Help porting cyanogenmod to huawei y210-0100 and 0151 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I'm new to this forum but not new to android and how it works to a certain extent I am by no means a pro but I know my way around I would like to port cyanogenmod to a huawei y210-0100 and the 0151 this phone is cheap and fairly new it has a 1ghz snapdragon cpu and 256mb of ram which is where the issue lies I'm not sure if porting cyanogenmod 7 to it will free more ram but I'd like to try and port it anyways so if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it thanks in advance

[Q] why is android laggy

Hi I have a question why is android buggy I mean when I compare my s2 to my dad's old iPhone 3gs it's still laggy why is that I've searched why is it like that and found out it's because of the ui rendering but it should be fixed with ICS and JB so why is it still laggy while the iPhone never lags at all
Thanks in advance

The reason is that iOS is designed for the iPhone hardware. Apple only has one phone, with a set hardware configuration. Android has to work with many different hardware configurations, so it uses generic drivers for everything. Newer end Android phones have virtually no lag as well. If you run the right rom on the S2 it won't lag either.
OK what rooms do you suggest for me that has no lag bear in mind please that I have the G model I don't care if it's going to be a GB ROM or ICS or JB as long as there is no lag at all also I read that android will never have no lags because of the ui rendering because it uses the main thread and doesn't use a secondary thread and it's set to normal priority while iOS sets priority to real time so is it true that android will never be bugless or not (I hope not because I really like an android phone more than an iPhone)
Thanks in advance

Actually, IOS is also "laggy" when you install some new IOS on the old device. My iPod Touch started to lag after I upgraded from IOS 2.0 to IOS 4.3, and battery life decreased dramatically.
OK I know that iOS lags when you install a new version on an older device berceuse I did it with my dad's old iPhone 3GS when iOS 5 came out but that's because the hardware it self can't stand it and if it's all hardware compatibility can you do some thing in android os so it can work better lag less make it work Better with the hardware
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Here...o-remain-like-that-in-the-near-future_id24434 plus in this web page I found that android was laggy because of ui render so what's with that can some body explain it to me
Plus is android laggier than iOS because of the many options and customizations you have so the system is more complex
Thanks in advance

So as I read this is why android is laggy and that's why it's gonna stay like that it turns out for android to be completely smooth it has rewrite the UI framework and that means rewriting every app in the android play store and that will take about a year
Finally I know why android is laggier than IOS
Thanks in advance

Yes android still has a chance anyway thanks for answering me and yes I don't know anything about development (that's why I started this thread)and also the reason I didn't ask any developer is because I don't know any developers other wise why would I start this thread and no one seemed to answer my questions at all but since I know that the UI stuff is wrong I'm back to my original question why is android kinda laggy compared to IOS and don't tell it's because apple only has one device to focus on while android has alot plz explain more

To sum it up in basic words, Android uses generic drivers. Apple has to make software for only a specific hardware, Thus their drivers, screen res. etc. they put is only for a specfiic hardware therefore reducing lag... android is expected to work on lots of phones, thus everything is approximate.. Also because android handles more complex tasks such as widgets, live wallpaper etc. Which use up much of the gpu, only little left for other tasks... while ios's gpu has nothing to render except a bunch of icons, so the gpu stays free and is ready for the next action..
Hope this cleared your doubts :highfive:

For iOS, the safe point is the dual core cortex A9 apple A5 chip for a reatively lag free experience even with the most demanding games 2013 titles+ and anyone who says the S2 wouldn't lag is a lier.
Such example is the iPad 2/Mini/4S
The safe point of android is a quad core a15 chip for a reatively lag free experience.
That's because android requires faster hardware to make up for the unoptimised generic drivers.
Such example is the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2013

Good point
I knos this is old but my old sensation never lagged , had many roms and stuff on it, also played lots of nova with it,
I got nexus 4 now Anyway
Also i see that iPhone 5s lags,
Even when it doesnt i guess sloe animations cover it ! Takes a year for animations to finish xD
Also iPhone screen res is extremely low so it doesnt need much power also ios has no features to use cpu xD
Anyway i don't know brefore sensation or desire hd but phones i saw after desire hd didnt lag, expect Samsung phones :S even s4 lagged, i saw s3 for test somewhere , SO FREAKING LIQUID SMOOTH lol
Also sometimes user faults make phone lag or bloat war

Can You Dev for the Samsung Dart. Just go to Github and type it in, source under DashBlack. There are also some CM7 roms for it so you can port, located at MadTeam forums. Development has really slowed down and it would help if you could port just one rom for it. Just Google CM7 Samsung Dart. If you could build ICS or Jellybean for it that would be AWESOME!! Doesn't even have to be stable, just make it boot
build cm7.2 for our poor broadcom chip...

It may happen. When a CM version is released, then some of the awesome devs here may port it. They have done an awesome job porting Jelly Bean so it is not that far fetched!

too difficult too see android 4.4 for our device.. there are 4.2 and 4.3 before kitkat and they are still not here as an android version rom..
but not sure
i believe the most active developer of most of the kernel and rom is no longer that active. while it is good to see kitkat on our mini phone i highly doubt it would even be possible. if its possible you might be looking at a very slow phone due technical constraints of using the updated os
But we can use jellybean.
I know kitkat is better than jellybean

don't think so... the problem is always drivers, and the low specs... let's face it... we love this little device, but is too old.
Hey Guys, Lets Ask nAa To Develop MiniCM Kitkat(4.4) For Our Tiny E10i and U20i...
It would be cool since they say KitKat use less memory, but I guess drivers are hard to find for this tiny device.
Kitkat actually using a RAM compression, like KSM, compcache (a.k.a zRAM), JIT and this is already in CM7 era, before Kitkat
For more info:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...rt-to-devices-with-as-little-as-512mb-of-ram/
Also, this is need a big and fast cpu cycle, so IF your device can handle @ 1Ghz it's not even enough, because ARMv6 (65nm) vs latest ARMv7 (45nm, 28nm on A-15)
And Google already leaving ARMv6 for Android support and for developing Kitkat, we need to hack many System in Android to working in our chipset
I'm happy, because we can run 4.1.2 on X10 Mini
But, for Kitkat, I think we must buy a new device
=)

OK sorry for asking
Nice
Who knows ?
Let's wait until Google releases it to AOSP.... Hopefully some one will make at least a booting build for us.. HOPEFULLY
Also I am curious how the phone will perform with all these animations everywhere... HOPEFULLY -again- it performs well...
I am almost certain that Android Lollipop will arrive for our S II. Its such a great device and not outdated by any means ( Mali-400MP4 GPU - quad core gpu-think about it), but the concern may be the updated drivers, if i am correct. BUT the latest Android One smartphones also have a similar GPU (Mali-400), but i wonder if its the same, and hopefully the drivers can be backported to S II.
We're waitin' 4 ya, Lollipop!
