#1 thing wrong here:
XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do the research, read through the development threads and decide what is BEST for them. The only results that would be posted here are what each member has found to be BEST for them by experimentation based on their phone/usage/setup/apps/signal strength. Please take the time to read through those development threads to learn all about the software you are about to drastically alter your very expensive device with.
#2 thing wrong here;
This is the General section all Questions and request for assistance belong in the Q&A section.
Please familiarize yourself with the XDA rules located at the very top of every forum section.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your future cooperation.

If you have a look in Xperia General, you'll find a whole lot of stuff...
There's two rules to the forum. The first rule of the forum is Use Search Before Posting. The second rule of the forum is Use Search Before Posting.

Hi Chris, just a heads up mate - a better place to ask questions is in the X10 Q and A sub-forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=745) or in the x10 General sub-forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=615). This sub-forum (Development) is for the clever guys that are attempting to hack/mod/change the way our phones work for the better - we have to try not to clutter it up with general stuff.
To answer your questions, rooting means that you gain the ability to have root access. in unix/linux terms - this is a god-like user that can do anything. normally the user is limited as to what they can do but with root you can edit system files, delete protected files, anything you want. as i can see from your first post, you already have 2.1 installed so you will need to use the SuperOneClick root method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824788)
Good luck, and remember - dev forum is for devs only

Another rule is don't start threads about threads to ask about things already answered in the thread you've already read.

Why Was My Post Deleted?

In the interest of keeping the Development Forum as clean as possible, a new rule is in order.
Understand, the Development Forum is for DEVELOPMENT ONLY. It is NOT for posting general issues you have.
If you have a problem with a ROM that is hosted here, by all means, post the issue in the ROM thread. DO NOT CREATE A NEW THREAD.
If you have a problem with hacked software that is hosted here, by all means Post it in the appropriate thread. DO NOT CREATE A NEW THREAD.
If you have new hacking apps, by all means post them here.
However, Any more posting of new threads, that are not related to development, and should belong in the Q&A or General Forum, will be DELETED. And that's that. They will no longer be moved to the correct forum. But "Hasta La Vista".
Zero Tolerance.
Read the rules and guidelines people.

What rom what kernel best kernel posts are against the rules .
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.

any ROM

Seeking a good ROM for my htc Dna
since I found you lot lagean and locks.
sorry, but this isn't the htc section please, move the the thread in the correct section...
Yes this is in the device section and the wrong subforum (question should be posted in Q&A) and we also do not allow best ROM/Kernel threads on XDA. The question is subjective and you should therefore make u your own mind. Best advice is to head over to the development section and try some out.

PiP NOT working on Samsung OneUI 5 Work Profile apps

I'm using Nova Launcher Beta v8.0.3.
I installed YouTube and VLC apps in the Work Profile on my Samsung and iQOO phones.
While PiP works fine for the app installed in the main profile, the same doesn't work for these apps installed in Work Profile on my Samsung phone. They work fine on my iQOO phone. Both phones are running on Android 13 and the app versions are the same on both.
NewPipe installed in the Work Profile, however, runs in PiP mode on my Samsung phone too.
This appears to be some permission issue on OneUI. Does anyone know which permissions require this feature to work?
'Appear on Top' and 'Picture in Picture' are both enabled for these apps.
I think this is a problem with Samsung OneUI, and nothing to do with Nova Launcher. There are posts on the internet on PiP not working for apps in Secure Folder, and I have this problem too. So this is likely the same reason for apps in Work Profile too.
Can a mod please move this thread to a more appropriate forum? Ideally, Samsung One UI 5 or Samsung Galaxy would be more appropriate.

Can you please move this thread?
Thanks.

I can't find a forum for Samsung OneUI.
Although there are forums for devices such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra and others, as well as forums for OneUI Beta which is essentially a forum for ROMs, moving this post to those forums won't be appropriate.
Can you create a new forum for Samsung OneUI, so users can make posts related to Samsung OS? This post is a problem specific to OneUI, and a forum like that would be the best place for posts like this one.
Thank you.

Thank you for clarifying.
Android Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting would probably be the best forum for this post for now.
I will make a request for a new forum called 'Samsung OneUI Problems and Solutions' in the link you mentioned. Thank you.
