CYANOBIZ - BASED ON GEN9 KERNEL 2.6.37 - A43-A101-A70S2Froyo-HoneyComb - WIP FOR A70S - Gen8 Android Development

BASED ON CM9.1.0 - A70 USERS MUST WAIT A LITTLE THAT I CONFIGURE THE KERNEL (board configuration file)
For A101, just the TS doesn't worked
For A43, it must work, i need a confirmation...

menu.lst:https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1yLsSry4Au8aVlYbGpKZjRCUVk/edit?usp=sharing
I hope that links works, it's the first time that i use google to share something...
You must have:
-an Archos gen8 A43--A70-A70S2Froyo-A101 OR an A70S2 HoneyComb version (must work perfectly....i hope)
-a little times to report bugs to fix
How install it:
-Copy-paste the image uncompress and the menu.lst files in the root of the INTERNAL sdcard of your tab (SDE menu -> mount card)
-RENAME THE KERNEL LIKE THIS: zImage (to delete .img)
-update the kernel and the initramfs.cpio.gz (SDE Menu)
-COPY AND PASTE A NEW DATA_IMAGE (data_ICS.img like previous version)
-you can install Gapp by copy and paste my Gapp (see my post in dev section about Cyanobiz) in "download" folder in /mnt/storage/
What's news:
-a new kernel based on 2.6.37 from Gen9 (HC device)
-PVR Driver update and dss compopsition activated
-New BT driver
-New Wifi driver (but little pb with it)
-compiled with ics toolchain from archos (optimised for their devices)
DON'T TRY THIS KERNEL WITH ANOTHER FIRMWARE/ROM!!
TO FIX:
-little pb with wifi, it cannot find any wifi
YOU MUST ENTER THE PARAMETERS MANUALLY TO CONNECT YOU TO YOUR WIFI!! (dhcp semi-works)
-DLNA/UPNP CRASH the wifi, don't use it
-USB Sharing - MTP?? (windows XP see something about MTP driver that it cannot install it, but i haven't any seven at home to try....) NEED TESTERS
-SOMETIMES the initramfs doesn't started, black screen after the first "archos" screen, just press 10sec power on to reboot (don't know how fix it, no debug)
-I HAVE OC THE DSP FOR A70S2 (froyo and HC version) to 880, says me if your tab freeze. The CPU is to 1.2GHz, i have no problem

HOW HELP ME TO DEBUG IF ADB DOESN'T WORKED:
You have a file in /mnt/storage/kernellog1.txt
Just share me the file!!

RESERVED FOR FUTURE POST again

I need an a70s2 HONEYCOMB Version tester please.
To see if I must change the memory used in my kernel.
If it doesn't worked for them, I must rewrite their board file.
One thing is sure, archos had planned to update our tab with HC, hardware evolution has killed this.

1.) Installation after default accomplished. AOS menu was indicated, system is started. First start lasted longer. Presently the touch Screen does not know operated (now reaction, also after restarting I cannot operate the starting screen).
Enclosed the kernellog1.txt file.

OK,
I have seen this in the dmesg share by Mika:
<6>[ 0.310455] platform mpu.0: OPP enabled 1200 MHz
Your tab is OC to 1.2GHz, i will pass to 1GHz to see if it's better.
A101 will have no problem to have an ICS with this kernel, it's a good news.
For A70 i will release another kernel to see if the frequency is the problem.
Wait this evening for another kernel (1.2GHz step will be activated for A70S2 only)
Bizcuite

I have tried myself the kernel:
platform mpu.0: OPP enabled 800 MHz
[ 0.305603] platform iva.0: OPP enabled 660 MHz
[ 0.305633] platform mpu.0: OPP enabled 1000 MHz
[ 0.305664] platform iva.0: OPP enabled 800 MHz
[ 0.305694] platform mpu.0: OPP enabled 800 MHz
[ 0.305725] platform iva.0: OPP enabled 660 MHz
[ 0.305755] platform mpu.0: OPP enabled 1000 MHz
[ 0.305786] platform iva.0: OPP enabled 800 MHz
[ 0.305816] a70s2_opp_init: MPU does not support 1200 MHz
Can you try and report of it's better please? A43 can try too.
Just rename it zImage and install with initramfs in the first post.
FOR MIKA:
Can you try to have adb working to have a real debug, your system starts (first starts is normal, all news apps are verify).
when you have adb, just tape adb shell dmesg or dmesg directly if are connected on your tab please?
I will see if it's a pb of file or a problem of driver.
And try with one, and 2 fingers if you have any reaction?

ok,
the new update starts very fast.
I come up to the starting screen with the lock symbol.
I cannot unblocking however the screen. No reaction to my finger movements (neither with 1/2 of finger).

Ok thanks. But have you got adb installed on your computer?
It will be very usefull.
But i think that no ts drivers are installed.
I will modify the board configuration, because many ts has been configured into.

I worked never with adb. Sorry
But, if me explained like I it activate / use someone, no problem.
I will then try it
Edit:
OK,
adb neither on Win 7/Linux computer is installed.
You mean over console on archos access (Google is your friend)
Edit 2:
no, if I attach archos to the computer, I can access not archos(with the new system)
Big problem

For how to use it and have adb.exe with dll (command)

You must open a Windows terminal and go to the path of adb .exe
and tape
adb shell dmesg
if your adb is correctly configured, you must have a debug (don't forget to connect the tab )

Folio Linux "Drivers Thread"

There are some people in this forum that have got success instaling ubuntu on Folio. I've got too.
Now i have a great question !!
Are our folios fully driver installed ??
For example, in my folio with ubuntu, i can't use bluetooth or i can't heard any sound because it doesn't run, or also i can't adjust brightness...
I have searched lot of pages and i haven't got success....
This thread is created for people who knows how install this kind of drivers can help us to make us happy !!
If you discovered how to install any kind of driver... or things for optimize ubuntu and make it more quickly please, post it !!
Also would be insteresting if people got success installing programs on our ARM architecture device like Dropbox, Foxit reader, Wine compatibility layer... that are based on i386 and AMD architectures post a how to do it.
Thanks in advance for all people that make that possible.
Hi,
I am working on sound driver. Just trying to find specs as running android do not give enough informations.
I will also try to integrate accelerated drivers as in AC100 build (but system may be unstable...)
Akta
When I installed Linux on my netbook, I haven't got bluetooth, go to software manager(ubuntu market) and search for bluetooth(drivers). May this help you
I'm working on sound too...
I guess there is an GPIO Chip inside the Folio, which manages sound in-/outputs..
I dont know whether the bluetooth and screen brightness are also part of it...
The GPIO has many inputs and outputs, but these are not fix...
So you have to build/run a program which tells them to be an output or input and what they have to do...
I ported the mach-tegra tree and the sound/soc/tegra tree from android-kernel-source to the folio source..
After that I ran nvrm_daemon in a chroot..
For that you'll have to do the following steps:
1. Create a new folder whereever you want (for me /home/ubuntu/Desktop/chroot)
2. mount /dev/mmcbkl0p1 and copy the bin & lib folders into your directory
3. create a folder called system inside your folder and move the lib folder into it
4. create the folders dev and proc
5. open a shell and cd to your directory
6. $ mount -o bind /dev dev/
7. $ mount -t proc /proc proc/
8. chroot ./ /bin/sh
9. nvrm_daemon
You should better run chroot/nvrm_daemon from a ssh shell on your laptop because sometimes the screen gets black, because of segmentation fault..
Then you can take a look @ dmesg..
There are some outputs given by nvrm_daemon.. Also for GPIO but they failed to change some pins because they are already in use..
And I guess thats the problem!
I also tested whats happening when the nvrm_daemon is not starting when android boots.
I removed it from the ramdisk.
After that the folio wasn't starting anymore...
Only after I started nvrm_daemon manually via adb shell the boot screen appers and the window manager starts..
So everything depends on the nvrm_daemon!
I hope you'll more lucky than me and findout why the nvrm_daemon is not starting correctly!
Regards
Thanks for the info.
Will look at that to begin with
Akta
I there, I have contacted Atheros to know which bluetooth chip is in our folio and they replied me that is 3011 or 3012 depending on the version.
I hope this helps to get bluetooth working early. I will try using ndiswrapper to install windows driver after the biggest brick ever!!!
I found the drivers for the gpu
I've gotten through the forums trimslice computer graphics chip drivers Tegra2
To download them here:
Code:
trimslice.com/download/drivers/nvidia-drivers.18.0004.tar.bz2
These drivers are valid for Debian and Ubuntu Maverick.
However, you must edit xorg.conf to make them work properly with the folio 100.
If someone can correctly configure xorg.conf. I would appreciate it also put him in these forums. Thanks
To install the drivers simply must enter the terminal from ubuntu and type the following commands:
Code:
cd /
sudo tar -jxf nvidia-drivers.18.0004.tar.bz2

Hey, I have installed this drivers and now I can't boot ubuntu !! Can you help me ? I send you a mp with my e-mail, we can speak on google talk chat i'm spanish !
thx !!
I had said before, it is necessary to create an xorg.conf file that is compatible with
toshiba screen folio 100.
It is the only way to have graphics acceleration.
Funny how nobody was interested in compiling the kernel with support for
ALSA (and there have been some drivers called tegra) But if you do not work
we can always choose to have sound through USB since.
no news ? aneybody have graphics acceleration ?
up please!!!
please why nobody reply ?

problem ADB over usb

If you can't adb and you have the android sdk installed and path set into your environment than it is just a driver issue.
First download usbdriver http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354487 and extract to download
Open up device manager, you should see Other devices and under it should show Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet with exclamation mark if cable is connected.
Right click on it, select update driver> browse my computer for driver software>let me pick from a list of device driver on my computer>show all devices>have disk> browse to the download folder that has the inf extension file in it>android composite adb interface>next>yes>installing driver software>Windows has successfully update your driver software> close.
In your device manager should Android Phone and under it should say Android Composite ADB Interface.
Android debugging should be check mark
open up cmd prompt and type adb shell.
Now if it does not work then uninstall the driver and selecting delete the driver and also delete usb storage then redo above step.
I have tried this on four computers, none of them recognize the drivers. It says that no drivers can be found for my device.
So ADB over USB works on the CM9 rom now. Any advice for flashing the recovery img using ADB?
Make sure no other USB devices is attached to the computer that you are working on, USB mouse and keyboard should be ok.
Rename folders that you have placed the nook drivers in the past. You will know because it will list the folder paths that you used in the pass.
Make sure you follow the instruction verbatim. Manually uninstall the device and also it will ask you if you want to delete the driver, say ok. Manually install by instruction and do not let it just pick it. Use a different USB port

Yes, sorry for the late reply. I step out. Were you able to resolve the usb adb issue?

how is adb not working for you? are you unable to get the drivers for the NT installed?
If so, you will need to modify the android_winusb.inf file with the hardware id's found in device manager under the properties of the Nook under Other Devices.
It worked! Thank you! I'm one step closer to playing Dead Trigger! For those of you having problems, try restarting both your nook tablet as well as your actual computer. Back around this time last year when I was installing the NT drivers for the first time, I had a similar problem to what I had today. After I restarted my computer everything worked. Not that it matters, but I did this with the CM10 1.2GHz rom.
Which section of the android_winusb.inf file do I need to modify? I search for nook, tablet, and barnes in the file and came up with no results. Can you post yours so that I can compare the two?
Thanks for the help!
Did 5-touch work for you yet?

I didn't ask if you were able to get 5-touch rom cm10 to work or are you still on cm 9? If you are on cm9 , why not try [ROM] SGT7+CM10+Cherry Picks,By meghd00t. New 04/11 5 Touched. It will work either with or without 5-touch implemented. If you decide to install this and you might as well download a free "mulitouch tester" and test if the 5-touch was installed and lucked out. Use the "Thanks" button on the left in the forums.:fingers-crossed:

android_winusb.inf setting for NT CM10
I had problem trying to get ADB working over USB until I stumbled across this post over in the Nook Color General forum.
I followed the procedure outlined in the post and put in the following entry for my NT:
Code:
;Nook Tablet
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_6860&MI_01
and the ADB USB interface finally works for me.
The CM10 build I am using is Succulent's "cm-10-20121225-acclaim-HD.zip (GCC 4.6)".

- Bin4ry
- CF-Auto-Root (*)

What works: adb, but I have that as a result of a "adb shell id"
Code:
uid = 2000 (shell) gid = 2000 (shell) ...
And then I don't know what to do .... ?script? where find script?
Mtk Droid Tools gives me this:
"In system already available: Android Debug Bridge Version 1.0.32

Again I am lost ...
I ask not fit all, but just tracks on where and what to look for to keep moving forward...
All suggestions are welcome, thank you!
Note: I'm on Windows, but I've also Linux, so if there are tools for Linux, I'm interested also ...
*edit*
Important note: I do not know how to access to the boot menu of my tablet ... I have a power button and a large volume +/- button, but nothing happens unless a "reset"! And I also have in the back a small hole but it's just a "reset" and there is no information on the website of polaroid.

you must first remove /uninstall kinguser ( kingroot) from your phone
or the combination of two make it reboot perhaps? .
verify your removed any other thing that installed root (busybox supersu?) .
then retry .
i don't have reboot problem only with other tools like foldermount
that is not really fit to this kitkat 4.4.2 ...
you need let windows install the drivers hit start in windows then in the search field
type exactly
device installation settings
(if your windows is in another language you need to find out how to let windows
install drivers automatically) .

YEs our tablet are slightly different (mid2407cje01.133)
named "polaroid infinite" 7 inches
i am using win7 64 bits
but i think 32 will do same result.
you are using the wrong drivers.
(under android phone)
you need "ROMaster composite adb interface"
look in settings/storage/ 3 dots on top right /usb computer connection
if you are in usb large storage you need see 2 drives letters
if you are in mtp then you need see (under portable devices) mid2x07pj
(you can try change to MTP to root but
first let windows install the good drivers
As mentioned before)
the "root genius" here it goes to 15% then reboot then finish to
root .
= reboot only one time.
remove all drivers set windows to install drivers auto .
then plug tablet to a new usb port.
good luck

Thank you so much! You gave me some good information!
1. I do not know why, but in my mind, when I put in "debuging" mode, I desactived systematically the MTP mode ... So I left the MTP activated with the debugging mode.
2. I have uninstalled all the drivers ...
3. I have downloaded "ROMaster composite adb interface" ...
4. I connected my tablet and Windows has recognized the MTP mobile devices ... but not for the "Android Phone / Tablet", then I have not found how to install the downloaded drivers ... I 've tested RootGenius 1.8.7, but has not found the right drivers ... I tested iRoot V1.7.9.2 (ex VRoot) and there it automatically installed the drivers ROMaster ... But the root procedure failed again ... I uninstalled the apps added by iRoot and rebooted my tablet.
5. I then launched RootGenius 1.8.7, reboot @ 34% @ ... Installation complete reboot ... 37% ... 41% ... 44% ... 63% ... reboot @ 67 % .... 70% ... 73% ... 76% ... 83% ... reboot ... what a thrill! Failed Root ... ... ... :crying:
I do not despair! I would have even if it takes me a year!
Note: in devices manager (with MTP + Debugging), I have:
- Android Phone
+ ROMaster Composite ADB Interface
- Mobile devices
+ MID2407
MID2407 give me access to SD in my tablet...
But with "ROMaster Composite ADB Interface", ADB doesn't work anymore... :silly:
once again do not try download drivers yourself .
let windows do it automatically .
Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.
Right-click the name of your computer, and then click Device installation settings.
Click Yes, do this automatically (recommended), and then click Save changes. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
If Yes is already selected, click Cancel to close the dialog box.
A friend of mine has a tablet very similar to this and asked me to help root it because it has only 1.3ish gb of internal storage and because it has kitkat 4.4.2 apps cannot be installed on the sdcard... so please help us. rootgenius and towelroot can't root it so what should i try next?
Gracias

yes I have installed the v1.9.0 setup in device manager in laptop when I connect my tab with debugging enabled it shows in portable device my tab name, and other device mtp is shown with yellow exclamation.
mtp drivers for tab are not getting installed.
in cmd when I hit adb devices I don't get my tab details

yes its shows yellow error in mtp but I am able to transfer files from laptop and tablet only thing is I can't use cmd and adb but after going thru your link I come to know that my adb was too old which is of my HTC explorer so I downloaded adb (platform.zip) from the thread given in your post and then for mtp I manually selected driver installed in my laptop I.e adb interface >Samsung adb and then I tried cmd in new platform.zip which had updated adb files for jellybean+ version and now its working fine.
Dunno how you did that. I'm a newbie.
Could you plz help me out ?
I don't have any sort of "Adb" connection in device manager (which you can see in my image), which was supposed to be there.
Can you give me a detailed explanation of what you did ????

so you too also want adb to work for you right?
I can't say exactly what made it work for me cause I have s duos 2 also n so its drivers are also installed in my lappy.
but you do one thing
1.install Intel android driver from above post v1.9.0
2.enable debugging in tablet and connect and then goto device manager where you have mtp error, right click on mtp, update drivers select from folder will appear below that must be some option select from installed drivers goto that see Intel android driver after that you will be getting multiple option android adb interface, adb composite interface select any one preferably android adb interface and install.after that uncheck debugging and again check it and see if mtp error is gone from device manager.
3.download platform.zip from your given thread link unzip it and in that folder open cmd by holding shift and right click do open cmd here and check if all is OK by typing adb devices,if its OK it will list your device.
I'll give it a try, then i'll inform you. Till then, please stick to the post ! Thank you for the info BTW.

if still yellow error is shown on device manager right click on it update driver, then browse from folder or look for installed driver some where is must be there search something related to Intel or adb and select that else forget it cause what's the use of adb for us as there is no custom ROM or other things to do.
other way is download helium app on PC and tablet and in ptp mode you can get adb working

Broadcom Wifi compatibility

hi,
for use with Hackintosh, I installed a Dell DW1510 (Broadcom BCM4322) Wifi PCI card in my ThinkPad X220. It only barely works with Android x86 / Remix OS.
Out of the box, it is detected, Mac Address is displayed and it can be enabled, but it searches for wifi networks forever.
Using Linux, I installed newer (closed-source) firmware files. Now it does find wifi networks, but only 5GHz / -ac ones. Beside that, it's extremely slow (only getting about 4Mbit download, normally around 50Mbit). I know the "open-source" b43 is slower than the propietary broadcom-wl one, but it wasn't THAT much on Linux.
Is it possible to use/install the propietary broadcom-wl driver, or getting at least 2.4GHz working and more speed (It was around 15Mbit on Linux with b43)?

Did you have any success with your Wifi? I am running the same chip in a Macbook & experience the same problem... searching for networks forever. Could you describe how you installed the newer firmware files?

Use this method for now, works better than the open-source-method: https://m.reddit.com/r/RemixOS/comments/40rjvg/how_to_get_broadcom_wifi_to_work/

It's normal, modprobe does not Output anything. Don't reboot, just type exit to continue booting. If RemixOS reboots then, something else is wrong.

ok....i type modprobe in terminal in remix os...not at boot at remix
i tested but my wifi dosn't work...i have searching wifi and nothing appared
i have Broadcom BCM4352
I'd like to point out the exact way how to do this workaround to avoid any missunderstandings:
1. add the DEBUG=1 flag to your grub parameters and press F10 (only (U)EFI Booting, for Legacy Booting just press Enter)
2. wait for the debug terminal to come up
3. type modprobe wl (if no message appeared you're good to go) and then type exit to continue booting
4. enjoy your perfectly working WiFi (hopefully)
Please note this is only a temporary solution that you would have to repeat at each boot-up. Searching for a permament solution I only came across the same Reddit thread that @TheXorg already linked: by renaming/deleting a folder in the kernel/driver section I managed to achieve the same working WiFi result without having to type anything at boot-up.
Here's how:
In debug mode.. Delete ssb folder from /lib/modules/4.0.9-android-x86+/kernel/drivers.. It helped me wid other x86 android and the new pheonix os.. Idk abt remix but its worth a try

I simply installed a root explorer (Solid Explorer in my case) and renamed the folder within RemixOs. After a normal reboot without DEBUG=1 flag WiFi worked absolutely fine.
- tested and working on my Macbook 5,2 (Early 2009) with Broadcom 4322 Wifi Chip. Credits & thanks to TheXorg for starting this thread, to Turtle5204 and Elflord5431 for sharing these workarounds

Hi @Whitest, did you try this on the latest version? Because I'm facing some issues with the mac mini 3.1 (early 2009 and broadcom chip like yours) and without success... Nothing happens with the modprobe and cant delete the folder on debug (it gives an error deleting).
