsung tab is also a phone. It depends on the modem chipset.
I've read enough now that I believe that this new 5100 will be more of a tablet.
There have been rumors of a smaller version of the GNote 10.1 so this is most likely it.
if/when it comes out internationally.... it will have phone radios....and a green phone tile on the home row....

I agree. It would be really nice to finally see these great phones running aosp without the need for a custom rom.
Hopefully, this one is going to come to Canada eventually...
Frankly I think it is good that they are doing this but I would rather have a nexus 5.
I'm hoping for nexus 4 prices with
2.3GHz processor
2+GB RAM
5.3 inch FHD Screen
32GB storage
Metal build
Key lime pie
Multi window
Then and only then will i replace my nexus 4. Dont really care about fhd though and the s4 is no faster than my OCed nexus 4
It will be incredible if google goes with the Exynos 5 Octa
Will this come with other features from the original s4?? Not the touch wiz but other stuff

I like the idea, but not the price (and based on the audience reaction...neither did they). I mean you can get an unlocked HTC One for around $560ish. From there, one could root/ROM it and be good to go. Now if the price drops to say $500 or less, I'd be willing to shell out the cash. Which I hope the price point will change. This is a great start to offering a bloat free device, without having to root/ROM it. This would be great if other manufacturers followed suit.
Good move nonetheless!
A true Nexus Samsung phone would be the only way I'd buy another Samsung phone. Getting rid of Touchwiz is easy, but I just can't deal with the lagging of releasing updates.
Boo... too expensive, too mainstream, to dang normal. Optimus g pro version would be nice that's bad ass or version of Sony z... both would be better all around and could be at $500 Google price. I was so disappointed! I just returned my nexus 4 thinking they were going to release something better. I'll stick with my note!!

Not upgrading.. N4 is still fine.. N5 is a marginal upgrade at best.. Skipping a generation is always best unless you're a gamer or benchmark junky.

Looking for a new tablet...

I've been looking in to buying myself a tablet, but I want one that's fast and smooth running. Ipad is great because of how smooth it runs and transisittions between pages, but I want something that my S4 can interact with. Any suggestions? One of the new Nexus 7's possibly? It's pretty much universally agreed that it's the best if not one of the best Android tablets on the market right now. Also, it's super easy to unlock the bootloader since it's a Nexus device and the development community around it is huge.

There are actually 2 Nexus tablets on the market right now... the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. The 2013 Nexus 7 is an excellent tablet you can buy directly from the Play Store or other places online. The Nexus 10 is also worth considering if you want a bigger tablet, and it also has the BEST speakers of any tablet on the market. Personally, I'm waiting for them to come out with the "updated" Nexus 10 like they did with the Nexus 7. Either way, as far as Android tablets go, they are both winners. The only other tablet I would recommend taking a look at is the new Samsung Note 10.1 - it has a gorgeous display and all of the productivity power of the Note software and stylus. It's just a little too pricey in my book though.
