FAQs
FAQs
1.)What Is My Main Moto Behind Making This Thread ??
A. I saw so many people ask their questiotns in development thread which are not related to any development so I decided to make a whole new thread for this , so people can ask their questions here related to this ROM.
2.)Is this a Stable Rom?
A.Yes, At this stage this a Stable Rom.
3.)What about battery life?
A. Amm.. Battery life is Average since we have no kernal for JB Roms, So I've used a CM kernal,Now we can't judge battery life at all because it's all depends on yours , how you use it, for what you use, heavy or light?, so try it once and then decide wheather it's stuitable for you or not?.
4.)Is this Ported Xperia Rom?
A.No. This Rom has Themed as Xperia and I've Tried my level best to give more feel like Xperia Z Ultra.
This Rom is ported from CM and I've used AOKP as base for this.
5.)How to download this Rom?
A.You can Download it from OT in development section.
Link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45104190#post45104190
6.)How to Install?
A.It's easy.
1.)Download The Rom.
2.)Put it on your Sd or internal Sdcard
3.)go to Recovery (I'll recomand 4ext)
4.)Install From SDCard
5.)Select and Flash
7.)What is Working And What is not?
A.It's All given in the OT and if you found anything else then report me..here.

Hey shubham,
I like your work and going to love your Rom..
It's really appreciable.. Keep on this nice work man..

Oh nice quick response.. I appreciate you on this.. Thankx in advance... Waiting for the link...

Got my T-Mobile HTC Amaze 4G yesterday. Followed the instructions to unlock the bootloader, and installed the custom recovery (CWM) and put the ROM on my 8GB microSD card. Installed through Aroma Installer. Rebooted, it just hangs at the white HTC bootup screen. I didn't have to install Superuser on the original stock ROM, right?
Update 1: Did another attempt. Wiped dalvik, wiped factory/reset, and reinstalled with fewer apps in the Aroma installer. It does the same thing, hangs at the white HTC boot screen.
Update 2: Tried with PACMAN ROM, same behavior. Guess it's not your ROM.
Update 3: Figured that the CWM I had from early 2012 was too old for flashing today's ROMs, I went ahead and replaced it with TWRP 2.6 for the Ruby. Tried installing your ROM and PACMAN ROM. Same thing. :\ Is 4EXT required?
Update 4: Thank god for this. It works good now.

If s-on you need to use 4ext recovery or you won't be able to flash the protected partitions. You'll end up with a ROM, but no kernel

His problem is because he's still s-on and the kernel isn't flashing with his chosen recovery. He needs to switch to the latest 4EXT and make sure smart flash is enabled. Once he's done that he'll be good to go.

Yeah right... The problem was recovery bcoz his problem solved after flashing another recovery... I didn't think about S-ON... I told him to do that bcoz there was the same problem with another member he was not wiping the cache after flashing the rom and was getting bootloop.. So i thought this is the same condition...

Hmm...because he has branded amaze so need to worry more about security features.
But after all I'll recommend him to be s-off for to be safe.
That's my advice

That makes sense. Still, I feel dumb because I used to have an HTC EVO 3D and I did the same thing on it, I should've known better that the Amaze required the same treatment.

Your question is but natural.
Actually what happened ,
Here my 3rd exams of this sem is going to held from 19th...so I'm not gettin time to upload a whole Rom of 517 MB on my server ...so I asked Afnan that if he has a copy of my Rom on his pc then he upload on his server for what you like people can download it ....because I got requests from many people same as you.
So he will host my Rom on his sever only for few days...
I think you got your answer now ??right??

Thanks for uploading this. I have a question for you though. I installed this and everything went well but my flashlight app is gone, and I can't get my camera to open. Can you tell me what I did wrong? I appreciate any help. Thanks.
Thanks for all your efforts
Thanks once again for your efforts. AS suggested by you before, I am on 1.29 with bullet proof kernel.
Is this 1.27 worth effort going back for better audio during calls? I am getting wobbling voice during on call with speaker.
And also when i clicked stock kernel to download it says Nocturnal M7 stock. so is it not stock HTC/Tmobile kernel?
Thanks in advance

Should I just flash this instead of that TWRP backup you gave me in order to get my phone back to stock? Or will I be left with the same issues?
Hi,
Wondering if we need a corresponding firmware.zip for 1.27.531.x if we want to truly get back to stock after the 2.24.x update comes out for us on T-mobile?
I was thinking once the 2.24.x update hits us we're going to get a firmware update that could prevent us from getting back to stock 1.27.531.x for warranty purposes. Or if you just don't like 4.2.2 and you like 4.1.2 better.
I know we can flash the stock nandroid backup, but I'm thinking that stock nandroid based on 1.27.531.x won't work on a 2.24 firmware and updated hboot?
Or am I completely off and that nandroid would restore an updated firmware and hboot back to to 1.27.531.x?
(Man, really showing my noobish behavior today!)

Since we don't have an RUU from T-Mobile, do you have or recommend a 4.1.2 firmware for T-mobile users to go back to that would work with your stock 1.27.531.x roms?

[RECOVERY/MOD] [SCH-I545] AROMA Recovery Installer V0.1 (08.08.2013)

This MOD is only for SCH-I545 User!!
XDA and me are not responsible of any device bricks or something, flash it at your own risk!!

So after some user asking for porting my AROMA Recovery Installer from GT-I9505 for SCH-I545, i decided to give it a shot. With AROMA Recovery Installer you can install custom recoveries of your choice through the AROMA. Its maybe interessting for people that changes there recoveries more often as there underwear.
Hope you like it.
Attention!!
Ive heard that verizon users must flash Loki patched Recoveries, so beware what recovery you flash. The both variants of ClockworkMOD are non loki patched!!

Flash through CWM / TWRP
You place the zip on the internal memory or external SD card.
- To boot into recovery, hold volume down when you restart
- Go to "install zip from sd card", depending on the type of recovery (CWM)
-> Or just install (in TWRP)
- look for the folder where you have placed the zip
- And flashes this now by clicking on yes in CMW or slide to the right with TWRP.
- Then reboot and kernel you got it.

Its a recovery flasher. Doesnt make a lot of sense in my opinion because you initially have to have a custom recovery installed in order to utilize it. Still neat none the less, itll make it easier for the people that want to switch from one recovery to the next. I think I will spell it out now for people that will ask, you cant restore a backup on twrp that was created in cwm.

Guys sorry, these are official CWMs. Im not confirm with Loki Patch. Is this necesssary for your device? It seems only PhilZ and TWRP2.5.0.2 are Loki patched, maybe TWRP2.6.0.0 too, dont know atm. When these patch are needed, ill first take the file down and see what i can do. I dont want to risk your device.
It's not a risk, always recoverable with a recovery Odin package. But will someone know that or are they just going to A) go crazy or B) Odin back to full stock for no good reason.
When a big yellow triangle pops up on a newb's screen telling them that they need to go to Verizon.... That equals going to go crazy panicking, and going to hate you.
All of our recoveries need to be Loki patched prior to install. Or Loki flashed in place.

Well ok i understand. All vzw devices needs the Loki patched recoveries. So you are knowing if twrp2.6.0.0 is patched too? Ive read something in the thread and saw that 2.5.0.2 is patched. But im not sure if its patched when i download it from goo.
And the Loki patched CWMs are the one from OUDHS Recoveries? Sorry for all the questions, but i dont own this device, and will never own a Verizon device. I only do this one here cause TMYINC ask me if i can do this for this device.
Wow glad I didn't install the touch cwm

TWRP 2.5.02 and 2.6.0.0 is Loki patched along with OUDHS. Phil is also Loki patched. I will check for Loki patched CWM recoveries when I get home and link them to the OP. I'm sorry for all the confusion hanspampel. I thank you again very much for bringing this to our devices and I will do my best to help out. Also sorry to everyone else if I've created more confusion. I just like options and this seemed useful to us.

pretty simple to loki patch a recovery
./loki_patch recovery aboot.img cwmtouch.img cwmtouch.lok
cwmtouch name is an example u need to use the actual image filename
download loki master from djrbliss's github and it provides all the tools needed to do this succesfully
. This is what I get for jumping on this so soon without thinking first. Used this last night to flash regular CWM and was greeted by the triangle of love. Oh well. Odin and reroot. No biggie. Restored a backup of Eclipse GE 1.5 and all was good until I used ROM manager to flash cwm. Forgot that 1.5 identifies itself as the actual GE phone. Triangle of loveonce again! Grrrrr. Oh well. I do love the idea of this tool and will definitely use it when the included recoveries are Loki patched. Big thanks for this! I have no shame in admitting that most of my phone's issues are self inflicted but that's how I learn...by fixing .
OK thanks for the help, illl look into it. Maybe i get the CWMs patched. For right now i gave a hint in the OP. Ive found out which recoveries are patched. So read the OP again. If i had time, ill reupload this or next Version with only Loki patched recoveries.

Not a problem at all! Easily fixed. Thank you for even making this
If people read the original post they would seen which ones were loki patched.
This was an easy way for me to go back to twrp 2.5.0.2. It worked better for me than 2.6.0.0.

Having trouble flashing

I keep getting installation aborted when trying to flash a new ROM on my cousin's phone. Even when I flashed that I couldn't flash anything else that's the only one that worked no biggie I got a custom one in there figured I had bad downloads. Yesterday I tried flashing AOKP, CM10.1, Avatar 4.3, and AOKP 4.3 and nothing they all had installation aborted. I could post a pic I took with my S4 but it won't let me attach it it just waits for a response. I have done this several times with my S4, Atrix 2, Thrill, and Inspire so I have rooted and flashed different phones not new to this but never seen this happen before. I would search but I'm on my phone and searching sucks with this for some reason. Thanks in advance

my guess is Shayne, he may be downloading from phone, but using the wrong browser. therefore getting the abortion
Update your recovery to TWRP 2.6.
Phone is an AT&T I717 hence why I posted in this forum, using CWM, yes I'm downloading from WiFi with a laptop using Chrome, and the only ROM that worked was Slim 4.2.2. I flashed that one several months ago but my cousin is having freezing and rebooting problems why I was going to flash something else.

Its very easy . . . just download the zip from their site and flash it with CWR. It will replace CWR.
Use TWRP to make a backup of your current system and efs, then wipe system and data, then any rom you flash will be a clean installation. You don't have to mess with the modem.

Yeah I used to have TWRP on my Inspire didn't think it would be a big deal just using CWM to flash my cousin's phone. She doesn't know how to do any of this but she wanted a cleaner OS and hated all the bloat and saw how I had 4.2.2 on a way older phone. Any idea why CWM is failing just curious?

well, excuse me for trying to help. you would not be the first nor the last to try and flash file for wrong device. when someone has worked with multiple devices, it increases the possibilities of mixing up these files
all my questions were valid due to the lack of information and punctuation in your original post. nobody said you were inexperienced. accidents happen and I hate for anyone to all victim.
now that your picture uploaded, I see "status 7" update your recovery. which ever one you are going to use, it needs updating

Sorry if I seemed to be rude but I wasn't I was just trying to help I guess that is hard to notice when you can't convey tone due to only seeing letters. I appreciate the help and yes I know my grammar was horrible in the OP I was using my phone and in a hurry was just trying to post it up before I got busy and forgot to do it.
Why did CWR fail?
Like Captemo said, its outdated. Since 4.1 (JB) roms hit, you get a status 7 error, installation aborted.
Whats the big difference between twrp 2.5 and 2.6 lol 2.5 works just fine ...people were having issues with newer versions and 4.3 ....i say why fix something that isn't broken but people will argue with that. So whats the difference

All you guys need to do is let me know when there is a newer version!

So do I have to do something to fix the bootloop issue? Also why is that so? You need to have a bricked phone before you could make a patched bootloader.

wipe data factory reset(data, dalvik and cache)
that fixes the bootloop!
and modifying the bootloader is quite risky, if you do something wrong it could fail to write, fastboot and adb can fail to operate, cauld cause major issues that are un repairable without riffbox etc.. and even sometimes that doesnt work...
looks good, but bugs as above..
so pls solve them soon

Do we need 20 toolkits doing the same stuff? People need to learn what they are doing. With the rise of kits there is a rise in bricked phones for stupid reasons. People flashing cm kernels on non cm roms because they have no idea.
One kit is enough stop reinventing the wheel. Put your skills to something more useful.

That's funny. So you revived a 4 month old Dead Thread for what?? So we could hear your useless stupid rants about a contribution that someone wanted to make, an area which you have failed to achieve. If people don't read and know what they are doing then that is their fault, not someone who wanted to learn and or grow his skills by creating a toolkit. Put your skills to something useful and release something of your own, don't go being critical trying to revive old threads for no reason; and complaining about toolkits all over various Nexus 5 threads. Grow Up!

Procedure to install any rom on the stock partition over stock
Step 1.) Reboot and select recovery

Step 2.) Select boot options. Create a rom slot on rom slot 1. Keep the default memory values because the slot is only temporary.
In the meantime while its loading, go ahead and hit that thank you button :good:
Step 3.) After the virtual partition is made go back to /boot options/rom-slot-1 and activate the slot.
Step 4.) Go to the safestrap main menu and click install, then find the rom you want and flash.
Step 5.) Now that you have a rom installed on your virtual partition...
Go back to the main menu and back it up, you only need to
Note: backup both "DATA" & "SYSTEM" (This is a crucial part of the process and can not be skipped)
Step 5.) Go to /boot options/stock rom and activate it, then go to the rom-slot-1 and delete the partition.
Step 6.) Restore your baked up rom-slot-1 to your stock partition. Make sure to restore date and system.
Step 7.) Enjoy :good::good:

The reason I created this tutorial is because just flashing would never work for me, it's weird. When I try to just flash, it never gets wiped properly. And I think, even if that method works, it's safer.

Ok again I apologize for being a noob with ss, never had to use it with my previous htc devices. If I backup my stock ROM in ss, then wipe the stock slot and install a new ROM, wouldn't I be able to then wipe stock slot again and restore stock backup if needed? I don't have a need to have multiple roms loaded. Thanks.

@njfoses Correct, but I would recommend using mymethod of installing a new rom to your stock partition. You have less chances of screwing up your phone by flashing. And it's cleaner

Will it be an issue if I'm on MI9 and flash a ROM that is an MJ7 build? I read somewhere that it would be a good idea to Odin the MJ7 kernel/modem but I can't find those files anywhere.

Trying to make sure I understand the backup part of this process. I see that the backup I make is the ROM I just installed in the virtual disk. Is it assumed that I've backed up my "stock ROM" prior to restoring the ROM I just installed in the other slot?
My goal is to have a copy of my rooted stock ROM before I do anything on the phone.
Thanks

Yes than by all means, if you want a backup of your stock rooted ROM, Back it up too! These instructions have you erase the STOCK rom slot, so if you do not back it up, the only way to get it back would be to ODIN back, or find a flashable stock ROM -- in other words, the best option is to backup your stock ROM so that you can easily put it back into the STOCK slot, than simply go back into Android, and uninstall the safestrap, and its as if you never did anything.
