[Q] Native SIP-Client with FRITZ!Box-Router - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm having some trouble getting the native Android SIP client to run with the builtin SIP server of my FRITZ!Box router. The native client works great with my Sipgate-Account, however it doesn't want to stay connected to my router. I've made a Wireshark trace which looks like this:

}
Sipgate account: REGISTER -> 401 -> REGISTER with user/pw -> 200 -> OPTIONS -> 200
FRITZ!Box account: REGISTER -> 401 -> REGISTER with user/pw -> 200 -> OPTIONS -> 401
The FRITZ!Box account works with other soft phones like PhonerLite.

I know this is an old thread, but did you manage to get things to work in the meantime?
I've just started trying the SIP functionality of my FRITZ!Box router with CM 12.1, so native Android SIP stack. I can get registration to work and phones to ring, but the moment I pick up (incoming through FritzBox) or the callee picks up (outgoing through FritzBox), the connection is broken. Perhaps your experience can halp me diagnose my issue.

Not "OpenVPN" but I have set up the SSHTunnel (app found in the market) to work with my Linksys WRT54g running DD-WRT firmware (v24sp3). I think it does the same thing... I can use a public network, "tunnel" into my router and in theory use my ISP that my router is hooked up to. When I check with "whatsmyip.org" it gives me my ip of my ISP at home from where ever I am...
Can you give me more details about the setup and configuration? Thanks!
I wish I can, but I did it through a lot of trail and error, I am not 100 percent sure of the exact steps I did to get it connected. The principle is to use the sshtunnel app to tunnel into a secure server. My router which has been modded with a different firmware acts as that server. If you don't have a router that can do that, then you can set up your pc as a ssh server. There are some free/open applications out there, but I have not played with them... also I used a dynamic dns to keep my router ip up to date. apparently the isp's change the ip address every so often.
I did a lot of googling and trail and error. You may have a different setup then I do... the sshtunnel is pretty simple. Its the setup of the server that may be difficult...
I believe this where I should set it up right? or maybe not.hehe

Idk... looks like your on the "port forwarding" page... Not sure if that is the same thing or it might be but not "secure"???
This is where I got my info on the router. Remember my router is a Linksys WRT54g with the modified firmware (dd-wrtv24sp3) loaded into it. I am not sure if it is available for your router???
www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Easy_SSH_tunnels
And the app from the market was just filing in the blanks with the info also provided by the wiki page.

[Q] OpenVPN + Android ( yes another one )

Hello all,
I have a problem with VPN.
Last year i was running a stock version of android 2.2 on my Desire HD and it was rooted. I installed OpenVPN following this guide and everything works ok:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848939.
Since a few months im using custom roms but i can't get OpenVPN to work in the custom roms. If i restore the nandroid to my original stock firmware it works again.
Im using the same config files on all the different roms i used. Here is an overview of the VPN that works:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see beneath the VPN says it's connected to my home IP.
Everything works. My phone is using my home IP adress.
Different app:
Terminal overview:
I can browse the internet with my home IP and i can access everything that's running at home.
However like i said, i can't get it to work with a custom rom. For this example i used ARHD 7.0.4 and the same config files. OpenVPN says its connected to my home ip adress just like picture 4.
Some apps give me my home IP adress but other apps and the website whatsmyipadress show the ISP provider ip. I can't acces my network.
The following app gives me the IP of my ISP provider:
The MYIP app shows me my home IP adress:
Copymyip also shows my home IP:
Terminal overview:
I don't browse the internet with my home IP and i cant access my network.
Does anyone know what's going wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Henk

This is the 3rd i9300 where I am setting up corporate email, it went very well on the first 2, on the 3rd one, no way, I get the following warnings.
I did the following steps:
1. Removed the ActiveSync account from the phone
2. Access Baha's Exchange 2010 mailbox via OWA then click on 'Options->See All Options->Phone->highlight the Samsung entry then press the X to delete the association.
3. Launch the Outlook application that is configured to synchronize with the mailbox by clicking on Start->Run then typing the following and press Enter (note: Outlook's AutoComplete offers suggested email addresses to use from previous correspondences - this is what will be cleared):
outlook.exe /CleanAutoCompleteCache
and although I don't get anymore the security update warning, I am getting "connection error" and "error connecting to server"
It is a brand new handset, not rooted

[Q] Razr Maxx - Mobile HotSpot (stock) - 4.0.4 ICS (stock, but rooted) - NO CONNECT

My Razr MAXX is running stock Verizon OTA 4.0.4 (.211) ICS. It is rooted. I have used SQLite Editor to modify Settings Storage (the one with the hammer and wrench) to modify the Settings.db, settings table and have changed the value for entitlement_check from 1 to 0 (and rebooted and checked the same file again to make sure that the change was written successfully to the table, which it was). I can start up Mobile HotSpot without any errors and without being asked to signup for a $30.00/month plan with Verizon, so we know that the entitlement_check hack has done its magic. Mobile Hotspot seems to run without any trouble.
My Windows 7 Pro (64bit) notebook sees the SSID created by my phone, and will attempt to connect to it, but when I do, I get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The problem is with my notebook, because my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet (Android) will connect to the wifi created by the Mobile HotSpot without any errors or problems.
I realize that this is an Android forum and not a Windows forum, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
The samething used to happen to me when I was on gingerbread. I used to change the password of the wpa2 key and sometimes turn hotspot off then on again and it would work. I still have the entitlement check at zero now that I'm on ics but I haven't tried the hotspot to connect to another computer yet. Ill give it a try and let you know if I get the same problem.

How to enable Bluetooth contact sharing for car head unit?

Many android (I tried Pixel and One Plus) phones support contact sharing for connected bluetooth head units
this is controlled in the bluetooth connection preference for the device:

How ever, this feature is missing in Samsung S21 (and a few other Samsung phones I tried) - when connecting to the same head unit
Is there a way to enable contact sharing in Samsung S21?
Under the developer options menu there are some entires that relate to PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) so I assume it is supported.

On my car, 2014 Kia Optima, I was asked if I want to download phone's contacts' numbers as soon as paired my G21 phone with my car.
hi mate,
I'm struggling here too. When first I was connecting to my car i recieved popup about contacts so i approved. During second connection my car asked again for contacts and since then every time i need to approve it. FML. Is there any chance to permanently grant contacts permissions to specific device?
