Is the Surface compatible with tempered glass? - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I've been eyeballing the surface but need to know if it will work with my iloome 9H glass protector.

The thread is in the wrong forum. This is for the Galaxy Note 3. You're asking about the Microsoft Surface...

I am asking about the Seidio Surface.

haha that's funny, I can see the confusion =)
I can tell you that the seidio surface is NOT compatible with the Spigen Glas tR. The tR is too thick and will start to bubble. I'm not sure about the other ones.

Agreed. That's why I sent mine back. Ended up getting a tiny scratch too on the plastic bezel on the top because of trying to get it off. Really annoying.

Thanks for the info. That sucks. I really wanted the SEIDIO surface!

Same with the little $8 glass that is some where in this forum. Got it today. Fits nice but to close to the edges. The case still fits very very snug and bubbled up one or twice but can be pressed back down. Its only a issue if im changing out batteries "hence taking off the case"... Other wise its just fine. If i had to do it all over.... I wouldn't purchase a glass protector to use with surface unless the edges are cut shorter on the glass.

VITREO™ Tempered Glass Screen Guard for Galaxy Note 3
http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3-vitreo-screen-guard-p/sptssgt3-cl.htm
Compatible with our SURFACE™ with Metal Kickstand
So it may work with the tempered glass screen you are talking about since it'll work with the one Seidio is making.

Looks like the vitreo is .55 mm and my iloome 9H is .4. Maybe they are compatible.

I don't think it's the thickness that matters more so than the cut of glass. If it goes out to far to the edges the case won't fit on without pushing up the glass...right ?

GLASS on GLASS screen protector

http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...tor-glas-t-premium-tempered-glass-series.html
It's a screen protector that's actually made out of glass.
It's been chemically treated to resist scratches and fingerprints.
Ships out next week.... Was thinking about getting one....
Here's the review for the iphone version of it:

It's 0.5 mm so maybe certain cases won't fit
Maroon, your posts are always of interest, but this screen protector is a stellar find! I will get one, it is the first one that delivers protection with out losing screen clarity and feel. Good find and thanks for sharing.

I wish I waited, well now I am getting a second screen protector.
i saw this last week, great tip!
but i ordered a Zenus Air Capsule. i've heard they are a tight fit, so i wonder if that protector wouldn't work with the Air Capsule. i'd love to hear from someone who has tried it!
Wow...this looks really tempting. Gives me even more reason to wait for the Note to drop further in subsidized price...preferably to $200.
I don't see the point of putting glass on it, it will be just thicker when we are looking for the thinnest screen protector? Right?
I wonder though if the thickness would affect the sensitivity of the pen? Those of u checking this out let us know
it's really good. Thanks for info.

Common misconception.
The screen itself does not detect pressure from the S Pen. It uses electromagnetic resonance. This means that what affects the levels of pressure are in the S Pen itself. The S Pen is powered by resonant coupling to my understanding.
What does this mean for us? Screen protectors of any size.
Try it for yourself. you can draw through cardboard and even hover paper 1cm ABOVE the screen. Scribble on that paper and you'll see that it write below.
Awesome tech
That actually makes sense, thanks for the info. So people who are experiencing s pen problems do u think it is caused more than likely by not calibrating the pen, or by having a faulty pen?

I installed a free protector from spg called Steinheil and so far so good, no problems with my pen.

Thinnest case with drop protection?

Just picked up the note yesterday. Didn't get insurance on it so obviously I'm quite paranoid and can't afford to break it. At the same time though i don't want a huge bulky case. Id like a case that's thin and lightweight but will offer moderate protection if im careful with it. Suggestions?

You won't get drop protection with a thin case. Thin cases, like most of the hard surface ones, are more like scratches protection.
You could get TPU case, the real rubbery one, and not the hard one with rubberized surface. It will still be thin.
For best drop protection, you will need a thick one like Seidio or Otterbox (if they release one)

The SGP Ultrathin has fitment issues on the Note, enough to force me to return mine. Would rec avoiding it and going with the Elago Slim case as a super thin replacement.

Yeah i know i can't get anything crazy thin and have drop protection but i also don't want something completely huge. Maybe i will be ok with just a real thin one though if it has good grip and a bit of a lip on the front. Has anyone heard of broken screens yet? Or is it worth it to get otterbox/similar?

Anyone know of a bumper that has foam protection on the inside? The more i use this phone he more i love it. Don't want to have to cover it up or add huge bulk. I would think a lightweight bumper with some internal padding would b awesome

That seems inexpensive but do the screen protectors work with the I717?
I bought "Speck" case thru AT&T. Shiny plastic outside and rubber inside. Happy with it.
Screen protectors, got the zagg invisible shield from bestbuy. It feels rubbery and stylus having hard time gliding over it.
My suggestion: Do not buy ZAGG screen protector for Note.

I like this case. I have some questions for you. How do you like it? How do you attach the plastic outer piece once the the rubber liner is in place? Can you still remove the battery door while the bumper is on? Is there a lip on the front and the back to protect the screen and the camera? And it there room for a screen protector (like the Glas.t)? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

Plastic with a leather inner backing to resist scratching. It's not super protective but it's done my Galaxy Nexus well. I really don't like cases, but this one has been the exception.
I absolutely love the Ringke Slim. Had one for my SII also. It's perfect for me.

rather have a tempered glass, it feels much better than iloome flex. iloome flex i tried doing the scratch test with a key, iloome flex became scratched easily while bodyguard tempered glass strong not a single micro scratch. invest on a 0.3-0.4 tempered glassh 9H and you won't have to worry about this thing.

I'd have to look them all up, I have quite a few cases. I looked at the Caseology cases and they will be fine with the Feather Glass.
I use the spiegen ultra Sim and the nilkin (the cheapest one) and it's perfect.
only downside is the bottom button which is now lower than the glass but it's OK.
camera gets a small protection too
I think you should be fine. The edges of the Nillkin glass are rounded to that should help also. If you feel the home button is harder to press with the glass on then get a Mime home button. It's a metal sticker that holds on pretty well. I believe they are $2.99 with free shipping in the USA.

I loved it on the M8 but for some reason on this note 3 it catches way too many smudges and fingerprints
