I'm a newb myself but from what I understand - nightly means a ROM still in development (i.e. not fully complete) whereas a stable release is a ROM that has all the essentials and only getting tweaking.
Galaxy S3 will never get a stable release as Samsung don't want to give us the Exynos sources needed to make a complete ROM (i.e. to make it 'stable' per se). However, the nightlies on some builds are fantastic and can easily be used for daily purposes. Don't know much about Pac Man Rom though, so can't help you there.
Hope that helps and I'm sure someone will come to correct me very soon!

thank mate i was wondering if any one could make it
seems like there are a number of us from India who have the I9100G. Lately it appears Samsung is bringing in the -G instead of the pure I9100 model.
Overall though it's surprising that the -G isn't being shipped across nations in bigger quantities. I have 3 SGS2's in the family (2 pure I9100 and my I9100G) and i can tell that while my G version for sure has better battery life and sound quality (most important for me).. it does tend to have slightly more lag in menu processing and hardware acceleration features.

there are two roms here , which one is the best ?
that akward moment, when you realize you bought a version of one of the most popular handys that nobody really mods for
beside that i recommend checking the development threads and maybe asking the devs if they maybe mod it for this version. i wish you good luck

I have one and don't worry "G" comes to Europe. Soon there everywhere "G" version of this phone. So custom roms, mods etc will come in time. And I must say that I didn't notice any menu lag gaming lag or something else on my phone.

[q] cyanogenmod 7.1 info

Hi guys, i'm using KI8 stock with siyah 1.8 right now, and it looks like one of the best configuration for galaxy S2.
Anyway, i'm very interested about trying the famous cyanogenmod 7.1 stable, and i just want to have some judgement about it...it's faster and more battery safe than a stock? it's the best?
[NIGHTLY][ROM][GWK74] CyanogenMod 7 (w/ Gingerbread 2.3.7) for Galaxy SII Q&A contains 6,602 posts relating to CyanogenMod, or since you mention 7.1 "stable" (it was later changed to RC1), [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Galaxy S II :: V7.1.0 RC1 (9 Oct 2011).
There is no stable release. There is a lot of issues and you should really wait and go with MIUI or one of the modded samsung roms for now

Wrong. There is a stable release, and you can download it from the link posted above. Also, it's not full of bugs, but if you're going to try it, I suggest you go for the latest nightly; it should have more fixes than the stable build. However, it's an experimental build, so be prepared for weird things. I'm using it since a long time, and it's really stable on my phone.
Also, learn to f***ing post in the right thread

Which is based on CM7 and therefore would contain most if not all of the same "issues".
in the cyanogenmod official page the rom it's called "stable"...and anyway i think MIUI has more issues than CGM...

[ROM] CM9 Stable

Hi all.
The latest CM9 stable release is out for our SGS3 is out. Version 9.1.0, dated 29-08-2012, see http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=i9300&type=stable
I'm wondering. Of course it runs stable and all and everything works like it should, but I'm asking if some functions like SmartStay are working with it. Or is it the case that if all functions must be working one must install a stock rom?
In 6 years, sadly you did not learn where to post questions.

Hmm.. not only did you not know where to post in your six years here, you also post something which is quite old.
Very misleading, mods please delete.

[Q] Any link or sign of a custom android 4.2 for Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100

I am sure many people are Eager like me to get Android 4.2 via any rom. I will be thankful for any help on this.
I've only JUST got a 4.0 update for my Optimus 2X, count yourself lucky!
---------- Post added at 12:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------
Also, in response to your poll, I do love MIUI, but to use that on my phone I have to stay on 2.3
Ya but custom roms are cooler themn official roms so you should use them.
As far as I know there is currently not any available 4.2 custom ROM available for the S2. Suggest you start following activities here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1204 I've started using JellyBam recently as the developer is constantly updating/active. I would be JellyBam will be updated to 4.2 as soon as possible: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903162

I'm on 1.2 and now the update is 1.4, everybody thank the guy from the op, he's making this work.
