[Q] i9300 for gaming - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If i buy the i9300 quad core version for mainly gameing purposes, will it last me a good 2 years for gaming? Or does anyone experience game lag on this phone?
Also does the i9300 get 3g with at&t sim?

AT&T galaxy S3s have a different forum.
This forum is for the international version (i9300).
The forum you're looking for is for the i747.
Also, the S3's graphics card is decent, but it might not play games 2 years from now perfectly.
3G should work no matter what S3 you get, however, only some models of S3s get 4G LTE.
The AT&T model has a slightly better graphics card and more RAM, so it probably is better for gaming.

[Q] Tmobile vs ATT S2

I was looking to get the s2 either from tmobile or att since my contract is up. I noticed or heard that they boost the s2 to 1.5ghz for tmobile so it can run on their network and hence it is a faster s2 among the s2. Is this true.
The guy said it is on 2.3.5
Is there a root and unlock out there that is successful for this device?
any advantage to rooting and disadvantages, the obvious ones, that i should be aware of?
THank you
T-Mobile has a Crapdragon CPU and Adreno GPU, the AT&T has Exynos and Mali and will outperform the T-mobile variant even though it at a lower clock speed.
so i guess the latter questions are not appropriate here on xda??

[Q] Will Galaxy S2 HD LTE work in Indian 2G/3G network?

I want to buy Galaxy S2 HD LTE version. But since it's a US variant I first compared it on GSMArena here
Code:
hxxp://www[dot]gsmarena[dot]com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4198&idPhone2=3621
and surprisingly regular S2 and HD LTE versions have exactly the same frequencies. So should I buy this one?
If you buy one don't expect much support since the phone isnt even listed on xda.

Get the international version i9100 or i9100P (has NFC)
Sorry do you have 4G network in Jordan?
@Nyssa1104 thank you man for reply international version has 1.2GHZ but t-mobile has 1.5GHZ why international are better i dont know if we have 4g but i certain that we have 3g
Definitely get the international version if you're planning on using custom firmware.
There seems to be a lot more development that has happened/is continuing to happen for this variant as opposed to the others. But as Nyssa mentioned, if you can get one (international) with NFC (so you can use it as a virtual wallet/tap to pay, etc) why not
@MistahBungle thanks man i didnt understand you so i will rewrite the question in another type if i bought a T-mobile can i unlock it to apply our Sim (orange, zain, ect) and what is the different between international and T-mobile
I honestly don't know if the T-Mobile version will work in your country or not (I have international version). The T-Mobile has slightly bigger screen, different processor, 4 touch buttons, support for 42mbps data speeds, and supports 1700mhz UTMS...This is all as far as I know. You might want to do a bit more research about the features yourself.
You might want to ask your carrier if this phone will work on their network or not before buying it.
thanks guy for help but i have a little question to people who used the 1.5 and 1.2 processor is there a big different between them
Are you sure you don't want a Galaxy Note? I wouldn't buy SGS2 now, when GN is out.
But if you get one, get the international.
AFAIK it's the same processor, only OCed a bit, what you can do with a custom kernel aswell.
T mobile sgs2 uses a qualcomm snapdragon which is based on the cortex A8 vs the A9 in the exynos and as such is slower clock for clock, so the 1.2ghz exynos is faster and has a better CPU.
I would go for the i9100, it supports GSM (2g) 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G 850/900/1900/2100 so make sure it will work on your network.

PS, I was bored so I checked the networks in Jordan, and as far as I can tell, they use 900 and 1800 so at least it will work on edge/2g and should work on 3g (old thread where someone said they are using a at&t iPhone 3g there on 3g fine, and the i9100 covers the same 3g bands) but I can't find any hard info so I can't be 100% sure.

I recommend buying the International i9100 BUT make sure it isn't the i9100G. It's far worse than the original i9100. Aside from that the AT&T SGS2 looks good too

No, there isn't. Nothing you're gonna feel in day-to-day usage.

Galaxy S3 LTE vs Galaxy S3 International

So living in canada, I have a question about the S3's:
Since the Canadian version is coming out on the 20th (which is the duo core snapdragon 2gb ram version) I would like to compare the two versions.
In Vancouver, our LTE only works in like 1/4 of the city so I'm really not after the LTE.
I have already pre-ordered the international version and was wondering which variant was faster.
To my knowledge, both variants are very comparable. From the benchmarks I've seen comparing the HOX with the Qualcomm S4 chip vs the SGS III, the quad core Exynos processor is pretty much on par with the S4. Although the quad core Exynos did come on top by a negligible margin. However, in actual performance, you shouldn't notice if one is faster than the other.

[Q] t-mobile galaxy s3

I know that t-mobile will reveal their version of galaxy s3 on June 21 with S4 chip instead of quad core chip. Right now, I'm using t-mobile galaxy s2, and i can tell you that it sucks compare to the international version.
Do you guys know if the international version of Galaxy s3 will work on t-mobile hspa+ ?
International version of SGS3 will not work with T-mobile HSPA just yet.
T-mobile is changing their HSPA feq from 1700 to 1900 later this year but until then no.
So do you think with the upcoming upgrade it would be a good choice to purchase the international version vs. the Tmobile version?

i mean do say the internatinoal version runs on t mobile ..but with 2g internet or hspa one? pls reply
My two cents are that atleast in htc devices like the one x the s4 us version is way better then the quadcore int. I have the at&t version and my brother have the int. Version and i could tell the s4 version is a lot faster and comsumes less batery that the international one my quadrant scores are from 4800 to 5000 and the internacional scores are from 4500 to 4800 i know that quadrants arent everything but in user intrrface and heavy games you can notice the diference...i cant tell that the s3will be the same story untill its realese but thats my experience

Just a FYI, it won't be the same. The international version has a much more powerful GPU. Pretty sure the processor will be a beast as well.
