how about the battery and screen of this android phone?
have anyone bought it already?

I use Huawei P6, I do not play games, so the battery can use more than one day, but sometimes the screen unresponsive. One time I play games, three minutes later, the phone began to heat, heat dissipation is not very good, so now I don't play games.

Yeah, i just bought this phone one week ago and already got it yesterday (living in germany). I was not sure if it is a good idea to order a smartphone from china but i gave it a try because of the comments here. In addition to that, a friend of mine recommended this site to me. The phone looks nearly exact like the samsung galaxy s4 and its performance is amazing. The hardware is a bit slower than the s4 but it's still pretty fast. All i had to do was changing the language to german now i can use it as i did with my last smartphone. The only negative point so far is that on one side of the frame around the display, there's some space which should not be like that. I think im goin to put some glue there, then it'll be fine.I don't regret having bought this phone and can both recommend the store and the phone.

Ulefone P6+
I'm in the UK and have one too, got it just before new year (delivered within 4 days of ordering) as a replacement for Zopo ZP980 that smashed (rather easily I might add). P6+ is a much better fone albeit a lot bigger, 2 batteries supplied (2800mah) and 1 easily lasts me an entire day with light to moderate use including phone calls, messaging and some Appy Geek app surfing. Note style flip case with window that was also supplied is pretty good, it has hard plastic back, sides and corners that protect it to a degree although I have tested how much for obvious reasons. The fone gets a little warm when used for a while but nowhere near as hot as the ZP980 which felt like it was going to melt so heat dissipation is pretty good . Doesn't seem to have any updater software on it though so doubt if any firmware will be released for it. I haven't rooted it, primarily as there are no discussion threads other than this one so no development work done that I am aware of. I installed Apex launcher and the KitKat theme which looks and works pretty well but I'm sure a proper KitKat port would be better. If you want a big screen fone for less than £200 off contract, you cant go far wrong with this one, just wish someone would write a Rom for it. Hope this post helps anyone undecided about this particular dual sim Chinese fone.

Who in their right mind would buy a phone over about 5.5 in, any bigger and you look like a twat with it to tour ear
You know, I'd love the bigger screen, and those specs make it rival the Z Ultra. It's appearance also seems nice, though I've never heard of Hisense, so I have no clue about their build quality.
But... It's coming out in the Summer with those specs. What would roughly be a full year after the Z Ultra. By that point I'm hoping we either have or are hearing about (Depending on if we have a new chipset out that makes it worth the upgrade) a Z Ultra Refresh. Plus, the bezels on that thing look worse than the Z Ultra's- If people are complaining about those bezels now, this won't be drawing any support.
All that, and we haven't been told how big the screen is, which is arguably the sole draw of the Z Ultra.
Basically, unless it's hella cheap or is basically a nerd phone's dream (Something like 64GB internal storage AND an micro SD card slot) with a couple of other bells and whistles, I don't see this being a competition for the Z Ultra when it gets released.
Looked quite nice until I saw some of the images showing quite a gap between the plastic top (looks like aluminium) and the glass.
Then continuing to view the other images it looks like an old phone. Not that its worn, but that its dated. Like it should have been released last year.
Im still banking on the Z2 Ultra. Hoping it will have the issues ironed out. Namely the build, and components improved.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.
Hisense is just one of dump Chinese phone producers in China. Their phones have bad quality and services. The phone comes with Android 4.2, maybe you won't get update to 4.4 for rest of your life. Since the user group is small, there is rarely custom roms and do not even think of CM.
Who? Those that want screens bigger than 5.5 and are secure enough not to give a f**k what other people think when talking on them.

Wasn't aware of that if it's truly the Hisense product history.
The device will be released by Sliver in the US and with 4.4 according to reps at CES.
Hardest thing would be leaving this hardware...which is the classiest thing in the industry.
And I agree...banking on the Ultra2 can't be a bad strategy. Wonder about overall sales tho, given the small niche this size device serves, and if it'd prompt Sony to even release an Ultra2.

I really don't mind big phones that's why I bought the ultra. but if this phone do not offers nothing better then the ultra but a bigger screen.... no I don't think so. but if it offers good specs then i'll see.

Who's getting one and why?

Hey all
So anybody up for the Oppo R5? On the face of it, looks like a great little package. Octa-core processor backed up with 2 GB of RAM and a beautiful AMOLED display with a ppi of 423, all thrown into a package just 4.9mm thick! There are downsides, with only 16GB of memory and no SD card slot, storage could be a issue for some, as could the lack of a headphone socket!
So although not perfect, this sleek device does have some attraction, who's in?

The phone is so friggin thin it would be awesome, however the lack of a headphone jack and expandable storage is a deal breaker for me. I can see why there is no headphone jack as the phone itself is 4.9mm and the jack is 3.5mm. It is a neat phone but not very practical.
I love this phone and can't wait to get one. However I'm not sure how here in Texas. Will probably stick with my Oneplus One for daily use and the R5 for showing off....

It looks gorgeous.
No head phones and sd card a real problem though....

It looks wonderful and I am hoping it will be released before too long so I can get my order in.
The lack of storage is a slight disappointment, ideally I'd like to see an SD/TF slot as it is easier to get stuff off and on to the 'phone through my iMac, but I can live with that given how slim it is. I can also manage without the headphone slot, either using an adapter or bluetooth.
As I don't use my 'phone that much, just an hour or two a day at most, the battery life shouldn't be a problem for me either. I can generally go 3 days before charging my Huawei Ascend P6, which isn't known for it's stamina so I should manage at least 2 days with the R5.
Of course I'll need a case for it too...
I just get one I mean preordered on. Now it s aveiable in the EU with a bonus power bank ..
I pre-ordered mine yesterday too.
Looking forward to getting my hands on it.
According to the OppoStyle website, it comes with a case so that will save me trying to find something to house it in initially. I'll then have some time to locate something that suits my needs, assuming the 'free' one doesn't...
And it's arrived!
Beautiful device, wonderfully classy looks. Copying my music and pictures to it now...

I paid 399 Euros which worked out at 330 UK Pounds.
I got a free power bank which is VOOC compatible both for when it is being charged from the mains, and for when it is charging up a (VOOC compatible) 'phone, a European (two pin) VOOC charger which requires an adapter (not supplied) for UK 3 pin sockets. It also came with some headphones and Micro-USB to 3.5mm adapter as well as a clear plastic clip on back cover. (Not the 'leather' book style cover I was expecting)
att/straighttalk 3g
I got the 45 dollar plan from straighttalk.com which is using the gsm network of ATT . It works great, I also have the Nexus 6 and it has no signal from T-Mobile(sprint) at my house with NO wifi calling/txt when it said 100% of our new phones have it. I guess just not this new. I will wait, or maybe sell it. I really like the Oppo R5 more, because of its size, and because it gets actual cell reception(4barsH+). I still haven't gotten Gmail to work, Google Play services error, so if anyone knows, I would like to know. I read a msg from the phone itself that said it is compatible with most gs4 roms, so If I can figure that part out, I will be golden with lollipop. OK thanks.
From Singapore
I won the Oppo R5 at their roadshow. All I had to do is to smash walnuts with the phone.
The phone is really sleek. While there are no 3.5mm jack, the package includes the USB-to-audio adapter so you can plug your favourite earphones. The fast charging is awesome and helps to mitigate the small battery size.
I've written a review which you may check out here.

Replacing the P9000?

Hello,
so I need to ask: is there any good replacement for the P9000 at the moment? No one should know better than people on this forum I think
I was never that disappointed about the phone, sure GPS can be useless sometimes and the camera is not that great but that's not always the case and the rest is working fine.
It seems to me that there is no similar phone with the same specs at least in the same or similar price range (up to 400 €).
The reason why I'm asking is the issue that the P9000 is not able to dial emergency numbers with an SD card in use. It just ends the calls.
So when you need it the most it is of no help by not being able to perform the most simple task for a mobile phone.
I still like the phone. It has the right size (don't want a smaller - can't have a bigger one) and weight with great features (LTE bands, USB-C fast charge / Qi, NFT etc.).
Looking for alternatives there were always missing features or not the most trustworthy brands - just like Elephone lol.
For my own safety I will need a new phone soon if there is no other solution. So what's on the market right now that I should look for?

Like you, I moved from the P9000 too, similar reasons, great little phone with too many niggles - give to my son in the end and he dont mind it, he likes fiddling with rooting, custom roms n alike
I bought my mates 6 month old OnePlus 3T, (which I realize is a bit of a price jump if you bought new) which again I will give my son when my upgrade is due in around 3 months. (altho this is a great buy for the price I think atm brand new, after all its only kinda 7 months since it was released)
The problem is (or probably a bonus) there are so many "mid range" phones out there and dependent whether you looking at Chinese brands or more mainstream. If Chinese, maybe look at the Xiaomi mid-range, they seem to get pretty good reviews generally. Thing with Chinese brands some are rubbish and some really great (like Meizu, Huawei etc) and pretty hard to choose which to go for.
Although my next upgrade will be more kinda mainstream (prob Samsung, Huawei or maybe new OP5) I usually note down what I'm after on the smart phone and then check whats available at the price point I'm working on, then I usually check as many unbiased reviews I can and also scan the XDA user forums to see what actual user feedback is like.
Thanks,
I would have nothing against going mainstream with a phone.
The Oneplus 3T seems to be nice but is limited to 64GB and is a little bit too pricy, also no wireless charging.
A little research got me to the Aquarius X Pro. Also no wireless charging (I could live with) and has a smaller screen but overall it is bigger in size and heavier than the
Elephone!
Seems like the P9000 is a rare species with no evolution. Great size for a 5.5"
The Aquarius X Pro looks a nice looking phone, nice price too. btw, I know Geekbuying have a kinda flash 75 hour sale (got email this morning with few mobiles listed) maybe check em out
I was also starting to look around, still unsure. I like the look of the Huawei Mate 9 but the overall size puts me off a little ( I done have large hands) so it will look stupidly large when I good it.
just an edit
BTW I dropped my P9000 and it is now useless what a coincidence.
I log into Amazon and see, that I bought this phone exactly on the 26th of June. And that is the day I broke the screen in half

I wouldn't hesitate a second and buy another one for now 200€. But the dialer thing is a no go and GPS reception often depends on luck.
I'm thinking about Honor 8 now but the glass backside is made for a disaster and I don't know about the EMUI thing.
The BQ seems to be too new to get a price drop. Bad luck with my timing I think
The two features of the P9000 that you will find hard to match are wireless charging and overall size. I haven't come across another reasonably priced 5.5" phone that's as small overall as the P9000 and wireless charging is rare in budget phones. But if these features aren't too important to you then there a dozens of phones to chose from.
A good place to start is kimovil.com - you can select the features that you want and get a list of available devices and prices.
I just bought a Redmi 4X for my son - only 5" and 720p, but an absolute bargain at $125 (now).

Yes, I can live without wireless charging although I got all the hardware and new cars are coming out with this function so I don't see why they can't implement that into more phones.
Size is a bigger problem. Seems like I have to go with 5.2 or less to match the overall size of the P9000. Too bad Elephone is a ****ty company that doesn't seem to care about a phone once it is released.

I just switched from P9000 to Redmi Note 4, WITH LTE Band 20, this week. Main reason: small Screen crack. So far everything fine, I just miss wireless charging.
Good luck, Redmi should be a good choice.
I am going to get a BQ phone, giving a non-chinese brand a shot.

People that are out all day and evening but also want to use their phone normally. You might go to work, head out that evening, have a few drinks, crash at a friends and go direct to work. They have their uses, people that go camping also get good use from them as well as battery packs.
I have the one for the 3/t. It's huge but it's useful for long flights. The fact it works as a power bank was also useful to charge my buddy's phone too.

And please, try to sell using Ebay, amazon can't delivery to Brazil anymore e_e.

Okay got it today. Here are as many angles as I could think of that would be helpful and I compared the size with a nexus 4 and an iPhone 5s. I've tried 3 different headphones and all connected without any problems (the slot is huge). However, i wouldn't use one with an L shaped connection. It was very difficult to remove. Straight ones were no problem. The speaker grills are kind of nice. Holding the phone in landscape doesn't block the sound this way. Although I'm not sure how long you could hold it. It's heavy as hell! I can't comment on battery life of course anytime soon, but if there's any other questions let me know.

Well give it like a week trail , and see how it goes, if it works out well for you , though i'm wondering if it gets warm , etc if it's in your pocket while giving it charging power and so on. There has to be some kind of that going on to keep it up to 100%, otherwise if it works out well for you, i will buy it as well.

Moto Z vs Moto Z2 play?

Is it worth it?
I have Moto Z for 6 monts or more and I like it but yesterday I saw an discount in MediaMarkt in Germany (I'll be here for 2 more weeks),300€ for Moto Z2 Play 64gb Dual + JBL SoundBoost 2.
What do you think guys?

The Z2 Play has a lower resolution screen, a weaker CPU and a thicker body.
However, it has the newer design which looks great and a bigger battery.
But when you consider that the JBL mod costs ridiculous 100€, the Z2 Play sounds great at 200€. You can get it as a Christmas present for someone and keep the JBL mod.
The Moto Z clocks down because of too much heat, so the weaker cpu of the Z2 play could be an improvement compared to the heat of the Moto Z.

You should try using older flagships, those get hot. Anything with a Snapdragon 820 or above should not heat up even to a level before being uncomfortable.
I got the phone in Summer and even then did it not heat up(unlike previous phones). It only got warm, still colder than body temperature(36.6°C). Not to mention that I use the overclocked kernel by default.

Did you ever touched the back while using youtube for more than 10 minutes?
I don't mean the cover mod or any moto mod.
It does get hot and if it gets hot, it throttles the cpu.
In recovery while backing up the phone gets also pretty warm but there is a temperature barrier.
I think that if some temperature is reached, the kernel clocks the cpu down to not overheat.

Yeah, I did. I use it for VR as well until the whole battery depletes. And again, it gets warm, not hot.

I have a Dbrand skin and a rugged case(which should actually increase the heat potential).
It does get hot and if it gets hot, it throttles the cpu.

It does not get hot but if it miraculously does, yeah, it will throttle just like any other phone or a PC CPU/GPU.

You seem to be calling warm temperatures hot for some reason, but that's your thing. Again, try ravaging a flagship or a midranger from 2015. Those things get hot and not warm.

You don't need to think about this, it's a fact within almost all processing technology. Thanks to smaller architectures one gets CPUs or GPUs which use less power, produce less heat(are more efficient) and provide better performance. With SD820 onwards flagship smartphones are actual flagship smartphones.
I have a Moto Z and a Moto Z2 Play. To me, there is no question. I'd go with the Z2 Play. The gesture fingerprint reader is a good enough feature to justify the switch. It is hard to go back to a device with on-screen buttons once you get used to it.
Also, battery life is better, screen is good enough at FHD, and the thickness is just right. I've had absolutely zero issue with the Z2 Play, whereas I do occasionally have heat related issues with the Z.
Hope that helps.
The Z battery is very bad, very very bad i must say.
What about the cameras, does either phone have a significantly better camera?
I just got the Moto Z new and I love now I want the Z2 Force, But I just can't see the z2play being faster then the Moto Z but how is the camera on it
Well,I couldn't buy that Moto Z2 Play,it was only for Germans...
But I have a new question:
OnePlus 5T 64GB,one month old with 2 years guarantee for 400€ (around 490$)...
Is it worth?
Yes it is, the OnePlus 5T is a beast of a phone. One month ofusage is not enough to wear any component, and even though you have 2 years of warranty.
