I was wondering if anyone was interested in helping with my effort to get Vinchenzop (team venom developer; HTC DNA and Evo 4G LTE currently) an HTC One Max. He has verizon, and has a grandfathered unlimited account so he’d lose his unlimited if he used his upgrade, and he’s told me that it wouldn’t be financially responsible to put out full price for the device this close to the holidays.
I was/am one of his testers for the Evo 4g lte, so I can attest to the quality of work him, and his team, put into their ROMs. If you’re not familiar with Team Venom’s work, go check out any of the latest HTC devices and look for their ROMs. Here is a link to their ViperONE ROM.
If we can even get together enough money to get the price down to a ‘subsidized device’ price (about $200-250, so we’d have to generate ~$400), I think that would be awesome. I, personally will start the pledging off with $50 if more people are interested.
I just think that it is a shame that this device has been out for over a month globally (a week or so for US variants) and seems to have such a small (but talented) dev-pool. I asked him if he would be able to make a rom for other carries besides verizon, and he said with the right group of testers, that he could. So this could benefit more than just verizon and sprint users.
If anyone would be interested in joining my cause, please post here or PM me. Currently, Vinchenzop doens’t know I am doing this, but I will be PM’ing him in the event that people are willing to assist with this.

Are there any tutorials for sense? I'm coming from Samsung. I'm not really sure about compiling with sense. Is there anything specific I need to know? I just got the one max Verizon variant.

Assuming this fundraising drive still has legs, I'm willing to contribute to the cause.
Currently running HyperDrive on my GS3, but I first embarked upon this 4G journey with the 1st generation Thunderbolt and I was truly hoping the One Max would prove a worthy enough device to justify my return to Sense.

Just wanted to stop in and say thanks to those who have donated, it really helps around the holidays.
My progress for ViperMAX is coming along nicely. As I mentioned in the "concern over developer support" thread (Q&A forum), the rom will initially only support Verizon and (most likely) sprint, but I will do my best to build an international version as time permits (Christmas, work, family, etc).
I'd also like to personally thank [email protected] for making an attempt to assist in getting me this device. It's greatly appreciated.

Verizon pulled the rezound from HTCdev in the beginning like they are doing here, but we bugged them with emails, petitions and any other public ways to let them know we wanted it available to be unlocked and they finally cracked so let them know how you feel and tell them often and hopefully we will get the support back

We really should come up with some standardized format. I'm going to modify the HTC One X petition to fit our needs, as follows:
I am a proud owner of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. It is a beautiful device with powerful potential. All I ask is that Verizon allows HTC to issue unlocks to owners of the Droid Incredible 4G LTE that choose to unlock it.
This phone has the potential to be an excellent platform for development. I consider the ability to modify the software running on the phone to be an essential feature. The current inability of the Droid Incredible 4G LTE to accept custom firmware is already dissuading some from purchasing this phone, and even causing others to consider returning devices that they have recently bought.
Once purchased, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is our property alone to modify if we choose. HTC CEO and President Peter Chou promised that all HTC Android devices launched after September 2011 can have their bootloaders unlocked if the owner chooses to do so. And here I am, asking for that promise to be fulfilled.
Unlocking the Droid Incredible 4G LTE helps the development community do what they want with their devices. By unlocking the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, HTC and Verizon are supporting open hardware and software, the way it was meant to be. Please respect our freedom to do what we want with our devices.

I figured out how to push this update download from AT&T and then manually force the phone to update. It's basically just tricking the phone. I would write a detailed guide on this but I don't have the time because I have work and bills to pay. Donations would help though

Well you guys have echoed the sentiments pretty well here.
OP, we don't hold information ransom for monetary remuneration. We do this because we love development and helping others.
Normally I would say something humorous and sarcastic and close with a zing, but today I am going to kindly ask that you re-read the rules and realize that this is a live and close community, and as you can see from the replies here the community does not take kindly to efforts to extort money for information, files, beta access, or anything like that.
We are here for further mobile development and maybe have a bit of fun while doing it

Please do not host other people's ROMs unless asked to by them. Some devs make money from adds when people go to download the ROMs and you would be taking away the little bit of income that they do get.

Alright folks, since I have an HTC one coming on Thursday I've decided to give my DNA to a developer who needs one for either development or personal use. This will be free and shipping paid for by me once I've decided that everything is in working order with my One. I know a lot of the devs on here are modest and don't ask for handouts so if anyone knows of any DNA developers on here that need a DNA because they dont actually have one, post up their names. If I get enough names I'll run em through a random generator and give it to the "winner". Figure it's the least I could do to give back to the XDA community.
I thought my DNA was dying as far as the headphone jack goes but it was just dusty haha. However the volume down key is a little tempermental sometimes.

odd request...
my dna is currently my daily phone and while its usable it has a cracked screen that makes it less than an ideal phone to use...as a daily phone, though its fine for development purposes
if you were gracious enough to choose me, i would then send my current dna to another developer, like hawk, for development purposes
would be appreciated :laugh:
if not, still a great offer to the community
+1 vote for hawk, so I can stop having to test his mods and fix everything for him on my device.
Or send it to nitsuj17 and he'll send his cracked screen one to hawk, since nits uses his daily and hawk would only use it for dev purposes and the cracked screen wouldn't create issues.

Well if nobody else posts up by the time I'm home from work tonight 11-1130 pm eastern, I'll probably just end up going with Nitz idea. That way it is helping two people over one person. If I don't miss FedEx tomorrow I should have it all good to ship out by Saturday.
I will add that the only thing wrong with it is cosmetic, the red strips on the earpiece and sides are gone but I don't think yall care about that lol.

I'd vote Hawk too. I've been stalking him around for a while now because he does such great work. If it means my DNA gets more love from the hawk man, then that's were my vote goes.
Not taking anything away from Nits at all. Just that I'm a huge fan of hawks work since the Rezound's first ecliptic Rom and it blew my mind.
Alright, FedEx is being stupid so my 2 day shipping is taking 3 days now. I'll have the One on Friday so I'll have the DNA in the mail to whomever by Sunday.

Well, I'm not a developer yet but I'm seriously looking into learning. My curiosity is up so high on how all this stuff works that I want to start with a good base. I love the DNA Soooo much that I think it would be perfect. Hopefully, whoever gets it puts it to good use.

I think this sounds like a great plan, nits, vinc and hawk are working together and putting out a really nice package with Viper on the DNA.
