Move apps + Data to sdcard - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Guys
Is there any app that moves not just the app but the data as well to the sdcard? I'm running safestrap and hyperdrive and only have 50mb left in my device so need to move things to sdcard
Thx

I asked this a while back as well. From what I understand there is no way to do that unfortunately. I guess that's where flashing ROMs via Safestrap gets us huh?

I've been searching for an answer to this for a couple weeks now since Folder mount doesn't work anymore with safestrap. Haven't found the solution yet

In the mean while, any manual way to do this? I desperately need to reclaim some space off my internal storage and moving apps doesn't help as they are all about 10mb each

There is a way to accomplish part of what you want. You need to be rooted (which you obviously are). There are two apps in the Play Store you need, Aparted and Link2SD. Aparted will allow you to partition your external sd card where app data and other data will be stored and Link2SD will create a "link" to that partition so that data can be updated, stored and retrieved when needed. Depending on the apps you use the amount of storage freed can be significant. It does not work for "system" apps, only works for downloaded apps. Hope this helps.

I don't use safestrap so I can't say for sure. I don't see why it wouldn't though.

Folder mount worked without safestrap, but wouldn't with it because of something with the path names. I'll give it a shot later

I've never used aparted before, but it says it will erase my sd card... uhhh I can't lose everything, so I won't be trying this any time soon. Unless I am wrong and my card will survive.

You would probably have to copy everything off your SD to computer. Run Aparted and make sure you leave enough partition space on one side for your stuff you copied to computer to bring back to that partition.
Curious about this to as I'm a safestrap user but not sure I have the time to try it any time soon.

I'm in the same boat. My computer takes several hours to move my 20 GB of data each way. I would give it a shot if it didn't take so long. If anyone else tries this, keep us updated

I installed Hyperdrive 10.2 in my stock slot, and folder mount works as it should!

It looks like it, even game data. Atleast thats how it is with the international version and theres no move to sd option in the setting. I dont see why it would be different for US version. The only other option I can think of is when theres root you can use GL to SD so you can move large game data to micro sd and leave the apps in internal. This is a better solution if you have large game data.
Makes it tough to plug and play a preexisting sd card since apps are looking for saved data in the usual sd location.
Like you said, I'm sure once we custom roms things will be different

Managing free space

I have around 3gb free of internal storage. How is everyone managing their storage? Are yall using any apps to delete cache files? Refer to the pic for what my storage looks like.

I never even worry about space. I have an 8gb sdcard and I out downloads on that but beyond that I just let the phone do its thing

I put everything I could on my external sdcard: Camera default directory, Titanium Backup, game data, and ubuntu image (complete linux installer).

Not many big apps installed eh?
Install a couple big games and watch internal storage go bye-bye. So much for letting the OS do its thing.
I use DirectoryBind to redirect big apps to my sdcard. App isn't perfect, but it works.

Actually I thought I had a decent amount of apps installed. I have 16 games but I dont play the big ones usually since I hate most on screen controls. Thanks for the app though.

Some larger games have the option within the game itself; Bard's Tale for example. The option was offered when downloading the 1.8 GB datafile. The game still partly installs to the internal sdcard.

How'd you get Miscellaneous files so low? I have system memory in miscellaneous files. That can't be moved can it?
Not sure, but it may be because I am on Sprint and have android 4.1.1. If you notice, my 16 GB internal memory is reported as 10.95 GB. The other screenshots from VZW report the full 16 GB.

(Q) Folder mount working with safestrap

Does anyone know how to make this work on safestrap? Folder mount reads o mb for all of my apps and if I try to connect the folders from internal to my ext, my games always try to download the data as if there isn't any there. I'm stumped

I got a woody when I read your thread title. :cyclops:
Anyhoo, I posted this exact problem in here some weeks ago and so far no solution. The DIR structure for the source is completely wack I think to allow FolderMount to work out of Rom Slots with Safestraps. Nobody has had any answers to it.

I changed the title to a question. Lol my bad. I would love to figure this out. I made the source folder ss/emulated/0/Android/obb/com.... and got it to pin on folder mount, but the game still doesn't pick it up. :banghead:

Seems like it won't work. So a better question is... Is there an alternative to folder mount that we can use to store our game files on our external sd that will work with safestrap???

The point of an SD card ?

I bought an SD card a couple weeks ago and its pretty much useless since everything I download always goes into my internal storage. Maybe I am doing something wrong here? So what's the point of having one

Or use something like ES File Explorer File Manager from the Play Store or am alternative browser like Dolphin. ES has a downloader that is one of the choices when downloading a file from the web. In the ES settings you can set its default download location to the external card. Dolphin lets you pick the download location at each download. The TouchWiz camera and some others let you specify where to store photos.
Also, Titanium backup and other backup apps let you back up to the external card.
And most important of all, especially if you are crack flashing TouchWiz ROMs, keep your TWRP or CWM backups on the external card. They can be 2 GB+ each if you don't use compression, and not much better if you do. I have a 16 GB Nexus 7 and its a constant battle with backup space. I usually keep one solid reference backup and my latest only. I would love to be able to throw a 64GB card in it.

[Q] Storage question

Whenever I go to the storage option in settings, it shows that my downloads take up 2 gigs of space. but when I look at my downloads folder in root explorer, I don't have 2 gigabytes worth of files. Can someone tell me what's happening and help me fix it?

I'd maybe try clearing your cache in whatever recovery you have even if it's stock if you truly can't track that down and see if it helps or grab Disk Usage app from play store and see if maybe it's hiding somewhere you haven't thought to look

I agree with Mistertac, you will need to clean your dalvik cache and any other cache that you might possibly have. If you are not rooted, then I would recommend to use the app called Clean Master, which can help with you clearing up your downloads folder, boosting ram, and getting rid of unwanted applications. You can find the Clean Master application here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard
Another app to try is SD Maid
