[Feature] [Interface] Active Display - PAC Feature Development

Description:
With Active Display your device can turn on when new notifications arrive and display that information to you on the screen. There is no need to turn your device on every time you hear that distinctive notification sound. Your notifications are right where you need them without all the clutter and free from other distractions. If your device has a proximity sensor, which most touch screen phones have, you are in luck. Active Display will not turn on if it detects something close to this sensor. So if you have your phone stashed away in your pocket or bag, don't worry, it won't turn the display on and waste your battery. And as an added bonus we've included an option to turn on pocket mode. When this is enabled active display will turn on your screen and display your current notifications instantly, provided you have any pending notifications.
Instantly turns the device screen on and displays notifications as they arrive
Up to 8 notifications displayed in a horizontal strip that can be viewed by touching the notification icon
Short notification description can be displayed around the outside of the center ring
Touch the center ring notification to view the full notification
Unlock the device, open the app for the current notification or dismiss the current notification
Set a re-display time to have active display remind you of your pending notifications
Adjustable brightness level for when active display turns the screen on
Pocket mode which allows active display to turn on once you remove the device from your pocket or bag

yes. it's a really needed feature.
Only check this option to work, if disabled the lock screen.
Because with disabled the lock screen - status bar disappears.

would be amazing if we can make this the default lock screen? so even with no notifications active display is still our lock screen?

ChaOS already has...
Should be able to pick it for PAC pretty easily. I use it, the only "annoying" part is the screen turns on whenever there is light changes - so it might turn on more than expected. But waving your hand over the phone and having it wake to show the date/time is pretty sweet

Would there be any way to use this with a notification blacklist? Like if I don't want all of my BBM notifications constantly lighting up my phone...

How battery consuming this feature is??
Any one who is using this feature??

Default lockscreen!!!! Pls pls pls...

Hello, I have the same problem using Omni 4.4 Rom, is it still a known bug?

I do not know. (not use OmniRom)
But elia222 (author of crDroid) corrected this problem in their firmware on build 16 crDroid AOSP
You better ask him ...

Thank you for your help, I wrote on his thread. I was actually asking whether your problem is solved on your PAC ROM.

[Q] Power button instant lock - how to turn off?

Hi, got HAM2. Very impressed. Wish it had Qi, but aside really good.
Q: How do I turn off power button instant lock?
Android always has this option, but for some reason I can't find it in settings!
In my MT2-L05 EMUI3.0 it's in Settings/Security/Power button instantly locks.

Wow, I just tried it myself and I get the same problem. Good job, Huawei...
Ya... and I'm having a hard time finding a module. any help would be appreciated
My HAM2 doesn't have this problem. I have the Delayed Lock app from the play store which modifies the locking though. I've also frozen the hwunlock lock screen since it was interfering.
Sent from my MT2L03 using Tapatalk
@arcadesdude your the man that app works great... glad to see you also still sporting the HAM2. problem solved

Happy to hear. Also if you want to clean up the notification, the Delayed Lock app can still run if you hide it's notification (long press on it then uncheck show notifications), it still works fine and the Notification bar is clean. Mine is set to auto lock after about 20 mins from when I turn off my screen and I also created a shortcut on my home screen to instantly lock it and turn off the screen (have to set wake to lock mode in the settings of the app). If you want to a shortcut like that you can do this in Nova Launcher (or something similar in other launchers). Long press and empty space on the homescreen. Choose shortcuts then delayed lock shortcuts then Lock now (which also turns off the screen).

Lollipop 5.1.1 clock and batterz low notifications

hey guys, i recently flashed liquidsmooth 4.1 (5.1.1 lollipop) and i have some questions about how that lollipop version handles notifications. what really annoys me is that from the 15% down i got the battery low warning on every single percent. so i dismiss battery low warning at 15% and then on 14% the battery notification appears, and then i dismiss it, and then on 13% again, i mean its really annoying, so if anyone knows how to disable this i'd really appreciate it.
second thing that annoys me about lollipop notifications is alarm notification, i dont want that alarm icon in notifications 2 hours before the alarm. ive tried disabling clock app notifications but then i get no alarm (it rings but theres no GUI so i have to go into clock app and turn off the alarm).
So thats about it, i'll write if i find anything else that annoys me and i dont find the way to disable it
Just don't dismiss the low battery warning and it won't annoys you on every single percent drop
And if these simple stuffs are annoying you , you should go back to pre-Lollipop. Because like seriously , a low battery notification that only appears for less than 5 seconds is causing annoyance to you? An early notification that reminds you earlier about an alarm so you don't forget or don't be late to your appointment is annoying? Wow.

i like the way kitkat handled those things, i dont know why you find it weird. if i dont dismiss the battery low notification it just stays there and the icon bugs me im a little funny that way.
i used liquidsmooth 3.2 (KK 4.4.4) for a long time and its cool and stable and fast but i like the new lollipop GUI and to be honest i really like some features like those nice lockscreen notifications. the kitkat version also has those lockscreen notifications but they're always just like heads stuck to the right edge of the screen so i have to swipe left to expand them..
anyways thanks for the reply
Im on stock and at 15% & 5% i get the notifications but i preset those. If i press the notification it takes me to the battery saver..
Maybe that is a rom issue and if it is you should be able to silence them one way or another. Thats the joy of root.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.

Well I'm sorry about that because this is all personal preference.
But I believe there is currently no way to disable those notifications unless you long press the notification and silence it (Note : It will also silence all notifications from Android System)
@drtifetfak
If you haven't try it out yet. Temasek's cm13 has the following options.
You can disable battery low notifications

[App] Energy Bar - Curved Edition for Samsung Galaxy S10/e/+

NOTE: The App is tested on Samsung Galaxy S9 so far, for the looks. If you have a Galaxy S10/e/+, please post some pictures as a feedback. Thanks!
Greetings! I made this special Curved Edition of Energy Bar for Galaxy S8/S9/+. Look forward to hear community feedback on this.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

Charging animation demo (style - bounce), thanks @sl33pyK!

Hey this is cool, I was considering making a similar app around the camera cutout... might be something you consider adding to this project! "Energy ring"..
Doesn't really translate onto the screenshot well tho:
Looks good. I did notice that the charging animation restarts when opening/closing the Energy Bar app. Did not appear to restart animations in other apps though.
It adds a corner to the top left of the screen that is visible in screenshots but doesn't appear anywhere else.
Screenshot attached for others to see.
Hi, great app for my s10... Thanks
Hi, Good Afternoon, I would like to install your App, but why is it asking for so much permissions. It says it wants to read my messages & other personal items. If this is an App to show how much power I have left, why does it need all those permissions?

I'm afraid to install it. I will try and see if I can get in touch with the developer. To ask why? I thought he monitored this thread. Thanks for answering.

Question Is there a way to enable double tap to wake screen option?

I miss this option from all my older phones.
Specially when the screen is so big and power button is placed higher, this should have been a must feature.

The problem is probably Android 11/12, it works with 10.
Make sure it has needed permissions in accessibility.
Not sure how that's set up on your phone, this is a Samsung:

No issues with the permissions. I granted them all. I guess Android 12 doesn't allow it.

12 is known to be a pain. Many have rolled back to 11. You can try Playstore to see if an updated version is available that would work. Scoped storage is a mess.
One of the reasons I bought a second new N10+ a few months ago was to avoid being forced to use Android 11/12.
Also a factor was Samsung's newest flagships suck.
Even it's under Lenovo, Moto phones don't support double tap to wake like Lenovo tablets do.
Tap and swipe is only workaround (you can enable peek display)
Using this app currently fir double tap to sleep. Works mostly. Sometimes it fails
I honestly don't understand how Moto can get rid of such a basic feature and replace it with an inferior 'peek display' option that doesn't even let you disable motion sensing, thereby making the phone light up at the slightest of movements. I was hoping that Moto Edge 30 Pro would have an option to address this but it doesn't seem to be the case.
In the meanwhile, here's an app that will at least light up your phone when there are new notifications without peek display enabled: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.nullgrad.glimpse&hl=en_IN&gl=US
Instead of double tap, you can enable tap to wake up with single tap in moto gestures.

Is there any way to prevent accidental touch turn ons using that?
Even double tapp occasionally triggers them...
Open moto app. Go to display settings and turn off peek display
use this app

Question Loving this phone and aodNotify, what other Apps do people use to enhance the phone experience?

Long story short, coming from a long time Huawei fanboy but now have an S23 Ultra. From a thread on here I’ve discovered aodNotify and love it. That got me thinking, what other apps do people consider essential to enhance the phone experience?

This lets you put a battery ring around the camera punch hole to make it useful. It also allows me to clear up my notification area and not have battery Icon/percentage there.

Just tried it, can’t get it to align on my S23 Ultra
Also, in case anyone is wondering, you can remove most of the icons on the Status bar:
Install Good Lock: https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
Launch Good Lock and install QuickStar
Enable Quick Star
Tap Visibility of Indicator Icons
Select the Battery Slider to disable it (as well as any others you want)

Not sure what to say here... I followed my instructions and was able to position it just fine.
One thing I can say is if you message the Dev, he's very responsive (he's even here on XDA (https://forum.xda-developers.com/m/jagan2.1884109/)) so you can message him and see if there is something he can help with.
I'll keep poking around and see if there was anything else I can think of that I did. I'll uninstall and reinstall to see if that can replicate what you are seeing and what I did to fix it.
Found the issue, my screen resolution is set to FHD+ and not WQHD+
If I change it to WQHD+ it's fine. I'll inform the dev.
Cheers.
