[Request] Custom ROM with ported apps - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! As the title states I'd like to request a custom ROM. First and most important, it has to work on my International Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.
The other things I'd like is:
It should be based on the CyanogenMod 10.2 or 11 (whichever is best/most stable at the moment)
I want it to have Samsungs video player from the S3 or S4
It should not run TouchWiz as the launcher, instead I'd like the latest Google Home and Search.
If possible, put the Chrome or Chrome Beta browser as standard since I prefere those over the original browser.
If you have any of your own suggestions of other things that should be added, please let me know about them! With that I mean if you want to add something from the Carbon ROM or so.
It should be noted that I don't have the slightest clue if this can be done or not, but if it could, I'd be forever grateful to the one who accepts this request and delivers a ROM with these features.
Many thanks in advance!

XDA does not do requests and devs are hardly likely to read this post .

[Q] What do we get by installing Cynogenmod?

Hello all,
I have been an android user for over two years but never delved into rooting/installing custom roms. The main advantage of rooting seems to be the ability to remove bloatware and to have some customized look. Is there any other advantage (performance?) to it? Cynogenmod seems to be a very popular ROM among all. What can Cynogenmod (or any other roms) do that some advanced launchers (NOVA, AWD etc) cannot?
Also, is there any webpage or post that explains all these terms (rooting/custom kernals/flashing etc.,) for a dummy like me?
Thanks.
Cyanogenmod is based on stock pure android and not sense like what comes on the phone. It reaches far beyond what a launcher can do. It's a complete OS replacement. Beyond that it is very easy to get the answers you seek from either here or Google

Custom ROMS and Samsung "Special Features"

Hi
I recently got a Verizon GalaxyS4 and put Cyanogenmod Nightly on it. I noticed that the Samsung Special features are no longer there.
The special features I'm talking about are:
Touchless Control, Video Pausing when looking away, eye-scrolling, etc...
Is it possible to have these features on a custom ROM?
Thanks
P.S. Sorry if this is a dup thread, I searched to no avail.
no it's not possible

Custom rom and Samsung apps

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if there is a way to be on custom rom (IE: CM, AOKP etc) and still have samsung apps, so that I can do all-share cast, stream videos to my tv ETC. I have a sprint S3.
Thanks,
All of the Samsung apps and services require the TouchWiz framework to function. Non-TouchWiz ROMs like CM and AOKP will not support them, but there may be equivalent apps out there.
BTW, questions should be posted in the Q&A section.

[Q] Stock Android on my Samsung Tablet?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition, and I was wondering if I can install stock Android on it without loosing S-pen Driver support. Also I'm not getting the KitKat Update because I'm currently living in Greece, even though I'm using the GUI in English, so that kinda annoys me. Anyway, I hope there's a solution.:good:

Cyanogenmod is about as close as you are going to get to stock Android for it. S Pen works, but you won't have any built-in S-Note or handwriting keyboard type stuff. You will need 3rd party app replacements. As far as the update, it's pretty common for them not to get auto-updates if you are in a different region and they haven't pushed out the OTA there. It's best to update via the computer anyway as it creates less issues generally.

On cyanogen mods website they state only the original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, not 2014 edition are supported. Also, can't I use the Samsung S-pen apps if I port them over to CM? And lastly - how can I update via the computer. THx

No. They're usually tied to the TouchWiz framework and it's hard to nearly impossible to get many Samsung apps working properly on non TouchWiz roms.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ Search for P605 and download the one you want for the region the tablet is original from or if you have a rom picked out and they suggest a different base to have installed first, use that one. Instructions will be the same either way. You can follow the guide here:

Or any of the other 1000s of guides for how to update via Odin on here, any other Android phone/tablet forum, YouTube, etc.

[Q] Stock, vanilla rom for SII?

Looking for a vanilla rom for my SII. I'm trying to avoid the customized roms because they all seem to have something wrong with them (broken 3G, Bluetooth, speakerphone, etc...) and don't want to trade one set of bloatware or unwanted customization (stock) for another set (custom).
Don't care if it's JB or KK, but I'm trying to find something that's as close to vanilla Android as possible. I like how clean my Galaxy Nexus (personal device) is and would like to make my new work device the same way. Not interested in nightlies and such. Just want stability and cleanliness. I had CM on my Galaxy S prior to this upgrade but it was too buggy.
Thank you for any suggestions.
