Un-rooting? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an up to date un root thread? I think the stick thread below is out of date.

I was trying to download the files in the first post but the links kept prompting me to install ilivid download manager.

Need help, trying to install ROM and having issues

So I'm trying to install cyanogen rom on my lg optimus t and did everything i thought i was supposed to. PArtitioned the SD card and created folder 'AAA' where I placed the rom zxip file, per the attached instructions i was following. Wiped appropriate data and even did a backup via system recovery menu. However, when i went to flash the rom via the system recovery menu, I get E:no zip files found. I can't do a NAND restore either. I pretty certain that the zip file is on the sd card in the zip folder but can't get to it for some reason. Any body got any ideas? phone won't reboot either, stuck at the android splash screen.
Here's the instructions I was following //lgp500.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/gingerbread-cyanogenmod7-rc1-rjtchn-installation-guide/
you'll need to add the http prefix since forum policy won't let me post a link as a new user with less than 8 posts. Thanks.
Brice
Sigh. Did you copy the file before you partitioned the card? If yes, then you should have realised that the partitioning process will wipe all data on the sd card. Connect the phone to a computer and copy the zip file again.
yes the last thing i did was to copy the zip file the folder i created after partitioning. the folder was created on the fat32 part of the card. unfortunately, when i toggle the USB mass storage from the recovery menu, the drive doesn't show up on my computer. The phone won't start up now and so I can toggle it through the OS either. Is there some way to get the drive to show up when toggling the USB -MS through the recovery menu?
Possibly there were some errors when copying. If you have a card reader then try connecting the card to the computer through it. Else try partitioning again thorugh recovery, then see if the drive shows on the computer.
so i got the rom flashed and seems to be working but i'm not seeing the notification bar. anybody had this issue with cyanogenmod7-rc1?
Hem as far as getting your PC to recognize your phone when it
Plugged in the USB its prolly do to a lack of phone drivers. Don't know if the would be in the android sdk. Found allmy HTC phone drivers with it. And as far as the status bar h should be able able to change font colors St inthe cyanogenmod options under settings. Hope this helps some
Lord craigus
Sent from my COS-DS using XDA App
for the drivers:

Thanks all, I just reflashed the rom wand the notification bar was there and all seems to be working well. Thanks for all the good advice. Once I got a card reader and moved the zip files out of the folder I created and into the root directory of the card the phone saw them fine and was able flash the rom. I'll definitely download those drivers

At the bottom of the first post there is an option for GB or ICS so choose accordingly.
Place on root of external SD and reboot to bootloader. It'll install and you should be good to go.

I can't download attachments (or pics) from XDA at work. Got it figured out though...

I'm unlocked, but can't root. Where are the files?

Anyone have a good download link for the root file? In the development section, the links to download the root file in multiple threads does not work anymore. I even searched google and it keeps giving me the same links.

Your issue is described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=9912
If you have trouble after that, make sure your SuperSU (or SuperUser) app is updated as well as the superuser binary. Also a good idea to make sure busybox is installed and updated if you have more issues.

Sorry about that, could have sworn I just copied and pasted the link from the thread. Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51314174&postcount=9912
That one works but the other one I posted which appears to be the same, does not. Confused..
If that stops working again, then it is linked from the OP on the Xposed Framework thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401 which oddly enough, explains this problem in the Installation section of the OP.

I'm not sure I follow you. The download should be a zip that is flashable via recovery. I was helping another member with this issue and they had to reinstall their rom and used Xposed v2.5 vs v2.5.1 and that worked for them.

Thank you to Kali- and chirayudesai for setting up device tree at: android_device_sony_z3c
And, thank you to the people who spared the time in correcting my silly mistakes, and for responding to my even sillier questions.
When i select choose form sdcard1 from main recovery menu, i get a wiping cache messages, and then it reverts back to the main screen, same when selecting internal storage.
When using TWRP from a different fasbooted kernel (AndroPlus Kernel for Stock FW / ROM), i get status 7.
Cheers

No more errors when extracting proprietary files.
Did not touch updater script, though, so you find yourself with the same issues.
For those who do not know how to download from free file host servers:
I use Ad block so did not come with any issues, also never had a problem before today with go4up.
