Hello everyone I have a Samsung i9300 that keep losing signal.
While I have signal I get not registered on network, after I do airplane mode on and off i get signal back.This problem seems more happening when I have wifi activated. It is not software problem cause I did a deep clean and I am on 4.0.4
now but problem still persist?
What could be ? Should I replace wifi antenna, sim reader or what?

I went back to this fw cause I did a deep clean same problem with any fw and any modem,I think it is a hardware fault but unsure what component.

My first post here n i just know little more than nothing about these stuffs..
well, yesterday i updated my Galaxy s3 GT I9300 [non rooted] via kies where there shown new firmware available for your device..
followed all steps n my device got updated too. In about device its showing android version 4.1.1
What am not getting is Internet connection at all.. in my notifiction bar i have seftware update disclaimer to re3gister my device which
i can't do coz there is no internet network.. otherwise all things are normal and am able to do voice talks..
Kindly help me

CM is a great ROM,and i d like to upgrade it almost everyday.But there is a problem since a few days ago:when i had upgraded CM10.1 of 20130412 version( or20130413 or 20130414 or 20130415 or 20130415) , there is no signal of my phone.
When i reflash back the 20130410 version ROM of CM10.1,it was OK for signal.
my phone:i9300
today there is a strange thing. i have upgraed my phone from 20130410 to 20130415,no signal.Then flash 20130410 version back,signal was OK.check setting ----about the phone,it was still:cm-10.1-20130415-NIGHTLY-i9300.
Possible wrong modem wrong csc wrong APN settings wrong IMEI are the usual answers to this common question .

hi there ive recently got my hands on a s3 there was one issue when i call people it dosnt ring and people can pick up to it and there will be no sound (it was working for a few days) anyways i decided to root my device and put avatar on it ive made the mistake of changing my modem and it now has no signal at all and no apns (ive tried to put apns in and it wont let me) anywho i have also noticed that i dont have a baseband anymore any suggestions?

download a I9305 baseband and flash it I guess, you should maybe as in the I9305 Q&A section as the people there might know more.

my phone is also with Unknown baseband and it wont connect to the mobile network. It is not a problem of the sim as the same works on other phones. I tried to restore the original firmware/do a software update but i cannot connect to Kies and over Wifi the upgrade is failing with a generic error of Processing failing.
This has happened after I rooted the phone with Odin.
I know that restoring the baseband could fix it but how do I go about it? Could you point me to the right instructions on how to get it back to life? For instance where do you get the basebands and then how do you flash the phone ?
Read the stickied modem threads .
But i suggest you flash the stock firmware through Odin .
Its all in the stickied basics .

If you got an unknown baseband usually a re-flash of the original firmware solves it, you can download them on know websites as for instance sammobile.com. How to flash a ROM or baseband/modem please have a look in the FAQ thread and stickies. You can find a collection of modems in the General section's baseband/modem thread.

For my I9305 i tried to flash the original firmware I9305XXBMF1_I9305EVRBMF1_EVR (The UK version for EE) but still the baseband is unknown and the phone is unable to connect to the network. It looks like i need to actually install a Baseband rather than flashing with the firmware (still not 100% sure on the difference and which on excludes the other for what)
I am reading the FAQ but i might want to wait for this before using Odin again.

You are going to brick your phone if you flash things without understanding them.
Go to general forum and read the sticky post, especially efs 'know this stuff'.
Flashing a pit file WILL brick your phone.
When you flashed 4.3 you upgraded to efs v2, there is no way back. You can only use EMGx and later modems now, find a later modem that will work in your country, either with 4.1 or 4.3.
Edit. Backup your efs, perform a factory reset, flash your 4.1 country rom then an EMG modem.

What you`ll need is a new version of 4.1.2 with a mg4 baseband or latest, the 4.3 rom changed your efs folder format. If you want to stick with your 4.1.2 go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43946365&postcount=15 and flash that emergency.zip (mg4 baseband), it should do the job.

last time i had flashed my galaxy s3 i9300 to the leaked official android 4.3 , after updated battery drain fast so i decided to downgrade to official 4.1.2 , but after i downgrade IMEI lost and show emergency call only , and something is showing on the homescreen . I really need some help

Hi Everyone,
I am typing this query under severe worry about my galaxy s3.I am dying for any help experts would be able to provide please.
I had 4.2.1 stock ROM installed on my s3 and im a very frequest visitor to xda for custom roms.
I downloaded the Android revolution 40 ROM for S3 and installed it after taking a backup of my stock ROM using recovery
When i booted into the new 4.3 revolution i was getting the error " not registered on network".
I searched the threads here in xda and did everything like ariza patch and flashing mg4 modem but even now the phone was not able to register to network Airtel
the most strange part is i get full signal,I have baseband and also IMEI still it doesnt connect to network
now the most strange part.If anyone calls me they are able to get the ring but im not getting any notification and the phone is idle.
I tried to search for network from mobile networks but it gave msg as "error when searching for network"
I took the phone to Samsung service centre and they told me they will reinstall 4.1.2 and it will work
I waited for 2 hrs and they told me its done.I put the simcard in and again i have same "not registered on network error"
Im sure they dont know how to sort this issue and the only thing they did was reinstall firmware which did not help
Im very afraid now that my mobile is permanently gone and i feel very bad for this
I hence request the experts to help me and bring my device back to normalcy which will releive me of stress mentally.
Please help ASAP.

Hi Sir,
Many thanks for youre reply.
Today i got a call from the Samsung Service Centre that they are unable to fix the "netowkr not found problem"
They told me that there is some problem with the motherboard and it will cost 9000INR which is approx 155 USD to change the motherboard
They told me that is the only way the phone can get the network back and there is no other option.
I read your reply and I will download stock 4.1.2 from sammobile and flash with odin at home and flash the patched MG4 modem today.
That is my last hope as i cannot afford 155 USD for the motherboard as it is 1/3rd the price of my mobile.
They din charge me anything and gave my phone back.they have installed 4.1.2 stock I9300DDEMG2 modem and build number I9300XXEMH4.
I will post tomorrow what is the stauts of my phone.

Hi Everyone,
I would like to inform you all that finally I have revived my S3 and it recognizes the network now.
I flashed the patched modem on my stock Indian firmware and my IMEI became 0049....
I found out that my SGS3 was bought in UAE by my cousin and hence i downloaded the 4.1.2 stock UAE firmware and flashed it.
Again no signal and no network
Finally as a last step before giving up i again flashed the patched modem and restarted the phone and it connected to network
My baseband is back,IMEI is back to normal,able to connect to network and everything works now
The only glitch now is that the serial number is 000000
I dont think it affects the phone in anyway.
Aslo one more question,can i update from OTA software updates in Samsung or again my phone will have "no netowkr problem"

OTA updates only available to unmodified handsets, running unrooted stock rom, recovery etc. All this and more is in the general forum, sticky threads -go read them.
