Nope just a metal point which fits into the powercase. Nothing special about it at all to be honest.

No, it's not same the power cover one. It can't put in the power cover CP12.

Is that right, ok, I did wonder as the one I ordered from the sony site has its own case and loop, presumably to add to keys or something?

I'd like to know this as well.

The only thing I do know about it is it is a silly price. Sony are having a laugh.
Ryland.

That's been on UK store for awhile but just looks like an extended stylus
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

I dun see any need for this unless you are fingerprints phobic. :silly:

Took the plunge and bought for £13. The stylus itself is good, but the screen has a tendency to not recognize it sometimes (which I think is the stylus at fault) - the lanyard on the stylus is disappointing. So short that it won't fit into the lanyard loop on the phone. Seemed to defeat the object of having it there really.
All in all - good stylus but not work £13.

Ordered one. Will get it this week. The positive and only reason for me to get it is the lanyard that I can attach to my key ring so I will have it with me 24/7.

I think it's a phone/screen issue. My phone does not always recognize the touch when I use pencils etc.

Got it now. It does the job like any other pencil only it's portable which was the reason I got it in the first place.

One is included with the CP12 extended battery cover. I found the same result. I switched from a Note 2/Nexus 7 combo. I wanted just one device. When I was looking for a fine point stylus for the Nexus, I discovered the DAGI P508. It's similar to the Adonit Jot (small clear disc). It worked well there ands seems to be better than Sony's pointed stylus on the Ultra.

I got a CP12 but no stylus, so i'd like to get one.

Kindle DX Cases for GTablet

Someone posted in the huge @ss thread that they thought the Kindle DX was about the same size as the GTablet.
I went ahead and ordered this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Kindle-DX-Leath...&otn=4&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=5004332251969071237
I'm happy with it so far, the DX is about half and inch wider, height is okay, so it can slide around a bit. I put some stick on velcro on the case and on the GTab, it isn't going anywhere now. I think I'm going to have to use superglue for the velcro on the case though, it's felt lined so it won't stick on for long. The only thing is the top elastic band is close to the power button, maybe Roebeet's electrical tape solution is in order.
UPDATE: Oh, well my fake pleather case has ding in the edge now. Maybe I need to get some of that liquid leather. ;P Happy with the sizing, just need to find something more durable. Maybe I'll use some of that new fangled electrical tape I hear is the new duct tape.
Electrical tape is the new duct tape:

I need to do something like that, was thinking of a little piece of sticky backed foam, like 1/4 ince or so, think I have some perfect for that around here somewhere.
Hitting that power button is way to easy to do, need to mod the physical keys on the side somehow also, lol.
I found an iPad case on amazon for $14.95 that has good potential. go to amazon and search for "Acase Leather Flip Book Jacket/folio for Apple Ipad 3g Tablet/wifi Model 16gb, 32gb, 64gb (Black)" in Electroincs.

Mike, I'd be careful. I've looked at several ipad cases but the gtab is taller and not as wide as the ipad. Most I've seen dont fit unless it's a universal case.

I purchased a Solo Classic iPad/eReader portfolio case from Staples that was around $30.00. The downside is that the power button is covered by one of the soft cloth corner holders, but other than that it has worked fine.

I purchased form fitting leather case for kindle DX from ebay . The G tablet fit amazingly well in it. The only problem is that the upper left strap is blocking the charger plug .
Looks good!! Maybe a hole punch can make your life easier.

The band was tighter when I first got it (infact it was so tight that it keep randomly turn on my tablet). After a few days it loosen up so the problem resolve itself. I carry it around ,always rushing to class and it feel pretty secure imo.

I have the bamboo stylus from about a week and i love it more than the original graphic tablet i have.
But i still use fingers and touchpad on my tf101.
But in extreme case this winter i will use it
How does it feel? Heavy?

I think that Boxwave is the OEM for all these. I have the (identical) Targus version, and it works well. The only issue I have is that if I apply RainX to the screen, the pen detection is spotty until the RainX has worn a bit. Otherwise, it's quite useful.

Cuts down on fingerprints quite a bit (since I don't use a screen protector) and makes the surface extremely smooth when sliding your finger around. If the prints don't bother you -- they drive me nuts -- or you use the stylus the majority of the time, it's not worth the effort. Also, anyone with a screen protector in place definitely should not apply a product like that to the surface.
There are a lot of them from Dealextreme if you need.
Got one of these too, Targus branded. I just wonder who thought it would be a great idea to add the sharp metal ring so close to the tip. I use mine quite a bit, but I'm always a bit scared of writing at too much of an angle so the metal cuts into my precious glass.

I might have to give this a try. The fingerprints drive me nuts. This is a pretty brilliant idea .
does anyone who uses one of these pens have the invisiSHIELD on? because i have that on my asus and would hate to purchase one of these only to realize it doesn't work too well with the screen protector.
Edit: just bought one. works beautifully.
I have a targus branded one from walmart, and rain-x applied to the screen, and it works flawlessly. Way better than touch input and you can make use of that autocad sketchbook app... its really nice.
after having a fat end for a week, and reading your feed back, and playing with a few on screen writing programs..
plus also learning how to write chinese charactors.. I am keen to go a bit further with this.. and get a better one for sharper writing..
I am using a screen protector that I brought the day i got this thing.. and find it just as sensitive to writing with my pen.. as my Evo is with a screen protector..
I would love to take this a step further and have my chinese staff write on it.. then be able to have handwritten recognition going no so that I could then copy an past it in to a translator..

Cases for ZU

Hey now that this baby is finally out and some of us have gotten it in our hands, how are you gonna protect this beauty? Wallet? Soft/Hard skin? Naked?
I'm thinking of getting something similar to the sexy and thin wallet flip-cover that came bundled with the taiwain pre-order edition.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Rock-Stand-T...hone_PDA_Cases&var&hash=item20d5fc8367&_uhb=1
Or something simple just to prevent the back from scratching like this: (I have a black colored ZU it should look better than the picture) http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Thin-Hard-Ba...ll_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item232dfd0503&_uhb=1
All I know is that with a phone as monstrous as this, thin and lightweight cases are the only possibility as the phone is already approaching the limit of pocket-ability on it's own. Share your thoughts and finds guys!

Looks like large sized phones tends to have more flip cases than just shells. I'm not a fan of flips cases, prefer just shells/back-only casings.
The origin case from Sony (Malaysia) actually quite awesome.

How about any holsters? I'm thinking it might be easier to carry on my belt than it is in my pocket, and I prefer to use the phone without a case. So a thin horizontal holster might work.
It'll look very 90s, but I can live with that.

So it's like Sony Vaio's sheet battery? Sweet.
For the case, I'm inclined to buy the baseus cover.. The only downside is that looks like the magnetic charging port is blocked.. The nillkin hardcase seems to leave the corners more vulnerable, not to mention the a-lot-to-break screen.. But on the plus side it is very simple and sexy.

Actually I'm quite fond of battery cases. Yeah it may "defeat the purpose" of the ultra slim design of smart phones these days but to me, it gives me more "weight" and "grip" to the overall devise which I like :good:

Is there an official pen?

I tought i saw a sony stylus on some z ultra pics ages ago, anyone know where i can get this, id rather get theirs as im terrified of scratching the screen with non sony ones.
I'm pretty sure even sony official one (if it does exist) WILL eventually scratch the screen (even if the stylus didn't, something else will.. say, dust particles)... or I should say the lousy pre-applied shatterproof film instead of the glass screen. If you're really terrified of scratching the screen, apply disposable screen protector. I think there's no way around this on any smartphone unless somebody decided to use sapphire crystal (still they shatter)
I just picked up a couple of these.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-IN-1-Ca...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item5656adebda
I know you don't need the capacitive support, but it may come in handy if your paranoid about scratching the screen etc. Plus there's a ballpoint pen built in and you can retract the ballpoint and just use the metal tip if you want. Finally there is a clip on it so I'm hoping I can find a flip case which will have room for me to store it inside.

Hi, I have tried an Adonit Jot Pro capacitive stylus on mine and its awful! Just doesn't work properly at all. Just in case anyone was thinking of getting one
Was scribbling with a mechanical pencil.. then i realized, the other end of the pencil is a smooth round-edged metal (protecting cap for the small rubber eraser). Used it as a stylus... PERFECT
I use Samsung Galaxy S3 pen, it does work. Better than any stylus with round tip. It does have the rubber tip, but way smaller and harder. More comfortable to use...

where to find original stylus or a similar replacement?

I lost it and can't find it anywhere on web!! It's full of $hity useles capacitive stylus but if looking for genuine Sony hard-tip stylus... nobody sells it!

its very very thin :silly:
Just bought one from the Uk/European Sony store for £13.99 -> http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/products/accessories/stylus-es22/
Bought with the Music Receiver BM10 so I could get free express delivery
Likely alot of money for what it is, but I dont intend on buying the power case to get it for free.

I almost ordered! Then I discovered the shipping cost, $14.4 for standard shipping?? No way.

Yes the shipping is steep, but free if you spend over £50.
Ok if you want other items too.
My last items were shipped from Europe I believe to the UK, so I understood why delivery was so expensive, but still makes a £13 buy a no go, when shipping is as much!

What I want to hear is whether this "official" pen is less likely to scratch the screen (screen protector/anti-shatter film) than any simple pencil.
I already replaced my screen protectors like 5 times due to a pencil/pen/knife/key (all used just to demonstrate how it works to friends and colleagues) that scratched it (I could have left it on in most cases, but even the slightest scratch bugs me - I may have a bit of OCD I admit it-).
Anyway, try and put on a screen protector and draw freely on the Sketch app. Does it scratch it?
I was going to buy it, but then I thought that 23 euros (pen+shipping in Italy) is way more "Appleish" than I can bear.
If you could make a video that would be a treat.

I dunno about the anti shatter sheet as I removed mine. And it will not scratch no matter what you put on the glass.
The plastic will likely get scratched but if you removed it, nope.
