[Q] Unbricking LGOG E970 - help needed - AT&T LG Optimus G

Hi Guys, greetings from India!
I have a E970 which I unfortunately bricked ( in what seems to be a hard brick) during flashing an updated ROM. The phone screen now does not turn on at all, though when I connect it to my computer the power button led flickers on and off, and the PC responds as if a removable device is getting attached to it and being removed in quick succession.
In Device Manager I can see that the phone gets recognized as QHUSB_DLOAD.
When I tried to run the unbrick process via LGNPST, the phone name flashes along with the COM port name in the software, then disappears, and then comes back again. Moreover, the process errors out at 85% but pressing the power button does nothing.
Since the screen does not turn on, I am not sure whether my phone goes into a download mode or not.
So - is the phone recoverable at all or is it all over? Please help.
Thank you.

If device mgr is seeing the phone as qhusb, you done did bricked your phone. You need to jtag it to fix it. Your best bet would be to look into this... http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/lg-optimus-g-jtag-brick-repair/

[Q] Broken power key, how to turn it on?!

Hi,
So, I somehow manage to break the button key (it's dead, I also opened the device and there is nothing to fix this), and the device is off, and I'm looking for a way to turn it on without the power key.
I tried to insert the battery while the phone is plugged but it won't help. I also tried to start it from the ADB but for some reason the computer don't read the phone (even in download mode).
What I think might help is to install any rom/kernel that turn on when the phone is plugged to the charger, if you know one that can be installed through the ODIN it might be helpfull.
Any other solution that will work will be good
Thanks

[Q] Bricked phone - Boot loop - Recovery & Download mode not working [HELP]

Hello guys,
I've got a big problem with my I9300 and therefore I would like to ask here for any help. (If I'm in the wrong section, please move the thread to a correct one)
I had installed the Resurrection Remix ROM, v5.2.6. from 30.12.2014 and Googy-Max 2 recovery (CWM based) on my phone. I was using it for days and all worked fine.
One day I turned the phone off and I wanted to restart it. But it never restarted again; it ends up in a boot loop. It shows me the white Samsung Boot-Logo for some seconds, then a total black screen and the same thing repeats in a loop.
So I wanted to get into the recovery for wiping etc. but I couldn’t access the recovery. Nothing happens by pressing the relevant buttons. The device is still hanging in the boot loop. So I wanted to flash via Odin, but this isn't possible. I also can't go into the download mode. After pressing the relevant buttons, the green warning screen appears, which asks me if I really want to go to the download mode. But when I press volume up for "continue" or even if I don't press anything, the phone turns off and the boot loop with the white Samsung Logo starts again.
Therefore I ordered a USB JIG for forcing the device to go into download mode. When I plug the USB JIG in, the device actually goes into download mode but this status holds on only for a few seconds. After accessing download mode through the JIG, after a few seconds the phone turns off, restarts, (and because the JIG is still plugged in) the download mode appears again and it ends in a loop.
At first I thought maybe the power button is sticking and therefore the device turns on and off autonomous. But definitively I can negate it, because I opened the phone and removed the power button and nothing changed. Also by pressing the power button on the mainboard I can clearly hear the "click".
So I started a new attempt. Although the time, in which the device stays in download mode before turning off, is very short (only a few seconds), I tried flashing an other recovery, namely TWRP v2.8.3.0. So I prepared ODIN, plugged the JIG into the device, by appearing the download mode I switched cables and an other person clicked start at ODIN and it worked. So now TWRP is installed. Now I also can't get into recovery but after flashing TWRP there exist two little differences. First, after pressing the relevant buttons, TWRP appears for less than 1 second until the phone turns off. Secondly, when I plug the device in for charging, the Samsung charging logo appears for some seconds, then for less than 1 second appears a charging logo from Lollipop and the device ends up in a loop by displaying alternately the two different charging logos. Before flashing TWRP, the device booted in a boot loop (as I wrote above) by plugging it in for charging.
So the main question: how can I get my device work again
I tried telling you all details so that you have a better view of the problem.
Maybe I should flash a fully (stock) rom, but as I told you the download mode appears only for a few seconds. Flashing a recovery was possible, because the recovery file is very small - 7 MB. A full rom is much bigger and I think by flashing a complete rom, the device would turn off while Odin is flashing, therefore I ask first here for any assistance.
Thank you very much in advance!

Check and make sure that your volume buttons and home button are not stuck also. If they are not, I would suggest a visit to a repair shop as your EMMC chip might be weak already.

Your power button is failing, stuck in 'pressed' position. Try pressing repeatedly power button for several seconds, then release it completely. It shall bring it back to life. Visit your local service, or prepare tin, heat gun and soldering pistol. One button cost $0.2, they are selling them on eBay in sets of three (and 10, and 100....).
Happened to me some time ago, and video on youtube helped me to dismantle my phone, pull broken button out of it, and change it for new.
My phone was cycling like yours.

As said your emmc chip maybe failing.
The dead boot thread maybe of interest to you.

Thank you very much for helping! :good:
So the question is, whether it's the power button's or emmc's fault...
I did a little searching and found this video. I've got exactly the same problem like the guy. At 1:06 following the boot loop, at 1:34 following the problem with downlod mode.
Although he thinks it's caused to the sudden death problem, but at least in my case I think it's wrong because months ago I did the eMMC Brickbug Check.
Also I noticed a probably important detail. When I put the battery in the phone, it automatically turns on without pressing the power button like in 1:04-1:09 in the video. Which normal working phone turns itself on by simply putting in the battery...?
So it must get a command for turning on - (possibly through a defect power button?)
@Virnik0, do you remember, if you could hear the micro-switch clicking on your phone before replacing the button on the mainboard?

Your power button is faulty, replace it before you try fixing anything else.
Thank you very, very much for helping! :good: :good: :good:
Truly the power button was fault although you could hear clearly the "click".
I unsoldered and removed the power module and (by startig with JIG and rebooting via ADB) the phone works as it should. :victory:
Now I'm trying to solder a new power button......it's a bit tricky
Again, thank you very much guys!
I had the same problem, pressed the button many times, and it helped. Thank you for your suggestions

[Q] Samsung S3 not responding at all!

I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300! While i was sleeping, i was charging my phone and when i woke up the phone was stuck at the initial logo screen of samsung! Then, i tried to press the home bottom power and volume up bottom to reset while it was doing that it went back again to the logo screen before being able to choose wipe cache and stuff! I tried it several times! Then as i was searching through net i saw that odin thing custom Rom and i thought that maybe i should give it a try! So i tried to installed it by connecting my phone to the laptop but my pc did not identify my phone! Then I tried again by connecting and disconnecting the pc with my phone and while doing so i pushed the button of Repartition at Odin. My phone was not identified so i have no idea if that happened! Now my phone does not even open, or charging! Please tell me if there is a way to make it work again!
It might be of some help to mention that my charger is a new one that i bought from bol.com and its not the original one! I have no idea if that affected somehow the mobile functioning.
No, you are unlikely to fix that. You can try a usb jig, see if download mode will start, but it sounds like partial SDS followed by user panic until it was hard bricked.
If it didnt show in odin you have a driver issue and the repartition wouldn't have happened.
Remove battery, sd and sim. Make sure the battery is charged.
Insert battery and hold home+vol down while pressing power once.
If the screen lights up do not let go of home+vol down until it has entered download mode. If the phone wont light up at this point you have a bigger problem.
Once in download mode install the samsung mobile device drivers on your pc, you might need to try different versions, and plug the phone into the pc's usb on the motherboard. Try to avoid using front mounted or shared ports as they are unreliable. If your phone doesnt interact with your pc try other drivers.

[Q] Is this recoverable?

So after playing around with some ROMs, flashes and stuff, I managed to brick my LG Optimus G e970. The phone turns on, but nothing shows on the screen, not even if I try recovery mode. I can prove it turns on because when I plug it in to my computer, it responds to the turning on and off of my phone (checking drivers etc.), but I can't see it in My Computer. It seems the only way I can turn it off is by unplugging the battery. Does this sound like something that could be potentially fixed, or is my phone riparoni? Im going on a trip soon, so I may not be able to try out/reply to answers. Just thought I'd ask and see what pops up. Thanks in advance.

Can you get the phone to boot into download mode? This is accomplished by the by switching the phone off, holding both the up and down volume buttons at the same time and lastly inserting the USB cable into your computer. If you can get there then you should be able to return the phone to stock by using a program called LGNPST. Links to both the stock ROM, and instructions for how to use LGNPST can be found in this forum or you can simply Google it. After restoring to stock you can once again begin the process of rooting and unlocking the boot loader of your phone to install custom ROMs, or you can just stay with the stock AT&T Jellybean ROM if you want.
Your golden same thing happened to me.
Hold the power button for a long time until your 110% sure it's off.
Hold VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP and POWER until you see download mode.
Download LGNPST and if you need help finding the proper stock .bin to flash I can help. It's super easy process.

Bricked CAT S50 after general instability

Hello and thank you for anyone bothering to read this.
I got a CAT S50 and was experiencing a bit of instability lately.
I've run LTE_S0201121.0_S50_0.023.00 without a hitch for a while, then it decided to crash several applications, from google play to any other app open.
That's when I decided to do a factory reset and see if it would help. Performed the rest without a hitch, but the errors kept coming back. At one point, the screen went black. I knew the phone was on because the backlit was working. I hard-reseted it (hold the power button for 30 seconds or more) and rebooted. The phone froze on the CAT splash logo screen and that's when I hard-reset it again. But when I tried to turn it on, the phone simply refused to work. No vibrate, sounds or anything. It's dead.
When I plug it on the computer's USB, the PC makes a sound as if it detected the device, but when I go to the device manager, I get this QHSUSB_BULK with the yellow exclamation mark
I want to know if it is possible to unbrick this phone and if so, if there is a tutorial or if someone can direct me to the correct procedure. I looked everywhere for the ftf file for this phone to attempt this with flashtool, but I simply can't find it.
ANY help of any form is greatly appreciated.
Sadly I had the same thing happen to me, just a black screen. It decided to delete recovery mode or I just cant get to it.
Power Off the Phone,
While pressing Press Vol Down + Cam Button insert a Powersource -- hold down Vol Down + Cam
Recoverymenu should start
Then flash the original rom via ADB Sideload or SD Card.
btw. i have flashed the LTE_S0201121.0_S50_0.023.00 but i want test older ROMs!
can anyone link or upload an older ROM ?
Guy i have the same issue, can you please help me
I got the same problem I search lots place but still nothing then normal update rom anyone can help?
