Seeking case that balances solid protection w/o being too bulky? (some listed inside) - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I have been going back and forth for two weeks now with different cases for the Note 3.
My local store had the Note 3 Otterbox version in stock.
While this is reportedly less bulky, I found it to be more bulky than I had hoped after opening up the box and checking it out.
The screen protector portion did look better than the one that came with the Otterbox Defender case I got with my old EVO 4G LTE.
I tried it and ended up getting a Seidio case instead.
My need is something that offers good protection against drops without being bulky.
My main choices (open to other suggestions), given that I likely want a (solid) belt clip holster (might consider one without a holster) , are
Seidio Dilex case with belt clip holster (i.e. I would buy the combo)
Ballistic SG Maxx (comes with a belt clip holster)
Otterbox Defender (also comes with a belt clip holster)
I may end up rethinking getting a belt clip holster to expand my options or if I think the holster poses a risk *, in which case the following might be interesting
Urban Armor Gear (UAG)
Otterbox Commuter? (haven't researched this much yet)
Dilex (again, but without the holster this time)
If I do go with a holster, the Seidio Dilex combo may get the nod, since it MAY offer a balance between size (not too bulky) and protection, although I would want to be sure it would indeed help prevent damage if I were to actually drop my Note 3 from a little under 6 feet (~ ear height).
Any others I am missing / should be considering?
Thanks in advance!
Footnote to explain asterisk
* May decide against holster if I think keeping my N3 in a holster could pose a fall risk / getting it knocked out if someone brushes up against me during my train ride, given its size and weight, especially if I am running for a train etc.
EDIT -
I am also now considering the Trident Cyclops (which also features a built-in screen protector).
Strangely, the Cyclops is thinner than the Aegis, even though the Trident Cyclops series has been compared to the Otterbox Defender series and the Aegis series has been compared to the Commuter series...
http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2013/11/11/best-samsung-galaxy-note-3-cases-for-tough-protection/
Hopefully this helps since I have not seen much about these cases.

Bought Cyclops Amazon reseller
I purchased the Trident Cyclops.
I first placed an order from the manufacturer but they are on the other side of the country and may not get it to me in time.
I then placed an order on Amazon from a reseller one state over from me (reseller has 94% rating - I did not see anything about fakes in the verbiage of the user reviews, one even thanked the seller for sending an original, and description says brand new, ships in retail packaging").
Is there any real concern with potential fake Trident cases on Amazon? The Amazon price was only $5 less than MSRP (did it for the much faster shipping), so I suspect it is legit (real Trident) but after reading about fake Otterboxes, I am being extra careful.
Hopefully it is just a case (no pun intended) of them having bought a decent quantity from a wholesaler and hence selling them slightly below MSRP.
I suppose I could buy another case directly from the manufacturer and compare the two once the second one arrives.
I could then return the Amazon one if it does turn out to be fake, but buying a second version of the case just to check would be a lot of extra effort that might be overkill.

I just ordered the Seidio Dilex combo for my Note 3 today. I have had Otterbox Defenders and Commuters both for other devices in the past. I find the Defender too bulky especially for a Note 3. I saw some YouTube videos of the Seidio Dilex combo and it looks solid. I have read tons of reviews from people who bought the equivalent Seidio case for their Note 2's which at the time was called the Seidio Active. It is less bulky than the OB Defender and provides adequate protection. I want as little bulk as possible and also the fact that Seidio's case was $30 cheaper partly due to using USPS for shipping instead of OB's FedEx. I am in Canada and don't want to find out I will be dinged with International Brokerage fees from FedEx in addition to duty/taxes.

I was case hunting at the mall, and I have got to say the commuter has come a long long way from even the NOTE 2. First, it does not feature an awkward back. Second, It feels very very natural in your hand & is slim compared to previous generation otterbox cases. It did not throw the "Omg so much bulk" look onto the phone like the commutters did with the N2 and so on so I am very pleased this time around it made protection look sexy. Bestbuy was complaining about how they didnt have stock yet when I did go looking for it but radioshack had just received their shipment when I was asking for it (go figure). It was $44 there, which to me is worth it.

The otterbox defender is surprisingly slim this time around. I've owned defenders for other phones that made it a big brick.. but this one is the best one I've ever seen. The rubber is of much higher quality than the other defenders I've used and the case design is super impressive. especially that home button they put up front, makes it flush with the lip.

Matty mo's review: Seidio active case (black)

So I wanted to start out this review by saying, that when I originally bought my Evo 3D, I had purchased an Otterbox case which they sell at Sprint for it as well. I am a bit neurotic when it comes to my phones and always have to have them protected. I had the Otterbox on till the day I received my Seidio Active case from the great people of Seidio to try out. To be honest, I was actually going to use the Seidio case for a week and then go back to the Otterbox, but actually I just got back from Sprint, I just returned the Otterbox.
I have to say that in my opinion this Seidio case has the Otterbox beat hands down. The grooves that the Active case has for your fingers and the material they use for the silicone underlay just feel better. I compared the Otterbox to the Active case and when it comes to size, the Otterbox in my views is bigger and bulkier, but it seems that the Seidio case more protection. The silicone on the Otterbox feels like its half the amount used on the Active case, it’s a flimsier feel then Seidio’s. Now you would think because the Seidio case is smaller, it would give you less protection, but I feel that my phone is much more protected.
Another benefit with the size of the Seidio Active case, is that it feels much better in the pocket, however with both phones there is a bit of resistance when taking it from the pocket due to the silicone, but it happens with all silicone based cases. The only real downside I have seen with the Active case when using it for the past couple of days is that the silicone attracts lent from your pocket, but can easily removed with a wipe of a cloth.
The main thing that I am happy about, and have read in other reviews of the case is the protection the case provides to the camera. I had recently bought a TPU case from online and returned it immediately after seeing that the case lined perfectly with the camera casing, leaving it open to scratches and marks.
Another big thing that is a benefit with this case, compared to the Otterbox, is that all the cut outs for the power button and charging ports line up perfectly. I noticed that on the headphone jack on my Otterbox it was cut out incorrectly leaving me to have to jam the headphone jack into place. Not with the Active case, everything lines up perfectly. The silicone is cut to an exact precision. I know that the ports don’t have a cover like the Otterbox, but I actually prefer this, its an easy access and most of the time, I am prepared for those covers to break off in time, giving the phone a cheap look.
I know that some are disappointed that the case doesn’t come with a built in screen protector like the Otterbox but not I. I love that it doesn’t, I feel that the built in protectors have a more rubbery feel to them then other protectors. I would personally recommend the Screen Guards from Seidio; they are smooth like glass and fit to a tee.
In an overall judgment I give the phone a 10/10. There is not one thing I would change about this case, I love it more then anything. It looks great and feels even better. I would highly recommend this case to anyone who is in the market for a new case. Not only are you buying a great case, you are buying it from a great company that is willing to go that extra mile and help you out when it is needed, whether it is a return or replacement, and this type of customer service just gives me that little extra push to buy Seidio then any other company.
Looks just like the Innocase Rugged( minus the inner 2-piece hard shell) that I used on my Evo 4G before going to the Ballistic HC. How much is this case and who all sells it? Hope to be getting my 3D in the next couple weeks and may just get this case to go on it. My Innocase Rugged held up great, just replaced it with the Ballistic HC based on looks....
Still torn though honestly, I like the fact that the Otterbox covers the camera area better

Looks nice man love the otter box defender keeps the ports covered . I was thinking about the convert combo looks cool tho heard bad things about the rebrand from breast buy folks said it was cheap feel and broke at times for folks camera flap was kinda gay folks were sayin it had a bad feel .
If u test the convert combo out let me know to me the otter box defender looks way and feels better then what breast buy has out sexy and smooth.
When trident and ballistic come out with the kraken and aegis from trident will be sweet and the tank from ballistic will be sweet .
Yeah, i like the port covers but on the otterbox case i had for less then a week, the port covers already started to rip before returning it which is a downside... thats why i like having no port covers, its in preparation of when it does fall off!
and just so you know, this is the Active Case, made by Seidio.
Agree 100% with OP. Returned Otterbox Defender (too bulky, hard to type) returned Otterbox Commuter (felt thin, cheap, low quality, rubber not tight)
Bought Seido rebranded as Platinum from Bestbuy same as OP (except mine is black rubber with white back.) Rubber is almost TWICE as thick as Otterbox, way tighter on phone and just feels much much better. Better grip, better weight (and +1 on appearance)
it was $37.88 at bestbuy, same price as my Otterbox commuter refund.
Totally satisfied, would recommend 100%, would buy this PT/Seido again tomorrow if I had to.
Edit...and no power slot cover which is a +1 since it eliminates the extra step pain in the a.. and seemed unnecessary anyway. Can of aerosol air blast removes and dust or lint from that port in 2 seconds
...nice upgrade from hero
I'm a Seidio fan.
The only problem I ever saw personally with the active case was the corner pieces breaking easily. I had a couple of them and experienced the same problem. Otherwise...nice case.

Which Case Do You Reccomend for Atrix?

I wanna buy a case for my Atrix. My budget is small (around $5-$10).
So which one would you reccomend me?
Thanks!
I like the basic TPU cases. They don't add too much bulk and don't collect dust, but protect the phone from dings and scratches. They also have a lip around the front, so if the phone is set on a flat surface the screen won't actually touch the surface. It will make your phone somewhat warmer though, but pretty much all cases will probably do this, and it probably won't protect your phone as well as some of the larger cases. The case I use is $2.86 shipped from amazon and fits perfectly. I also have an otterbox but use the TPU case since its smaller, and doesn't collect dust like the otterbox. I know a lot of people like the otterboxes though. The jelly silicone cases are also dust collectors and tend to stretch after a while so I would advise avoiding any of those. If you look through this accessories forum you will see a lot of threads about cases that usually have reviews and pictures, so I suggest you read through some of those threads and find a case that looks good to you and sounds like what you are looking for from the reviews.
I would also suggest getting a screen protector. While the atrix does have gorilla glass, it is not truly unbreakable or unscratchable. While some may argue that its not really necessary, it costs a few dollars and has the potential to protect your phone's screen from scratches.
Great! Btw can you give me the product link you bought from Amazon?
I found this one: http://www.amazon.com/MOTOROLA-ATRI..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1321000892&sr=1-3
But it says its a Gel Case (I don't TPU & Gel Cases are the same or not! )
If you need a strong case for a low price (there's better out there but well outside your price range) you can get a refurbished Otterbox Defender for $12 shipped:

Edit: Yes, I bought one from these guys. It's legit.

I just don't feel comfortable buying a refurbished one
Mine's fine. I even broke the holster clip and Otterbox is sending me a new one. My point is that if there's something wrong with it their warranty will cover it. It's a good way to save money and maximize your phone's protection.
Besides otterbox isn't minimal in size! It needs some extra space around the phone which makes it bigger! I don't like it. I like a minimal one yet that would protect my phone. Just like roswellkidd says. TPU cases are good
Bestbuy.com is selling the Otterbox Impact case for $3.75 with free shipping.
I'm not trying to be an Otterbox spokesman, I'm just fishing you some good deals.

Thanks! Maybe I'd buy it now!
The Impact case isn't as strong as the Defender refurb I listed earlier, but this is a lot cheaper and will most definitely save your phone from drops.
Should I go with a TPU case or this case? This still looks bulky! Besides, I think this won't perfectly fit into my pocket!
It depends on what your real need is. The Otterbox cases are for people who expect to drop their phone more often than others. I drop my phone at least once a day on hard surfaces and/or from insane heights (I'm a CATV installer that's clumsy with his phone). For a general user, the TPU case would be fine if you're not expecting to drop it a whole lot. It's also more fashionable, it won't make your phone look like it just Hulked out.
Personally, I'd keep a cheap Otterbox around in any case, you might need it if you're going to do anything daring. At least it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an Otterbox on a phone that may fall out of your pocket on a rollercoaster at Six Flags (happened to me without an Otterbox... I had to bury the phone).

I'm on this group. I take good care of my phone. Besides, I can live without case. Just need it to make it more durable. So I'd go with a TPU case. Thanks for helping me to take my decision. As I'm a teenager style does matter for me

My wife's probably at least twice your age and we still have to stylize her phone so I have to look at aesthetics every time I order a case as well
for your price range, you should just grab the refurbished deals posted.
or save up money and get a real case.
wow sorry I didn't get back earlier, I am actually too new to post links, but if you type in "atrix TPU case" into amazon you will see the TPU cases, that gel case you posted looked like a silicone case not a TPU case. Mine was the "smoke grey cruzer argyle" TPU case that is currently $2.86 with free shipping, although all five or so of the top results look like they are essentially the same, just different colors.
I hope I didn't talk you out of an otterbox in my first post, I personally was not satisfied with mine, but as you can see here most people love them. I also have never dropped my phone, so my case is basically just to protect it from dings and scratches if I ever do drop it. I don't expect it to protect my phone in a ten foot drop, but considering the highest I would ever have the chance of dropping it from in my daily routine is just a few feet, Ill take the slimmer case even if it does have less protection.
I, like many others, put in a vote for a TPU case... I have used the Otterbox Impact case, the rugged battery cover, and the TPU case...and the TPU case is by far may favorite. It offers ok drop protection, but mainly I love it becuase it's easy to get out of my pockets while the Impact or any rubberized case sticks to pockets making it really hard to get out in the car or while sitting in general. I think the atrix is a little too small without a case and the TPU case makes it slightly larger but not too large...it's the way to go.

Trident Cyclops Review

Hello all.
Just like any other samsung note 3 owner who are obsessed with the safety of our beloved note3 whenever we had to go to work sites.
I came from note 1 where I used trident aegis. Which had served me well but the port covers are a little bit flab-ish. So mental note (no pun intended) not going to get trident aegis for note 3
Then I switched to note 2 where I used otterbox defender to which also had served me well but the rubber on the outside had given up on me way too early as it got loosen. So another mental note (again no pun intended) not going to get otterbox defender for note 3.
Then off too galaxy s4 where I used trident kraken. The case is perfect since the rubber is in the inside but the problem it occurred to me is that the metal stand behind the case is not even making the case rocking when I placed my s4 on the table. So another mental note not going to get this case for my note3.
After countless hours of searching and numerous number of cases ive bought I stumbled across trident cyclops.
The case is slim yet fully secure my note3. Slimmer than the defender and kraken. Much more secure than the trident aegis cause it has built in screen protector. In terms of screen sensitivity I have already put on screen protector prior and added the built in screen protector it doesnt reduce my screen sensitivity. Spen works flawlessly
After done putting this case on it the feels is just nice. Not too thick not too thin. Does feels comfortable in hands. All ports and holes were perfectly cut. Easy to install as well.
Overall the case feels solid and my note3 looks secure

Thanks a lot! Great timing - Mine should be arriving today
Thanks for the great review and photos!
I can't wait to get mine today.
I ordered my Trident Cyclops at the end of last week after a lot of research as well (found it in an online article during a search a few weeks ago but initially passed due to researching other contenders and due to it not having a belt clip holster).
I then changed my mind and decided that for my active commute to and from work, I might be safer having it in my pocket since, given its bulk especially, it could get knocked off my waist if I am using the holster, especially if I have a coat on.
Among many others, I narrowed it down to the following top contenders, along with the Trident Cyclops.
The primary reasons why I passed on each of the others are listed below.
Otterbox Defender - I saw it in Best Buy and actually checked it out (it was not in the box so I could hold it in my hand).
Great protection (like Ballistic below).
I found it to still be overly bulky despite reports that it is less bulky than the Note 2 version.
I did not like the look nor the belt clip holster materials and bulk.
Ballistic SG Maxx (with included holster and belt clip) - Loved the protection and removable screen protector.
I did not like the bulk of the four corners and felt given the case overall is already not small to begin with that these might make it harder to get out of my pocket quickly if I get a call.
Seidio Dilex & belt clip holster combo (no differences from line formerly known as Active I believe) -
Love the look and minimal bulk. Also love the belt clip holster (had the same for my last phone). I think it is a best in class holster clip.
Was not sure about it being protective enough to handle a serious drop onto concrete.
I believe someone posted that the metal kickstand appears to cause S pen interference when used on the portion of the screen above the kickstand when the stand is not in use (i.e. when the stand is tucked in - closed position).
I ended up choosing the Trident Cyclops since it offers military grade protection, even against a decent amount of rain etc.yet appears to be lighter than the Otterbox Defender (need to know if Otterbox weight includes the belt clip holster in which case I would need to subtract that somehow for a fair comparison) and, as per the official measurements, is slightly less bulky than the Defender (might be more than just slightly - on the Otterbox specs they have two sets of measurements. I need confirmation as to whether the lower set of measurements is just without the belt clip holster or...).
I also liked the looks of the Cyclops more but that was not the tie breaker.
I might still get one of the above (Defender or Ballistic, think the Dilex is not quite enough protection for my comfort level and lifestyle [as in commute]).
The deciding factor would be if I end up finding / deciding that I do prefer a belt clip holster after all (if I end up not liking having to get it from my pocket when I get a phone call, or if I feel it could get damaged in my pocket from bumping up against counters etc. although I think the holster might be riskier).
But first I am going to try the Cyclops for a while.
trident cases
As much as the Cyclops is a great case- I opted for their tank-like Krakken case.
I used to have their Aegis case for my galaxy S2..called them up and they gave me a great deal on the Krakken with kickstand.:good: The Cyclops offers a lot of protection, for a great price.

Hello
How are your cyclops? Im using it almost a week now. And cyclops havent yet fail me. By far the best case yet in my opinion. So simple yet full of protection
Thanks rye, I just ordered a Trident Cyclops as well...With 35% off and free shipping (sale ends tomorrow)!
Here's a link for their Note3 products: http://www.tridentcase.com/products/search.aspx?cid1=328
I've been looking at the Otterbox Defender, but the price is just too steep for what I'm willing to pay for a case (plus I don't care about the belt clip, so that's a part of the expense for something I'll never use). This case gives me similar protection, has a lanyard, available in hulk green / black (my fav color combo) and it's got rain protection.
JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS...THE 35% OFF PROMO CODE IS GOBBLE35. I just ordered the Perseus AMS Case for $9.72.
Got email late yesterday that the case has been shipped, so it took them 2 days just to ship it...That's a little disappointing with the slow shipping out, but it's now on its' way.

I got my Cyclops today and wonder if you got a different one than I did? The integrated screen protector on mine SUCKS! It got all kinds of moire'ing and the screen drag is significant...Particularly using the S-Pen! It's not smooth at all, like you have to push or pull the tip around instead of the usual silky smooth gliding.
Yes, technically all the functionality works, but that drag is significant enough to make me want to remove the screen protector...Thereby killing the seal it has with the front-face bracket, which also in turn kills the rain protection.
All in all, I'm DISAPPOINTED with this case as a package, I really like the shell itself...But they failed quite badly with the screen protector portion for me. I'll get some pictures up soon to show the moire issue. I even tried taking it apart again and really cleaning the areas and the moire issue was just as bad the second time around.
cyclops..&.krakken vs defender.
1-I got the Krakken for the Defender like protection, but at the wallet friendly price..( NOt 60.00 - ouch.but under 40.00 bucks.)
2- I like the construction enough to make it my daily case- with protection to spare.. Yet, as mentioned above, the s pen functionality may be affected- I havent seen that, but because its technically NOT applied to the screen, that may be a factor- BUT also, I recall seeing a tech review where they removed the plastic screen protector from the defender face plate, and utilize a stick on screen protector ( aka sgp, steinheil. and many others in same category.)
this also gets rid of rainbow effect. and allows clear view yet still protected.
3- I thought of doing this too with MIME feather glass under the KRAKKEN case , and face piece, thin enough to fit under( I emailed Iloome, they said .40mm tempered glass will NOT fit under the face. the flex is .15mm, and will undoubtedly offer improved functionality vs the plastic protector built into the cyclops and Krakken face plates. The removal will void the warranty of that part, but, if you have a spare..then....
I dropped my Note 3 with Krakken by accident onto the street from my waist , and it bounced once, and upon inspection..NOT 1 single speck of a scratch..Confidence inspired..Bulky? somewhat..but its a tank !! Did I mention I also find it easy to use, Kickstand on the back, flaps for ports are sturdy..not flimsy. and Hummer like..TOUGH and attractive. protecting my black NOTE 3..The only part Not to my liking, is the smallish and finicky holster. I'm working on a holster hybrid...
Is the screen protector easily removable from the front bracket?

I would think so. I took it out of my otterbox on a previous phone since it was scratched bad and just used a screen protector.

I read a comment on Amazon saying that it's pretty easy to take off. I just ordered mine from Newegg and will be taking mine off because I have a glass screen protector. By the way Newegg has some pretty good prices especially for the Kraken series. Only $23 shipped for the Kraken but I was worried that the extra plastic at the top would cause my glass screen protector to crack. And if you have a 20% code it makes the deal even sweeter. $18 shipped for the Cyclops makes it a good deal
I wish I got a beefier case than my Spigen Neo and Bounce. Never dropped the phone from a great distance and I noticed a small crack in the trim right above the S-Pen (may be a weak spot in all these cases). I had a Trident Aegis on my Note 2 and my phone was damage free.

those are great prices, thanks for the link. I'll probably get the kraken case for those times more protection is needed (I'm offroad often). otherwise I'll continue to use the aegis since I really like it.

I ended up ordering the Trident Aegis because I didn't want to fuss with the screen protector on the Cyclops.

I loved the Aegis on the Note 2 but the one for the Note 3 was redesigned more towards the 2 piece otterbox commuter style. A online review said that the rubber was a dust/lint magnet. Only reason why I passed it for the cyclops.

Yea, I read about that. I didn't want to mess with the Cyclops because I wasn't planning to use another screen protector with it so I was wondering if there would be any gaps if I removed the one that was built-in. I'm guessing not but decided to play it safe by ordering the Aegis.

The Aegis for the Note 2 was excellent. It was slim and stylish with great drop protection. I wish they stayed with the 1 piece designe

imo this new design is great. still slim and light and definitely not a lint magnet. I ordered a Kraken (green like my aegis) for the times I need a little more dust/sand/water protection, otherwise the aegis will be on it all the time

[VIDEO] Otterbox Commuter Series Case for the HTC One Max - Unboxing / First Look

NOTE: I now have my little daughter around so you might hear random outbursts.
I only have two cases for the HTC One Max currently. Both are very popular. There's the Otterbox Commuter case as seen in this video and the Incipio DualPro. I purchased it from a retail Verizon Wireless store.
The Commuter is a little bit wider, taller, and thicker than the DualPro. It feels really tough, and I'm sure would protect this device for the highly active user. The port covers will deter most dust, debris, liquid form going directly in them.
I have to note that out of all of the Commuter cases I've owned, this is the hardest one to fit on the device. The rubber barely wants to align with the plastic. It's not a deal breaker. Most people would probably be turned off by the size more than anything else. The plastic does allow the case to slide in and out of pockets a little bit easier than if it was all rubber. Only draw back would be grip while holding the case, however it isn't that slippery if your hands are dry.
Available in black or glacier currently. Just like the Defender series case. Retail cost is $44.95.
At the time of the video, I couldn't find these on Otterbox's site. That's changed:

Nexus 6 Belt Case Thread

starting this because i know there are some of us out there who require such a case. Thought we could save each other some time and/or grief and report what's available, what's shipping, what ad hoc solutions we've found, etc.
here's what i've found so far:
i-blason: liked it on N5. ships nov. 25
http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Kick...=1415220229&sr=8-2&keywords=nexus+6+belt+case
fosmon: never heard of them. looks like i-blason. ships dec. 1
http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-STURDY...=1415220229&sr=8-7&keywords=nexus+6+belt+case
cellbee: never heard of them either. looks similar to the generic belt cases sold at verizon typically. ships nov. 25
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P1F0AX6?psc=1
supcase: i'll throw this one in here because it claims to be a belt case, but i see no evidence of this from either the pics or the description. ships nov. 29
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-...=1415220229&sr=8-1&keywords=nexus+6+belt+case
apparently this one is now shipping. first one to ship i believe

Good thread! I just pulled for the Moko. Not only is it supposed to be here Wed, it's a bit cheaper. I use a Steelie in the car and I don't like having the magnet on the phone and in my pocket so instead of having two cases I will just put the Steelie mount on the belt case clip and use it while in the car. For day-to-day I'll use the Moko and not have to worry about switching cases. I hope this works with Qi too.
The Steelie works great in the car as a mount. For the Moto X 2013 I can leave the case with the magnet on and NFC tap-to-pay works. With the OnePlus One, the magnet works great and NFC works but tap-to-pay will not work with the magnet in place. That means if I want to tap-to-pay I have to use a case without the Steelie. I think this Moko arrangement will work a lot better since I won't have to keep changing cases.
Just ordered the case from amazon referred to above.. For 6 bucks, free shipping with prime, and expedited delivery, it's worth giving it a shot. Seems to come in two parts, a protective case plus a seperate belt clip holster for sliding the device in and out of.

from the pics it looks to have a belt clip... the only thing im not to fancy on is the built in screen protector and its added size... everything else looks good IMHO
Seidio Convert
This case is not available or even announced yet, but I'm guessing it's probably in the works right now. In my opinion, Seidio makes the most rugged case for Nexus phones, called the Convert, which comes with a holster/belt clip. I had one for my N4, which got stolen :crying:, and currently have it on my N5 (pic below). If Otterbox had made their Defender case for my Nexuses, I probably would have gotten that instead. The Convert has no built in screen protector and is kind of pricey, but has major protection.
Seidio Convert for Nexus 5:
http://www.seidioonline.com/lg-google-nexus-5-convert-value-pack-black-p/bd5-hkr4lgn5.htm
seidio is mia. i ve emailed them a dozen times with nothing more than "we're looking into it". can't wait. got the moko case and it looks like a winner, esp for $2
I ordered the moko for 2 dolla. Mainly just for when I'm at work. I ordered a dbrand skin for the back too. Hopefully it won't interfere with the case fitting. If it does...the case was 2 dollars. Lol.
actually...that moko case is a damn fine case. looks like it will do everything i need it to do. of course, i don't have the fn nexus 6 yet to test it in the field, but it looks like it'll do the job just fine. best $2 case EVER...
I would love seidio to make a case for the nexus 6 but all I got was the generic response too. " we are looking in to it". Its too bad because I love their spring clip on their holsters. I looked into moko and unicorn beetle but didn't like the release of either if them. The spring clip from seidio is the best.
received the i-blason case today. i thought it was identical to the moko case but there are several key differences to note:
1. rubber section is far thicker and of a better quality than the moko. the moko was driving me crazy with the amount of dust it was attracting. this one is a much harder/more durable rubber. it's MUCH better
2. having said that, because its thicker, the buttons are a bit harder to press, particularly the power. works perfectly mind you, just takes a bit more effort to press
3. the hard shell is slicker than the moko. hopefully this will wear off soon as its fairly slippery as it stands now
4. the belt clip section is a clip in rather than a slide in. only got it tonight so i have yet to try it in the field. seems secure enough, though not as secure as the slide in of the moko. the advantage here though is i can take this out of the clip MUCH faster than the moko
5. if you have the moko, you can use this on the moko slide in belt clip if you prefer. i'm going to try the clip in holster for a bit to see how i like it
overall, a very solid alternative to the moko, particularly if you were getting annoyed by the cheap rubber collecting dirt
I got the SupCase Unicorn Beetle from amazon on sell for $12 taxes n shipped yesterday, actually received my nexus yesterday too. I got that price because the case wasn't out yet when I ordered it so it had them listed for $7.99 at the time.
So far I am very impressed with the quality. The built in screen protector is actually useful and doesn't hinder the screen at all. I did notice a bit of glare under certain lighting but nothing too annoying.
It does come with a belt clip and its a bit different from what I had on my note 2 but so far its functional and very sturdy product. Highly recommend.
well seidio finally has a nexus 6 page now. still coming soon and notify me crap, but its a start i guess

i really hope for a Seidio Dilex and holster combo!
Combination
I like to show off my Nexus and I have had too many bad experiences with belt clips with single clips. My combo is this Spigen case http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OH4I7UU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2SFKRF5TPZMT5 and this holster http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Holster-Pouch-Protector-Cover/dp/B00OX3Z89S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1419472114&sr=8-7&keywords=case+for+belt+nexus+6

Just ordered one. Cannot wait for it to arrive. I have had a UAG case on it since day one and I cannot take photos with the flash on. It leaves a smoky affect in the photos. How are photos with the flash on with the supcase?
seidio cases are shipping. black surface case/clip combo anyway. all other colors are coming soon still. just ordered mine

Please, if you have any other cases laying around, let us know if the holster would work with the Surface holster. On past phones, I know I could get other cases (not all) to work with Surface and Dilex holsters. I have the Supcase hybrid case now. If Amazon were selling the holster, Id buy it in a heartbeat to test, because I know I could easily return it to Amazon.
I got my Unicorn Beetle Pro this past monday and I'm impressed with the quality. The only real complaint that I have about it is that they didnt flatten out the back of the case so that the phone lays flat on a table or something. Most annoying thing ever to lay your phone on the desk and try to do something on it only to have it start wobbling away.
crackberry.com has the seidio active case for 31.95, ships 1/22, use coupon code JB15 for 10% off NOTE. The cases and holsters are sold seperately, great if you just want the holster, or just the case.
