How to root HTC One Max? - HTC One Max

I found this from Google.
All credits to Himanshu Rawat, http://www.handheldwar.com/htc/root-htc-one-max-without-loosing-stock-rom/
Rooting
1. Download One Click Root to your computer or laptop, after download extract it.
2. Open One Click Root Button.
3. Click on Root Now Button.
4. After Few minutes your HTC One Max would restart.
5. After the Restart your HTC One Max will be rooted.
I HAVEN'T TRIED THIS MYSELF! Have anybody else tried and confirm it to work?

I don't think it works.... refer to the same blog http://www.handheldwar.com/htc/root-htc-desire-601-without-loosing-stock-rom/
This blogger seems to just post the same thing for attracting traffic.. the oneclickroot application might even be some kind of maware.

Yeah, but i'm afraid to try it if someone say that it doesnt work I dont want brick my new One Max right away..

I would try it however mine is soffed and rooted already... I won't worry about trying it out.. There are not much tool which can brick our phones without s off or atleast bootloader unlock.

It´s not working already tryed. I have the same Problem wan´t to gain s-off without unlocking bootloader, but there for i need a rooted stock rom. But i find no way to root my stock rom without unlocking the bootloader. If someone find a why please tell me.

I am afraid there won't be any methods to root it without boot loader unlock. Google is making android secure enough that root does not happen until bl unlock, which is good for us. If I am not wrong Samsung phone still get a method without bootloader unlock, I suppose that's because if Samsung or the extreme number of ppl could be working on it.

is your phone Verizon or sprint? The international variant is quite straight forward to root.
1. Unlock Bootloader via HTC Dev
2. Flash custom recovery from the recovery thread CMW/TWRP.
3. Download SuperSu.zip from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
4. Flash the zip in recovery.
If you use runrunner for the international version, you have to be rooted/unlocked first.

As I was running through the numerous One Max reviews researching whether I would take the plunge or go for the Note 3, I ran across the following article:
http://www.andromods.com/root-unloc...-rooted-unlock-bootloader-soff-rumrunner.html
It's dated for 9 December, but I can't totally verify that it works however as I was "lucky" to find one on eBay already S-Off, Rooted, and Bootloader Unlocked. Figured the seller's asking price of $675 was essentially the same as going to VZW and dropping $599 + tax. (Holding on to my unlimited data plan is getting increasingly more expensive with each phone upgrade.

Hello
Please i need Your help
If i will use One click root to my HTC Max 809d it will root it without stops the fingerprint ?
I need to know this before i make it if you please .
Thanks.

I don't think the update will install if you are rooted. But I am not certain of that since I have not personally tried it.
It won't install upon reboot, but haven't had the chance to try and install manually. Just don't want to lose root abilities by updating.

You won't lose root. You'll soft brick.
What is soft bricking? How can I update the flyer without any issues?
Soft brick is when your device won't boot because there are aspects of your software that are not compatable, but can easily be corrected. Hard brick is when you are shot out of luck

How do get root if I made already the update and have s-on??
That depends on whether you want to use HTC unlock (not recommended) or not.
Elfuente, any chance you can give me a teamviewer session for 20-30 minutes at some point today? In return I'll get you to S-OFF, rooted with your current (US) software on HoneyComb.
Is there a simple procedure to get the ota working with s-off, without using adb or digging through tons of threads to figure this out? Now trying to avoid soft bricking and confused to the correct procedure. Thanks.

Yeah, the procedure is to use the search function, or just look on the first page of the Development subforum.
Seriously, I used the following process on my Best Buy WiFi-only Flyer to get S-Off, root and upgrade to HC:
I used the following guide to get S-Off and root. Once you have the required files downloaded, the process takes about 10 minutes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709
Then globatron's guide to upgrade to HC can't be any easier. I just used the beginner procedure in Step 2. Just download the file and run the .exe.

If you try to install it, it will hang on the boot screen. And the only way to boot is restart in recovery and delete the file. At least, that's what happened with the previous OTA.
AFAIK, you shouldn't install an OTA if you are rooted, on ANY Android device. You will either get a device that won't boot, or an updated but non-rooted device.

AT&T HTC One X+ CM10 and Root

Hi,
i searched everywhere couldn't find anything about the AT&T verison of HTC One X+ and CM10
Is there a way to root the ATT version and install CM10 on it???
Read only about the international version yet. Don't want to brick my new phone.
Thanks.
Nope, there's still a bit of a wait on CM10/ASOP for AT&T/TELUS users. When a usable version is ready, it'll probably be here with [AT&T/TELUS] in the title.

So, the experimital CM10.1 is running on your HTC One X+. I have the same phone and I have unlocked it from HTC's web site. I'm a noob and don't know a lot about this stuff. Still learning. Should I try any mod or wait? I really want to get the AT&T crud off of my phone. Like I said, my phone is unlocked now.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
There are several non experimental roms you can install already just to get rid of the at&t stuff. Also you could root it and use titanium backup or root uninstaller or something to just get rid of unneeded stuff. If it were me, I would not DARE try anything experimental with my new phone, especially something cm10 related because pretty much all the devs have said there is nothing ready yet on that avenue.

OK, I'm new here and I really thank you all for any advise. I will read on and try to find some of these existing ROM's. This is probably a REALLY big noob question. If my phone is unlocked, does that mean it is rooted?

Unlock is unlock and root is root
Indeed. You have unlocked the bootloader which is step 1. Now you need to root which is step 2. There is an all in one tool in the android development forum you can use to root. That might be the easiest way to go. Once you are rooted you can get root uninstaller for free from the play store or titanium backup. Titanium is probably better choice there. You could also flash a rom through recovery that is already rooted but most of those require you flash the kernel seperatly so if you are.very new i probably wouldnt do that just yet. Read up on the process first. Hope that helps.

Thanks! My problem is this..... I used the HTC step by step from http://onexroot.com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/
I got through the step where the instructions say to Mark - Right Click Copy - Paste into the HTCDev.com website
I then followed the instructions on through until the phone was unlocked.
At step 39 the instructions say to -
Reboot your phone into Fastboot mode and type the following in command prompt:and
type and execute at the cmd prompt -
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.2.7-endeavoru.img
OK, I finished these steps and am now stuck at step 40.
I then copied the CWN-SuperSU-v.0.87.zip file to the root of my phone storage
The phone won't boot in to recovery at all
What is the CWN-SuperSU-v.0.87.zip file for and do I need to complete the step by rebooting using it in recovery mode? It will not boot in to recovery anyway.
So my phone was wiped and unlocked but back to the original AT&T build and I don't understand where I pick up in the process.
This is the point where I get confused. I research and read everywhere too. I know my phone is unlocked for sure. It's not bricked yet. :fingers-crossed:
I don't know where I pick back up with the process using some of the recommendations you guys have given me.

Q: rooting Huawei G535-L11 (kestrel from EE)

hi, is there a way of rooting this phone, i've tried all rooting methods (one click , Vroot , framaroot, SRS, etc....) no luck, any suggestions from our XDA devs here ??
I am super disapointed with the lack of interest form the modding community. Kestrel beats MotoG in multiple areas and is a cracking piece of HW. My daily driver now (left my Note 3 as a backup device)
WIth Android 4.2 and Snapdragon 400 onboard, device is plenty fast, I would just like to get CM11 on it for the sake of a pure experience.
I guess rooting is becoming less and less of interest and OEMs doing a better job at developing their SW...

Thanks mate, I appreciate Huawei may have played the bad guys and made it tougher to root. I am having a hard time understanding why a pure consumer product like this one is locked so tightly by the OEM... It's not like they are trying to attack the entreprise market, next thing you know they will add a Knox like mechanism

i'm sure one of our devs here will come up with the root just to prove them wrong, i understand its a new phone branded as EE kestrel ,just about 1 month since its launch, i mean Huawei were quite good , supply the code to unlock the bootloader. i wish there was an old fashion way to root it, all these super one click methods don't hack it.

what custom roms, there aren't any custom roms for the kestrel , not yet.
1- you'll need a custom recovery ( they haven't made one yet )
if you've found one that works with the kestrel , post the link
don't go flashing roms that aren't for your phone, you'll end up with a brick
Unlock bootloader : Check but the fastboot format all data
Root : Check
Go for recovery ....

don't go flashing roms that aren't for your phone, you'll end up with a brick

Wow..Huawei sent the code within 5 minutes of emailing them! Bootloader now unlocked!! Thank you so much.
I am gonna try out G6 ROM and see what happens to the phone.
Have you got a working custom recovery, to make a backup first. If you have one, send it to me. Cos I need one.

Is anyone already working on porting TWRP to our u11 life? If not, I might try building for us all. Let me know so I don't waste my time.
Thanks!

Thanks dude!
I'll start tomorrow maybe after I get off work if I'm not too tired. No promises
I just want this to be like my old m8. An active community though I realize we aren't dealing with a flagship here, I'm still going to try to contribute somehow.

Nice to see some development interest for this phone!
Maybe it's too early to know but recovery for T Mobile variant will be the same as Android One?

If I had the device I'd take a gander at making a recovery. I'd even make a CWM just for the fun of it if possible. Keep in mind I've never ported a recovery but I don't imagine the process is that difficult.

My guess is that the Android One variant will have A/B partitions for seamless updates, so there's going to be a different recovery and install method. All devices endorsed by Google since the launch of the Pixel use the new partition table and this results in difficulty in 3rd party development. Pixel doesn't have an official LOS ROM yet and just got official Magisk last month. It's going to be a rough start, but the community will grow.

We are able to unlock the bootloader, Which means we can go Super CID. With Super CID we can flash (in DL mode) a magisk patched boot.img , and achieving root access. So next will be porting a recovery........ Get to work.

You don't need SuperCID to flash a boot.img. That's simply incorrect.
Also, there was a link posted in the U11 TWRP thread to a test TWRP build for the U11 Life. Not sure if anyone tried it, but there were also device files uploaded, so it's probably a good place to start.

Technically yes and no , there arent any Tmobile boot img's floating around, so it has to be another GSM boot img. To ensure there are no hiccups being SuperCID wouldn't hurt.

I repeat: SuperCID has nothing to do with flashing a boot.img. You can literally flash any boot.img that fits on your device (with a proper header & dtb) if the bootloader is unlocked. CID isn't involved. In fact, SuperCID leads to issues with Carrier customization on newer devices, and RUUs will only flash on devices with the correct CID, not SuperCID. I think that happened around the time of the M9 Marshmallow or Nougat update.
In fact, you don't even have to flash the boot.img. You can simply fastboot boot it, and you should still be able to achieve root. And then you can back up the stock boot.img so there IS a T-Mobile boot.img "floating around." If someone just downloads one of the RUUs from Easy Firmware, uses the Decrypt Tool to extract it, and then Magisk to patch it, it should be possible to dump all of the stock T-Mobile device partitions.
Haven't seen you around since the Evo LTE. But I may be getting the U11 Life pretty soon, so I should be able to contribute in some way or form to the development of the device.
Anyone try that test TWRP build in the u11 thread yet? I'm thinking about it..

u know the risks I looked through the source it has sd660 not 630. So I'm not sure what would happen but we won't know till someone finds out. Also I'm not sure if all the partition info would be the same.

I paid the 15 dollars from easy firmware hopefully it's not a scam website and real files. I'm down loading one now. I'll keep you posted

You don't even have to flash it. Just fastboot boot it from the bootloader and see if it works. That makes literally zero changes to your device. Nothing to risk at all.
Also, if you're not willing to soft brick your device for the purpose of testing, then there's no way you'll ever have a working TWRP.

It's a real website, and the files are all real. If you grab the combined signed RUU for the 617 region, you should be able to patch the extracted boot.img with Magisk for root.

SM-T860 Combination Rom Request [solved]

Anybody have a working copy? I downloaded one from here https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117934353 but it seems to be corrupted. Failed md5 invalid binary. Downloaded twice with same result. Anybody have another link would be appreciated.
BTW renaming without the md5 doesn't work. Odin doesn't even seem to recognize it.
Edit - Found. @Mentalmuso was nice enough to get this. If you're here then this saved your life, so don't forget to shoot him a beer.

I downloaded the combination ROM from the link above, but have never used one (or even heard of them before this post), so I have a few questions:
(1) From what I've read, combo ROMs are 'service' ROMs with capabilities that are mostly useful on phones, but also seems to give the user more freedom over the device, in general. Is this correct?
(2) What advantages on an aleady rooted tablet?
(3) Wanna share any user experience(s)?
Thanks

I guess it was removed. Here's another one. A bit older but same bootloader rev number which i believe is all that matters.

Unfortunately you won't be able to flash combination files due to some new Samsung security feature with 2019 devices. I've been trying various ways unsuccessfully so far.
Maybe @ashyx can help.
Is there any other way to do FRP bypass? My tablet doesnt have Sim so sim method wont work

here's a no sim method. I couldnt get smartswitch to connect after the reboot but maybe you'll have better luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ydqy3Nur3w&t=329s
This smartswitch wont work. I have Nov security update so after restart it wont start smartswitch. My firmware is T860CXXs1xxxx so combination T860CXXU1ASG8 wont work cause it has U1 not S1 build. It wont let me flash it. Numbers should match so you are able to flash combination. I believe we will have to wait when S1 or S2 or S3 combination firmware will come out. Better not to flash newer firmware. I guess we have exactly the same situation. If I FRP my tab I will message you
---------- Post added at 11:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:15 PM ----------
I tired all previous methods but could not find solution. Usually its a couple of months after security update. So we are very close to crack FRP
Anyone have any luck with bypassing FRP on the Tab S6 yet? I'm in the same boat. Can't flash combination file.

I'm in the same boat. FRP locked.
I would REALLY appreciate some assistance and of course I would be eternally gratefull!!
THANKS!!
Problem solved!!
I just figured out how to get passed FRP lock without flashing firmware or using a computer.
Fully updated tab S6. Fairly simple to do. I will be posting a how to as soon as I can. At work now and simply can't. Tropical storm and all....
If you would like to ask a question, feel free.
Woo hoo!!!

What question ? Simply explain process and solution (if any) to others and that's all.
If solution is simple, so procedure explanation will be short as well and benefit to those who were stuck in FRP.
Personally, I doubt it is possible without usage of re-flashing or computer.
Since last post at August 4th untill now, it seems a very long 20 days tropical storm indeed.
I don't think I like your attitude.
I have not been on much and I forgot to explain the process I used.
It is possible as I have done it. Don't really care if you doubt it.
For anyone else that would like to know what I did, I will post tomorrow. I am working today and can't.
