[NFC/Google Wallet Capable] Anker® 6400mAh Replacement Extended Battery - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I received this extended battery case from Anker this past Thursday.... and have been putting it through the tests. And I have to say that I LOVE IT! I use the hell out of my new Note 3, and yes I was getting wonderful battery use of of it, it still didn't quite make it through the day. That's where my Anker 6400mAh Extended battery kicks in.
Most of you who read this will agree... you micro-manage and tweak your battery setting on your devices. I did it on my S4 and now I found myself doing it with my Note 3. But using this new extended battery, I do not have to anymore. I still charge my device everynight, I just find that I don't have to worry about finding a charge outlet late in the day.
I did not do any scientific tests... but I ran this over the weekend without charging, with moderate to heavy use, and I got roughly 26 hours use until I hit 20%. That's using it heavy on Saturday all day (shooting photos, phone, game play). Went to bed without charging. Then using it yesterday for all day. Wataching my NFL app, and checking fantasy football scores all day.
Build quality is SOLID. I have had Anker batteries on all my smartphones, and they are built great. They are juiced as advertised.
The extended cover fits tight, and I still maintain access to all the posts. It doubles the width (thickness of the phone) but its not terrible in the hand. BIGGEST complaint..... the super glossy back! It is "slick" (slippery), and it is a HUGE fingerprint magnet!!!
I highly recommend this case to all you power users!

Did you happen to test out NFC by chance? Also, I wonder how likely it would be to use an extended Anker with the wireless charging mod. (Thinking out loud)

I'm curious how you came up with the "Google Wallet Capable" part?
Currently, Google wallet works with the Note 3, but you can't apparently use the touch payment part because Google Wallet has no access to the secure element in the phone (it is blocked from the app).

Please post more pics with the phone and the battery on .
Thanks

I don't think I mentioned anything about Google Wallet in my review. I have no idea if this case will work with that or not... I did not test it.

Your thread is titled nfc Google wallet capable?
Also does the phone bulge a bit with this battery? some users with the zero lemon say that the battery did cause some bulge, what abt this? Did you try any slim cases on with this?

3500mah with back cover for $13.99

I don't own one but if anyone is in the market for one. discount code is "evo3d3500mah"
http://www.handhelditems.com/premium-extended-battery-with-back-cover-3500-grade-cell-p-171410.html
what an incredible price! but I'm not sure if the battery is that good...

I ordered one. I will be pulling the sticker back to see if there is any indication that this battery is less than advertised just like on my thread about the ebay batteries I got that were supposed to be 1850mah and under the sticker it said 1000mah. I will report back when I get it and update this post with my findings.
I have been ordering stuff from Handheld Items for awhile now since their stuff are cheap and shipping is pretty damn quick.
I was thinking about ordering this as well but in the end, I decided against it because quite simply, most of them all seem to be fakes for batteries like this. I ended up just ordering from Seidio since I don't want to waste another 18.99. Of course, if someone can confirm this is actually what it says to be, I could probably return the Seidio or sell it
Looks to be the exact battery selling on ebay for around $8-12. How fast is shipping usually with these guys?
For those who can wait 2-3 weeks, here's the ebay option:
http://cgi.ebay.com/3500MAH-Extende...ccessories&hash=item3f0c5c0c07#ht_5017wt_1163
I bought an extended battery for my Evo 4G from that seller and it worked fine.
I usually get my items from them in like a week.
Ordered on the 5th and it arrived on the 9th. Not bad. I pulled the sticker off of the battery and no where does it have any thing stamped on the metal like some cheap batteries will have a much, much lower mah than the sticker says it is stamped on them. I just got. It's charging now. Give me a couple days and I'll post how it is lasing so far.
Thanks for your update housry23, please keep us posted with your results.
thanks and please keep us posted!!
I assume this provides full protection to the cameras?

Just got mine today. Haven't used it yet, but I can't use it with my external charger.
I got mine yesterday, charged it all night, so far it seems a little better (but maybe thats just me being hopeful). I'll keep testing it for a few days, wouldnt feel right making any claims until then, i have my doubts. Not sure i'll be able to deal with how big it is but if its actually a better/longer lasting battery, i may use it when i travel and stuff.
OK I've had mine a full week now and let me say, the honeymoon is over. After a few good charges this battery will have a 50/50 chance of NOT booting up and even if it does for some reason the power is so inconsistent that the phone seems to randomly cut off even at 98% power. I've recalibrated my phone a couple times and past the first couple days this battery has been horrible.
Sorry to hear that, are you going to request for an exchange? I could understand short battery life but to shut off.

That is why its 13.99....its ****ing crap. Quit being cheap asses and spend the money on decent ****. Its like computer PSU's, you get what you buy. Buy cheap, expect cheap ****.

^^wow that's pretty harsh, I can't justify paying +$80 for a battery. Plus the fact Ill probably be using a different phone by January. Mine should be here tomorrow, if its a dud, no big deal, Ill ask for a replacement. I hope I get a decent battery. Ill post what I think, although I don't think ill use it much since the stock gives me usually over 12 hours.
I have this combo from eBay.. charge gets better and better.. I typically have 50% left at the end if the day

Not too impressed with the battery life so far, I charged it up to 96% and went out. I lost 10% the first hour wile the phone was in my pocket. Im under clocked with the screen off 432/ conservative. That's pretty much the same or worse than the stock battery. I would expect a maximum of 5% drain in a hour while the phone is sleeping, and that's being generous. I know southern87, its "13.99 ****ing crap" lol. Ill give it a few days to see how it goes.
The back door is definitely more sturdier than the oem battery cover, but of course, not as pretty. I like the uniform shape over the funky sedio sloped cover. Now I just need a TPU case to fit the phone now.
Just to be fair, the more I use the battery the longer it goes between charges. So all in all its worth the few bucks if you are willing to deal with the extra bulk of the phone. It'll come in handy for times like camping, biking/hiking with the gps running, etc.

Extended Battery?

Does anyone know if Samsung is going to be putting out an official extended battery for the Galaxy S3? I don't trust the cheap "extended" third party batteries that are likely relabeled standard sizes with cheap cells, considering they're the exact same size, yet claim 1000+ mAh over the standard.
They did it for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, but I have no idea when that battery came out in comparison to the Galaxy Nexus's launch.
Any suggestions?
I just picked up the Hyperion extended battery and back cover.
first initial charge:
Almost 42 hours of use.
Just so you know, I loaded my s3 with as much load as I could:
Turned off auto bright set screen just past middle
Engaged all my "live" apps that Galway update, including eBay, tapatalk, xda pre., etc.
Turned on WiFi, blue tooth, data, and every possible battery trainer I could think of and put all my emails to push.
I you tubed the hell out of it, looked at some porn vids, played the greatest game ever made for android as much as possible, basically tried to get to zero as fast as possible.
42+ hours and then it went time red.
Hyperion is a very reliable battery.
Something else weird:
My WiFi signal was stronger.
Could be a placebo thing but I will report back again Friday, as I need to charge for 8 hours again. It is suggested to drain to red and charge fir 8 hours straight a few times.
Hyperion ftw !
Fyi 4000 ma.
Lol I even painted the battery cover world rally blue to match my scooby

Nice car, I have a black '04. :good:
Do you have (or could you please post) a picture of the phone with the extended case sitting on a flat surface? I'm curious how much it makes the phone stick up. Also, have you come across any (protective) cases for extended battery backs?
that doesn't look any thicker than my epic did.

I'll try to post up some comparison pics today later on
Also have not looked around for extended cases but I think I have seen some.
OK so here's some comparison pics.
I used my htc rezound as something to compare it with. I think for some this at be to much, but the case actually makes the phone more ergonomical.
I loved the build of my amaze (resounds cousin) so for me the thickness isn't an issue.

Another inquiry... Did you ever come across a thin phone case that was compatible with the extended battery cover?
Btw thanks for the info on the battery and accompanying photos.
Edit: ahhh never mind. I missed the post where you said that you have not looked for a case.
"So what you want me to do 'bout that?"

Just eBay it. Hyperion hasvtheir own account and (another reason I buy from them) they are in Michigan. Nice not to have to buy from China.
I paid 16$ for the battery and cover.
I think the buy it now was like 20$
I thought I saw cases for extended batteries on eBay but not sure.
I'm gonna 're do my back cover and clear cote it and see how I feel about it. I like the naked feel. I may just do a full invisible body armor or something.
Also I previously contacted andida they said extended batteries for the gs3 would be out soon and it appears they are on eBay ad of yesterday.
I may buy one just for comparison.
I think the Andida was 4500 as opposed to this one being like 4100ma or something.
Edit: just looked at the battery... made in China....lol. ah well. Still a good product.

I would very much appreciate that. Since the S3 is so thin already, I was thinking about getting an extended battery.
That was my thought too. I never thought I'd say this, but it might actually be too thin. I also ordered a Seidio Active w/kickstand case, but that won't fit the extended battery.
Edit: A bit of new info I just found, Mugen is planning a 4600mAh battery w/cover and a protective case for it. They just recently released a 2300mAh battery, but the big one isn't out quite yet.
https://www.facebook.com/MugenPowerBatteries
I have had great experiences with Seidio's extended batteries. I emailed them asking if they intend to make one for the G3. They replied and confirm that they will make one but would not give me any eta on it.
I just bought a Anker battery rated @ 2200mAh.. I prefer swapping batteries vs. having a thicker and heavier phone. I have used Anker with the sensation and the amaze. never let me down.

I had the Power brand from them for my EVO 4G. That thing ran all day with me playing games from time to time and playing on the internet. I think I might have went to the red maybe 3 or 4 times with that thing and it was late at night. I will be keeping an eye out for it from them.
One thing about the Seidio is their "soft coat" battery door. Unlike the oem cover which I find slippery, this soft coat gives a slight resistance.
I am looking to buy the seidio active with kickstand. This Commuter is too slippery! If I were to buy it, could I reasonably expect that seidio's eventual extended battery will fit in it?

"This product is suitable for Samsung Galaxy Note. In addition to being a super battery life of portable back-up battery pack, you can also be used as the Samsung Galaxy Note protective cover, bring to your iPad strong momentum and excellent console protection."
Looks good if you buy it post a review I'm curious to know if its good or not.

Im confused. Do you have to already own the ipad or does it come with one? If it doesn't come with one can I use the "strong momentum and excellent console protection" on a different device, or perhaps other non-related items such as my cat?
I think I might buy that. Slimmer than the mugen, and it doubles as a portable charger or extender for 35 bucks.
I see one problem with it though, can't take the stylus out with the phone in it.

Actuall i think you can. If you look at the corner there appears to be a gap there. I bet thats an opening to access the s-pen. I went with the super thick super cheap extended battery. $8 for a batter that lasts me a couple days is nice. If you, or anyone else for that matter, gets this please take some pictures for us so we know what we're dealing with in thickness and effectivness. And and let me know if it helps you ipad out any.

I dunno, if you look at picture 4 and 7, it shows the word "IN". 4 looks like where the stylus would be, but on picture 7 its the same spot on the phone just flipped and it shows the USB port for charging it.
Looks like a good alternative for $35. Total charge capacity would be 5500 mAh, assuming all 3000 mAh of the Brando battery can be transferred to the phone. That would be about the same as the Mugen 5400 mAh extended battery.

It's not a passthrough, so the placement doesnt matter much. The thickness will prevent it from being used it most/all docks. According to the site you must take this off the phone in order to charge it or the phone. I do tons of supplemental charging on and off through the day that this is absurd and out of the question for me. But if you find yourself only charging at night only then this is not likely to be a big issue for you, only you will need to have a second charger at your night stand to charge them both.
see i plug mine in a lot through the day as well... would be nice to see one with pass though charging as well.
Looks cool but I think it would add to much weight and bulk.
not for At&t i717 note?!?
I think the pic is of the unbranded note and it is different enough to not fit at&t model.
I purchased a miikey external 5200 mah(? Not sure of #, but close) and it is like having 3 extra batteries without turning off phone to change out.
cost was: orig. $89.95, i hit a nice sale and got it for $50.oo purchased at at&t store in central nj!
the only thing it is not good for is if you need power when connected to a pc.
my original battery either needs calibration after rooting or i have a defective battery. so, i use this till i can figure out what is going on. prolly needs calibration.

Zero lemon battery for g3

The zerolemon blog suggest that the batteries will be out as soon as july 5... so does this makes u excited more juice would help this phone alot.. good to know that the company is already working on it,now we know we can have a better battery ! so does this make u think on buying this phone after hearing some different reviews from various sites ????:silly::silly:
http://zerolemon.com/news/
I would love an extended battery for the G3, but goddamn do they make their cases aesthetically unpleasing.
I'd only buy slim batteries. I don't want a super huge battery that adds a lot of bulk.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Free mobile app
I think I may just go the route of a second battery if it's even necessary. It won't take more than a few seconds to pop in. I've yet to see a Zero Lemon case that I'd actually want to use. They are pretty fugly.
I have the 7000mAh ZeroLemon for my Galaxy S3. My decision for the LG G3 was also based on it having an exchangeable battery. If ZeroLemon will have a battery for the G3 I will surely get it. I just wonder whether ZeroLemon will also include the wireless charging in the back cover...
i would much rather carry a second battery with me and pop it in if my first battery die, than to carry around a brick all day. Their cases are so ugly.
To be honest, I'm mixed on these slim batteries from ZeroLemon. I have one for my Galaxy S4, which is supposed to be higher capacity than the original one, but I can;t see any difference (I switch from one to the other when they;re empty, and always get roughly the same time).

No surprises here. The benefit of extended batteries have always been sacrificing some bulk for not having to carry or keep swapping batteries out. You charge it for the day and you don't have to think about it.
Whether the benefit is worth it to you or not is a personal thing of course.
Personally, I purchase both a spare battery for daily use and an extended battery for those extended trips/flights/etc...
TLDR: One solution is not "better" than the other as they both have their own purpose.
My experience is that I got used to the increase in bulk. (Actually I preferred the feel of it after about a week.) I NEVER get used to running out of battery. ZeroLemon completely changed my cellphone experience. Being able to travel and play video games almost nonstop for 20 hours is nice. If I forgot to charge the phone a couple of days in a row... not a big deal. ZeroLemon completely eliminated my worries about my battery dying too soon. I hope that ZeroLemon drops the G3 battery very soon. I hope that it will be over 9000 mAh (Triple the capacity is what they tout.) I will be getting a ZeroLemon as soon as possible.
I'm waiting to see if the case that it comes with is the tpu or the rugged ZeroShock case. I had a ZL on my note 2 and loved it, 4 to 5 days of hard use with low signal most all the time. Loved it, and got use to the bulk I kinda prefer that I guess.
It's going to be sweeeet.
From their Facebook:
ZeroLemon fans,
We appreciate your patience as we've been dealing with delays for our LG G3 products.
Here is a preview of the 9000 mAh capacity battery and ZeroShock case!
We are still working on the exact date, but it will be available by the end of August.

Well, the design isn't horrible, but I'd like something on the slimmer side. I'd take a slimmer back cover/case (like the Slim Guard + a bigger battery) over their super rugged with ginormous battery if that was an option. I'm probably just going to buy their replacement batteries with a charger once they become available and stick to standard cases.

I'd take a slimmer back cover/case (like the Slim Guard + a bigger battery) over their super rugged with ginormous battery if that was an option. I'm probably just going to buy their replacement batteries with a charger once they become available and stick to standard cases.

I do agree, I don't think the thickness on this phone should be so much bigger. I like how it lays in my hand atm,
So like you, I would like Slim Guard w/ bigger battery.
gonna we able to use this battery without zeroshock case? Just replace orginal battery with this one?

Loris
any word on a in-between size? when i had my galaxy s3 i had a 3000 mah battery from samsung... just wondering.
I've had a zero lemon for my Galaxy Note 2. They're the best. Period. Triple the battery life? Yes please. As one person said I can get used to extra bulk, I cant get used to running out of battery mid day. Stock batteries blow, plain and simple. Unless you dont actually use your phone.
I will be buying this tout suite the moment it comes out for my new LG g3. I dont care what it looks like, I'm not posing around making a fashion statement, I'm requiring a tool that works all day every day without fail.
Going from 0.35mm to over 19mm is insane. I'd rather not carry a brick in my pocket, and thats almost as big as a real brick.
Personally I just want these companies to release something.. going on trips with stock battery is not fun :crying:

I just received this baby yesterday!
I charged it during the whole night and i am using it since 10 am this morning and it is just down to 93%. really nice feeling, looks good but the phone feels and looks bigger. Will post pics as soon as i have some down time. I am using it with sprint's galaxy mega. Cheers
I've read many reviews and only good things can be said.
In one review this guy took it on a 10.5 flight fully charged . During the flight, he watched 3 full movies and listened to music in the remaining time and this beast didnt drop below 70%.

I have the Zerolemon battery on my S3 and I absolutely it. It lasts nearly a week on a full charge and its 7000mAh. With 10000mAh, the mega would be unstoppable, lol.
i have one. its HUGE tho after the case is on. its like carrying a small brick around all day , if the case was more a hard plastic like a otterbox i was gonna glue a belt clip on the back of it lol!
Just receive one today and charge it right now. Looking forward to using it. Hope it will keep my phone going for at least 3 days ^^
can you post some pics on how the mega looks like with the battery and case on?
The phone is 2 times heavier than normal and 2 times thicker ^^. But the battery last like more than 3 times longer ^^
I used to go through one normal charge from work listening to Pandora, screen on most of the time, ingress half the way. The trip is about 1 hour. I would then use it to surf and chat and video call for a few hours. By tonight I believe I will probably have to charge it. So, instead of 1-3 charges I am chargin 1x a day.
I just don't see the need. I use my phone heavily and only charge daily if even that. The thing is so thin - I can't even stand a case on it. I can't imagine turning it into a piece if masonry.

Everyone has their reasons and my personal one was I like the idea of knowing my battery wont die on me, sure its big and it might take longer to charge but I just plug it in before bed and wake up to 100%. The case, while big also adds a layer of protection as well
